Update: As a quick reminder, today's your last chance to get Zeraora as a free gift in Pokémon Unite on Nintendo Switch.
All you need to do to claim the mythical Pokémon is simply log in to the game, so if you haven't yet given Unite a go, today wouldn't be a bad time to get stuck in. More details can be found in our original article below.
Original Article (Thu 15th Jul, 2021 14:15 BST): The Pokémon Company has revealed that Pokémon Unite, a free-to-start entry in the series coming to console and mobile, will launch on Nintendo Switch on 21st July.
A new trailer has been released to celebrate the occasion (see above), and it's also been confirmed that players can get their hands on Mythical Pokémon Zeraora simply by logging into the game before 31st August. Zeraora will also become available to mobile-only players at a later date.
The game takes place on Aeos Island, a mythical island said to be on the ocean’s unexplored frontier. There, players will find the Unite Battle Committee (UBC), which runs a series of Unite Battle tournaments. These battles let players form teams of five and compete against each other to see who can score the most points before time runs out. You'll also come across a mysterious new form of energy known as Aeos energy which can be used in Unite Battles to evolve Pokémon.
Following the game's launch on Switch, Unite will hit mobile stores in September; it'll be free-to-start on both platforms and cross-platform play is also planned.
Will you be giving this one a go next week?

May give it a spin, looks pretty cool.
Initially I was disappointed when this was revealed as I was expecting something different but over time the idea has grown on me, will definitely be giving it a go.
I may try it. Looks kind of cool
Free to start?? Might as well start then at least.. they say the best things in life are free.. I doubt that’s always the case though with video games
Don't know if I will like it. But 100% gonna try it. Hope it will be enjoyable and has lots of unlockable characters and skins for a free to play game.
Yeah I now going downloading it
This looks good. I always liked Heroes of the Storm as a more simplified MOBA. This looks similar (but even more streamlined). I just hope the Free to Play elements are fair.
Can we shut up about politi- wow, there are surprisingly not that many sociopolitical comments here.
@ModdedInkling thanks for summoning me!
Tencent is involved so that means a hard pass for me.
I'll download it since it's free. No harm in trying it out and I'm sure my kids will love it.
Another thing to hoard digitally since it probably won't even be a whole gigabyte.
@Arkay
I guess alleged political ties really do ruin games for people.....
I don't think I will.
hmmm rather it be a zarude as trainers club never sent me an email and even if it had i would have just given it to someone else at that point as i didn't get sword until after the codes expired.
also to anyone who downloads this on mobile, don't forget that tencent likes to look at kids though their phones cameras

I'm really looking forward to this!
Looks fun, can’t wait
I thought for a moment Zeraora was a gift for use in SwSh. Seems its just for this game, if I am reading the official site correctly
I'm not going to support Tencent.
@ModdedInkling that and moba's don't interest me
Yeah, no. I'm not going to support this game, since I don't want to support Tencent as a company. Mobas aren't even all that interesting to me anyways.
@ModdedInkling It's not so much that it's the politics, but rather the company itself being shady. There is a bit of political reasoning behind why I don't support tencent, but it's not the entire reasoning behind it for me.
@Xiovanni Yeah, I'll play it but this may be the one time I actually read the privacy policy 😓
@Aerona might want to stop playing a lot of games since they have their fingers in a bunch then...
@Primarina
It’s a MOBA style game, so you’ll always be playing online in teams with other people.
@Ragdoll72 Okay I will.
No way, China.
No way, Pooh Bear.
No way, Tencent.
For freedom.
@Primarina I have played the beta and can confirm you can play against bots.
Also game is fun. It really doesn't hurt to try whether you're into mobas or not...
I will polish my pokeballs and grow my beard!
I keep getting instakilled by whales!
lots of fun... are some players op? yeah.. but as a team you can really do well. wish you could tell how high other player items have been leveled up. That can explain a lot
@Royalblues nope.. you are all hat and no cattle. I can give many screen shots of battle reviews that prove you wrong.
