Still remember purchasing CBFD in stores...the bag around it so kids wouldn't see it. Loved it since day one, and it was the first N64 game I played all the way through...great game for a system that I couldn't stand the controller. I also remember nintendo really putting the game down and barely (if not at all) mentioning it. Rare was a great company back in the days, but anymore, as they're controlled by Microsoft, they're not doing much at all. To anyone that wants to replay this gem, it is on the Rare Replay disc for XBONE, and they didn't cut it like they did on the Xbox version (that version was a little too cut).
A great game on the PS4 that I greatly enjoyed, the scenery was fantastic and the plot was pretty decent too, but not one that I'd double dip on, unless the price was right for it (and for me, $10 or less, and I know it won't be that price). Guess I'll wait for it to go on sale...hopefully it's getting a physical release.
Gee...much better than just re-releasing both for the Switch, PS4 and XBONE instead...heck, even throw in the horrible part 3 (seriously, it was horrible). I'd rather have a new one in the series, but until then, I'll just replay the ones on my genesis instead. This is too expensive for something that someone just quickly made...anyone could do this at home and just decorate their own cases and call them 'rare'. Bring Jim back!!!! And then work on bringing back Conker, Gex, Vexx, Aero The Acrobat and Chuck Rock. There were so many greats in the 8-16bit eras that are now overlooked by many new players! Would be nice to have them all in HD now!!!! But don't just limit them to just one console, go for all!!!
The original was pretty good, Christopher Lambert was excellent as Raiden and the characters that played Johnny Cage (who added the charm and comic relief) and Sonya was great...even Shang Tsung's actor was good, but it does look outdated anymore. Goro was the let down of the movie and when I saw it in theaters, was the laugh moment. However, it was a hit movie for it's time and still enjoyable. A Reboot, is not necessary though. And there's a few things I can say about it, the fatalities need to be more real, don't go as cheesy with the special and visual effects that the sequel did (horrible sequel which also killed the comic relief in just a few brief minutes) and don't get cheesy on the plot or the character designs. And, make it rated R. PG13 is fine to bring a bigger audience, but Mortal Kombat is a Mature rated game for the gore and fatalities, not meant to be light-hearted fighting. Chuck Norris would be a good one to bring into the limelight too (for his fighting, not his acting). It'll be good to see it and how it turns out, but I honestly don't see it become a hit that they'd be hoping for. Guess since Detective Pikachu did good so far, everyone's up for the video-game-to-movie adaptions now...they should wait to see if the Sonic movie pars good or not.
@patbacknitro18 A better look would have been Old Yeller. Definitely something that took kids to grasp, was having to shoot a dog! But you're definitely right, there's a lot in the movies for kids that had themes, almost all animated movies have death in them...even the Land Before Time. An American Tail would have been scary for kids, but it's a good way for kids to see that good comes out of the darkness!
@Beermonkey It's just one of those great games. Flower was another on PS3 and Never Alone on the Wii U, PS4 and XBONE. They just have that appeal that just makes it GREAT to play and continue playing. I kept hoping for Ori to arrive on Switch (actually the Wii U back then) or even PS4 just to replay it...still kind of waiting, so hopefully!
@shani I'd love for Rare Replay to come over. Would be nice to have Conker and Banjo back on a nintendo console and most Rare games came from there. I could see the Viva Piñata games on a nintendo console instead, they just have that feel...maybe nintendo could also throw in a Pikmin or 2!
Good that Cuphead is selling well, that means Microsoft should be putting more of their exclusives on the console (I know Super Lucky's Tale is coming, but how about Viva Piñata, Disneyland Adventures and more coming over). Sucks for people like myself though who own an xbox one, and see those games not being an exclusive for it anymore though.
@TheFox I agree, and I'm sure nintendo is already getting thoughts and theories (or even doing) their next console. Other than that, it's still a shame that companies race to get the next one out, especially after so much money from the consumers put into each one. As for Sony, the fans flocked to the PS4, you'd think they wouldn't take a risk to try and lure them away from that for the next console, and Microsoft, who lost most of them to Sony, trying to get back into the game (which they may have difficulty if they really are going to the 'download only' style), but who knows...Atari is still said to launch their Atari Box sometime in the future (who knows when) and Google has their weird thing coming out (honestly, I know or care nothing about it). Who knows what nintendo will do, next year the Switch turns 3, so will they cut it's life cycle out before the 5 year mark, keep it going but have most of their focus onto their next, or will they wait it out for 2 years to see what the other companies are doing? In all honesty, I'd just take Nintendo and Sony (if they actually made a comeback, I'd chose Sega too), but at least Nintendo has one thing...many people tend to wait on Sony and Microsoft (basically to see which one is selling more...because that would be the one that the game companies flock to) as where nintendo basically caters to the 'second' console in the house. Unless Microsoft has a strong line up of exclusives (something that was missing out of the current console), they'll have difficulty again, and just like you said, who knows if they'd continue then...could be a Sega Dreamcast era for them.
