Seems Nintendo are bypassing the games people are asking for and scraping the barrel of SNES already. Why isn't Earthbound, Donkey Kong Country or Super Mario RPG on the app?. Going from monthly updates to "whenever we feel like it" updates, and nothing big.
On a plus, it's games many of us have not heard of.
This is the very reason i don't pre-order digitally, especially when the likes of Nintendo put the download instantly to pre-load making the refund option obsolete.
I don't make sacrifices for games on the Switch. Games like Witcher 3, Doom etc i own on PS4 already so i have no need to get the Switch version. The way i see it, it's giving those who may have missed out a chance to play these games and that can only be a good thing.
The reason GAME's prices are high is due to overheads (40 GAME stores are set to close this year as well, 27-28 already have had notice given). Places like Amazon, Shopto etc have lower overheads/can offset costs elsewhere. Same as supermarkets and Argos, someone buying a table is paying for a video game as well.
GAME service used to be good, but for a while they've given farcical information just to sell something. I've been booted out of a store for correcting staff as apparantly "i know nothing". But yet, they believed the Switch Lite was dockable.
Animal Crossing will be one game i'll go digital for. Most of my Switch collection (1st party games) are physical, however something like this will be perfect digital. Wish i went digital with New Leaf as i was always playing it (probably put in over 800 hours alone with that game.
Good for Yacht Club to update versions on the WiiU and 3DS, other companies would have abandoned these systems and forced people to upgrade to the Switch version (for either no extra or little extra)
People didn't mind the online when it was free, but paying for a service lacking the basic features like voice and parties and janky servers will certainly wind people up.
With that said, having Starfox 2 on the app is a good choice. However it's making the SNES mini less appealing now, personally i'd have put Donkey Kong Country on as it was it's 25th anniversary the other day.
Super Lucky's Tale, but a physical copy. And that's whenever it's coming, 3 different websites have 3 different release windows varying from "TBC November" to December 13th
It would be a repeat of 2002 (i think) if Playtonic joined Microsoft, seeing as they are mostly former Rare staff who left to form the studio to make games they wanted.
45 minutes just for Terry. Yeah, there's more to this than meets the eye. Might not be anymore characters as they've said, but they've said nothing about stages.
It's been said before, if a store in Leicester Square selling M&M's merchandise can be a success, surely a permanent Nintendo store in London wouldn't go amiss.
It's worth the cost (for me anyway, the renewal was free as my partner bought another year for me). But i'd really like Nintendo to add more to the service, some exclusive Switch themes wouldn't go amiss. Still offer themes for those who don't have online as to not anger the players.
I know this is only a test, but paying to test out a feature. Not a chance Nintendo, and on this occasion you're just as bad as some of the other developers
First played Aladdin on PC, but then got the Mega Drive version at a market a few years later. Never did own The Lion King, but played it (again on Mega Drive). Both games were tough af, but certainly had some good feels to them.
The WiiU had some fantastic games to hold to it's name, however it certainly had droughts which were mostly down to how poor the console sold. And this was down to how the console was advertised, people genuinely believed it was an add-on to the Wii. It had too many control options, instead of focusing on one or two (tablet and pro-controller for example), they had games which offered loads. Good for party games, not good for much else. And it came in 2 versions, the 8gb Basic and the 32gb "Pro" model. Honestly, should have just had the Pro.
I only picked one up due to a clearance sale, was planning to get one at a later date but the price was too good to miss. It's UI is still pretty sold, and the eShop design holds well (looks and feels better than the Switch store). And, it has a Virtual Console (and with some tweaking, can run GameCube games as the machine has a Wii inside)
Shame it didn't sell as well as it should have, but lesson learned and we have the Switch (which in turn has many of the WiiU games ported over for a 2nd shot)
1, 2 Switch really should have been included as standard with the Swich in the same way as Wii Sports was with the Wii. Nintendoland should have been included with the WiiU, but it probably didn't help with sales overall.
The Wii itself probably wouldn't have been as appealing to non-gamers if Wii Sports wasn't included. A perfect game to get everyone playing of all ages. And with the inclusion of the GameCube ports and backwards compatibility to the console, it was good for those who had a GameCube to play an extensive back-catalogue of great titles.
Bit excessive though waiting this long to enter one store. I've got a feeling it'll be hectic all weekend, and again during half term. Probably calm down a bit next week.
Have been told it's a 9+ hour wait, with people in the queue planning on staying overnight to get in tomorrow morning. There's demo booths for Sword/Shield, which is one of the reasons why the queue is long.
It's on my radar, but i'll wait until i've cleared a few games off the backlog first. Luigi's Mansion is in about 2 weeks, and Pokemon is a few weeks after.
Got both editions ordered as was waiting on if any more version exclusives would come about, and a Galarian Ponyta is tipping the scales onto Shield (plus, it has the Tyrannita line)
@patbacknitro18 it seems a co-incidence, Sony have had Crossplay in the works for a year (in Beta stage). Another plus is that PSNow is reduced in price as well, all after the high-ups change/leave too. Hmmm

Re: You Can Now Get Another 35 Pokémon In Sword And Shield
Is the Let's Go feature linking to Go working again, i fancy a Meltan in Sword/Shield.
Re: Animal Crossing: New Horizons Will Support The Switch Online Smartphone App
See they'd rather add support to an app which hasn't been updated in a long while over actually giving us a way to back-up our save at launch.
Re: Random: Activision Turns Crash Bandicoot Into An Endless Runner For Mobile
Crash seems the perfect game as a mobile runner, seeing as some levels in the main games look like they'd suit being a runner-esq title

Re: UK Retailer GAME To Close 40 Stores In "Rationalisation Programme"
@Welshland looks like it, an older photo perhaps
As i mentioned on the EB article, i feel sorry for the shop staff with the threat of their jobs on the line again in as many years.

Re: You Might Want To Put The Brakes On Nintendo's Black Friday Switch + Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Bundle
Feels underhanded, but can't blame them as they've still got a fair few older Switch models to shift out.

Super Lucky's Tale, but a physical copy. And that's whenever it's coming, 3 different websites have 3 different release windows varying from "TBC November" to December 13th

@Likethepear that would be an ideal feature to certainly increase playtime and the games lifespan.
