Re: No More Heroes 3 Is No Longer A Switch Exclusive

MEGAMAN_D

I've played and own all of them, and oddly enough 2 is my favourite followed Very closely by 1 and then TSA 3rd. NMH3 is my least favourite but by no means a bad game I just prefer slaughtering people and not weird machine like aliens. In terms of this port, I predict it will look and run a lot nicer but taking away the motion controls will definitely hurt the experience.

Re: Review: The House Of The Dead: Remake - Control Issues Gnaw At Sega's Arcade Classic

@WaveBoy For me the lack of blood and gore just feels wrong. The blood and gore was one of HOD's selling points and taking that away is like mortal Kombat without fatalities, so to see all the violence back in remake made it even better. In terms of graphics the yeah, Scarlett dawn is better but remake definitely looks nice and I would say looks better than overkill and even 4

Re: Review: The House Of The Dead: Remake - Control Issues Gnaw At Sega's Arcade Classic

THOD1 is a very special game for me, I would pump £1 after £1 into the arcade cabinet and even begged my dad for a Sega Saturn when I heard it was coming to the system. Maybe I was a weird kid but shooting a plastic gun and seeing zombie blood, guts, and limbs flying everywhere with a backdrop of an old spooky mansion was the greatest thing ever to my 12 year old brain and I kid you not, when I was walking to work a almost a year ago and the remake trailer dropped I was 12 years old again and I was very excited yet at the same time knew that joycons with gyro wouldn't be the best fit.

So here we are 24 years after I got the Saturn version on good Friday 1998 (yes, I remember the day) I've played the heck out of the remake and cannot believe what a amazing job forever entertainment has done, they really haved smashed it out the park in my opinion. Everything just looks so good and is EXACTLY how I would imagine a modern remake of HOD1 to look, even the new soundtrack is great, everything is just dripping with atmosphere and it all feels so new yet so familiar, it's simply perfect 👌

But..............the gyro controls, they ain't great, they do the job and I would choose them any day over sticks but as guy that cut his teeth on PROPER light guns back in the day, it hurts me to see it come to this in 2022 but there is a flip side and the flip side is that the game is so fun and well made that you'll probably be having too much fun to really notice and shooting, reloading, and tapping the re-center button will all become second nature and you'll be popping headshots before you know it. A lot of people have also complained about performance issues, I personally have not experienced anything I would even call distracting let alone game breaking, I'm not saying they don't exist I'm just saying they are very minor.

So to wrap up this long and boring post I'd give this a solid 7/10, if this game had a true light gun option then this would be a light gun masterpiece and I would easily give it a 10 and that's without going into all the unlockables, medals, high scores, multiple endings, and the horde mode! which is fantastic by the way. This is definitely a good game and a solid recommendation to old timers like me that were fans of the first 2 games and as long as your willing to adapt you'll have a great time.

Re: "Audacious" Zombie Army 4: Dead War Switch Port Has Been A "Nightmare" For Rebellion

MEGAMAN_D

Rebellion hasn't let me down yet, sniper elite 4 is probably the best "realistic" looking games on the switch and runs and looks beautiful on my TV, same with strange brigade. I think a lot of it has to do with strong and unique art direction and using what you have wisely and this is something I think rebellion understand quite well.

Already have my copy of ZA4 pre-ordered at GAME

Re: Review: Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection - Ageing Classics And Glitches Galore

MEGAMAN_D

My favourite in the series is still AC4, in the same way that dead rising on 360 felt "next gen" I had the exact same feeling when I played AC4 for the first time, it was so vast and open and most importantly FUN.

I have never played the ezio games so after enjoying everything from 3 to syndicate, including spin-offs (not interested in the newer ones) I was worried that playing these older ones would feel very dated and boring, I'm happy to say that's not the case and although not up there with 4 AC2 has been a blast to play so far and I'm looking forward to brother hood and revelations.

Re: Rebellion's Zombie Army 4: Dead War Marches Onto Switch In April

MEGAMAN_D

Physical has been confirmed on rebellion's own website and will all be on one game card not including future downloads. I love these games to bits and played 4 very briefly on my son's Xbox one through gamepass so as a guy that more or less plays only on switch I'm very happy this is coming and will be a day one buy for me.

Re: Talking Point: How Does Microsoft's Purchase Of Activision Blizzard Impact Nintendo?

MEGAMAN_D

Nintendo would rather go bust than sell out, it just will never happen. To me personally, I couldn't care less about Activision or any of their games apart from crash bandicoot and even then I'd rather play Mario or even sonic.
But in the grand scheme of things stuff like this is never a good thing but that's business and that's how it is and always will be. I think PlayStation gamers will be affected by this the most and if Microsoft decide to play hard ball and keep all of the Activision ip's exclusive to Xbox than there's no other way of saying it but PlayStation is in trouble.

Re: Poll: No More Heroes 3 Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

MEGAMAN_D

Each to their own I guess but to me this is a game you own a switch for, the oy exception being you hate video game violence, dislike fighting games or are not old enough to play.

But if your none of the above and still haven't checked out the no more heroes games then maaaaaaan are you missing out and 3 is the best one yet.

Re: RICO London Will Kick The Doors Down On Switch In September

MEGAMAN_D

Really liked the original, me and my oldest son always play it so we we're both really excited to see there was a sequel and set in our old home town of London was the cherry on top.

The first game did feel a bit light on content and there were some technical problems that I hope have been ironed out for the sequel. More variation in environments and objectives would be nice too.

Re: Switch Frame Rate And Resolution For House Of The Dead: Remake Seemingly Revealed

MEGAMAN_D

I'm not concerned, despite what people say about panzer dragoon remake I thought it was pretty decent and I should know I was a Saturn kid and still play the saturn to this day so........ we're in good hands and clearly these guys have a passion for these old school 32 bit sega games.

As for the controls, once again I think we're all good, they wouldn't even bother making it if they wasn't confident they could recreate the feel of a light gun.

But here are MY concerns:
720p? Docked? really guys? C'mon now

Physical copy? I need it and this needs to happen or I won't be happy
