Harvest Moon Light Of Hope (granted I was told isn't a harvest moon game) is still a fantastic title, and in my opinion, the same but a little better than stardew valley! And with both of them, they make for some great farming-simulation titles on the Switch (unless you want to go realistic with Farming Simulator). Other than that, I'm not sure why Light of Hope isn't a favorite with nintendo fans...it is a fun and great title and as I said...the same thing as Stardew Valley except with better graphics, visuals and a story.
2019...this will be the same year that Sony will announce their next console, so...duh, the sales will start to slow down. Other than that, one year of another company outselling it (again, for just that year) is just a dumb announcement. No matter what, for this generation (and technically, the Switch was mid with the Wii U in the beginning of it), PS4 is definitely going to stay at #1, considering that this past black friday, it was harder than h$$l to find one...where nintendo didn't even really have good deals. The Switch was selling too, but still, if nintendo released Smash for it around that time, they could have won the black friday market. Other than that, the Switch is doing really good and selling greatly! Good for nintendo, who definitely needed the strong sales after the disappointment of the Wii U. Other than that, Sony and Nintendo are 2 great companies with excellent IP's, the only thing I worry about, is nintendo losing gain once Sony and Microsoft ship out their next consoles...the Switch will be just relying on nintendo's games and indie games, and most of the indie developers will start moving to the next consoles.
Other than all of that, yeah, it's possible that nintendo could sell more than Sony in 2019...lifetime sales, could come close, but it all depends with Sony and Microsoft's next consoles. 2020 could even have Microsoft back on top (depending on if they actually start gaining more companies to get them exclusives). As for nintendo, after those 2 companies make their systems, nintendo will start working on their next to play catch up...let's just hope nintendo doesn't mess up and say that they're already working on their next one.
Well, they're still charging full price for the game on Wii, which I still don't get why they never really reduce the prices on their games after a year or two out, but also, the response said 'right now'. There's always the possibility, but it could come on their next console. The Switch is in it's 2nd year (I believe) and after the PS5 and XBONE 2 come out, besides indies and nintendo themselves, the game drought will start except for the 2 that I stated. Nintendo will by that time of those console releases, be working on their next console, and just like all of their consoles out at that time period (there's always a year before the next console, that there is always a big drought on the current), nintendo will be working on their next one, creating games for it, and bringing more remasters (since all of the companies are doing that) would be a plus for them on the next console. I see Wii games being remade for the Switch 2 system, rather than for the current one. As for right now, it should be the Gamecube remasters arriving on their current (and it could happen since they re-released Luigi's Mansion for 3DS). Again, this is just my opinion, but that's what I see...hold off on Wii releases until their next console, keep re-releasing the Wii U titles that didn't get much chance on the current, Wii greats (like Mario Galaxy, the Zelda's and some other goodies...Battalion Wars 2 maybe) get a 2nd chance on their next.
I couldn't wait to get this game when it arrive on PS4...unfortunately, it wasn't the greatest that I thought it would be and I lost interest in it with almost anything else that came out. It was a gorgeous platform title, but it could have been better, but I also wasn't a big fan of the Banjo games. I guess I'd rather have a newer Conker's Bad Fur Day title, but if the company can create more platform titles like this, I'd be fine with it, considering that it seems to only be Nintendo and Sony that continue the trends with platform titles that are great anymore. Kind of miss the heydays of the Wii, Gamecube, PS2 and Xbox where there were platform titles galore! Heck, I loved playing Dr. Muto!!!!
Loved Conker's Bad Fur Day...was my favorite N64 title and one that kept me coming back to the system (argh, still hated that controller to death). Hated the version on the Xbox, but bought Rare Replay just for it on XBONE. Would love a sequel (as long as it comes out on all 3 consoles) and as long as they keep the same M-rated comedy in it, I'll be fine...just glad Microsoft cancelled the one that was coming to XBONE in Kinect format...looked horrible, and as long as Conker doesn't have the same weird-girly voice he did in Diddy Kong Racing!!!!
@Snowyday Thanks...but I did find out that it is coming out on PS4 also as a VR game, which gets me excited for both of them! Will definitely be picking it up on both!!!!!
Just out of curiosity, is this getting a retail release, and also, does anyone know if it's also coming to PS4 and XBONE? Loved them all and still eagerly waiting for a new Sim City title too...this is definitely one that I'd get for all 3 of the consoles, as long as it gets good reviews.
@Gibb Harvest Moon Light Of Hope was released for Switch a while ago...it's actually really good and plays just like the others and even has the same kind of play mechanism as Stardew Valley. I know it dropped down in price now and it's available as a retail release too! Check it out, it's a good one!!!!
Technically, this will be the 2nd Harvest Moon game on the Switch. Harvest Moon: Light Of Hope was released not too long ago, and is a great one too (granted I own it on PS4 and now can't find it on Switch...retail). Still though, can't wait to play this one, as I've fully beat Light Of Hope on the PS4 with a platinum trophy! Does anyone know if this one is coming out as a retail release on Switch and if it's also being released for PS4 or XBONE too? Looking forward to a Harvest moon on xbox since light of hope never got there!
