Masahiro Sakurai Hosting Smash Bros. Ultimate Terry Bogard Livestream On 6th November

Nice, might give me a reason to play Smash for more than 10 minutes. Dunno why I just haven’t been as hooked as I was on Wii U.

The previous videos were around 25 minutes so it seems this'll be more than Terry, amiibo and Mii Costumes.

Knowing Sakurai we may get a surprise here as well. Could be something small like the Sans outfit and Undertale track, or maybe 5th character announcement.

I'm not into Fatal Fury, but I'll watch anyways just for the hell of it.

I'm sorry, why aren't more people talking about the fact that this is 45 MINUTES LONG! I honestly would not be surprised if the last fighters pass character gets announced at this "smash direct".
Also, if there are basically no more new modes, what is he going to talk about the entire time?

I'm not as excited for Terry as I've been for the other DLC characters, but I will still give it a gander.

This is Sakurai. He easily could talk for 40 minutes about the nuances of Terry's damage animation and details in the background of the new stage, or he could decide to announce Sora, Geno, Waluigi, and Crash Bandicoot are coming to Smash tomorrow. Or he could announce that Buzzy Beetle is the 5th fighter. You never know with Sakurai and like a good college professor, whatever he decides to lecture on, he'll make it interesting.

Can’t wait for Terry, and hopefully we might find out who the 5th DLC character is.

Without Terry there would be no Fatal Fury.
Without Fatal Fury there would be no King of Fighters.
Without King of Fighters there would be no Smash Bros.

Without this "boring character" Smash Bros. simply wouldn't exist.

Why not just reveal the 5th fighter? You’re making more anyways.

With NintendoVS confirming cero character will be revealed, it seems other content will be revealed. Perhaps an updated Smash Run with more maps besides the 3DS map?

I’ll pass on this presentation. If I didn’t watch the one for Banjo-Kazooie, one of my most wanted characters, I’m not watching this one.

And before anyone argues, I’m well aware Terry is important to fighting game history and am not saying he’s undeserving. I just don’t care for fighting games outside of Smash, and so I’m indifferent towards this character. I’m fine with that.

I do hope 6.0 has some surprise feature or mode. This says there’s no new character announcement but I don’t see why a new mode is unplausible. At the very least, Break the Targets?

@ShadJV A new mode is implausible because unless they were straight up lying, Home Run Contest was the last new mode they're adding. They said so during Banjo's showcase.

I sincerely hope he announces the next character during this but its unlikely. Banjo content was extremely boring compared to persona and dq, and this seems like it'll be just as boring.

Kinda regret buying the season pass but I wanted all the characters anyway since this is the definitive smash game. The next game in the series sure as hell won't have the majority of these characters, if Sakurai's words are anything to go by.

Dang. 45 minutes? Good lord. I wonder if anything else will be there? Or if it will be a Smash only direct.

I mean, 45 minutes is a long time for a livestream, and even if Sakurai did something like button combo's that Ryu got, or a history lesson on Terry, I can't see what more could be added. I'm pretty sure Smash is done with new game modes, and unannounced fighters are specifically denied, so what else could be there?

Some mentioned stages, and I'd like to add some ideas: a big batch of Spirits, Spirit descriptions ala trophies, Echo Fighters (I can only think of Ring Fit for Wii Fit Trainer, though) the return of initially cut stages, and... that's all I have. This isn't a full Direct of any kind, it's just for one fighter, so i'm lost as to how Sakurai fills out the time.

Terry is not exactly the most exciting character as far as I'm concerned but I'm definitely looking forward to trying him out and seeing what music they go with for the stage. Hopefully we also get some Sakurai brand randomness again, the Banjo livestream was so weird with the poor/sad soul thing.

Sakurai gonna spend an extra 20 minutes explaining who Terry Bogard is, since so few know who he is.

What would be amazing is Sakurai announces and shows off KoF:XV coming to Switch, considering the history he has with that series and Terry in Smash.

I didn't catch the Banjo stream unfortunately, so I'm not sure where to find this one. Will the stream be featured on Nintendo's site like Directs are or will it be on YouTube?

Looking forward to this one! I had no idea who Terry was before, but I decided to purchase KOF '98 and Real Bout 2 and I have just been playing terry 95% of the time to learn his combos. Really great games!

@nessisonett For me it’s the lack of any museum. I used to love reading about all the old Nintendo titles. In the last year they could have typed up a short paragraph for each sticker/soul and included them all with one of the future updates.

I could buy Sakurai explaining Terry's moves' origins to the point the presentation takes 45 minutes to wrap up.
It's just easier to suppose there's more to the presentation than meets the eye. No new characters? Maaaaaaybe. But at least the "no new modes beyond Home-run Contest" statement just has to be rendered null and void. We're getting Boss Battles mode back from Brawl, hopefully!

45 minutes? That is longer than most Nintendo directs. I wonder if there will be a big surprise at the end. Maybe we see the trailer of the last and final character for the first fighter pass.

45 minutes just for Terry. Yeah, there's more to this than meets the eye. Might not be anymore characters as they've said, but they've said nothing about stages.

Plus, could have info on the new fighters pass.

I wonder how many people want a 45 minute smash direct, mostly dealing with 1 new character and already advising no new announcement for next character. I'm curious if there will be one more pokemon direct before it launches.