@tech7 Since most of the franchises are already out on switch (even though some were just Wii U versions brought over...Mario Kart, New Super Mario), I'm sure they are already working on a new console, but I honestly hope not that soon. I honestly think Sony talking about PS5 is kind of dumb, for the fact that the PS4 is still selling like hot cakes too, but all companies want to keep the trend and sales going strong, so it's no wonder. Other than that, 3rd parties (hopefully) can re-release nice collection titles or even old games that appeared on the Wii, PS3 or 360 times to keep the games at least coming...could help make a few extra dollars for them and can also help the retail scene, as the retail scene is what basically made the Wii U look kind of pathetic.
@Marios-love-child Yes. The 3DS did horribly until the price drop, also for the fact that the games weren't there at launch (at least not great ones for a while) and the fact that the online store wasn't available for almost a year in. First adopters (like myself) were disappointed for a while, just able to play their DS titles. At least they did it right with the Switch for that.
Kind of makes you wonder on what will happen come 2020 when Sony and Microsoft and Google come out with theirs. Indie developers will flock to those, leaving nintendo up to keep the pace going for the Switch...hopefully it doesn't mean that nintendo will release a new console so quickly (before the 5 year mark is even up) but who knows. 2020 will tell, and I'm thinking the system will still sell, but hopefully not a drought in games during that time period. Hopefully nintendo has some nice collections and remasters up their sleeves for the 2020 mark to keep the sales going strong! Can't wait to see if the Switch surpasses the Wii's lifetime sales!
As I've been with consoles since the Atari days, then to nintendo, then to sega, then to playstation, but in all honesty, owned almost every console and own a PS4, Switch and XBONE at the current trend, I can say that this is good news after the horror that was the Wii U. I'm glad nintendo is doing good again! As for Sony, I'm a happier player on the PS4 rather than the Switch that I count as a console for my kids rather than me (sorry, I like Mario Kirby and more, but it's still a kiddie system to me). Sony and Nintendo are the ones that I would want to continue making consoles, and whoever goes into 'just digital' only, I won't continue with them. Other than that, don't get why this website always has to attack Sony and Microsoft, just like I don't get why Pushsquare has to attack nintendo and microsoft...who cares? You buy the system for the games, I'm not a fanboy of either company, I buy the consoles for the games (meaning exclusives), not really caring about the rest of the features. As for Japan and China, they mostly walk around, barely staying in their houses, so of course they're going to go with handheld...look at how they race out to get cellphones. Anyways, good for nintendo and sony, as both are showing that both companies are number one.
Still remember owning the original gameboy as a youth and enjoying it greatly while playing close to a lamp to see (until I got that big adaptor of a light and magnifier). My favorite games that kept me playing:
Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins Heianky Alien Bubble Ghost Kirby's Dream Land Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening Metroid 2: Return Of Samus Tetris Revenge Of The Gator Pinball F-1 Pole Position RC Pro AM Rolan's Curse
Kind of wish some of these classics will get remade or re-released somehow. Really enjoyed the Rolan's Curse game series.
Bought this back in the days for the Gamecube...had a lot of fun and laughs with it, but preferred Go Go Hypergrind more (basically due to the fact that one was written and done by the Ren and Stimpy creators)...however, repurchased again for the PS3 (which gave me the PS4's version for free as well), so I still have a certain 'like' for this one. Would pick it up on Switch too, if it goes down to a nice price during a sale, or if it came out as a retail release. However, will be booting up Twisted Metal for PS3 in the meantime awaiting for a new one in that series (which probably won't happen till PS5)
Unless games become available to download on the E-shop for it, it won't be worth the cost or price or time for me. I bought the other 3 labo kits when they went on clearance at Target and Walmart...$10 each was a good price then, but still haven't tried them yet, as it's the variety pack that I want to dive into. Other than that, spent the money on the PS4's VR, love it, but until there's more depth for this one (and more games that become available for it) it's not worth it to me. Looks fun, but I'd rather see an updated Pokemon Snap, or something else come out for it, and having to hold the thing up to your face the whole time, just feels like it's more of a chore than game play experience.
have them on PS3 and PS4, so wouldn't get them on Switch, and most were playstation exclusives, so I doubt Sony will give them up (would be like Sony's Spiderman coming to Switch or nintendo's games coming to Sony). Other than that, if Sega were to re-release some games on Switch, or even bring some new or old franchises over to it, I'd choose, Toe Jam And Earl 3, Panzer Dragoon, a new Golden Axe (not the bad one for PS3 and 360), Alien Isolation and please, please...a new Super Monkey Ball! Seriously, it's been since the VITA since a new Monkey Ball was released (I believe the VITA's came after the two for Wii).
The game is great! I've played it on PS4 since it arrived, and still do continue to play (currently at level 458). I've never bought any of the micro transactions...ever, and it's still very enjoyable! Join a guild, get more money for your team and power-ups, battle against others, collect a ton of cards...it's a great puzzle-RPG that doesn't get old too fast! I've even been re-playing it on the XBONE, so I'll definitely be downloading on the Switch!!!!
