Ok you lot need to read this to understand the logic behind the average gamer in the UK today.

So I just got a new job and today we all had a company induction, and during the break we all got talking about games. One guy said to the other "have you seen the PS4 ? it looks sick" then he replied "yeah I'm getting one when it comes out" so I got involved in the conversation, I said "what games did you like" " I aint seen any games, my brother showed me a picture on his phone of the joypad, its got a touchpad and it looks so good"

I then told them that I have a wii u, and they looked at me without a clue of what I was on about, "a wii what" so then I got my phone out and showed them a zombi u and batman armored edition trailer on youtube.

"That looks alright actually"

That's a 100% true story that happened today.
I'd say that 80% of the wii u's problem is product awareness, another 10% is the price and another 10% for absent software i.e. tomb raider bioshock infinite and so on.

If nintindo wanna be stubborn and keep relying on their old ways to carry them forward, then yes, their competitors will leave them in the dust.

product awarness is crucial if the Wii U is to be successful. Nintendo could make the best games console ever, but what good is it if nobody knows it exists, and to be honest I'm surprised ninty hasn't done anything yet to adress this problem.

Why is it that if sombody likes nintendo more than the other companies they get branded a FANBOY.

But it's ok for sony and microsoft fans to come on here and start gettin all crazy and saying that nintendo are doomed and that their rubbish blah, blah oh.....but thats ok.

I'm not a fanboy, I love killzone, resistance, god of war, gears of war.

But I like mario and zelda more

Actually the amazing spider-man is pretty good.

Anybody that has passed this up as being some movie tie-in garbage is making a big mistake.

well first off, this ain't nintendos fault, and secondly if australian gamers really want these games, you can always go on ebay and just buy the pal region copies from other countries in europe.

And also if the ausie gamers feel strongly about these decisions, then you really need to make your vioces heard in whatever way you can.

ooooooh, whoopi do, he made the gears of war games. y'know the strage thing is, my cousin and one of my best mates are 360 fanboys, and the two of em don't even like GOW. In fact I don't know anyone that likes gears of war.

I myself don't mind em, but I don't think their anything that special it's just a 3rd person shooter, nothing more, nothing less.

this dude has had his flash in the pan with gears and he thinks that he is some kind of development guru ? But at the same time I respect his views because of his contributions to the industy.

everybody acts like it's only nintendo consoles that these so called "hardcore" games don't sell on, there are a ton of good games that sell in very poor numbers on the ps3/360. binary domain, singularity, bayonetta, vanquish, lollipop chainsaw, homefront, all sold in underwhelming numbers.

but you slap cod or gta on the box and watch it fly off the shelves.

because the industry will end catering to dumb chavs that wanna pick up a cheap second hand xbox from cex, and live out their asbo dreams.

and for the record it was copied games that killed the dreamcast, not poor sales, but were not allowed to say that.

I just watched the ps4 watchdogs demo, I didn't even know it was the ps4 version, I thought it was xbox 360 demo. I'm impressed with the launch line up of games, but NOTHING LOOKED TRULY NEXT GEN.

now I know they are only launch games and I'm sure we will see what the ps4 can really do later down the line.

BUT THE WII U IS ALSO STILL IN IT'S EARLY STAGES and the same rule applies, not to mention that we have already seen graphical enhancments over the ps3 and 360. Black ops 2, ninja gaiden 3, mass effect 3 all look a little better on the wii u.

There is no way that there will be this HUGE gap between ps4 and wii u garphics wise.

because resident evil 6 was $h*t

you handed over the duties to a smaller dev to make a 3ds game and was expecting it to be an average game for a nintendo handheld.

and then when your big dev, big budget resident evil 6 turned out to be a pile of poop and your LOYAL fans were not satisfied, and the dinky little RE: revelations turned out to be the best resi game scince RE4, y'all couldn't believe it.

So you $h*t yourselves and decided to bring revelations to the HD consoles in the hope that you will win back your fans.

and It will probably work because revelations is awesome

Ok here's what I think

the wii u is the best console I have ever used at the moment, the touch screen makes playing games so much better than a normal controler, But the lack of certain games is a pretty big problem.

Games like dead space 3, crysis 3, bioshock infinitie, tomb raider e.t.c not coming to the wii u I think is something that may turn a lot of people off from buying the console.

This to me is a big shame because I believe that the wii u would provide the definitive way for these games to be played.

Imagine dead space 3 with all your weapons and a map on display on the touch screen, not to mention that you could enjoy the co-op mode localy with one player on the pad and the other using the tv. That's just one example, and it's not just a cheap gimmik it would make the game so much better.

I brought a wii u to enjoy the nintendo exclusives, but I also got it to enjoy new games in a better way to the other consoles, and in that regard I feel let down.

But not by the console, because the wii u is a great peice of hardware that if used PROPERLY could wipe the floor with whatever microsoft and sony decide to do.

unless sony decide to put a touch screen on their control pad......."a great innovation" what a sony rep said about the ps move

y'know I'm not even a rayman fan(although I did enjoy the demo), but when this comes out I'm gonna buy it just to give the dev and wii u some support

I got this on the wii and despite all the bad reviews I really enjoyed because the fighting in this game is just AWESOME.

Will I get get it for the wii u ? yes

I would reccomend this game not just to spidey fans, but also to streets of rage, final fight, fighting force 1, fans
