Pokémon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire arrives very soon, with the popular Game Boy Advance entries all set for a substantial remaster on the 3DS. Hype will no doubt build throughout November, of course, and The Pokémon Company is keen to push the excitement along with a special launch event focused on the Eon Ticket.
The Eon Ticket will be an important distribution, as it'll allow you to travel to the Southern Island and catch Latias or Latios, depending on your version of the game. You'll want to get hold of these 'mon and Mega Evolve them, too, as they can then fly you around the Hoenn region to reach Mirage areas with the Soar ability; these areas will allow you to catch rare Pokémon like the following:
- Ho'Oh
- Lugia
- Dialga
- Palkia
- Reshiram
- Zekrom
Distribution details have been slow to arrive, though in Japan there will be an Event and a distribution through CoroCoro magazine, in addition to StreetPass opportunities. The Pokémon Company has now released details of a launch event in the UK through an official website, in which 15 lucky gamers will attend a London launch on 29th November, meet Junichi Masuda and then travel to one of 15 nationwide GAME stores to pass the Eon Ticket on — through StreetPass — to lucky fans.
Details of how to enter and be one of those 15 Trainers will emerge on 13th November at 3pm UK time. We're hoping that other countries and regions will announce similar plans in the coming days; would you like to embark on a real-life StreetPass adventure with an Eon Ticket?

The US Eon Ticket has also been announced and it's similar. I live near a college campus so I hope someone can eventually StreetPass it to me.
That's actually pretty genius, definitely beats having to use a serial code imo.
Sounds like a cool way to do it I guess.
Oh my god that's annoying. I get like one streetpass a week. There's next to no chance I will get this, and not only do I miss Latios/Latias, I also miss those soar legendaries...
i think more than 15 people will want that, nintendo uk
Sounds like a neat way to use StreetPass! Definitely better than X/Y's StreetPass anyways. I still wish we would get StreetPass Pokemon battles, trading, Pokédex comparisons, etc. though... So many missed opportunities...
Hopefully there'll be other ways to get it. I live in a big city so hopefully this won't be too hard for me, but for others it's terrible.
Sounds cool, most towns in the UK have streetpass meetups if you look for them... I wonder how quickly the ticket will spread? Is definitely better than last time around when they used e-cards (UK didn't get the e-card reader).
Definitely going to apply to be one of the 15, hopefully my official Google pokémaster status will help. :'P
I just hope that it will be able to be StreetPassed through Nintendo Zone. In this case HomePass for the rescue.
Yay, I live in a place where it is unlikely to get streetpassed by EU systems. Looks like I'll have to wait for it to go on the 3DS Powersaves again.
I'm not sure I'm getting this: they claim that all 719 pokemon are in these games (in addition to X any Y) and yet they are making all these legendaries, Latios/Latias (from the original games), and the entire Soar ability event-exclusive?!
GameFreak, Pokémon games have the option to recieve gifts via Wi-Fi, without dumb serial codes or anything. Please use that option, so that anyone with Wi-Fi can easily get the gifts, instead of making the gifts more limited and too difficult-to-get for some fans.
[sigh]
Dissapointed. So what, only the US, UK and some selected countries will get this? As they mentioned above, they should send this via wifi sometimes later when this has passed.
I hated that I couldnt get the distributions on RSE.
But isnt this only for going to catch the second lati that isnt in your game? If so, I can live without it, as long as I can access the mirage areas.
I thnik it'd be nice to clarify that this eon ticket will allow us to catch THE OTHER [email protected] If you buy OR you'll get Latios in-game, and with this ticket you'll be able to catch Latias too... and viceversa.
wait so am i hearing it wrong that you need to streetpass to get the eon ticket to get latios/as which are the only pokemon in the game that can use soar which is an important part of the game. thats stupid, i must be reading it wrong
As usual, another Pokémon game which relies on online features to get maximum enjoyment and use of all advertised features.
I'm getting this game based on how its metagame is anyway, if it's as lacking as X/Y when it comes to post game content then I'll give this game a miss. The battle frontier would more than win me over on this though, shame info on that has gone quiet though.
I'll be getting OR and catching Latios, so it won't matter to me. But it'd be cool if I streetpassed someone with the Eon Ticket. Still, seeing where I live, it's not happening. :/
@ShadJV I'm pretty sure you still get one lati to soar with, like in the original, and if this becomes widespread enough maybe everyone will have the eon ticket at some point, making it easy enough to get even in less 3DS-dense areas.
Eh, already have most of those legendaries anyway. lol
Why does game freak come up with the most awkward ways of giving out legendary pokemon, just give me a code
just do wifi distributions .-. this idea still has some merit people who arent able to get the games during event periods could just have a chance at an event item this way... the way there going about it tho by just giving a few codes letting them slowly leak out through street pass is just an awful way to do this though i sincerely hope they don't do it like this for pokemon only obtainable through events
Great idea and a great way to encourage streetpass! I love seeing that green light on my 3ds lol.
Well... it's an interesting experiment... Curious to see if this streetpass thing will spread enough, but in any case this Eon ticket will surely get more shared than the original one of 12 years ago XP
@blackbeltbap @ShadJV Both games give you a Eon along the story, guarantee the use of the soar ability (Latios for Ruby, Latias for Sapphire), the Eon ticket is only for catch the other eon and have the duo complete.
You will only miss a single Pokemon without the ticket, all the other cool stuffs will be in the game
well, glad my girlfriend is getting the other one
I already have all the legendaries (except Arceus) anyway
Mehhhh I hope one of the stores is Glasgow otherwise I'll never end up getting it.