@Optimumjay AAhhh...thanks for the heads up on this. Thought I missed something! Still wish they would re-release part 3 though. I was never an x-box fan, it was the reason I got a dreamcast (then found out it was cancelled for it), and have been wanting to replay the game on a different console.
Sony has done it before, so they're not copying. Many companies have done it before...so if this site is just starting fights and fanboyism, then nintendo has copied. Nintendo isn't the first for everything! Sony copies nintendo, nintendo copies sony, microsoft copies both (seriously, Super Lucky's Tale could just be called Mario!!!) and then you have Ubisoft, EA, Activision and just about every other company. Even if you go into stores, Target copies Walmart, Walmart copies Target. Who really cares? I'm a fan of both Sony and Nintendo and get tired of hearing the same thing on this site, where it seems like I'm reading the old X-box magazines where it was just bust on nintendo and sony. Give it up already! Sony had their flops, nintendo had their flops. If there's really an argument to be stated to get these nintendo-fanboys to really start to complain, here it goes...Why is nintendo so far behind in the times??? Anyways, this is the way that all the companies are probably going to be going with. Sony had this since the PS3 era with those TV episode broadcasts that you could download (forget what they're called). I guess I wish nintendo power was back in publication (not just online anymore). Seems that was the best way to hear about nintendo news without just busting on every other company.
It says 'physical'. Am I missing something, I couldn't find it retail anywhere in the US. Was it released as a retail too, because I'd definitely pick it up that way too! Anyways, bought it on PS4...may dip again and buy it on Switch, but highly doubt it. Other than that, was somehow waiting for some Home Alone Reference since Macualy Culkin helped with the production of it.
I don't think Nintendo or even Sony are worried about this. Both companies are swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck, and both have consoles that are selling like the tickle-me elmo's did! I don't think this Google-thing will be a big success. It'll sell when it arrives, but after a while, who wants to just pay big money to play games that you won't even be able to keep. IF this becomes the future of gaming, with no more retail games to buy, then that's when I'm out and just relax and enjoy my older consoles with the games that I OWN!
Own it on XBONE...tough as nails, but a great classic title nonetheless...not one that I'd re-purchase again though. I heard it's coming on Switch and PS4, which was stated when it first arrived on XBONE...was waiting. Kinda makes you wonder about Xbox's future though, if they start releasing their games on other consoles.
With older people like myself, Devito would have been a good fit, but with the younger generation, Reynolds was a better fit. When casting for a movie, you have to look at what audience would arrive for it and who is up for that audience. However, to play the lead (non-animated) actor, I would have picked someone else. At least someone that is recognizable. Other than that, I don't think the movie looks good even though my kids will want to see it, so a 'no go' in the theaters, possibly on video, but other than that, not holding my breath for a hit...too many other movies that look good coming out this year (very few). Not thinking the Sonic movie will be good either...video game movies are a hit and miss, I don't think Assassin's Creed, Need For Speed, Warcraft or Rampage did that well either (could be wrong), and I know the last Tomb Raider flopped. Only ones I really enjoyed (as an entertainment value) were Silent Hill (not the awful sequel), Super Mario Bros (for Leguizamo and Bob Hoskins), Mortal Kombat (when it came out, it was enjoyable and funny with a good actor...Christopher Lambert...just a bad looking Goro and awful sequels) and...well, that's about it for me. To me, some would have to have good visual effects directors and great directors for them to do good, and the plots seem to get messed up, the art direction gets messed up, the actors are horrible in most and the movie comes out with bad timing...never put it out with another movie that you know will be a bigger hit with audience members and expect it to do good.
I still can't believe that he doesn't even look like he's in his 60's...love the know the secret of youth for certain people!!!! Anyways, I'll still say that he reminds me too much of Donkey Kong every time I see him, but he is a great guy! Definitely someone that helped nintendo throughout the years! The new guy, I guess give him a chance, because we don't know really that much about him yet, but he'll have some big shoes to fill.
Have the PSVR, and happy with that. Would rather nintendo make something like that instead...imagine playing a Mario adventure, Kirby, PIKMIN or animal crossing or even a Metroid Prime game with VR support. Nintendo could really sell this, if it was a better VR system, but I somehow see this (at least around my whole area) be like the other LABO sets, and just sit on store shelves collecting dust. I know not one person that owns Labo yet, for me to even try, and I've been waiting for the 1st variety kit to end up getting clearances to pick it up. Hopefully, this coming black friday has them on sale, possibly I'd pick one up to try, but holding cardboard up against my eyes, playing cheap little mini games is not my cup of tea...plus, the PSVR makes you sweat around the eyes after a while with it being on your face...imagine having wet cardboard against your face!!!!
Can we just get Mario Golf on a console again! It's been since the Gamecube since a Mario Golf title released on a nintendo console!!!! Come on!!!! At least Everybody's Golf and the Hot Shots Golf franchises are still playable for me!