And all of the wonderful gimmicky accessories that were plopping out like crazy on the Wii, are now coming into play on the Switch (labo cardboard, fishing rod, cabela gun, this poke ball, racing wheels and more). Other than that, it looks like a neat accessory for fans of the Pokemon series, but it's also expensive...and sorry, NL, Amiibo's weren't something that nintendo created...Skylanders, Infinity were around first, and even before that, there were other things like it around. Back to the article, looks a little too small and uncomfortable, and I'm thinking that they should have made one that's at least the size that shows the characters throwing one. And the price is pretty expensive too. And, I guess this game won't be a buy for me or my kids, as we'd rather have a game that doesn't involve you looking like a monkey by swinging controllers around at home, let alone on the go.
Loved the original 3 on the Wii, bought the VR version for PS4, will definitely be getting this down the road on Switch...already own it on PS4 and enjoying it with the kids! Glad they're bringing it back...now, let's try The MUNCHABLES again!!!!
As soon as everything goes to digital, it's time for me to say goodbye to any new consoles. You never own them, and just like music downloads, if the artist deletes them, you lose out too...there's a key number in all music, and there were some artists on I-Tunes that deleted their songs, and even if they were downloaded onto your computer, you couldn't play or even copy them...not the way I'll go. Unless I have them physical, it's not for me. I don't download music or movies, so I won't be into paying high costs for game downloads that could eventually get pulled and not able to play...plus, just like others wrote on here, if you're internet goes out, you can't play, or if you're like me, internet is slow to where you live, and it would run horribly. There's too many things that could go wrong with these ideas, and it won't last. If phonograph records made a comeback, we all know that CD's or Cassette's will too...about 10-20 years down the line. 80's clothing styles are back and 80's retro items are coming back...as soon as a console that's download-only comes out, flops, then the ideas go away. Plus, the Wii U tried to keep momentum with just indie downloads (thus, not many games on store shelves) and people skipped it, many parents, because of the fact that there was NOT MANY GAMES ON STORE SHELVES. The retail scene is not dead (if the Switch games and PS4 games show, they're still selling more that way, than downloads). I'd rather own the game, that way, if the system dies years from now, I can get another system and still have the game, instead of waiting to see if my downloads can be moved over (eventually, you won't be able to call nintendo and get your downloads back if the system is over 30 years old). Not the idea that I want to hear from EA, but granted, the Sims are the only thing I really play from them (besides a few sports titles).
The games will keep coming for it...the only thing I wish the Switch had, was a trophy/achievement area on the console itself (not tied with having to go online). Other than that, there's still more games coming out, and they can continue the rush of bringing Wii U titles over (Super Mario 3D World, Yoshi's Woolly World, the first Platoon, Wonderful 101) and they can even re-release some of the Wii classics or even bring Gamecube titles over for the Switch (in the form of re-releasing retail-wise with HD remasters) to help fill in gaps. Other than that, other companies are also bringing more over, and granted that it still won't get as much as the PS4 has (seems that whatever console does the best during the generations, that console gets dumped with everything), it is in 2nd place (I believe it's doing better than Microsoft) and it's getting enough. Nintendo just needs to bring back their old sports franchise (not Mario-type or children type)...compete with Baseball sims, heck, even bring over a new Mario Golf or a possible...Mario Football??? Anyways, Smash will definitely be a big seller for them and Pokemon will help later! Ubisoft will continue with them like they always do, and I'm sure Sega will come through later too! Other games are also probably in the works now, and will possibly be announced in 2019...don't forget that many companies were waiting to see if the system would be a hit, now that they know it is, I'm sure many of those companies have been working on the games. There just needs to be more exclusive titles by other companies, not just nintendo, to get the fans rolling in, but nintendo also has to do their part in advertising other companies games (through TV) instead of just their own...and not advertise games that they already did when they were on Wii U (don't know how many Mario Kart 8 commercials I've seen). As I unfortunately, got rid of my Switch for reasons that we've had to, I am planning on getting it back eventually...but I just need that urge to be able to get it back, and this time actually play it.
Shame. Gamecube was my favorite system of that generation (granted it never got sequels that appeared on the others...Bloodrayne 2, Soul Reaver 2, Balder's gate 2, Gauntlet Seven Sorrows), but it was still a great system! This is definitely a game that would have been played! Glad to know it will at least arrive on the Switch!
This is a game that had it's short-lived experiences. I own it on PS4, and wasn't too thrilled by it, but hopefully the company continues to make games for the Switch. They've made many games on the PS4, some of which are fairly good and others are bad (Pharaonic was pretty horrible with controls). However, the company can be good, so hopefully, we get some pretty decent puzzles on the Switch!
