Sorry, but this is a "youngster thing". Young people these days can not focus, so they are always on many devices at the same time.

I remember reading SuperGamePower (a local gaming magazine) saying that the game was childish and would be difficult to find success.

It is a true roguelike, not a roguelite or game with only faux-permadeath or procedural levels. It is one of pinnacles of the genre, so in any discussion about the best roguelikes, CoQ will be mentioned.
