Re: Round Up: The First Impressions Of Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince Are In

I didn't care much for the game, but seeing those positive reviews makes me want to get it.

As someone who likes DQ4 a lot, I don't get the same dark vibe here with the character design and the vibe of the trailers. I don't want to spoil anything, but if this game is faithful to DQ4...it should be dark. If the story is really in line with DQ4 I'm definitly getting this.

Re: Sonic Superstars' Sales Were 'Slightly Weaker' Than Sega Had Anticipated

Isaix

Not sure what they were expecting. They never listen to their fans, then they make Pikachu faces when the fans don't buy their games.

Superstars is a step in the right direction for sure, but the game is way too expensive for what it is and if Whitehead and his team want to be in charge of the next Sonic game just let them. Give them full control to do what they want; Mania 2, a new 3D game, it doesn't matter. They've more than proven themselves with Mania and the mobile ports of Sonic 1, 2 and CD.

Re: Sakurai Is Sceptical That Future Smash Bros. Titles Can Match Ultimate's Scope

Isaix

They should just port Ultimate on the next console. Add like 10 new characters, 10 new stages, buff and nerf certain characters and add a new story. Focus all the game developpement on a big story mode like Brawl, but even better, come up with fun level design and I think most people would be happy.

Smash Ultimate really is the Ultimate Smash Bros. game.

Re: Sonic Frontiers Is Out Today On Switch, Are You Getting It?

Isaix

The game looks ok, but I'm still not convince. For now the game has too many red flags. Most reviews seem positive, but there seem to be issues that shouldn't be issues like those Cyberspace level, why would the controls be terrible? and why are they reusing level design. The whole thing seem slightly off and makes me not want to get it. I'll wait and see

Re: Sonic Team Head: Sonic Frontiers And Breath Of The Wild Are "Not Similar At All"

Botw didn't invent openworld, but let's not lie to ourselves here, those first trailers and gameplay clearly evoke a Botw feel with the openworld on the green grassy feel, looking at the distant view, climbing a tower, piano music come on. I know Botw didn't invent any of it, but the combination of those things and the fact that Botw is in our mind because we've all played it a few years ago is why we make the comparason. Sonic Team wanted to evoke the feel whether they realized it or not.

I mean why show the first world then? Why not show the 2nd world and make a trailer more focused on action with techno music? Why allow Sonic to suddenly climb walls? In the classic wall-running was based on Sonic's speed, why not stick to that and platforming to climb tower? Lost World had parcour, but it wasn't nearly as good.

Re: Sega Reflects On Sonic Mania, Says It Was A Defining Moment For The Blue Blur

Isaix

@thinkhector Music is subjective, but personally I think the prototype tracks are all terrible, even in their original states. 2D Sonic sounds much better than this usually. Sonic 1, 2, CD and the Advance trilogy blow the Sonic 3 prototype tracks out of the water. Heck even Sonic 4 has better music. I was hoping they'd take Sonic 3D blast music to replace the Sonic 3 music, but that was wishful thinking

Re: Sega Reflects On Sonic Mania, Says It Was A Defining Moment For The Blue Blur

I just wish they could make other Sonic games as polished as Mania. With Whitehead, Taxman and the rest, they could easily replicate Mania's success if you give them time. Origins is great, but it should have been more, it should have been an easy homerun with Knuckles in Sonic CD, character sprite select for a consistant experience in all the games, Amy playable, good new music for Sonic 3, etc.