@NTELLIGENTMAN One thing about the Xbox One is how slow and messy it is. Games become lost on their store (reminds me of the 3DS's store), it's a messy menu and for some reason, games take forever to install and update. PS4 is completely different to where I can easily find the games and search in the store with ease...just like the Switch, where it's easy to find everything. The only reason that I play the PS4 more, is because of the games on it (massive library of retail and downloads in my collection, but also a bunch of games that my kids play), whereas the Switch for myself, barely has many right now, and it seems that many of the downloads are too many of the 'runners' and cheapie indie titles, or I already own many of the downloads on the Wii U or PS4. The one thing I'd love for nintendo to do with the Switch, is have trophies like the PS4 or XBONE, some kind of reward system that's not linked to a computer or smartphone...would definitely keep me playing more. Other than that, I just need to get a pro controller so I can enjoy it better...my hands get crammed on the joy cons, and the screen starts hurting my eyes after a while. Like the Switch, just still choose the Gamecube for my favorite nintendo console (besides the original NES that I grew up on...technically grew up with Atari, but that's a whole other story).
@lumothesinner I think Kingdom Hearts 3 is the only one in the series that will make it's way to XBONE too. Other than that, it is a surprise about at least not releasing 3 on switch, since 3DS got one. Other than that, the first 2 I can see why they're sony exclusives. Other than that, just like many of us stated on here, it's no biggie and it's why most of us go with 2 consoles in our lives. I have 3 just because of my N64 dying...need to have that Conker game!!! Bought the XBONE for Rare Replay, and now I live with 30 retail games on the system (125 on PS4 and 6 on Switch)...no offense to Switch, just waiting for more...Animal Crossing announced, it'll happen eventually!!!!
Gotta have a great laugh reading many of the comments on here and listening to people whine and cry!!!! Anyways, are Sony fans supposed to cry when the original 4 Castlevania's are just exclusives to nintendo consoles? Seriously people, quit complaining! Nintendo can easily come up to Konami too and back a project up to make a collection of Castlevania games for Switch (then you'd praise Konami and nintendo for it). Each game company has their exclusives. Bayonetta 2 is exclusive to nintendo because nintendo helped to back it up...Sony and Microsoft fans were disappointed...Nintendo has their mascot IP's and their own games...Sony and Microsoft fans complain...Sony has their mascot IP's and their own games...Microsoft and Nintendo fans complain...the same goes with Microsoft and other rival companies. All in all, it comes down to money for all competitors (and that's plainly what each company wants...our money. Each company wants you to buy their console, their games and all of their accessories. I'm a Sony and Nintendo fan (was a nintendo fan since the Atari days)...sorry to say that I buy both of the companies systems, and the only reason I like both companies...BOTH HAVE GREAT IP's!!!!
I'm sure there will be a Castlevania game or collection of sorts for nintendo...they released the Castlevania games on the Wii U E-Shop, so what's going to stop them from re-releasing again! Look how many times Resident Evil games keep on getting re-released...Gamecube, PS1, PS1, 360, Xbone, PS4, Wii...! For each and every company, as long as the consumers keep forking over money, it'll keep happening!!!!
@20wonders I know...just wish it was a better Jason game coming over to switch, and was hoping that the one that came out last year would come over instead. Also was hoping for the original from the NES.
@nintendobynature nightmare on elm street was a little better than the friday the 13th. Both were pretty tough to actually beat, but I'd say the nightmare game was far better with the graphics! Plus, you get to battle the big freddy head from part 3!!!
As I'm an owner of all 3 consoles (PS4, XBONE and Switch), it's the Switch that doesn't get as much playtime right now, and I'm not really sure why. As much as nintendo has many great first-party games, it seems to lag in the variety of other games (real sports titles for instance). Nintendo should create their own realistic sports series like they did in the past, and keep them going. I'd still like for nintendo to also create their own Trophy/Achievement section to the console as well (not tie it in with an app or website). They could easily do an Amiibo Picture Trophies or even a coin achievement section...even though it's not a big thing, it does keep people coming back to play the games over and over again to try and unlock each trophy, and it gives people a chance to feel greatness when they earn them (especially kids). It's also a chance for them to get some of the big AAA games that Sony and Microsoft have. I'm not a fan of them, but Call Of Duty, Grand Theft Auto, Mortal Kombat and Final Fantasy would help them out with getting a bigger audience, and being able to play those games on the go and possibly connect with someone nearby, would be a great opportunity for them to become even bigger. The only other thing I would say, is bring the virtual store back...add NES, Super NES, Genesis, N64, Gameboy, DS, and the possibility of Wii, Wii U, Gamecube, Dreamcast and of course TurboGrafx and (just for me) Atari. Nintendo doesn't really need to COMPETE with the other consoles, they've proved this since the Wii era with outdated graphics compared to the others, and it's not something that apparently they need (as the Wii crushed the competition). I've been a nintendo fan since the NES (actually since Donkey Kong on the Atari), and I'll continue with them for their exclusives. Other than that, I'm also a Sony fan, so I'll always have both consoles in the house. Other than that, as long as nintendo creates the Mario Golf game for Switch finally (been a while since a console Mario Golf game...Gamecube era) and bring Super Mario 3D World from the Wii U over, I'm fine with the Switch!
