If the PS5 was France's biggest launch at the time, that's not really saying a lot about the Switch 2 sales is it?

@OorWullie Absolutely. I think Sega could have potentially earned more from providing an upgrade path seeing as the original version sold so well on Switch. Hopefully, it was just testing the waters. Maybe an upgrade option will be provided at a later date?

Seems Sega's no upgrade path for Sonic X Shadow Generations kinda paid off.

@HalBailman Thanks! Yeah, I'm using the HDMI cable that came with the Switch 2, and it's in the HDMI port that my OG Switch was in. I've turned off HDR, played with RGB, and turned of 120Hz as my TV doesn't support it. I'll have to see if that makes any difference over the next week.

Have you had it happen in split screen since?

@arb93 Oh, I didn't notice if the Switch thought it was in handheld or not, but that is very worrying if so. A non-handheld option would have been my preference too.

@Cheez Thanks! I've played with some of the display settings, so going to sit with it another week and see if it's made any difference.

About once a day, when docked, I'll be playing my Switch 2 and the TV screen will go black for about five seconds. No idea what's going on but it seems to happen at random times in-game.

Wow... That actually looks really good. Not what I expected from Game Freak at all.

I love it. Definitely a top 3 Zelda for me too. I don't even mind the padded out quest towards the end. I excitedly bought the Wii U version when that came out too, but found the visual 'upgrades' a bit of a disappointment.

I've been playing through this again since Thursday, which has been amazing, especially after inverting the camera. One issue is that the in-game saves don't always work. I think this might due to closing the app too soon after saving, but I'm not 100% sure yet (save states FTW).

If you've not played Wind Waker before, you really should.

@speed_loafer Ah, thanks. So it's an NSO thing rather than a game specific bug, most likely. I'll be sticking to save states from now on.

Slightly off topic but has any else had issues with Wind Waker not saving properly? It's happened to me twice now and it's really frustrating. Fortunately, I'm using a mix of in game saves and save states, but it would be nice if it just worked as intended.

Mario Kart World (still not impressed by the gameplay but hoping it'll eventually 'click' ), Fast Fusion, and Wind Waker. Of course, Splatoon 3 and F-Zero 99 will also make an appearance.

Transformations can be turned of in the settings.

One of my most anticipated Switch 2 games. Fortunately, I've been so busy with MKW, Fast Fusion, and the GameCube games, I haven't managed to pick this up yet. Seems I'll be waiting to see if the necessary patches arrive in due course.

I was debating whether to pick this one up, as a gamer of a certain age who fondly remembers playing this in the arcades. Between Mario Kart World and Fast Fusion though, I think I'll likely pick it up further down the road.

I was getting annoyed with not being able to invert the camera in Wind Waker on the GameCube controller until I went into the button remapping options and realised to can remap pan left and pan right separately, so I just swapped them around. It makes moving around feel so much more natural now.

@Cakefish The first game I booted up on my Switch 2 was Splatoon 3 and the changes were immediately noticeable, which is strange as I've never had any issues with it on Switch 1 bar the couple of seconds of slowdown that occur when first entering the lobby. Everything just feels so smooth now. 🙂

It's very pretty and the attention to detail is incredibly impressive, but the gameplay is lacking. Free roam is quite nice for kicking back for a bit and taking in the sights, though quite boring. I downloaded Fast Fusion and I'm having much more fun with that. I really hope I'm missing something with Mario Kart World, but so far it's been fairly underwhelming.

I'm not buying that damn camera under any circumstances.

The NSO version feels great! I'm so happy I can finally retired my trusty Wavebird now. I've been more excited about the controller today than the Switch 2. 😅

@rjejr Drag x Drive isn't a launch title, which I was very surprised about.

Mine'll be here tomorrow with the GC controller. Mario Kart World will be downloading in the background while I fire up F-Zero GX and Soul Calibre 2. Fast Fusion and Hitman will be purchased before the weekend too.

For free!? Holy crow, these guys are incredible. Talk about about a comeback story.

@BrintaPap That's good to know, thanks! I'll still need to switch over to my Pro Controller for games like Splatoon, but at least I've got more options for waking the system up now. 🙂

I've opted for the GameCube controller over the Pro Controller 2 for now. I figured I'd likely be spending more time on the GameCube games in the short-term, what with the lack of first-party titles right now. Also, my Pro Controller 1 is still in perfect working order.

The annoyance is obviously not being able to wake the damn system up with it, but I'll just have to keep the Joy Cons nearby for now.

@Metazoxan I actually completely agree with you. I should have perhaps added a wink emoji at the end of my comment, as I've never really believed that Nintendo have intentionally made anything scarce for the sake of selling more.

It just doesn't make great business sense in the grand scheme of things.

Anything with Lizardcube's name on it is an insta-purchase.

Nintendo once again proving itself to be the master of 'scarcity sells'.

This feels like common practice, especially in the states. Over speculate on their allocations in the hope that the stock arrives by launch day. I feel bad for everyone who's been affected by this corporate BS.

@Superick I picked up Wii Play as it came bundled with a Wii Remote (at least in Europe). I imagine that was a huge selling point for many.

As much as I'm reluctant to pay for this, I'm going to want to test out the mouse controls with something, so this is likely going to be it. Forgive me, Lord.

Excellent write up! I was never really into online gaming for the same reasons. In fact, I was diehard single-player guy for the longest time... Until Splatoon arrived on Wii U. I honestly wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, but now it's probably my most played series ever after Mario and Zelda. Splatoon 3 has the most hours in total on my Switch too. Can't wait for Splatoon 4.
