Ubisoft's Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle has done tremendously well on the Nintendo Switch, with the game becoming the highest selling third-party title on the system. The two million sales of this game eventually led to the Star Fox crew making an appearance in Ubisoft's new IP, Starlink: Battle for Atlas.
Continuing this run of success, Mario + Rabbids has now been nominated for best game at the British Academy Children's Awards. The other three games on the list include the PlayStation titles Everybody's Golf, Frantics and Knack 2.
The winners will be announced on 25th November. Even if it is outnumbered, we would say Mario + Rabbids is the best game on the list - with plenty of love going into the title thanks to the game's director Davide Soliani, who has been a lifelong fan of Nintendo.

as tactics games go, it was a cute, but frustrating game at times, it was fun, but unlike a lot of other tactics games I've had through the decades, it just does not have the replay value I expected, it extends the game after you beat it and you can try to continue to try for 100% completion, but actual "replay" is almost non-existent for me
I’ve literally never heard of the other three LOL
Overcooked was nominated as BEST Family game by BAFTA last time.
Hopefully Mario + Rabbids will gonna win.
That's great, but a bit weird why this is being nominated over Mario Odyssey. Even if M+R is easier than most games like it, it's still a strategy game whereas Mario Odyssey is a platformer and should be easier for kids to play.
Knack 2 is a much better game.
But i guess they will let m vs d win because of the butthurt nintendo fanboys
As great as Mario + Rabbids is, it simply doesn't stand a chance against KNACK 2 BAYBEEEE!!11!1!
I honestly thought M + R was kind of boring, but most turn based strategy games are for me. Just my opinion.
IS THAT KNACK 2 BABY?!??!?!?! GAME OF THE YEAR EVERY YEAR?!?!?!??!?! THOSE OTHER GAMES DON'T STAND A CHANCE!!!!!!!!!!!
But in all seriousness, where is Bookworm Adventures Deluxe, c'mon Nintendo.
Why do I feel like there are BAFTAs every 6 months?
That nonstop juganought otherwise know as the mighty Knack 2 will simply wipe the floor.
The game is fun, but it gets too frustrated at times
You guys have a knack for memes.
I love the dunkey references. xD
To all those above who reference Knack 2, is Knack 2 really that good? I didn't like the first game so didn't follow Knack 2's release at all. I remember the concept being a pretty neat idea though.
As for the list. I want to throw some love towards Everybody's Golf, solid game and really new player friendly making it great for kids to get into. Mario + Rabbids while a great game, doesn't really scream kid friendly.
Absolutely no idea what Frantics is, and doesn't sound like something to enquire about.
@jhewitt3476 True, I expected a higher level of replayability as well. Maybe some random generated maps or something. Going through the chapters again with different characters is an option, but after that I was pretty much done with it.
KNACK 2 BABYYYYYY!!!
@westman98
KNACK 2 IS GARBAGE!!!!!
@The_ghostmen looks up posting history Oh, another anti-Nintendo troll frequenting a Nintendo fanpage to put on the ignore list. Welcome!
I haven’t played the other games on the list, so I’m not sure M+R is the best game among the nominated, but it’s a really good game, no doubt. It sounded weird on paper, but it worked really well in reality.
Knack 2 looks cool.
@PigmaskFan
Nonsense. Knack 2 is a MASTAPIECE.
@Dalarrun You underestimate kids.
My favourite game when I was under 10 was Sid Meier's Colonization.
@Quarth i guess saying some nintendo games aren't the best in the world makes me a troll.
i own every console (and a 2008 pc) don't really care what system it's on.
i''l buy any system if it has great exclusives.
mario rabbits is just another mess to me because of ubisoft standard dlc crap.
they sell complete editions even after gold editions even though complete editions aren't complete.
sorry if that doens't work with you're thoughts.
nintendo could have used one of there own franchises and made it so much better mario universe vs zelda universe ganon and bowser fusing there kindom. mario using a sword and link using power ups as masks.
or instead of a bow using throwing hammers.
@SmaggTheSmug
True, I was heavily into games like Morrowind, Civilization, Command and Conquer, etc. when I was a kid. I just feel like the average nine year old is more likely to have a good time with a platformer than they are planning a few turns in advance in a strategy game.
M + R was great, except for the wandering from one challenge to the next. I would love to retry some of the levels I previously finished, but don’t due to the time required to get there
Of course it's not a gun Mario and Luigi shoot Rabbids with, it a beam that transports Rabbids back to the washing machine.
I'm sure children will understand once it's explained to them.
Mean while I will carry on shooting the Rabbids. 🙄
It should be an easy win for Mario + Rabbids.
Surprised Fortnight isnt there, dispite not really a childrens game, its mostly played by children.
''Mario + Rabbids Nominated For Best Game At BAFTA Children's Awards - Up against three PlayStation titles''
This is impossible; @Anti-Matter thought me there are only 18+ games on PlayStation, how is this possible?
Mario + Rabbid is brilliant... for the WIN!!
@Anti-Matter Best family game? LOL.
More like break-up simulator
Sorry, Reggie, while you're were eating ice cream and making Splatoon 2, Mark Sony was over here making history with Knack 2.
@Dalarrun Depends on the child. I liked platformers a lot by then as well (and still do), but as I was also into board games I saw strategy games as an advanced form of those.
Most boys my age and similar were mostly into actions games (racing and football games in particular), but almost no one turned down a game of Heroes of Might and Magic.
@PigmaskFan
Know your meme.
This is the UK so it wont win.

Mario Rabbids is honestly my favorite Switch-exclusive title so far. It's an insanely fun game.
That said, where IS Bookworm Adventures?
It's a really fun game despite the rabbids. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Still need to get around to doing the DLC.
Mario + Rabbids got this one!
It'll probably win. The only exception would have been if there was a media molecule game. Since Tearaway got like half a dozen BAFTA awards seemingly for being from a British dev studio.