It'll sell due to having the 'Friday The 13th' name...other than that, doesn't look that great. I'll get it unfortunately, just because it's Friday The 13th (fan here) just like I got the game for PS4 and XBONE (even though I never played them due to bad internet and wanted to keep them sealed). Still though, if this is more than $20, it's a little steep in price. Can we get the original NES version re-released, along with the NES version of Nightmare On Elm Street?
With the fact that over my lifetime, I have over a hundred games for the Atari, NES, Genesis, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii, Gamecube, N64 and a small collection on Wii U and very small on Switch (this is all retail, the download side on each is even more), I find myself telling myself, that I'll play them 10 years or more down the line too. For some, like myself, it's collecting them, keeping them and playing them when the consoles are virtually out of existence. There's many that I play to death, and if we (my wife and kids and I) play them enough times, we'll keep. My brother and I always had the memories of playing the Atari, NES and Genesis when we were kids together, so we both ended up keeping the systems and games for it. There's always that time when we decide to hook them up and play them again to relive those memories. No matter what, even if the system is not 20-30 years old, there's always that time when you want to go back and play it or the games for it...brings back memories and makes you feel young again. I still even own many of the old gaming magazines from the past, just to look through for this kind of situation.
My only other thought, and what I think about...it's better to own a system that has many games available for it (and I'm the retail buying person), and know that when you buy the system and decide to play it, knowing that you have plenty of games to chose from. Also, as my kids are now getting into video gaming, it's nice to know that I can plug in the original NES and Genesis consoles, and they have hundreds of games to chose and play, rather than having to go out and purchase more for them. I may be old school, but I'll take having many games and many games to choose for in the consoles, than only having a few...and on the retail scene, having a bunch of games on the store shelves makes the systems look better in the long run...having barely any games don't help the systems...Dreamcast had trouble with this in the past and the Wii U definitely did.
Gotta say, my wife and kids and even myself play the Wii U more than the Switch, probably because of all the virtual console games and the fact that we own a massive Wii and even Wii U game library. Other than that, I just hope the store doesn't disappear yet...if the Wii's store is still going on until January of this coming year, then I hope they keep Wii U's alive (still a few virtual console games we'd like to get). Other than that, the system wasn't the best of nintendo's world, but I definitely see it (probably about 20 years down the road) being a costly system to try and buy...even certain games. Games like Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, I see being a big-priced game to try and buy down the road, only because it was a disappointment. Dreamcast is pretty expensive now (including many games), as well as other consoles, Virtual Boy, 32X, Sega CD, Atari Lynx, Atari Jaguar and even Gamegear. Heck, many Gamecube games (which is still my favorite nintendo console) are expensive to try and get!
Retro value may be gone in the console, and there's not many retail games available for it, but the console itself will be a collector's item down the road...just will take a while to get there. The only problem I see with it, is the pad dying before the console.
I bought the game for PS4 when Gamestop had it clearanced to $5 new. For that price, it wasn't that bad, plus it came with the download code to get the downloaded version for not only PS4, but also PS3 and VITA...so, I traded the actual game in at another retailer, which gave me $15 in cash...so I made out, and still had the game for all 3 consoles. Other than that, it isn't a game I'd pay more than $15 for, but it's not as bad as what everyone states it is. Most of the hate for the game, I believe, came from how long it took to finally arrive. I've never given any money towards kick starters, as I'd be afraid of just wasting money, but I can see why people would be upset. I've still been waiting for the Toe Jam And Earl game to finally come out that's been announced over 2 years ago.
Back to the subject of this game, I think that even if they did get it out on 3DS, it would become an instant flop. As the other versions of it are not extremely cheap, who would pay probably the $30 mark for it on 3DS?
Finally. It seems like I've been waiting for this for a long time! Loved the original two and still play them on the Genesis...would love to see the third one re-released on all the consoles too, since many people didn't have it on X-box and Dreamcast owners like myself, who were waiting for it, never got it!!!!
If it comes to that, that's when I'm done with the gaming except on the older consoles. Paying full price for something that I may only play a little, is not worth it, and you'd have no idea how the game is from start to finish...imagine paying $60 for something that you have no idea if you would get the full amount of money invested into it? Plus, I still have yet to go digital with music or even movies...sorry, I still buy CD's and Bluray's...I'd rather have the cover art and actually OWN them, not wait for the companies to take them away from the Digital scene, and find out that you were only really RENTING them at high prices.
Not really the best ones there is, but I do like the Super Zelda Poster in the background of the video! I was always wondering on what virtual boy games were actually in development before it was canned, since there wasn't many released. It also makes you wonder, how many games were actually in development period for each console that never made it.
In all honesty, for just cloud saves and a few NES games that we never get to officially own or buy down the road (unless that changes) and just a few discounts (which knowing nintendo, they won't be that great), it something that neither of us should even pay for. With discounts and the few games, have it to where we just set up an account and add everything that nintendo would want. With their lag in online support and the bad online service they usually bring with the games, I don't see buying another internet service from a game company. The only thing I saw worth it with the PS Plus, was the discounts added up to the price (and the discounts on games were really nice during flash sales), other than that, you still never owned the games, but could play them for as long as you were a member. I never was a Live Gold member, except for a few days, but I never liked that because they made it to where you 'had to be' in order to enjoy netflix, where Playstation allowed you to be able to use it no matter what (just needed internet). I hope nintendo doesn't go this route if they put Netflix on the Switch, but who knows. I may try a day on the Switch's service, as long as it turns out to be worth it, but other than that, I'm not a member of any game service, so this is probably another thing I'll shun away with, and I don't agree with any game company making you pay more for a service (aren't the consoles, controllers and accessories high enough).
