@OorWullie Don't worry, Black Friday and Xmas sales will do wonders for Switch and FIFA alike. I know it sounds crazy, but I'm willing to bet that it will shift a lot more copies in the months to come.

@Agramonte Reviews won't affect things like FIFA, footie is footie and the majority of reviews won't be read by mum and dad. DOOM is still DOOM, all hands on impressions have stated such, and Switch/portable fans won't give two hoots about 720/30fps - they will only care that Bethesda have managed to shoehorn it into a tiny cartridge. And I'm willing to bet FIFA 18 will be improved over time on Switch anyway, almost a staggered plan.

Looking at Switch for what it is, it's no big deal. I'll take these versions over nothing at all, and that doesn't mean I'm a sucker. It means I want to play my games anywhere, with anyone.

@OorWullie I believe it wont matter as much as some people think. Reviewers can tear them down based on comparisons to home consoles all they like, at the end of the day gamers buying into Switch know what they are getting. Average Joe (i.e mum, dad and little Jimmy) won't give a hoot.

I'm in. I'm just glad I get to play this on the go, DOOM included.

The original Dark Souls. Man, do I have some fond memories of this title in it's various incarnations. I'd love to see a Daimakaimura revival for Switch, as far fetched as that may be.

Call me crazy, but I hope it's not GTAV. I hope it's a Vice City remake running on the same engine. I'd buy the crap out of that.

@JaxonH @Masticore Yeah, I presumed that I may be wrong. I may just download the second instalment as I didn't give it a fair to the first time around. Time to get a bigger SD card.

The only thing stopping me from getting this on day-1 is the cheap-ass move of forcing a download of the second instalment. That's a huge disappointment for me, and I would like to think it will be rectified at some point. I'm probably wrong though.

@Joelols Oh, of course. But then again, said people should probably bite the bullet and move on. I went into Switch with my expectations fully in check, and I will admit that it has even (pleasantly) surprised me on a lot of fronts.

This game in particular is a very good example of a third party title done right, and the NBA blunder aside (which smacks of both greed and a lack of optimisation), I'm certain that there is still a lot of good to come.

1: If anyone was expecting Switch to hit PS4-levels of performance, then that's your own damn fault.

2: This alone is an amazing achievement, and it bodes well for future support.

3: It's a great game and everyone should buy it.

I'd be on the fence about it as I haven't played a FF properly since 8..... I'm just not sure the genre is for me.

But hey, the more games the merrier, right? I'm pretty curious over Octopath Traveller too.....

All it took was 3 games to practically wipe out my PS4's memory. This isn't such a big deal when SD cards are so cheap, but I do agree that they should have increased the cart size (or at least got some compression tips from Nintendo).

You will never please everyone, such is life, although I do notice that some people are still suffering from ring sting when it comes to Switch's somewhat awesome form factor. I politely suggest that those who want all-out power bite the bullet and go elsewhere, whereas I would recommend the detractors who seem to thrive on going over-the-top with thier complaints take a running jump.

Me? Well, I've just come back from Florence and guess what? I took my console with me, in my hand luggage no less.

Switch - for me at least - is genius, and one of Nintendo's best consoles to date.

@MariOnline Sorry, I probably should have clarified it as '3rd party AAA'. Whatever that means to people nowadays.

Although I have seen people complain about the price of Nintendo's own games, even though the quality is disgustingly good.

Ironically, they are usually the same people who will bemoan paying full price, wait for a reduction, then complain about publishers being hesitant over announcing new games.

Bottom line: when Switch is truly up and running, the games will come. We arguably have more in the first few months of its life worth buying/playing compared to year 1 on Wii U.

@A7XBlink182247 Indeed. It's still a very strong platform, and even if support does fizzle a bit the sell-through should still remain strong. Plenty of evergreen titles will see to that.

Total game-changer (no pun intended) for me though; Splatoon 2 is the last title I will buy with Game, I refuse to take part in any 'coffer-lining' activities when it comes to this goon. Scruples and all that.

I've taken the fact that this needs to be plugged into Switch for granted. That would be seriously hampering with my current set-up.

It's a shame, i would have tolerated it being attached to my phone, but not limiting me to handheld mode or sitting blindingly close to my TV (or using a really long jack extender.

@Filth_Element Well, according to the official press release there will be feature parity at the very least. Graphical parity is all-but off the table of course, but there's no reason why this can't be an awesome game.

@Fazermint Yeah, nobody is saying that in this article. They are simply stating that they develop for more powerful hardware, and naturally there is a step down with Switch (albeit one backed by an excellent tool set).
