@BrintaPap That's good to know, thanks! I'll still need to switch over to my Pro Controller for games like Splatoon, but at least I've got more options for waking the system up now. 🙂
I've opted for the GameCube controller over the Pro Controller 2 for now. I figured I'd likely be spending more time on the GameCube games in the short-term, what with the lack of first-party titles right now. Also, my Pro Controller 1 is still in perfect working order.
The annoyance is obviously not being able to wake the damn system up with it, but I'll just have to keep the Joy Cons nearby for now.
@Metazoxan I actually completely agree with you. I should have perhaps added a wink emoji at the end of my comment, as I've never really believed that Nintendo have intentionally made anything scarce for the sake of selling more.
It just doesn't make great business sense in the grand scheme of things.
This feels like common practice, especially in the states. Over speculate on their allocations in the hope that the stock arrives by launch day. I feel bad for everyone who's been affected by this corporate BS.
As much as I'm reluctant to pay for this, I'm going to want to test out the mouse controls with something, so this is likely going to be it. Forgive me, Lord.
Excellent write up! I was never really into online gaming for the same reasons. In fact, I was diehard single-player guy for the longest time... Until Splatoon arrived on Wii U. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but now it's probably my most played series ever after Mario and Zelda. Splatoon 3 has the most hours in total on my Switch too. Can't wait for Splatoon 4.
Nah, the unluckiest gaming moment of the year took place five mins ago, when I put a rival in second place within the very last second of Mute City IV. 😅
I've not pre-ordered as there's nothing I'm excited about in the launch line up, but I'm currently living in Spain and pre-orders have been available since day one. I get the feeling they'll be available on the shelves on launch day too. I'm guessing the Spanish aren't too big on Nintendo.
I think the issue with DK Bananza is that it looks like a tech demo with very little substance (at least so far). I hope it surprises us, but I think it's going to be the Luigi's Mansion of this console launch. Don't get me wrong, I like Luigi's Mansion, but it was a glorified tech demo.
The rumours from a few years back now said that Prime 1 was getting the remaster treatment, whereas 2 and 3 would be straight ports, a la Pikmin 1 + 2. If that's the case, I can see Echos becoming just an NSO release now.
Give me Animal Crossing on GameCube NSO and I'll never bother with another game in the series again. Therefore, Nintendo will never give it to us. 😅
To those suggesting Eternal Darkness. There's certain things that wouldn't translate well to playing it on Switch 2 hardware, and I doubt Nintendo would bother to make any changes to reflect that.
I finally, finally just reached S-rank in F-Zero 99 after 18 months and 17 wins under my belt, so I feel I can step away from it a bit more now going forward.
Other than a few rounds of Splatoon 3, I'm going to get started on Paradise Killer, and... finally decide whether to pick up Hundred Line digitally or find a place to import it from (suggestions welcome 😊)
It's finally here! Easily one of the best games I've ever played. I still think about it most days. I recommend experiencing every ending too, which is pretty easy to achieve.
I'm going to put off buying a Switch 2 until I can properly justify it. With the era of Game Key cards around the corner, I'm just going to be focusing on filling gaps in my Switch 1 collection.

It'd be nice to know what is meant by 'improve gameplay on Switch 2'.

Re: Video: 27 Exciting New Games Coming To Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 In June 2025
The word 'new' in the title is used a bit loosely, no? 😅
For me, it'll be the GameCube games, Mario Kart, Fast Fusion, and Hitman.
Re: Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour Trailer Highlights New Minigames & Tech Demos
@Superick I picked up Wii Play as it came bundled with a Wii Remote (at least in Europe). I imagine that was a huge selling point for many.