How is using a pen and paper counted as old school? Anyways, the game sounds interesting, but I'd hate to see the price if it came over here to the US. Other than that, it would be more fun just to play a normal board game with family instead. (using a pen and paper!!!)
As I own the past consoles and many of the games, this isn't really a big thing to lose. One thing that I'd rather see, and it kind of makes me wonder if they will be doing this by the way the article read, is collection-type retail releases. Would be nice to see NES Classics bundled into Switch carts, like a nice Mario collection or Zelda collection. I'd rather do it that way anyways, then watching more space get taken up on the Switch's hard drive, or having to upgrade to a bigger SD card.
@cfgk24 It's like going to a real concert, and somebody pops out a toy instrument and begins playing on it. Imagine paying for a concert, the main singer comes out and brings out a fisher price keyboard. Sorry, but this whole thing of bringing a toy and playing it, is kind of pathetic. Imagine how much this guy got made fun of later and talked about behind his back...sure he's probably single, and this won't help him!
Uh...not to say that Labo is bad (it still looks enjoyable)...but this is kind of pathetic. That's like having those toy cardboard guitars being played by Bon Jovi.
Well, playing a little Kirby Star Allies, but more or less, lots of God Of War and Horizon on the PS4...also a little Ori And The Blinded Forest on XBONE and the kids, wife and I with a little Knowledge Is Power.
I enjoy earning trophies on the PS3 and PS4...even my wife and kids enjoy it, it gets you playing the game more and more, instead of a once-through and put it away. This is something that keeps me away from buying games on the Switch that is also on the other consoles. My wife owns Stardew Valley on all 3 consoles we have (PS4, XBONE and SWITCH)...yup, she became addicted to it. Amazingly, she plays it more on PS4, but comes to it on Switch when she's on the go. She loves earning the trophies, as so does my kids, who play the PS4 and XBONE more. On the Wii U, I did enjoy getting the stickers (or whatever you called them to post on MiiVerse), and that was something that kept me playing and replaying. I honestly wish nintendo would get into this, add like Amiibo pictures (in place of Trophy or Achievement)...even possibly going the distance of getting enough to get a prize on Club Nintendo...something that can get people to play some of the games that aren't that playable (hello Amiibo Festival and Mario Party 10). Anyways, I'd love for nintendo to do this...maybe I'd actually pick up the switch more than once or twice a month.
@Joe-b There's too many great IP's by sega. As for Shenmue, don't give up, I'm sure the game will eventually arrive on Switch, just won't be for a year probably. The only time I was mad at Sega, was after the Dreamcast was abandoned, they moved all the games to X-box, which at the time I had a PS2 and Gamecube, which then made me purchase an Xbox just for the ones they did (toe jam and earl 3, shenmue 2, panzer dragoon orta, house of the dead 3, crazy taxi 3 and outrun). Yup, sega made some weird decisions. Even in the later generations, I hated the fact that some were exclusives to other consoles...Wii had 3 sonic games that were exclusives and various others...PS3 etc. But, I look at the whole dreamcast thing as being weird...PS2 got the Ecco the dolphin and Fur Fighters edition, where Gamecube got the RPG side of it (Evolution, Skies Of Arcadia and Phantasy Star). Was kind of happy, but wish that they would just make one big collection and continue with them. Also, hoping that the upcoming Sega Genesis collection (I think it's called a different title for Switch and a different name for PS4), continues with various volumes, instead of leaving it with the same exact ones they continue on each generation systems.
@Joe-b I agree. I loved sega when I was growing up, and they had plenty of IP's to keep them strong...just a shame they messed up in so many ways console wise. Dreamcast was a great system, just ahead of it's time, and I honestly think they should have kept it around for a little while longer instead of pulling the plug on it so quickly. Other than that, I honestly wish Sega would bring back some of their IP's. I'd love for a new Kid Chameleon, Bonanza Bros, Vectorman, Toe Jam And Earl, Phantasy Star, Beyond Oasis, Sword Of Vermillion, Golden Axe, Ecco The Dolphin and Decapattack. So many to chose from, and (what I feel X-box also does) gives up on the franchise too early.
Considering that Shenmue 3 is PS4/PC exclusive...Shenmue 2 was (at the time of it's release) an XBOX exclusive, and the original was a Dreamcast exclusive (by the way, I loved both and can't wait for the new collection...will be owning on PS4...and for part 3), give it time people! Switch is still relatively new, and Shenmue 3 was announced when Wii U was still somewhat alive! They could have already had this collection made before Switch was even a name...in other words, it probably will come out for Switch, it just will be longer than the others to get out.