About time! Been waiting and hoping for a nice HD collection of the original 3x NES games and hopefully the Super NES title and the (one that I really enjoyed) Genesis title (Castlevania Bloodline). Hopefully it does come out as a retail game for Switch too, but until then, I'll purchase first on PS4, then Switch and finally XBONE.
The acting in the trailer sounds bad as it is, so it will show how the movie will be throughout. And...direct to video means a cheap budget. Not many direct to video movies were good...Tremors 2 wasn't too bad, but still, had the cheap feel. The only thing worse than direct to video, is direct to TV or a Sci-Fi exclusive. But, as long as there is a small audience that will give money to see the Games-to-movie franchise, then they'll continue making them, because Hollywood is out of ideas (which shows with the constant remakes, reboots and the now, let's bring a sequel to a movie that released 30 years ago...seriously, Beetlejuice 2 and Bill and Ted 3?). As for the games to movies that were actually enjoyable to me, I did enjoy Silent Hill (not the sequel), Super Mario Bros (being a John Leguizamo fan at the most), Mortal Kombat (was good back in the day and I'm a Christopher Lambert fan) and the Ratchet And Clank movie (kids loved it). Also, didn't really mind the House Of The Dead movie as a cheap 80's-retro-type film, but could've done without the video game showing scenes. Resident Evil felt like I missed out as it barely had any blood or gore and honestly...never bothered to watch Prince Of Persia, Assassin's Creed, Warcraft or Rampage...kind of afraid to, as Assassin's Creed looked really cheesy and for some reason, doesn't seem like a game to movie that should have had a PG13 rating...the game is Mature, the movie should have been R.
It would be even better if they re-re-release (see what I did there) Luigi's Mansion and Kirby's Epic Yarn for the Switch. Actually, I'd just love for them to release some updated Wii titles (Mario Galaxy, Super Paper Mario, Mario Super Sluggers and more). Would be some nice additions to fill gaps in between games, and give nintendo more sales...as well as putting better retail games on the Switch (seriously, nintendo's own is about the best on the system...most of them, not all!!!). Guess I'm just waiting for a console-version of Mario Golf, a new Mario Baseball, Wario Land title and a bring-back of Battalion Wars. There's another one that I'd like to see return, but I highly doubt it will ever...there seems to be no love for Chibi Robo.
Companies that just release only digital (where there are a lot of indie developers that do this) do lose a little bit of sales due to people that don't have great internet, or simply don't purchase online or 'download only' titles. Sony tried this with the PSP Go, and it flopped. Nintendo would be in the same boat if they tried it, as the memory cards would become too expensive, and as with AAA games on the PS4 and XBONE, most take up almost 40GB or more.
My opinion is a 'no'. And if these companies did this, then it's time for me to just say 'goodbye' to gaming. I don't even purchase music like that...you don't own it...ever...you're paying high prices to basically rent them. Anyways, I like owning the actual game, having the art work. Imagine paying $60 for a game that's download only, finding out it's glitches or just plain bad, and you're stuck with losing out on that money...not able to trade it in. Sorry, I'm a Sony and Nintendo fan and will not go to 'digital-only' elements. Glad I still have all of my older generation consoles (Atari on up).
...But, don't forget that you officially never own the games, you're just paying a hefty price to rent them and play them. Now, if Microsoft brings their store over, and you can purchase the games and download them through an app on the Switch or PS4, that would be nice...that way you can at least own them instead of paying a monthly fee plus more.
Does this mean that Microsoft is dropping out of making consoles and just doing this on other systems? If so, then it's just Nintendo and Sony!!!! That's fine by me, only two consoles to buy for now on instead of three!!!
Guess this is why I hooked an external hard drive up to the console and just kept a small SD card in the other part...not many games I'll play on the go, so no worries there, but YIKES to the price. This was the same kind of thing that drove me away from the Sony Portables, now it seems nintendo is going the same way. Starting to wonder if I can just take the system on the go with the external attached to it...may be clunky then, but don't have to worry about buying expensive SD cards. Anyways, for that kind of money on SD cards, imagine how many games you can get instead? It's sad with game consoles anymore on how they get your money...buy an expensive console, buy expensive controllers (because we can't come with 2 anymore), then buy expensive memory for your console (because none of them can come with enough anymore...didn't take long to fill my PS3 or PS4 up to where I had to upgrade the internal...actually bought an external for the PS4 and XBONE and eventually for the Switch). Just amazing how companies want all of our money!!!!!
Microsoft has done it in the past with their IP's and franchises. Someone stated above about Viva Piñata Pocket Paradise for DS, but it's also happened with Minecraft. However, something like this will hurt them with console sales, as it's already that you can buy an XBOX one controller and just play their games on the PC (except the Kinect titles). I gotta say, the Xbox One is a nice system, but the exclusives are rare. Ori and the Blinded Forest is a fantastic game, and deserves more, so this would definitely be one I'd pick up on Switch (even PS4 when and if it arrives) even if I already own it on Xbox. It's a great title with excellent music, excellent graphics and just plain fun!