And you can be sure that one of the 15 nationwide stores won't be in NI
@ShadJV You know you still can get the other latios/latias (depending on wich game you have) who has the soar ability, you dont need to go to this event to be able to soar through the sky
Inb4 those 15 don't have streetpass enabled..
So no one in the North will get this, loving thanks Nintendo.
Please watch the profanity — TBD
@ShadJV hmmm, is there a best buy near you? you'll get street passes just going near the nintendo isle.
Wow, some people act like babies when it comes to Pokemon and video games in general. Calm down, it's going to be alright. McDonald's in the US also has street pass relay, this ticket will get around. Don't worry.
@umegames the closest best buy, 30 min away, doesn't have their Nintendo zone station up anymore because hardly anyone used it, I had problems there when I tried getting the animal crossing furniture. Pretty much nobody has 3DSes around here. I don't usually care, most streetpass features don't really gip me out of any content, but I really want to fill my Pokedex without buying both versions and this is one more legendary I'd have to find someone willing to trade (and probably trade back). I don't get why they have to do the events like this instead of just distributing via wifi..
I really hope I can get the Eon Ticket in Australia somewhere. I dont use streetpass much or live near a city so I hope there will be other ways for people like me.
@GH05T
Homepass will be your friend
Does anybody think that it's a good idea to send it to only 15 GAME store throughout the entire UK? Come on, at least 30! Well, I hope it comes to the one in Watford/Edgeware...
i dont need the ticket because i have the 3ds powersave cheat system, so i can just give myself a latos or latias with the mega stones
This is such a doggieoopsiepoopiepoodle move. I never have any streetpass hits. guess no more ORAS for me.
By the way, what about Aus distribution? Really really really hope it doesn't need StreetPass here and we have codes instead, because I get about two-three StreetPass Hits a month (usually from the same people) and doubt I'd be lucky enough to get it from someone who had it passed over to them. Also, we have no Nintendo Zones, so no relays from them.
Don't forget that in order for this to spread, you'll probably need to get a hit from someone with ORAS StreetPass activated, who has the Ticket. Even if you StreetPass someone who got a hit from another with the Ticket, you might not get it from that person, if they didn't have ORAS (and ORAS StreetPass activated) to actually receive it.
Serebii says this is also going to be given out to StreetPass Group leaders or something in the US, so at least it'll be more common there, and hopefully more people who travel can spread it to different countries.
Stupid move. Why don't that use wifi? No body has a 3DS here.
Okay, yesterday Gamestop distributions for gen 6 legendary, now this, it's so annoying, my country doesn't have load of 3ds users like other countries, and streetpass feature is not popular too, so it's really difficult. Now, nintendo and game freak you have disappoint me again...think about people in another countries where nintendo players is not a common and doesn't have any popular gamestore like gamestop or anything please...
As usual they design events that only work in cities. It's very frustrating that they never think of people who live in towns or rural places. ._.
Just once I'd like a pokémon game where I can actually get all of the available content.
Oh thank god, for a second there I thought I'd actually have to run out and buy this soon. Looks like my money gets to stay in my wallet for now.
Why is this article hinting that the Eon Ticket is the only method of getting either legendary Eon Pokémon? This may have been the case in the original games, but now players can meet and capture a version exclusive Eon Pokémon via normal gameplay without any special items. This time around the Eon Ticket is only an in-game method of getting the other Eon Pokémon from the version exclusive.
Nintendo Life! Look at all the sad, confused oblivious people commenting here! I AM DISAPPOINT!
@nessisonett I was thinking the same thing...
@ShadJV You get Latios/Latias in game. The Eon Ticket lets you catch the other.
@CanisWolfred LOL you can't seriously be suggesting that you aren't going to buy this simply because an event item isn't going to be gift wrapped and handed to you. If so have fun not playing it and missing out on everything the game will have to offer even without what will surely become a not that hard to receive item.
lol well isnt this a way to just annoy more people here in the US they forget were not like japan were everyone carries a 3ds or a handheld system and such they even can use their 3ds to pay for stuff unlike us so this feature doesnt work well for us -_- cant they just do it over wi-fi same annoying thing with the last pkm event >,>
but i just remember why even complain i got those pkm in my Y version already xD so eh
I never leave my house with my 3ds and when i do (rarely) i never get more then 10 street passes.
I need an Eon Ticket. Wait, I can't get one?!
@ThomasTheNerd same here! Glasgow is pretty hopeless for streetpass. I live in EK, which is completely off limits!
@CosmoXY Kids these days- so melodramatic!
@CosmoXY Actually...yes I am. That event was literally the only reason I wanted a remake of a game that killed my interest in Pokemon for 5 years. :/
However, thank you @HopeNForever for pointing out that this isn't the only way to get to the Mirage Spots...seriously, Thomas, you wrote the article that explained that. C'mon, man...
@SlicingScyther agreed though we don't have too many Game stores either. Might be nice for Belfast to get.
Well, the terms and conditions of this event have just been announced and it looks like that only those who live outside London will be able to participate which is very unfair IMHO. It looks like they will select 15 people from other cities (outside London) who will be able to travel to London to take part in the launch event.
Do u think we might be able to go past someone who has it in Southampton game store because i don't live any where near any big city's?
@LordOfGamez I agree 100% with you on that
Really? My city didn't have Diancie or Mega Gengar....does anyone have an Eon Ticket? I would love to have at least something:( I would gladly pass it around!
tomorrow im gonna go to game where this is being held cause i live ten mins away im gonna try to street pass them maybe ill get the ticket im not sure with any luck theyll street pass me the ticket dont see why they cant thats what there suppost to do
