Today sees the launch of The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles, which combines the previously Japan-only The Great Ace Attorney: Adventures and The Great Ace Attorney 2: Resolve into one lovely remastered collection. We liked it very much in our review.
If you're planning to grab it on Switch but also fancy going all-in on the series, or at least the franchise's releases on Nintendo's current system, there's an eShop bundle worth knowing about. Ace Attorney Turnabout Collection combines the brand new Great Ace Attorney with the previously released Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy. That's a bundle that totals 5 games across two downloads.
In terms of pricing it's $59.99USD in the US and £49.99 in the UK at present; that prices the Ace Attorney Trilogy part of the bundle at $20USD / £17. For reference the standalone price for Ace Attorney Trilogy is normally $29.99USD / £29.99 on the eShop, so that's a decent saving.
It's a reasonable discount and certainly a convenient option, though Capcom has put out relatively frequent discounts of Ace Attorney Trilogy on the eShop, though the existing saving does help remove the potential sting of those future deals.
That's a lot of Ace Attorney in one bundle - are you tempted to jump in?

Still not sure why the sequel trilogy aren’t on Switch. Investigations I think got remastered for mobile as well.
If this gets a physical release somewhere, I'll definitely jump on it.
Was really hope this was a physical collection announcement. Will wait and see if they ever bring both Games physically to the UK.
I think I have triple dipped on the Ace Attorney Trilogy already (WiiWare, 3DS & Switch)! It a cool offer but the Turnabout Compilation would have been nice as a physical.
but why are they still missing several Ace Attorney games that are on 3DS?
Make this a physical release and I'm in.
Already own the trilogy on 3DS, and don't feel like replaying on another console. I have downloaded The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles however. Very excited to play this.
Kind of sucks that only Japan gets the nice physical box set of this
@Mando44646 my theory: they're working on another trilogy (Apollo Justice, Dual Destinies, Spirit of Justice maybe?)
It's a fantastic bundle indeed!
I wish it came physical...
I’m replaying the original (remake) on my DS. It takes so long to get through em I don’t think I’ll ever catch up. They are great though.
@the_beaver @Yosher @LEGEND_MARIOID @Phillips455 @Samuel-Flutter
But it does come physical. Sure the box is in Japanese but the game can be played in English. It's currently £70 over here in the UK so the £50 digital price is actually quite tempting
Feel like I should have got a discount if I already owned the Trilogy. I’m not complaining much, though.
@FatWormBlowsASparky I’m on part three. Might alternate between Phoenix Wright and Chronicles cases.
I'd be game if 1. I didn't already have a physical copy of the original trilogy (thank you region free!) and 2. There was a physical option for this release. Still, it's a nice offer for those who want it.
Hopefully the last three AA games rolls around to Switch. I've held off on grabbing them on 3DS just in case, plus I'd have to invest in a more robust micro SD card if I did go that route.
@Kiz3000 tbh I don't really buy any of the Japanese/Asian versions of the games. I was thinking of getting both however, but I haven't seen a 2 in 1 pack? Is it together In 1 cart.
@Kiz3000 That actually sounds cool for physicalites. Japanese boxarted Ace Attorney that you can play in English. Yeah, the eShop price sounds decent but I have already have the WiiWare and 3DS dipped for the trilogy.
Hmmm... I would be double dipping on the original trilogy but I may get this. I started playing through on 3DS recently but that higher res art looks real nice...
Hopefully The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is successful enough to encourage them to keep going with the rest of the series - I personally would like to see the second trilogy, the two Investigation games and even the Layton crossover (as inconsequential as it may be in the overall narrative) available in modern consoles before they announce AA7.
@nessisonett I will say I'm happy that they focused on Great Ace Attorney first, as the second game has never been available in the west. All of the sequel trilogy is.
I'd prefer they also put out a collection of the two Miles Edgeworth games before the sequel trilogy seeing as it's the same deal as the Great Ace Attorney, the second title never saw a release in the west.
@Harmonie The second Investigations is possibly the best game in the whole series. Hopefully more people get to play it if they give it an official localisation. At this point, I’d be hoping for them to do the same thing Falcom did with the Crossbell Trails games and pay the fans for their translation.
If I could get all 6 main series games on Switch, I would rebuy my 3DS games just to have all the Ace Attorney games on Switch at the same time. I realize the Level 5 crossover game may be problematic territory, so if I can't get the Professor Layton one, I'll survive. I still want the Miles Edgeworth games though!
Who else would is wishing Trilogy got the Chronicles treatment. Amazing animation, great QOL features, so many extras! I would probably pay again. Not sure what the animation was like in the 3ds version.
I'd love to see the rest of the series come to Switch as well.
And Ghost Trick HD is a dream of mine!
@LEGEND_MARIOID me too... DS, 3DS, Switch and iOS... I've totally lost my marbles, but I hope I won't lose my Ace Attorneys 😅 Physical compilations would have made my day...
