I'm a sucker for these type of games, easy purchase.

One of my favorite games of the past couple years, going to wait until all of the DLC drops before I give it a second playthrough, even though it's super tempting to play again now for the Dredge and Godzilla stuff, don't want to get burned out.

Jools is a joke and will never get a cent of my business. Way to completely alienate any potential customers.

My question is why in the love of god does Nintendo Life devote so much time and space giving this fool and his company coverage that they very much do not deserve?? There are umpteen hundred DESERVING indie devs that would kill to get some of the publicity that you shower on Jools/Atooi. Is he friends with someone on the staff or something? I really don't get it.

Loved this game, was waiting for all the DLC to come out before I did a second playthrough.

I've heard nothing but positive things about this game, but the demo didn't impress me much at all.

It doesn't matter to YOU. It matters to them, to me, and to plenty of other gamers. Take a bit of your own advice and just enjoy the game and don't worry if other people care about FPS.

....or you can just set up a Japanese e-shop account (very easy to do), where the demo is already live.

I stg, every game I'm interested in gets delayed. These delays are alot easier to stomach if it's every console getting delayed and not just selected ones. Was a day 1 purchase, now I'll wait and see...... it better run flawlessly.

"Metroidvania" is such a meaningless bastardized descriptor. This looks like a great ACTION/ADVENTURE game though.

They should really be offering a FULL REFUND, not a "key change". The majority of Switch gamers aren't PC gamers, and if they were they likely would already own it on PC anyways. Lame.

I'm also in the camp that thinks "in-progress" reviews are kinda lame. If it takes another couple days or even a week for a "real" review, so be it, we'll wait.

As a diehard Karate Kid fan (I've seen the first movie 500+ times, and the 2nd and 3rd 100+ each) and a diehard fan of old school beat em up's this is like my dream game. Easy day 1 buy.

Great game.... unfortunately Wayforward has done a really crappy job handling their Switch ports lately.

I was always kinda interested in the first game, so I checked out the demo of this one..... I'm no longer interested in the series. Jank is an understatement, this very much feels like a budget game.

I really enjoyed Steamworld Build, and was/am majorly PO'd that Thunderful decided to screw Switch owners out of the DLC. This is a company that obviously thinks of Switch owners as second class, gonna have trouble supporting them in the future.

Mina the Hollower looks so damn good, but man it sure would have been nice to at least get an expected year for it's release.

I had a lot of fun with this one, one of the best Zelda-likes on the Switch imo

Jools/Atooi ran a kickstarter 6+ years ago to port Hatch Tales/Chicken Wiggle to the Switch. The goal was met and enough funds were raised for the port to happen. Then years go by with complete radio silence on the port, meanwhile Jools/Atooi kept releasing shovelware garbage like a crappy nonogram game, while ignoring all of the fans who had been patiently waiting for years on the game that they already funded. It's nice that Hatch Tales is FINALLY getting released, but the constant delays are just par for the course with Jools.

The sequel was 2.5D, not full 3D.

Will there be DLC for this one that they just decide to not to make available for Switch owners like they did with the Build DLC?? I'm a diehard Steamworld fan that purchased every single game in the franchise and I'm so PO'd by that bogus ass move that it makes me extremely leery about giving Thunderful another dime of my business.

Switch version = no mods = 100% absolutely NOT the best possible version.

Microsoft allowing some of it's games to be ported was a brilliant move, because this was a game I never even heard of and now it has me considering purchasing an Xbox

Trackline Express. A great little indie game from the guy that made Haven Park, that dropped this week on Switch. Would have been nice of Nintendo to feature this one on their Indie World presentation so it would have received a little more attention.

I've been purposely avoiding all spoilers for the update, lovely having them thrown in my face.

The horrible port jobs they did on River City Girls 2 and Contra: Operation Galuga changed the way Switch gamers look at WayForward.

Japan's made up for our lame one.

Good lord give us Dig 3 already.

Also, don't appreciate the way Thunderfull screwed Switch owners out of the Build DLC.

Only game in the entire garbage indie world that I have any interest in at all.

Forget Silksong, just give me Void Stranger or Pizza Tower and I'll be a happy camper.

I don't think I would classify the game as "Metroidvania".
"Fetch Quest Simulator" would be a more apt descriptor.

Sign Guy shirt is the only one that really caught my eye, and even than it'd be something I might wear at a video game convention or a comic-con but that'd be about it.

Also, curious to know why the t-***** are $10 in Japan, yet $25 in the USA.

Short run time is a joy rather than a con for many of us gamers. Awesome game either way!

You can use your current save, though keep in mind that Concerned Ape has recommended starting a fresh save so you can see all of the changes in context.

So one review from Famitsu is enough to declare that the game is a "proven a hit with critics" ???

WayForward is a JOKE for releasing a game from a beloved franchise like Contra in such a pitiful state. They won't be receiving a single dime of my business in the future.

And 6/10?? I'm sorry, but if the game is in a similar state to the demo it deserves a 2 or 3 out of 10. Tops. It was nearly UNPLAYABLE.

Ah yes, the parent's anniversary, always the greatest holiday to receive gifts on.

I'll never understand TTYD's massive popularity. Not a bad game by any means, but it's nowhere near as charming as the original Paper Mario.

And a port of Luigi's Mansion 2?? Once gain, its not a bad game, but it's by far it's the worst of the trilogy.

It more or less is a visual novel. Gameplay consists of exploring a town and talking with villagers to solve a murder mystery. No challenging puzzles or gameplay.

Releasing the same week that Jupiter is dropping Picross S+ is an interesting decision.

Jeff Grubb? You mean the same Jeff Grubb that last year said we would see a Switch 2 announcement in late 2023? That Jeff Grubb?? Since when are internet rumors like this considered "news"?? Perhaps NL should wait until something has actually been verified?

The dialogue in Eastward is nowhere near as bad as some make it out to be, it get's a little wordy at time, but in general it's well written... and that coming from someone who can't stand too much story in video games.

Neither of them are anything to write home about. NA is slightly better, I guess.

Game is fun as hell and I'm thrilled to see it selling like gangbusters. Infinitely better than S/V.

This game is NOT a rougelike, its a roguelite. The difference is significant. Hell, this game barely qualifies as a roguelite let alone a roguelike. It's more of an action adventure game with a couple roguelite elements.

This is at least the third game I would have bought day one.... if not for the League of Legends branding. I know LoL has a big following, but I really think these devs are doing themselves a disservice and limiting their potential audience by tying their games into something that the overwhelming majority of gamers have no interest in. That said, this game looks so good (and I really liked Graveyard Keeper), that I'll be checking it out regardless of the LoL connection.
