Re: Dead Cells' 'What's The Damage?' Update Is Now Live On Switch And Other Consoles

@Chrisjames It depends on what you liked about Hadss. Narratively, Hades is leagues above Dead Cells since the latter doesn't really have any story to speak of. Just tidbits of lore as you progress through runs.

If you liked the combat and run-based nature of Hades then Dead Cells has that in spades. I Actually think the combat is better. Its really crunchy and satisfying. There is also progression between runs by using the currency obtained to unlock further weapons and powers.

Couldn't recommend it more. Its a spectacular game. If you are new to indies as a whole then, in my opinion, the quintessential games you need to play are: Hades, Dead Cells, Hollow Knight and Celeste. They are all top, top drawer.

Re: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Info Is Coming "Soon", Says The Pokémon Company

People need to keep expectations in check for this. If you go in expecting Breath of the Wild you will certainly be let down. BOTW took 6 years to develop. This has been done in 2, presumably by a smaller team (could be wrong there). I think it will be much smaller in scope than it seems.

Looking forward to seeing what they can do but I remain skeptical...

@sketchturner It's a combination of choice paralysis and fear of missing out. I have it too and much prefer linear, story based progression with pre-designed characters (it's why I love Zelda so much).

I have nothing against character creation for those that want it. Just give me a good default character model with a decent name and I'm happy. The Mass Effect series is a good example of this. Character creation is there, or you can just choose the well designed stock Captain Shepherd. Everyone is a winner.

Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2021

Mario Kart is such a huge franchise. 8 has sold over 45 million units between Wii U and Switch. That's a staggering amount.

Also, Animal Crossing at 33 million units in a year. There cannot be many other games that can match/ top that.

People wonder why Nintendo aren't doing the things they want them to do (including me). These sales figures are why. They are making money hand over fist.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo Switch OLED, Worth The Upgrade? Team NL Has A Chat

I plonked down a preorder of this and the Steamdeck 256GB. Initially I thought i'd keep Steamdeck and cancel the OLED. Now i'm thinking the other way. It's cheaper and I don't have enough time to play all my Switch games already without adding my Steam library to that pile.... I love the idea of the Steamdeck, I just don't know how much i'd actually use it.

I currently have a V1 regular Switch which is looking very worse for wear, and a Switch Lite for when I am out of the house. I've been tempted to grab a V2 for the battery alone for the last year or so, so the OLED is appealing to me, especially after reading the previews.

My kids are getting older so I may pass down the V1 and the Lite to them and buy myself a shiny new OLED edition. I wish there was a way to see the screen in action before buying it. I think it would convince a lot of people it may be a worthwhile upgrade. The difference between LCD and OLED is phenomenal.

Decisions, decisions....