The game was my favorite on Gameboy as a kid, and even though I bought it on the 3DS, I'll still buy it no matter what...finally taking away the dust on the Switch we own. Other than that, with the price, it's the way the money-market works, and if there's demands that people will actually pay the full price for it, why not? Nintendo doesn't care about us, just like Sony, Sega, Atari, Microsoft, ETC does...they just want the consumer's money...mainly just like a department store does. Just the way of the world! But, back to the topic at hand, I'd pay the $60 for it, just not be a first-buyer. There's other games that I'd get before it, but other than that, as it still remains my favorite Zelda title to date, I'd probably pick it up eventually to enjoy it...but $60 for just upgraded graphics isn't a big deal.
Hmm...well, since Wipeout is no longer on television (shame), it's nice to have something else like it! I'll be getting this, but won't pay a lot for it!
@Anti-Matter I don't think that will happen for many many long years and generations down the line. They have plenty of money to keep them going, it's just so long as the fanbase is still with them...if they had numerous consoles in a row that do as great as the Wii U did, then they'd probably think about it...literally, could you imagine how much money they could make out of selling just one of their IP characters?
All in all, as I'm not the biggest fan of the Switch (it's a good idea, it's got good games, but for some reason, I can't really find myself getting into it, which comes from the small controls in my part...even with a pro controller), I'd love to see them continue the system, but they'll probably do a new console in another 3 years from now. The system already has a massive amount of games, Smash and Mario Kart are already out, just waiting on a few more that seem to always make their way over to a new nintendo console (Animal Crossing, Pikmin, Yoshi and a Paper Mario)...also, even though nintendo doesn't compete with them, Microsoft and Sony are rumored to have their next consoles ready for 2020 or this year, which means, the indie developers will be cramming over to them, and depending on those two's graphics and capabilities, it could me a drought in games for the Switch, or we'll get those cheap indie games that started to pour out for the Wii U. Nintendo has some good games coming out this year, and they seem to be planning them out in good orders to not have a drought, but eventually, the system will look outdated, and eventually, it'll start to lose it's momentum, just like any other console does. I hope they do keep their next console the same, and keep it as a handheld/console, they seem to be doing it good now with almost all of their teams only working for one console, but for some reason, I honestly hope a new console comes from them in either 2021 or a little beyond. As for VR, as much as I love Sony's VR set (and yes, I felt like I was playing a nintendo game too with Astro Bot...truly amazing game none-the-less), I don't really want to see nintendo try it just yet, unless they do it something great. Every time I pick up sony's VR headset, I just imagine what Pikmin would look like with it, and Astro Bot really got me wondering more with it...plus, the possibilities of a Kirby or Mario title too that uses it, but I don't see nintendo trying it after the loss of the Virtual Boy. Right now, go for updated graphics, compete nintendo with the other consoles...you can definitely put Microsoft out of the console wars and give Sony a run for their money, but take your time with the next console and don't rush...get a good game line up (eh, I remember the Gamecube, N64 and even the Wii's line up...or even worse, the 3DS's line up) and do good!!!!!
The sonic movie must have not have had a big budget, or no REAL actor wanted to be in it...since they went with an actor who 'overacts' and was shamed by all of hollywood for his big mouth! Anyways, Carey had his days of glory in the past (just like many comedians that only lasted for a short time with a high career...Robin Williams, Adam Sandler and so many others...proving that it's a tough crowd not to want to redo the same routine over and over again). Well, when I first heard of the Sonic movie, I didn't know it was going to be live action, but if they do it like Who Framed Roger Rabbit or Cool World, it could work, other than that, it all comes down to the actors to make it good, and knowing that Jim Carey is in it...is a definite no go for myself (seriously can't stand the guy). Other than that, just like so many of the video game to hollywood films, this will be another flop...and even though Pokemon fans will be excited at first, I'm not seeing Detective Pikachu becoming a big hit either. I wanted to see the Assassin's Creed movie, but for some reason didn't know...anyone know if that was actually good or not?
Sorry to say, that I'm all for retail. Just like on PS4 and XBONE, if the games come out as a retail format, I'll get it on that...if it's digital only (which there are some great games that are digital only for PS4, Switch and XBONE), I'll only get them on that, but I'm one that would rather have a console with a stack of games near it, with the artwork in tact...rather than a console with no retail games, that makes it look like you bought something and still haven't touched it yet...plus, if you bought an expensive game as a digital only, and the game turns out to be terrible, you're stuck with the fact that you just wasted money, whereas, if you bought it retail, you can easily get rid of it and at least get some money back for it. The only thing I hate about the Switch retail-side, is the side of the boxes are horrible looking...just a red side and small typed letters...no colors or anything else added to it...imagine owning a ton of physical retail switch games, having them all side by side each other, and trying to find one!!!!
@SwitchForce not a fanboy, kiddo. And if you're looking at iterations, better check your stories more...how many handhelds for each generations by nintendo? Grow up kiddo!
