Re: Rumour: The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword Is Taking To The Skies On Switch

Jimez

People have praised the game for it's story, however many have had issues (myself included) with it's motion controls and use of them. If they bought Skyward Sword to the Switch with the option to turn the motion controls of, i'll probably go for a purchase.

That was the one feature that prevented me from not completing this game, that and the calibration.

Re: Feature: Remembering Zelda: Ocarina of Time, 20 Years Later

I remember getting an N64 for Christmas in 1999. With it, i had a copy of Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time. Now, Mario 64 was great. It had a challenge, the worlds were great (to a point). But was restricted in terms of the world to explore.

However, Ocarina of Time was something else. Here, we had a game that offered near-freedom to go where you wanted and it felt like you were going on an adventure. Took me a few days to find the Kokiri Sword (i had the shield from the store on the first day), didn't know there was anything on the other side of the tunnel. I honestly thought it was in the Lost Woods (i mean, the Master Sword was in A Link to the Past as i was told).

From clearing the Deku Tree, was onto Hyrule Field and the Castle. First time going into Hyrule Field, that's when i knew this game would be special. And it clearly was, loved every minute of the game. Took me a while to get all Golden Skulltulas, Poes and a perfect score on the Gerudo Training Grounds.

I've owned this on every Nintendo home console ever since, and i recently finished it again on the 3DS.

Ocarina of Time still tops my list of Zelda games. It wasn't my first Zelda game, that goes to Links Awakening. But this was the first Zelda game i completed.

Now, if Breath of the Wild didn't have breakable weapons then it would be topping Ocarina as the best Zelda game.

Re: Nintendo Is Closing The Official Wii U Facebook Page This Friday

All things have to come to an end. Bought my WiiU from an ASDA clearance sale for about £120 with a copy of Super Mario Bros U. Mostly got 1st party titles as my PS4 was used for 3rd party games i was interested in. I do 1/2 regret getting a WiiU seeing how much it didn't sell, but that issue was down to people being confused what a WiiU was (look back at the WiiU reveal event which is terrible to watch then), and you can have an idea why it didn't sell (that and too many control choices didn't help either).

Funny thing is, the WiiU Facebook page has lasted longer than the WiiU itself.

Re: The 3DS Is Far From Dead, Nintendo Says It's "Continuing With Efforts To Expand Sales"

Jimez

As soon as i bought a Switch, my 3DS was retired. I still go back to play the odd game on it, but outside of that, i leave it be and focus on the Switch.

However, Nintendo seem to be doing it the right way. The 3DS has one heck of a library of games, perfect for the younger generation to get into the Nintendo family (plus, the 3DS is more durable than the Switch). When they are ready, move them onto the Switch.

Re: UK Gaming Magazines GamesMaster and GamesTM Set To Close Next Month

Jimez

These days, it's not viable for a gaming publication to be profitable. Especially when any news happens, it's published online and is available straight away. It's a shame these publications have to close down, but it's the times we live in. And sooner rather than later, even the newspapers will stop print.

I remember having to wait a month to get the latest gaming news from the likes of N64 and NGC magazine. As the new consoles came out, the name change of the magazine always felt like a new era.

It's good the staff are going to be relocated into other areas.
