Re: Nintendo's Request To Dismiss Joy-Con Drift Lawsuit Gets Rejected

Lawnachaun

I have 4 sets of controllers, of different colors, so when I have parties, everybody can play, and/or have their own set, depending on the game. I even has a couple of Pro Controllers too. I have the launch system, with an spare set of controllers I also bought on launch. So far, with tons of regular use, I only had 1 slight drift on one controller, but nothing major. It didn't even drift a lot, or for a long time. It might do it for a moment or two, and then be fine. And then start again a long while later. Didn't hinder playing tho. I sprayed a can of compressed around the joystick area, and it's worked perfectly since. Haven't had another issue with any of the other controllers, and all has been well. So, I don't have a problem with the Joy Cons, in my experience. Just that slight drift, for a small period of time, until I shot air at the controller, and it's been perfect since. So, launch controllers are good, and its been almost 3 full years with them, with tons of regular use. I've never had a single problem with the Pro Controllers tho. However, I like the Wii U Pro Controllers better. I like the layout of that one much much better.

Re: Site News: We're Changing The Way We Handle Switch Screenshots

Lawnachaun

Anytime I play alone, I play 99% in Handheld mode, as it leaves my tv free to let me watch something else at the same time. I only ever really play on tv when I have friends over, or if I take it to friend's houses. So, in Singleplayer, tv mode doesn't mean a lot to me when I game alone. But I would still like to see the difference between Docked and Handheld mode. Tho, that won't sway me to start playing more in Docked mode when I play alone. I'll still play in Handheld only mode when I play alone, as it's more convenient for me.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo's Wireless SNES Controllers Are Back In Stock (North America)

Lawnachaun

I bought 2 this morning. I missed the first time they went on sale because I was out of town, and they sold out before I got online. Same thing for the 2nd time too. But this time, I was home, and knew they were coming at some point this month, so I just kept refreshing the page in a different tab, the past several days, until it finally said it was available in stock this morning. So finally picked mine up. So now I have the NES controllers, and soon, the SNES controllers.

Re: News On Nintendo Switch SNES Controller Stock Expected This Month (North America)

Lawnachaun

I finally bought mine today. I was out of town the first time they went on sale, so I missed it. Then, I went out of town again the 2nd time too. So I missed them both, as they were out of stock both times by the time I got online. This time tho, I was online, and kept refreshing the page for days, until it finally popped up as available. So I got mine this morning. Finally.

Re: Talking Point: How Much Is Your Video Game Collection Really Worth To You?

Lawnachaun

I still have my Commodore 64 (Which came out in 1981, and which still works to this day), and I still have over 200+ Floppy Disks to go with it too. Roughly ~50+ or so are "master" disks, and the other ~150+ disks are double-sided disks, with anywhere from 5 to 10 game on each side, so, roughly 10 to 20 games total, on each disk. So, tons of game for that system. I also still have my original Atari 5200, NES, Gameboy, Genesis, SNES, N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Playstation 1, 2, etc.etc, all of the way up to the Switch. Pretty much every system. Including those Tiger Electronic games, Game & Watches, and other such "handheld" games. With tons of games for all systems (except the Tiger Electronic, etc, as they each only have 1 game each). I also have a bunch of PC games too. Not just the Commodore 64 games, but games from the 90s, 2000s and 2010s, as well. Also, I vastly prefer physical games in my collection, so the overwhelming portion of my collection is physical releases. I have tons and tons of games.

I also miss Funcoland here. They used to have monthly newspapers with the "current" value of each game (or at least, their going rate for each title). I missed getting those. I would pick up a bunch, hand them out to friends at school, and I'd highlight all of the games that I owned and added up how much each one was worth, and added the total for each system, and for all total. I missed doing that. I don't know how accurate those numbers were back then, but, I had fun adding them all up, and seeing the difference between prices of certain games on the same system.

Tho, now a days, I have a lot more games than I did then. I've invested a lot of money (and time), into video games. So I'd be interested into seeing how much my collection is worth today. That said, there's no way I'd part with my collection, for any price. I have a lot of stuff, which a lot of the older stuff is boxed up and stored away, so that when I get a proper 'game room', I can fully deck it out with all of my stuff. Looking forward to setting that up one day. In the meantime, I don't know how much my collection is worth, tho I'd be interested in finding out one day. But I have no plans on selling, or getting rid, of anything.