Still gotta say that the Gamecube is and still is my favorite nintendo console, and I've been around since the Atari era. The gamecube, at least where I was, got picked on for the tiny discs, but other than that, there was not much load time (Try playing Crash 4 on all 3 consoles during that time, and tell me which one had less loading). It also suffered on getting some of the sequels to certain games (bloodrayne, the next legacy of kain in the series), but it was truly a great console. The Nes would be my next favorite, as I still remember being a kid and saving up the money to get one, then the fantastic games and memories I had with my brother. The worst one for me, and it's not going by the games, because the games were incredible, would be the N64. The controller was horrible, and if you played too long, the sweat from your hands made the analog even worse. Wii U was okay, Wii was good for it's time, Switch is ehh still to me, 3DS was great, but it lacked it's first year due to the bad launch, the DS was good, Gameboy (original) was great, Advance, not so much, Color...eh, virtual boy (didn't stay out on the market long, but what I remember playing about it...it was horrible). As far as the Super NES went...I ended up sticking with the Genesis through that era (my cousin had the Super, I had the Genesis...it fit perfectly like that considering we were always going back and forth). So yeah, worst was the Virtual Boy to me. Still though, Gamecube will always be my favorite, and I'm not sure why I can't get into the Switch.
Also, that must have been hard to categorize the Switch (hmm...console or handheld). Anyways, time will tell, and hopefully, the next console keeps nintendo strong.
I got this game on PS4 and for some reason, was not impressed by it. The story seems go, but the constant flashbacks...and then not knowing where to go...became annoying. Still though, not a bad game, but I think I'll hold off on double-dipping on this one.
@SwitchForce Wow...talk about fanboy picking!!!! Gotta laugh hearing you, as the PS2 and PS4 have sold greatly and the PS1 (beat the N64 by a long run). Sony seems to have many hits, even the VR is selling like crazy. I'm a Sony and Nintendo fan, been with nintendo since the Atari ages. Both have great IP's and going for just one company is just plain dumb, considering all of the game companies have great games (unless you count the company that made the horrible Anubis 2, Ninjabread Man and Rock and Roll Adventures). I have all 3 consoles, PS4 is played more, even with my young kids. Switch comes in 3rd right now (not even sure how the XBONE gets turned on much). Other than that, Switch WILL NOT surpass the PS4 lifetime sales, and that's not coming from Sony or even Microsoft fans...it's pure facts...nintendo has a while to catch up to PS4, and I'm sorry to say, that when the next consoles come out (which nobody has a clue about anything about them, so you're showing favoritism by putting down a console you know nothing about), nintendo's Switch will be over half-way into it's lifespan, it will then be lacking many games, as many developers will start flocking to the next consoles (because many of those games won't fit onto the Switch), and nintendo (because they probably already are) will be working on their next console. The only fanboy is you, who is apparently living in your own underground world! Get your head out of the gutter and stop trolling around by putting down other's opinions on here...again, they're other people's opinions, not yours. Please don't comment to me again!
And once the PS5 comes out, the sales on the Switch will die down, because nintendo will really be behind graphics wise. Other than that, many people are thinking it's going to surpass the PS4 sales, and I doubt that, plus, you can't really compare it to the PS4 or even the XBONE, as the Switch is called more handheld than console. Other than that, smash helped it out for the holidays, but there really wasn't much attracting it for the black friday sales. Next year will be a different feeling, as long as they have a decent game releasing in November and as long as there are discounts for the black friday market. Go nintendo for having a console that's selling like hot cakes though!!!! What I still get a kick out of on this site, was how many people defended the Wii U and now put it down! Anyways, VITA did have some great games, but Sony gave up on it too quickly. The PSP was still a favorite of mine but the 3DS was somehow better than the VITA. Still though, the PS4 has more games and the VR is incredible for it. I'm just waiting for nintendo to catch up on graphics (seriously, the graphics of the PS4 and XBONE in a Mario title or Zelda title would be incredible!!!!) Still though, for some reason, I just don't get into playing the Switch and I love nintendo consoles (Gamecube is still my favorite and NES is in second). Don't know why. Animal Crossing (whenever nintendo actually puts it out...my guess, many waits and delays and then release of 2020) will get me to finally play it, until then, Horizon, God Of War and Astro Bot!!!! With some more Mario Odyssey thrown in there! Other than that, still wish nintendo would put the virtual arcade back onto the Switch, seems like most of the indie games are crap once again.
And once this game releases, all of the add-on content will start coming too...Waluigi will probably be added as DLC, nintendo will charge $5 or more for each of these, then we'll be putting so much extra money into the game after launch, it won't even be funny...because, hey. that's what all of us will do!!!!! Can't wait to see if DLC will be added to this though, it would be nice to see other developers add characters and stages to it!!!!