Um, I could see them working on one, especially since Sony kind of announced that a PS5 will be out in 2020 and they've already been passing out kits to developers. Nintendo could be ready by 2020 or even in the middle of 2021. This I see due to the other companies bringing out a new one, and focus would go away from Switch. Yup, and I doubt a new Mario Kart will come out on Switch, since they usually only have one on each system...so a new system could be out by 2021. Other than that, I'm sure with the success of the NES and Super NES Minis, there's probably an N64 or Gamecube Mini on the way (not sure how much smaller the Gamecube could get) or possibly a Gameboy Mini. Guess time will tell! Nintendo is always at work with new gimmicks (not to make that last statement sound bad), but let's hope it doesn't take them away from game development or Switch development.
Rare was a good company. They gave nintendo the hits, but started to fade on the X-box. VIVA PINATA (a game my wife and I truly love) was definitely one that you'd play, and just picture on a nintendo console instead. Rare was good at making the cutesy-colorful worlds, and I'd love to be able to play Viva Piñata on the Switch, or even the PS4. The fact is, Microsoft doesn't seem to be letting Rare go to where they should...kept them behind the Kinect games on the 360, and left Perfect Dark and Banjo go into non-existence...then there was them trying to bring Conker back (who looked weird in the videos) onto the Xbox One...which was then cancelled. Conker's bad fur day was one of my favorites on the N64, and I'm sorry to say, that's where it belonged...I hated the remake on the Xbox, as they seemed to cut it down even more. I'd love to see Rare games out on every console...could bring them back to life. Banjo, Conker, Jet Force Gemini and even Battletoads would be a welcome by me, and Rare made Donkey Kong and Star Fox really good too! It was a shame that the last nintendo console game they made, was Star Fox Adventures for gamecube (again, it was a game I loved, even though it shouldn't have been Star Fox, and just the original idea for Dinosaur Planet)...here's to hoping that the games are released on every console, instead of just one. I'm an X-box One, PS4 and Switch owner, but it doesn't seem that the X-box is going to continue much longer, unless they're next system (when they release one...if...when the PS5 is released) becomes a huge hit.
I know it was a way to fill a large gap between games being released on the 3DS, but still, they waited on Wii U games due to the Switch coming out, maybe this should have been one to wait on too and rework for the Switch. Plus, who is going to carry that big pikachu amiibo with them? Anyways, I can see a re-release or remaster come over to the Switch eventually, especially since the Switch is selling like hot cakes at the moment...but, knowing nintendo, they'd rather bring Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival over to the Switch first!!!!!
What I get a kick out of (and the fact that some people on here state that nintendo is not out for your money...which is a lie), is how the game is down to $20 on Wii U and they're charging a full $60 for it when it comes back out. To me, it should be a $40 game, but nintendo is nintendo, and charging it full price to never go down in price for 3-4 years. Oh well, it's not really one that I'd play again...would rather play the original Super NES titles instead and the Kirby Star Allies is enough for me. Can't really wait to see what's in store for E3 to showcase...hopefully a new Mario Golf title for Switch, or Eternal Darkness remastered (doubt this one, but can hope). Would love for a new Chibi Robo, but that's another 'no and never'.
@diablo2 I agree...all games are the same in some ways, and all companies tend to copy to go with the fanbase. Nintendo has theres, Sony has theres and Microsoft has theres. I have all 3 of the newer consoles (PS4, Switch and XBONE). I love the Super Lucky's Tale game on XBONE, but every time I play it, I definitely see the Mario and Sonic copycat in it, but, for ones who don't own anything nintendo, it's a welcome treat for them...just like PS3's Playstation All Stars Battle Royale (which copied from Smash)...both are different, both are basically the same, but for the ones that don't own nintendo, they get Sony's, or vice versa. I think it's just the fact that people love complaining and defending their own games, and don't realize that their game probably wasn't the first of it's kind. And, these detective-type games were around since the age of computers came into play...I guess we can start saying that it copied off of Dejavu (NES and PC) or even a few that were out in arcades!!!! Anyways, I agree whole heartedly with your opinion!!!!
This is something that should have happened a long time ago. The DSI and even the 3DS was horrible to try and find any game on them, and unless you added them to your wish list, or (like I did) write them down in a notebook for later use, they became lost. Switch and Wii U were pretty bad too, but you could at least just go into the 'all games' section and search around, but yeah, it definitely needs an update...so...when will the update happen...if it's up to nintendo, next year or so.
This reminds me on when that lady stated that Beavis and Butthead led her child to smoke (where even classic Disney and Looney tunes cartoons depicted characters smoking). Violence in movies, tv, games or music does not cause it, it's the warped people's minds that cause it. The school shootings prove this, as people just think it's funny. Forest Trump isn't looking at where they get the weapons, just looking for someone to blame. Period...get rid of the internet and there won't be as much crime...other than that, games, movies, tv and music have ratings...it's just that there are many parents that don't look at that and don't care about what their kids are actually doing, playing or seeing. Like what I said with the smoking thing, if I remembered, the child was only 13...Beavis and Butthead was rated for mature audiences at that time (which would be like a 17 or 21 year old), so why was that kid even watching it. Just amazing how people need something to blame.