Re: Best Of 2019: The Best Game Boy Games Of All Time, As Voted By You

Lawnachaun

The Top 5 games that I played the most were all on this list..

1. The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening
2. Tetris
3. Super Mario Land
4. Metroid 2: Return of Samus
5. Castlevania 2: Belmont's Revenge

I love Link's Awakening's ending song, as well as Super Mario Land's ending song. I used to beat both games over and over again just to listen to the music. I'd also use all of the Tetris songs too.

Re: QubicGames Is Giving Away 10 Free Nintendo Switch Games: Today's Game Is Space Pioneer

Lawnachaun

I picked up all 10 games for free. Thanks QubicGames. I haven't played any of them yet, as I'm already in the middle of other games that I'm trying to beat first. But I'll get around to trying all 10 soon enough.

@rjejr I'm less concerned about having Folders than I am about splitting up the Digital and Retail games from one another. I currently have 61 Retail Games, and 112 Digital games (including 10 new ones thanks to QubicGames), that are all mixed together. So I'd rather have the Retail Games, that require the Cartridge to be played, to be separated from the Digital Games that don't require a Cartridge to be played. Like, have 2 rows of games on the homepage. One for retail games, and one for digital games. That's the only real organization change I'd really need. If we had Folders, I would split them up that way, Retail and Digital, and then my Homepage would look boring, with 2 folders. But having 2 rows of games in a redesigned homepage, to separate retail from digital games, is all I'd like to see change. Especially since I have so many, and about 2/3rds or digital and 1/3rd is retail.

Re: Deals: These Nintendo Labo Kits Are A Steal At Just £10.99 Each (UK)

Lawnachaun

I already bought the VR one, last year. Played Zelda, Mario, and Captain Toad, with it ready too. As well as the games that came with it. I want to get the kit with the camera, and, since my nephew loves to go fishing, I also want to get the kit with the fishing rod too. Piano and motorcycle handlebar ones might be fun to check out too. But the VR one, with the Blaster, is fun tho. And always a big hit at parties too.

Re: Zen Chess Collection Arrives On Switch, And You Can Get It For Less Than £1 If You're Quick

Lawnachaun

@shani Chess Ultra is for you then. Full game (offline vs humans and/or AI, and online vs humans), as well as chess challenges.

@foodmetaphors Ok. Made a quick account. Can play whenever you're ready. The 1 Day per move timer works for me. Games won't take a full days. Should be minutes. Maybe 20 to 30 mins, at most, if actively playing. Tho probably an average of 10 to 15 mins, most of the time. Maybe even less, a times. But that works. Whenever you're ready. I sent a friend request there.

Re: Zen Chess Collection Arrives On Switch, And You Can Get It For Less Than £1 If You're Quick

Lawnachaun

@KIRO Yeah, Chess Ultra is a solid chess game.

@foodmetaphors I'm always down for a game. I don't have an account on Chess.com, or Lichess.com, or anywhere else. I usually just play as a guest, as I don't play often online (I mostly play in real life against people actually physically next to me), and I honestly couldn't care less about win/loss records. Also, for Timed games, depends on the time. I don't usually like to play with a timer, at all. I don't in real life, and I have online, but I prefer not to. That said, I never drag out the game or anything. I'll play with a clock, just usually no less than 10 mins per side, 15 mins per side is more than enough, as I like to at least look and think for a moment before moving. I'm not a speed chess player at all, where they move like 2 to 3 moves each every second. Too fast for me. But I'm not a 'slow poke' either. I don't drag out games either. I'll move. In fact, openings I can make the first couple of moves fast, as I'll have an idea of a plan, but then, once the game gets into action, then I might need a few seconds to think, per move. If that's cool, I'll play you. Just let me know.

Re: Zen Chess Collection Arrives On Switch, And You Can Get It For Less Than £1 If You're Quick

Lawnachaun

@KIRO Seems to just be 4 different sections (Mate in 1.. 2.. 3.. and 4) of 150 puzzles each, for a total of 600 puzzles.