Nintendo targets the younger and young-at-heart audiences. Sony targets the teens and older audiences. Both Sony and Nintendo are great game companies, both have their great IP's...both (with nintendo starting to catch up) have a massive library of games. Who really cares about who watched more...I try to skip as many commercials as I can, and really never watch them...it's like watching people 'buy' a long-collection of commercials on DVD...oh wait, they actually made DVD's with them!!!! Anyways, why is this site seeming to become like other sites in starting console wars and hate between companies? I think when magazines were flowing (Nintendo Power, Sony Playstation and X-Box Magazine) it was always X-box that was always putting down the other companies...as I continue to look through all the magazines I have (every nintendo power and playstation magazines...and yes, Game Pro, Game Inforcer and Electronic Gaming Monthly), nintendo and sony rarely...if ever...put down one another...and they both seemed to copy one another too...analogs (granted there were analog controllers made by 3rd parties for the Genesis/Super NES era...were brought into play by nintendo...Sony then made...however, Switch could be some-what counted as being like the VITA for off-tv play, and the 3DS is not something new, except for having 3D used in a handheld, and even that was used before in the 80's and early 90's in various toys and game gimmicks (remember the old classic Tiger Handhelds...some of which used 3D images with the usage of glasses). Don't know how I got off topic, but for some reason, every company copies off of another in some ways or the other.
@JasonLee99 It's actually a really fun game. I own it on PS4, so I haven't played it on Switch (granted I'm sure they didn't change much if anything). It plays just like stardew valley, except there is a lot more to do, more characters and just more to explore. Definitely a title you'd like if you enjoyed Stardew Valley or even Story Of Seasons. But, just like you, I don't get why people push it away. It's actually a good seller on PS4, but Switch owners have shunned it away for some reason.

Re: Former Rare Developer Shares New Details About Conker's Cancelled Sequel
Re: The Award-Winning Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons Comes To Switch With Exclusive Co-Op Mode
Re: Earthworm Jim 1 & 2 Getting A SNES Reprint Courtesy Of iam8bit
Re: The Mortal Kombat Movie Reboot Has Been Given The Greenlight
Re: Movie Review: Pokémon Detective Pikachu Does Enough To Break The 'Bad Video Game Movie' Curse
Re: Nintendo Reveals The Switch eShop's Best-Selling Games For April 2019 (Europe)
Re: Nintendo Reveals The Switch eShop's Best-Selling Games For April 2019 (Europe)
Re: Nintendo Reveals The Switch eShop's Best-Selling Games For April 2019 (Europe)
@Beermonkey Ori is definitely one of the best on the X-box...amazing music and just plain fun! Would be a definite welcome to Switch!
Re: Nintendo Reveals The Switch eShop's Best-Selling Games For April 2019 (Europe)
Re: Switch Sales Pace Almost Identical To That Of Nintendo 3DS After Same Time Period
Re: Switch Sales Pace Almost Identical To That Of Nintendo 3DS After Same Time Period
Re: Switch Sales Pace Almost Identical To That Of Nintendo 3DS After Same Time Period
Re: Japanese Charts: Switch Console Sales Reach 8 Million, Will Soon Overtake PS4 Lifetime Sales
Re: Feature: The 50 Best Game Boy Games - Zelda, Pokémon, Metroid, Mario And More
Still remember owning the original gameboy as a youth and enjoying it greatly while playing close to a lamp to see (until I got that big adaptor of a light and magnifier). My favorite games that kept me playing:
Super Mario Land 2: Six Golden Coins
Heianky Alien
Bubble Ghost
Kirby's Dream Land
Legend Of Zelda: Link's Awakening
Metroid 2: Return Of Samus
Tetris
Revenge Of The Gator Pinball
F-1 Pole Position
RC Pro AM
Rolan's Curse
Kind of wish some of these classics will get remade or re-released somehow. Really enjoyed the Rolan's Curse game series.
Re: Review: Cel Damage HD - A Flawed Cult Classic That Only Comes Alive When Played With Friends
Re: Hands On: Going Beyond The Blaster With Nintendo Labo VR On Switch
Re: Sega's Yakuza Games Are Not In Consideration For The Switch Right Now
have them on PS3 and PS4, so wouldn't get them on Switch, and most were playstation exclusives, so I doubt Sony will give them up (would be like Sony's Spiderman coming to Switch or nintendo's games coming to Sony).
Re: Free-To-Play Puzzler Gems Of War Is Out Now On Switch
The game is great! I've played it on PS4 since it arrived, and still do continue to play (currently at level 458). I've never bought any of the micro transactions...ever, and it's still very enjoyable! Join a guild, get more money for your team and power-ups, battle against others, collect a ton of cards...it's a great puzzle-RPG that doesn't get old too fast! I've even been re-playing it on the XBONE, so I'll definitely be downloading on the Switch!!!!
Re: Random: Is State Of Play PlayStation's Take On Nintendo Direct?
@MisterKorman Sorry, I thought it was their game studio that did it, but I looked and it wasn't! My apologies, but thanks for the heads up on it!
Re: Switch Accounts For Almost Half Of ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove's Early Sales
@Optimumjay AAhhh...thanks for the heads up on this. Thought I missed something! Still wish they would re-release part 3 though. I was never an x-box fan, it was the reason I got a dreamcast (then found out it was cancelled for it), and have been wanting to replay the game on a different console.
