Re: Opinion: Nintendo Needs To Let Us Block The Crap On Switch 2's eShop

LuXifer

I don't mind having the flood gates open for everyone. But as you say - let us easily block/ignore devs/publishers/keywords.

And for the love of all that is unholy - have more genre tags and let us combine tags for search results. If I'm in the mood for a sci-fi mecha sRPG I don't want to wade through the eShops whole "strategy" section. 😬

Re: New Switch Emulator Devs Are Jumping Through Hoops To Avoid A Nintendo Takedown

LuXifer

@FantasiaWHT What you say are true and factual and I agree 100%. What I meant was that if Nintendo thinks that any of the code for the emulator was made by reverse engineering and reusing snippets of their own code, or even other similarities that would make Nintendo feel slighted. Then they would have enough reason, or at at least enough for their lawyers to write up a cease & desist.

Emulators are in practise legal, both to make and distribute. But the moment Nintendo can prove that the distributor makes even a single cent of what they perceive as their property, either directly or indirectly, they're out of luck.

There's no doubt that Nintendo wants all news of current-system emulators squashed as they prepare for their next generation hardware. Even if it means strong-arming, threatening and bribing the emulation community into submission. I get it, I really do. But this tactic will probably not work for very long as more and more forks of the emulators will probably pop up.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X Fans Are Once Again Discussing The Game's Censorship

I'm all for it, remove everything that can be interpreted as sexy or hot. Make everyone gender-less potatoe people and cover them 100% up from top to bottom. πŸ‘

We need to make a list of every persons kink and what they find attractive and force developers to remove, cover or uglify said things. Give large trigger warnings if it must occur (after being vetted by a committee of course). Make gaming safe again! ✊️

(I'm sorry for the use of hand-emojis, I know a percentage of the population finds hands sexy...oof I'll try to better myself in the future).

On a more serious note - Can't wait to play this one, it's been an embarrassing blindspot in my Xenoblade experience. The wait is almost over. πŸ˜ƒ

Re: 'Ultimate' Zelda Switch Lite Comes With OLED Screen And Hall Effect Joysticks

LuXifer

TBH, the only thing that stops me from getting the Zelda Lite is the lack of good hall-effect sticks. I've had enough stick-drift problems as is.

OLED seems awfully nice and all, but with the amount of tactics and somewhat static image games I play I'm still a bit worried about burn-in. Not sure if the technology has gotten better at avoiding that?

But still, no denying that it's an awesome "Ultimate Edition" of a Lite. πŸ˜ƒ

I much prefer the NA version. Symmetric, informative and good design.

EU is very informative and has more eye-catching colors/contrast, but much too busy and chaotic for my taste.

JP version works if you already know who the character is, if not it just gives off "Man-in-a-tophat-the-game" vibes.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Confirms Version 1.6 Console Release Date

LuXifer

@Kidfunkadelic83 At it's core it's just a souped up Harvest Moon/Story of Season game yes. It takes the best (mostly) aspects of these titles and packs it into one mega farming/time-management/social game.

Got some aspect of production optimization and light dungeon fighting. It's a chill game if that's what you're after.

Re: Stardew Valley Creator Confirms Version 1.6 Console Release Date

As much as I love Dwarf Fortess for it's ever evolving and expanding game development. There comes a point where the scope of a game like Stardew Valley goes from being content rich to start getting bloated.

Don't get me wrong, Eric is a based developer and most of the content has been amazing. But I'm also excited for what he can cook up with that Chocolatier game now that he has the money and manpower to flex his creativity. πŸ˜ƒ

Re: 'RPG Maker With' Demo Now Available On Switch eShop

LuXifer

It's a great tool for people who wants to tell a story in games, you can make slices of a game and get a feel for the flow of your story mixed with gameplay.

It can help hopeful future gamedevs to use rudimental animations and basic environmental storytelling and not to rely on walls of text.

And if your story is amazing you might even make an awesome game. πŸ₯³

Re: Romancing SaGa 2 3D Remake Scores A Switch eShop Demo

LuXifer

Just finished the demo. A nice slice of gameplay. Apart from the weapon system it seemed a bit simplistic. But it does lay the foundations for some nice combos and strategies. Somewhat hand-holdy, but I did spot that you can customise quest- and map-markers in the options menu.

Sadly the amount of breasts was over-promised. πŸ˜‹ So that shouldn't deter most people, unless a bit of cleavage is a no-go. Not a thirsty game as far as I can see.
