Atari has revealed that RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures will be hurtling towards a Switch near you later this month, releasing in Europe on 29th November and slightly later on 13th December in North America.
To celebrate the occasion, a brand new trailer has been released (which you can watch above), giving us a quick look at how you'll be designing your own theme park and the kinds of rides and environments you'll have at your disposal. We're told that this new, fully-featured entry to the series has been "built from the ground up to take advantage of the Switch's best features", with docked and handheld modes both supported as you might expect.

If you want to see more of the game before its release, make sure to check out this second video included below. This video is from a GDC 2018 gameplay demonstration in which the game's executive producer takes us through the sandbox mode, starting right at the very beginning and creating a brand new park.
Are you looking forward to this one? Are you a fan of the Rollercoaster Tycoon series? Let us know with a comment.

A lot of fun memories with roller coaster tycoon. I miss when you could make death traps.
I loved RCT until the 2nd one. The ones in 3D where not as good. This looks good, but I'll be waiting for a review...
This doesn't look bad, might consider it. Had lots of fun with RCT Classic on iPad. Will wait for a review!
Ok..... NO MORE CRAP E-SHOP GAMES ON SWITCH!!!!
Dont know if Atari can get this title right. It seems by the GDC vídeo that it was based on the mobile game but without the microtransactions. Thats good news. Ill wait for a sale
Just some friendly advice for anyone who wants to buy this: we're talking about Atari here. Just wait for the reviews before buying.
It's your own choice ofcourse.
If it's good I might get it, I have a feeling however it will be average at best.....
Planet Coaster is the only roller coaster tycoon game I want to play.
@Danjel Yet this is a straight port of the terrible Roller Coaster Tycoon Touch on Mobile, just that they remove the Cash grab store with the Switch port.
It's an absolute barebones cash grab game that has the Roller Coaster Tycoon title on it, yet doesn't even come anywhere close to the classic games and it's features, since it's lacking almost all of them.
Sorry, I don't like 3D RollerCoaster Tycoon games. So this is probably a pass from me.
this looks average at best i wish the had ported rtc classic instead of this but it might surprise us and actually be good i am slightly off put by the lack of footage from amy kind of coaster builder it seems from the first video you just drop in a pre-built one unless they haven't shown us how to make custom coasters yet
This doesn't look bad. I wonder if all the negativity comes from Atari's recent bad reputation or that there's actual reason to think this particular game is bad? I'll be smart though and wait for reviews.
@Jeronan Incorrect, it's line for line an entirely different game with the only commonality to Touch that they're asset flipping things such as 3D models from it to save time and stay within a small budget. Watch the dev video.
I wish you could actually ride the rollercoasters after you create them.
But had enough annoyance playing these types of games with Theme Park back on the SNES when I was a kid
I like Transport Tycoon more. This one is the game that I want on Switch.
Just out of curiosity, is this getting a retail release, and also, does anyone know if it's also coming to PS4 and XBONE? Loved them all and still eagerly waiting for a new Sim City title too...this is definitely one that I'd get for all 3 of the consoles, as long as it gets good reviews.
I love RCT. One of my favorite games all time and literally spent hundreds of hours on it.
1) This looks stripped down from the original.
2) Year age or so when the Atari CEO released a video about the game he basically told us it’s all about money and we need to buy to support him. I’ve never seen a video where someone seemed slimier. (Can’t find it now)
Not buying.
Will this also come in physical? (Looking at the box at the end of the trailer)
Cant find it anywhere on amazon UK.
Been an RCT fan since the original released. Spent hundreds of hours on the original and second games as a kid. I'm so disappointed in this release because it's blatantly obvious it's just a port of the mobile game with maybe a few enhancements, which was just a stripped down, soulless, wannabe version of RCT. Here's to waiting for a proper 2D or 2.5D RCT.
It actually doesn't look too bad, at least from a portable aspect.
Seriously??
The only roller coaster game that matters anymore is Planet Coaster.
Everyone needs to forget that RCT is even a thing anymore. Atari blows chunks.
@ImagineerNik Anybody who doesn't know this by now, needs to know this by now.
...Tycoons have Adventure modes now?
A French publisher buys the name of a defunct American platform manufacturer and comissions a Canadian studio to make a new game for a franchise they nicked from a Scotsman.
And through a Swedish distributor it will be available two weeks from now here in Denmark for a Japanese console manufactured in China.
THAT'S globalisation at work!
I have Rollercoaster Tycoon Classic on my phone so there's no need for me to buy this. It's a combination of 1 and 2 remade for touchscreens and it's a dream to play. The best part is that it's a one time purchase with no micro transactions, with the expansion packs available as DLC instead.
This franchise has fallen so hard since its glory days that it's hard to be optimistic about this.
I'll get it once it goes on sale. How bout some love from your other IPs too Atari, I would love to play Tempest 4000 on Switch as well.
@Joeynator3000 Like a campaign mode? They always had.
@Octane I mean...I've figured there was a Campaign....but....Adventure? lol
@toiletduck This game looks incredibly shallow. If you want a proper RCT experience, I urge you to buy RCT1 or 2 on GOG or Steam.
@Octane thanks. I'm currently only interested in a game like this if it's on switch though. I've played quite a lot of rct1 on pc back in the day. I was kinda hoping this would be a slightly more polished version of that game. We'll see what the reviewers have to say
I'll wait for the reviews to roll in before considering this one.
@Patrick-Sukiyaki - Obviously you do not know that many people likes this game. Lovely dislikes you have there too. (If you haven't played the game, don't comment crap comments)
@toiletduck Well, I hope the reviewers have played RCT1 and 2 back in the day and have something to compare it with. I can easily see them going ''It's on Switch, so 9/10!''. Find someone who knows what they're talking about with games like this. It's been a while, so there's a good chance a reviews hasn't experienced a RCT game before.
@Bunkerneath you can but don’t know if it’s in there for Launch
@JLPick yes it is and it’s exclusive to Nintendo Switch
@JnFnRu it’s exclusive for Argos in UK
@Snowyday Thanks. Strange but ok
@JnFnRu yeah https://twitter.com/maximumgames_uk/status/1063447761713012741?s=21
@Ricube RCT2 was still 2D.
Hopefully this turns out well, but RCT Classic and RCT3 are amazing on my iPad.
@Snowyday @JnFnRu Base.com.and Shopto.net both have it up also. Are we sure its exclusive to Argos? Could be just the publisher has a deal to push it through them like many do with GAME over here.
@XenoShaun Maximum Games UK said in a Facebook message to me Hi Andres, yes we are distributing this title in the UK and it will be available exclusively from Argos
@Snowyday Alright great thanks. Will keep an eye over at argos then.
@XenoShaun https://www.argos.co.uk/product/8689038
Zero interest- waiting for Atari Flashback however!!
@Snowyday Thanks...but I did find out that it is coming out on PS4 also as a VR game, which gets me excited for both of them! Will definitely be picking it up on both!!!!!
All strategy games are welcome on Switch!
I'm still waiting for Heroes of Might & Magic! ;D
quick someone give me a dollar for each time this guy said 'uh' or 'um' so I can retire..
@JLPick RollerCoaster Tycoon Adventures won’t be comeing to PS4 the PS4 game is called RollerCoaster Tycoon Joyride