Eh...wait until the Switch goes through it's 2 year lifespan...eventually, they'll add the free games for the rewards, then people will be happy again. Yeah, I miss the Club Nintendo days of getting some nice rewards (still have the items) and cashing in the points for free e-shop games, but I feel that at least the free games will come eventually. The only part of this new part, is the fact that the coins expire quickly instead of being able to stockpile them.
Someone on here actually told me that Sony and Microsoft just want your money and nintendo doesn't. That person must have been hallucinating, because I think all 3 companies want your money, which is why nintendo is showing their pig-side too. Absolutely no reason for it to be this high in price...could be $40, but it shows that nintendo is wanting more money for it since the Wii U's flopped days. Anyways, I'll take the original 3 donkey kong country games over the newest ones, but would rather have a brand new donkey kong game instead on the Switch.

Re: Review: Harvest Life - An Unpolished Farm Sim That Lacks The Charm Of Its Influences
Re: Watch Out Sony, A New Report Predicts The Switch Will Outsell The PS4 In 2019
2019...this will be the same year that Sony will announce their next console, so...duh, the sales will start to slow down.
Re: The Dream's Over Folks, Nintendo Confirms There Are "No Plans" For Zelda: Skyward Sword On Switch
Re: More Than One Million People Have Now Played Yooka-Laylee
Muto!!!!
Re: Chris Seavor Reveals He's Working On A Spiritual Successor To Conker's Bad Fur Day
Loved Conker's Bad Fur Day...was my favorite N64 title and one that kept me coming back to the system (argh, still hated that controller to death).
Re: Atari's RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Arrives On Switch Later This Month
@Snowyday Thanks...but I did find out that it is coming out on PS4 also as a VR game, which gets me excited for both of them! Will definitely be picking it up on both!!!!!
Re: Atari's RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures Arrives On Switch Later This Month
Just out of curiosity, is this getting a retail release, and also, does anyone know if it's also coming to PS4 and XBONE? Loved them all and still eagerly waiting for a new Sim City title too...this is definitely one that I'd get for all 3 of the consoles, as long as it gets good reviews.
Re: Scratch That Stardew Valley Multiplayer Itch With Harvest Life, A New Cutesy Farming Sim On Switch
Re: Scratch That Stardew Valley Multiplayer Itch With Harvest Life, A New Cutesy Farming Sim On Switch
Re: Hardware Review: Poké Ball Plus - The Most Imperfect Perfect Accessory You Could Imagine
Re: Review: Carnival Games - Perfect Family Fun And Another Solid Switch Couch-Play Option
Loved the original 3 on the Wii, bought the VR version for PS4, will definitely be getting this down the road on Switch...already own it on PS4 and enjoying it with the kids! Glad they're bringing it back...now, let's try The MUNCHABLES again!!!!
Re: EA Has More Than 1,000 Employees And "Dozens Of Studios" Working On A Cloud-Based Future
Re: Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa On Missing Analyst Estimates: “The Holiday Season Battle Begins Now”
The games will keep coming for it...the only thing I wish the Switch had, was a trophy/achievement area on the console itself (not tied with having to go online).
Re: You Can Thank The GameCube For Katamari Damacy, According To Creator Keita Takahashi
Re: Review: Tricky Towers - A Tetris-Like Puzzler Best Suited To Multiplayer Madness
@exopiscea Eggmania was a lot more fun!
Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition
Re: Konami Confirms There Are "Absolutely No Plans" To Bring Castlevania Requiem To Other Systems
Re: Konami Confirms There Are "Absolutely No Plans" To Bring Castlevania Requiem To Other Systems
@Royalblues My thoughts exactly! The same kind of statement that I put on!!!!!!
Re: Konami Confirms There Are "Absolutely No Plans" To Bring Castlevania Requiem To Other Systems
Re: Horror Classic Friday The 13th Is Headed To Switch In Puzzle Form
@20wonders I know...just wish it was a better Jason game coming over to switch, and was hoping that the one that came out last year would come over instead. Also was hoping for the original from the NES.
Re: Horror Classic Friday The 13th Is Headed To Switch In Puzzle Form
@nintendobynature nightmare on elm street was a little better than the friday the 13th. Both were pretty tough to actually beat, but I'd say the nightmare game was far better with the graphics! Plus, you get to battle the big freddy head from part 3!!!
Re: Reggie Says Nintendo Competes For Consumer Time, Not Concerned About Direct Competition
Re: Horror Classic Friday The 13th Is Headed To Switch In Puzzle Form
It'll sell due to having the 'Friday The 13th' name...other than that, doesn't look that great. I'll get it unfortunately, just because it's Friday The 13th (fan here) just like I got the game for PS4 and XBONE (even though I never played them due to bad internet and wanted to keep them sealed). Still though, if this is more than $20, it's a little steep in price. Can we get the original NES version re-released, along with the NES version of Nightmare On Elm Street?
Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Want More Games When We've Already Got Too Many?