Re: Random: Is State Of Play PlayStation's Take On Nintendo Direct?
Re: Switch Accounts For Almost Half Of ToeJam & Earl: Back In The Groove's Early Sales
Re: Nintendo And Sony Shares Drop Following Google's Stadia Reveal
I don't think Nintendo or even Sony are worried about this. Both companies are swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck, and both have consoles that are selling like the tickle-me elmo's did! I don't think this Google-thing will be a big success. It'll sell when it arrives, but after a while, who wants to just pay big money to play games that you won't even be able to keep. IF this becomes the future of gaming, with no more retail games to buy, then that's when I'm out and just relax and enjoy my older consoles with the games that I OWN!
Re: Cuphead Is Coming To Nintendo Switch, Thanks In No Small Part To Microsoft
Own it on XBONE...tough as nails, but a great classic title nonetheless...not one that I'd re-purchase again though. I heard it's coming on Switch and PS4, which was stated when it first arrived on XBONE...was waiting. Kinda makes you wonder about Xbox's future though, if they start releasing their games on other consoles.
Re: Danny DeVito 'Is Still Inside Of' Detective Pikachu
Re: Video: Did You Know Gaming Takes A Look At The Business Life Of Reggie Fils-Aimé
Re: Pre-Orders For The Labo VR Kit Are Now Live On The Nintendo UK Store
Re: Review: Golf Peaks - A Hugely Enjoyable Puzzler That's Sadly Over Too Soon
Can we just get Mario Golf on a console again! It's been since the Gamecube since a Mario Golf title released on a nintendo console!!!! Come on!!!! At least Everybody's Golf and the Hot Shots Golf franchises are still playable for me!
Re: Australian Ratings Board Suggests A Multi-Platform 'Castlevania Anniversary Collection' Is On The Way
Re: Video: The Doom Annihilation Movie Looks Absolutely Horrifying
Re: Reminder: Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn Launches Today, Nintendo's Final Major 3DS Release?
Re: Talking Point: Could Nintendo Ditch Physical Media With A 'Switch Lite?'
Re: Microsoft Eager To "Bring Game Pass To Any Device" People Want To Play On
...But, don't forget that you officially never own the games, you're just paying a hefty price to rent them and play them. Now, if Microsoft brings their store over, and you can purchase the games and download them through an app on the Switch or PS4, that would be nice...that way you can at least own them instead of paying a monthly fee plus more.
Re: Microsoft Eager To "Bring Game Pass To Any Device" People Want To Play On
Does this mean that Microsoft is dropping out of making consoles and just doing this on other systems? If so, then it's just Nintendo and Sony!!!! That's fine by me, only two consoles to buy for now on instead of three!!!
Re: 1TB Micro SD Cards Are About To Hit Stores, Perfect For Your Switch Storage Woes
Re: Ori And The Blind Forest For Switch Spotted In UK Wholesale Database
Re: Talking Point: Is The Remake Of Zelda: Link’s Awakening Worth $60?
Re: American Ninja Warrior Makes The Leap To Video Games, Lands On Switch This March
Hmm...well, since Wipeout is no longer on television (shame), it's nice to have something else like it! I'll be getting this, but won't pay a lot for it!
Re: Talking Point: What's Next For Nintendo After Switch?
@Anti-Matter I don't think that will happen for many many long years and generations down the line. They have plenty of money to keep them going, it's just so long as the fanbase is still with them...if they had numerous consoles in a row that do as great as the Wii U did, then they'd probably think about it...literally, could you imagine how much money they could make out of selling just one of their IP characters?
Re: Talking Point: What's Next For Nintendo After Switch?
Re: Random: Jim Carrey Mentions Upcoming Sonic Movie During Golden Globes Skit
Re: Feature: Digital vs Physical - What Is Your Preference for Nintendo Switch?
Re: Nintendo Switch Surpasses Lifetime PlayStation Vita Sales Within Japan
@SwitchForce not a fanboy, kiddo. And if you're looking at iterations, better check your stories more...how many handhelds for each generations by nintendo? Grow up kiddo!
Re: Guide: Every Nintendo Console Ranked From Worst To Best
Re: Review: Firewatch - There's No Smoke Without Fire In This Essential Indie Hit
I got this game on PS4 and for some reason, was not impressed by it. The story seems go, but the constant flashbacks...and then not knowing where to go...became annoying. Still though, not a bad game, but I think I'll hold off on double-dipping on this one.
Re: Nintendo Switch Surpasses Lifetime PlayStation Vita Sales Within Japan
Re: Nintendo Switch Surpasses Lifetime PlayStation Vita Sales Within Japan
Re: Review: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate - The Absolute Pinnacle Of Nintendo's Fighting Series
Re: Nintendo's Holiday Television Advertising Promotes Pokémon, As PlayStation Once Again Takes Out Top Spot
Re: Review: Harvest Life - An Unpolished Farm Sim That Lacks The Charm Of Its Influences