Chess Ultra is a full fledged Chess game tho. I have that on the Switch as well. In that game, you can even choose which room to play on, which board to use, and with what pieces to use too. And it also has Chess Puzzles just like this game too. Definitely went all out in the graphics department too.

Re: Zen Chess Collection Arrives On Switch, And You Can Get It For Less Than £1 If You're Quick

Lawnachaun

When I was younger, there used to be a "Chess Problems" section in the puzzles section of the newspaper, along with Crossword puzzles, and stuff like that. I used to cut out those Chess Puzzles and save those, and practice with those, for years. But then they stopped adding chess puzzles in newspapers. So I'm glad I saved those when I did. I'm always down for a game of chess.

I went ahead and got this, as I have plenty of points, and even money left over on my account. So, for about a $1, why not. But yeah, like I said, I'm always down for a game of chess. I also have Chess Ultra on the Switch too. Had it on the Wii U as well. And one on my smartphone as well.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (November 9th)

Lawnachaun

I'm almost done with Luigi's Mansion 3. Should be able to finish that today, hopefully. Then I'll play a little Super Smash Bros. Ultimate to test out Terry Bogard, since I haven't done that yet. I downloaded the update, just haven't played it yet, as I was in the middle of Luigi's Mansion 3 when I downloaded it. I also plan on going back and playing through Bloodstained for the 3rd time, now that the update for that is out. I'm also still trying to 100% all of the different maps in Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition. I'm 100% on 2 or 3 maps, and somewhere between 40% and 60% on all of the rest. I still need to put some real time into The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. Only put a little bit of time into both of those, on the Switch. I also would like to go back and make more levels in Super Mario Maker 2. So, I have a lot of stuff I'm going through. Way more I haven't mentioned either, both retail and digital games. Tho, these will be the ones that I focus on in the immediate future.

Re: Amazon Clamps Down On The Sale Of Used Nintendo Games

Lawnachaun

I miss the old days of Half.com, back before eBay bought them. Half.com used to be great for buying used everything. Video Games. Movies. Music. Books. Etc. Lots of things. Great prices for used things on there. I bought a lot of stuff there. Then eBay finally bought them, and eventually shut it down. Shame. I haven't come across another site that was nearly as good as Half.com was for used Video Game/Movies/Music/Books/etc.

Re: Bloodstained Graphics And Performance Update For Switch Is Now Live

Lawnachaun

I beat it twice right after it was first released. Didn't find the issues to be nearly as bad as the complaints made them out to be. The game wasn't perfect, for sure, but wasn't nearly as bad as the negative talks about it said. Input lag seemed unnoticeable to me. I never had any game crashes. There were a couple of 'slow down' areas, but it was mainly in specific spots. That said, this new patch should help smooth things out for the better. I plan on starting a 3rd game and playing it all over again to 100% completion to try it out. I look forward to the improvements. However, again, in my experience playing the game twice to 100% completion both times, when it first launched on Switch, I didn't find it nearly as bad as the complaints said. Definitely worth buying and playing. i had fun with it. I'll get back to playing this again, after I beat Luigi's Mansion 3, which I'm in the middle of right now.

Re: Poll: Vote For The Best Resident Evil Games

Lawnachaun

Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 2, and Resident Evil: Revelations, are my Top 3, with Resident Evil: Revelations 2 being #4. Haven't fully decided which one would take the 5th spot yet tho. Maybe Code Veronica. Perhaps something else. Still deciding.

Re: Chucklefish Reveals Free DLC Commander Coming Soon To Wargroove

Lawnachaun

WarGroove was a great game. Looking forward to this free DLC, as I've already 100% the game already, in all modes. Also, this game had more of a Fire Emblem feel to it. Tiny Metal, and Tiny Metal 2: Full Metal Rumble, were way more like Advance Wars than this game. This game was like part Advance Wards, part Fire Emblem. But still great. Both Tiny Metal games were great too. If you miss Advance Wars, and want an Advance Wars style game, then Tiny Metal and Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble are for you. If you prefer Fire Emblem, then WarGroove is for you.

Re: Guide: Best Nintendo Switch Micro SD Cards For 2019

Lawnachaun

@Woomy_NNYes Considering that most places that I see sell the 1TB card at $400 to $600, yeah, I would definitely "bite" at $140. I wouldn't hesitate at that price. There are some 512gb cards that cost more than $140. I see the 512gb cards in different places range from $60 to $200, and anywhere in between.