Re: Wii U Receives First System Firmware Update Since 2017
Gotta say, my wife and kids and even myself play the Wii U more than the Switch, probably because of all the virtual console games and the fact that we own a massive Wii and even Wii U game library.
Re: Original Developer Working On Handheld Versions Of Mighty No. 9 Reveals “Zero Progress” Was Made
I bought the game for PS4 when Gamestop had it clearanced to $5 new.
Re: ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove Now Aiming For Fall Release After Initial Delay
Finally. It seems like I've been waiting for this for a long time! Loved the original two and still play them on the Genesis...would love to see the third one re-released on all the consoles too, since many people didn't have it on X-box and Dreamcast owners like myself, who were waiting for it, never got it!!!!
Re: US Research Analyst Believes Gaming Could Become 100% Digital By 2022
If it comes to that, that's when I'm done with the gaming except on the older consoles.
Re: Video: Some Mario Games Just Can't Properly Be Played Anymore
Not really the best ones there is, but I do like the Super Zelda Poster in the background of the video! I was always wondering on what virtual boy games were actually in development before it was canned, since there wasn't many released. It also makes you wonder, how many games were actually in development period for each console that never made it.
Re: Soapbox: Let's Give Nintendo Switch Online A Chance Before We Throw It To The Wolves
Re: You'll Need Pen And Paper To Play This Nintendo Switch Role-Playing Game
How is using a pen and paper counted as old school? Anyways, the game sounds interesting, but I'd hate to see the price if it came over here to the US. Other than that, it would be more fun just to play a normal board game with family instead. (using a pen and paper!!!)
Re: The Virtual Console Isn't Coming To Switch, Nintendo Confirms
As I own the past consoles and many of the games, this isn't really a big thing to lose. One thing that I'd rather see, and it kind of makes me wonder if they will be doing this by the way the article read, is collection-type retail releases. Would be nice to see NES Classics bundled into Switch carts, like a nice Mario collection or Zelda collection. I'd rather do it that way anyways, then watching more space get taken up on the Switch's hard drive, or having to upgrade to a bigger SD card.
Re: Video: See Nintendo Labo's Piano Making Its On-Stage Debut
@cfgk24 It's like going to a real concert, and somebody pops out a toy instrument and begins playing on it. Imagine paying for a concert, the main singer comes out and brings out a fisher price keyboard. Sorry, but this whole thing of bringing a toy and playing it, is kind of pathetic. Imagine how much this guy got made fun of later and talked about behind his back...sure he's probably single, and this won't help him!
Re: Video: See Nintendo Labo's Piano Making Its On-Stage Debut
Uh...not to say that Labo is bad (it still looks enjoyable)...but this is kind of pathetic. That's like having those toy cardboard guitars being played by Bon Jovi.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend?
Well, playing a little Kirby Star Allies, but more or less, lots of God Of War and Horizon on the PS4...also a little Ori And The Blinded Forest on XBONE and the kids, wife and I with a little Knowledge Is Power.
Re: Soapbox: How Nintendo Switch Helped Break My Crippling Obsession With Achievements
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
Re: Sega Reveals Shenmue 1 & 2 Remaster, But It's Skipping Switch
Considering that Shenmue 3 is PS4/PC exclusive...Shenmue 2 was (at the time of it's release) an XBOX exclusive, and the original was a Dreamcast exclusive (by the way, I loved both and can't wait for the new collection...will be owning on PS4...and for part 3), give it time people! Switch is still relatively new, and Shenmue 3 was announced when Wii U was still somewhat alive! They could have already had this collection made before Switch was even a name...in other words, it probably will come out for Switch, it just will be longer than the others to get out.
Re: Nintendo's Shinya Takahashi Hints That A New Games System Is On The Horizon
Re: Soapbox: With Microsoft Playing Ball, It’s Finally Time For Banjo-Kazooie To Return To Nintendo
Re: Detective Pikachu Is Off The Case As It Debuts At Number 23 In The UK Charts
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze's Switch File Is Almost Half The Size Of The Wii U Version
Re: Review: Detective Pikachu (3DS)
Re: Nintendo Plans To Increase "discoverability and visibility" On The Switch eShop
@Mikemario It doesn't work too well here either. I've even tried it on the Playstation, and it's still kind of difficult.
Re: Nintendo Plans To Increase "discoverability and visibility" On The Switch eShop
Re: The Games Industry Reacts To The White House's Violent Games Showreel
@Donutman Next they'll blame the violence on the bible! It's always a blame game instead of thinking.
Re: The Games Industry Reacts To The White House's Violent Games Showreel
Re: Soapbox: My Nintendo's Updated Rewards Scheme Is Anything But Rewarding
Eh...wait until the Switch goes through it's 2 year lifespan...eventually, they'll add the free games for the rewards, then people will be happy again. Yeah, I miss the Club Nintendo days of getting some nice rewards (still have the items) and cashing in the points for free e-shop games, but I feel that at least the free games will come eventually. The only part of this new part, is the fact that the coins expire quickly instead of being able to stockpile them.
Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Will Get A Retail Release (But It'll Cost You $60)
Someone on here actually told me that Sony and Microsoft just want your money and nintendo doesn't.
