Private Division and Roll7 have unveiled their latest trailer for OlliOlli World, the latest and upcoming entry in the popular side-scrolling skateboarding series, and this one's all about customisation.
Hosted by Roll7 Co-CEO Simon Bennett, the video (up above) shows off a number of different ways in which players will be able to customise their characters. There looks to be a pleasing amount of customisation on offer, including body type, skin tone, clothing, and hair, as well as additional options like poses and skate tricks.
"Skaters in OlliOlli World can opt for flip-flops to match their camouflage jacket or pair some super-stylish 'Face Melter' sunglasses with a fancy retro winter trapper. Or just settle for a fashionable Ice Cream hair style. Hundreds of customisation options let players express their individualism to the fullest!
It's certainly a welcome feature, and one that'll no doubt help convince even more players to pick it up when it launches later this year. If you missed it earlier this summer, make sure to also give the game's E3 trailer a watch here.

This looks really fun! Hope the actual gameplay is as fun as the customization 🤞🏼
Is it weird that I don't like customization in games? Things like create-a-character seem to be a big selling point for a lot of people. But all the choices seem so pointless when I just want to play the game.
EDIT:
@sanderev I think having too many choices stresses me out.
I already spend too much time deciding which games to buy or not. Don't also make me decide what I'm going to look like in the game😄
@sketchturner Why don't you like it? It's great that you can be whoever you want to be in a game. I think all games should have it.
Does anyone else get turned off when someone calls their own game a 'bold new [whatever]'?
@sketchturner I’m in the same boat. Stories are a big thing for me in games and in my experience creating your own character has always been detrimental to the story as they need to take into account various possibilities and outcomes; plus makes conversations with NPCs feel stilted.
I prefer to experience a story rather than create one. That’s why I read books, not write them.
@FX102A to be fair that doesn't really work with skateboarding games like this and THPS, not much story exactly to be had
For me, create-a-character has often made the difference when it comes to my interest in a game. Maybe it's because I spend tons of time creating my own characters for creative projects. I will play a game that has pre-designed characters, but oftentimes I have shied away from a game because the character designs didn't do it for me. Being able to make my own and having gameplay that interests me just makes it that more likely I'll check the game out.
I love customization. I have a lot of fun alone on creating characters or environments in games. I get the criticism in more narrative driven games but it's a feature that's an absolute joy in most all other games.
@FX102A if video games had more characters who were not white as main characters then maybe customisation would not be needed. Facts are though that it's still a "white is right" character driven industry.
@sketchturner It's a combination of choice paralysis and fear of missing out. I have it too and much prefer linear, story based progression with pre-designed characters (it's why I love Zelda so much).
I have nothing against character creation for those that want it. Just give me a good default character model with a decent name and I'm happy. The Mass Effect series is a good example of this. Character creation is there, or you can just choose the well designed stock Captain Shepherd. Everyone is a winner.

I’ll agree and add Divinity: Original Sin II to “how to do it right.” The customization was fairly staggering when you begin the game (I had 1 hour invested before actually ‘starting’), so it was nice to see pre-load/build options for those (me) finding themselves oddly stressed out by such a wonderful, comprehensive feature.
