The developer behind Alwa's Awakening is set to launch a brand new game on Switch called Alwa's Legacy, as long as it can generate the necessary funds through Kickstarter, that is.
Eden Pixels describes the new title as a "modern retro game full of dangerous dungeons, magical items and ancient secrets". It's a non-linear adventure game said to be full of exploration, with no particular path being the 'correct' way to choose.
Here's a feature list and some screenshots:
Customize how you play - With our upgrade system you can choose how you want to play - Explorative, offensive or strategic. It’s your choice!
Exploration is rewarded - Don’t leave any stone unturned, the world of Alwa is filled with secrets and finding them requires you to explore and solve puzzles
A non-linear experience - Combining exploration and different item upgrades allows you to find your own way through this adventure
Looks and sounds amazing - Enjoy crisp pixel-art combined with modern effects as well as a soundtrack made by chiptune extraordinaire RushJet1
A challenge awaits - Quick reflexes are needed to navigate through the many challenging rooms and with easy-to-change settings anyone can enjoy Alwa’s Legacy
You can learn more about it and pledge your support over on the game's Kickstarter page. We imagine this has the potential to do pretty well with Switch fans - the original game's first week on the Switch eShop outperformed its first whole month on Steam.
Will you be backing this one? Are you hoping it does manage to make its way to Switch? Let us know in the comments.

Alwa's Awakening was great, and this looks even better! I'm on board for this one!
Looks pretty sweet, wouldn't mind seeing a physical release of both games on one card.
Still need to play the original but I'm down with this. Looks great!
This looks really nice, i hope there is a physical reward.
It looks nice, actually.
Btw, this reminds me of Hazelnut Bastille. What happened to that awesome looking game??
SUPPORT THIS GAME!!! Alwas Awakening was one of, if not the absolute best 8-bit indie game ever made. It was an amazingly clever platformer that was short and sweet, implemented a ton of fun concepts, great boss fights, and was greatly underappreciated. If you have yet to play it, I could not possibly recommend it more, it deserves more love.
I've never played Alwa's Awakening but this looks good, I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one!
The first one, while not amazing, was pretty good, so I'm looking forward to this one.
@Mach_Rider Amazings a strong word. But its one of the only 8-bit indie games that felt like an honest true 8-bit game, and not an indie game trying to replicate the style. It deserved more recognition than it got, and i'm hoping this new game builds upon it even more.
Looks good remember to support the little guy and buy those indies!
First game was excellent, the only issue I had is that is was super easy to cheese things with the mid air block jump that was unintended that I figured out how to do lol.
Love games like this, why have i only just discovered it.
I kept my eye on Alwa's Awakening and may still get it at some point as it looks pretty nice. However, "exploration" and "non-linear" are not selling points for me and make me more cautious. I do wish them luck and will wait for reviews when it is done.
I get the feeling that the gameplay is slow by watching the trailer...
Looks awesome. But I first have to play the original (wich also looks pretty sweet) someday.
First one was good. I'll grab this if it comes to switch.