So yeah, $140 I would be cool with. Better than $400+. But I have no problem waiting for a sale, and/or for the price to naturally go down over time.

Re: Video: Set Your Sights On This Sniper Elite 3 Ultimate Edition Launch Trailer

Lawnachaun

I beat Sniper Elite V2 on PC, Wii U, and Switch, and had fun every time. I only got to play Sniper Elite 3's first mission, once, on PC, at a friends. So I haven't been able to enjoy the whole game yet. Kept getting sidetracked with a bunch of other games over the years too. So, looking forward to finally putting real time into this Switch version, and beating that game for the first time.

Re: Reminder: The Super Nintendo App Is Out Today On The Switch

Lawnachaun

I already 100% The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. Going to work on Super Mario World and Super Metroid next. But definitely will play the others too. Especially Star Fox, Super Mario Kart, Pilotwings, F-Zero, and others. Looking forward to the new additions too, as they come in monthly.

Re: Konami Plans To Work With More "Globally Known IPs" In The Future

Lawnachaun

More "Globally Known IPs", huh. So, we can expect more entries in these series then;

Rush'n Attack
Twinbee
Double Dribble
Contra
Life Force
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Gradius
Aliens
The Simpsons
X-Men
Lethal Enforcers
G.I. Joe
Beatmania
Dance Dance Revolution
Metal Gear
Silent Hill
Frogger
The Legend of the Mystical Ninja

and others.. or, are they planning on doing what they did with pre-existing "globally known franchises", like Aliens, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and The Simpsons, and make something new based on something that was already well known.

Re: Zelda: Link's Awakening Pre-Orders Updated With Extra Freebies On Nintendo UK Store

Lawnachaun

The Link Keychain in the Keychain Pack is the same exact Link Keychain that I got for playing The Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awaking at the big San Diego Comic Con this year. I got that same exact keychain for playing this game, a Luigi's Mansion 3 branded Flashlight for playing that game, a Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Comic Book for playing that game, and a 2 Pack Gold & Silver Splatoon 2 Keychain set for Checking-In with my MyNintendo.com Account.

Re: Random: Mario Without His Mustache Just Doesn't Look Right

Lawnachaun

My dad had a mustache the entire time I knew him, growing up. He had it since before my siblings and I were born, and when I was about 15 or 16 years old, he finally decided to shave it off for good. The first time my siblings and I saw him without a mustache, he looked totally weird to us without it. It just felt like something wasn't quite right. We had never known him without one, so it was totally weird. Now, many more years later, he's never had a mustache since, and we don't think anything of it, as its now normal for us to not see him with one. But yeah, that initial look from having one the entire time we've known him, to the first time we saw him without one, was jarring. But we got used to it over time and never thought about it again.

Re: Feature: Best Nintendo Switch Strategy Games

Lawnachaun

On my Switch, I have: Civilization VI, Tiny Metal, Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, WarGroove, SteamWorld Heist, and others. I like them all. I'm currently playing Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble right now. I'm actually typing this during my opponents turn. I've 100% beaten the Story Campaign Mode, and unlocked everything. Now I'm in the middle of trying to 100% Skirmish Mode. But I still play the others. I'm a big Civilization fan. On PC too. In fact, I have part 2, 4, 5, and 6, all installed on my PC right now. Yes, I still play 2 all of these many years later. But I play the others too. I even had the DS version as well. But yeah, I like Strategy Games. I even had Chess on my Switch, and Phone, and PC, and actual board games.

Re: Poll: Vote For Your Favourite Nintendo DS Games

Lawnachaun

These are the games that I put the most amount of time into. Listed Alphabetically since I don't have a ranked order yet.

Advance Wars: Days of Ruin
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Aliens: Infestation
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin
Clubhouse Games
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition
Mario Kart DS
New Super Mario Bros.
Scribblenauts
Super Scribblenauts

These are the ones that I can think of off hand. I thought of several more, but then realized that those were 3DS games, not DS games. So, If I can think of more, I'll post them later. But for now, these are the DS games that I played the most.
