Nintendo has revealed a brand new Diablo III-themed limited edition Switch console set to be available later this year.
Scheduled for release on the game's launch date of 2nd November, this Switch bundle includes a console and dock featuring Diablo III artwork, a download code for Diablo III: Eternal Collection, and a themed carrying case for good measure. Sitting alongside the also-upcoming Pokémon Let's Go and Super Smash Bros. Switch consoles, this marks the first time that a third-party title has received its own custom Switch system in the west.
In case you'd forgotten, Diablo III: Eternal Collection will contain the full game and all DLC expansion content at launch - Rise of the Necromancer and Reaper of Souls. In addition, the Nintendo Switch version will include exclusive in-game items from The Legend of Zelda series, including Ganondorf Transmog Armor, a companion Cucco pet, and a Golden Triforce Portrait Frame.
The bundle will be available in Europe and North America on 2nd November, with GameStop hosting the system exclusively in the US for $359.99.

Now I'm mad I already have a Switch.
I know some people that would love this.
the battery of my first day switch is all swollen up and my warranty has expired so I think this is an ideal excuse to give some more money to nintendo
Should have been packed with a dark red and blue joy cons.
Wow that case is sexy.
I don't think anyone expected this, but I don't think anybody's going to complain either.
Tempting but I'll have to hold off.
No game, no buy! Not that I was going to buy it anyways. 😛
Mediocre Design at best imo.
This couldve been awesome :/
Between this and the Smash Bros. Console bundle I have preordered, I actually want this more. And will still keep my day one launch system. Not concerned about any supposed revisions or upgrades until I see an actual product presented. But it’ll be like my DS/3DS collection: buying multiple iterations and never parting with any of them
@Medic_alert They could make bank by selling limited edition docks, at least. But I’d bet that’d price itself out, especially with a download code for these games.
I played the demo at an event recently and found it got boring really quickly. It played too much like the Warriors games in that I was constantly killing hordes of enemies with no end in sight. Am I missing something?
I imagine it would be a lot more fun in couch co-op, but I just can't see myself getting much mileage out of the game as a single-player experience.
@LuciferOnReddit Are you saying everyone will want to wait for a XL/Lite/SP/Portable-only version of the console that will come next year?? I don´t think so.
In my opinion, waiting for next year´s version is a bit stupid if you want the console, unless there are chances for it to get a discount (unlikely). The "pro" version of the Switch won´t come until late 2020 or even 2021, so...
That bundle is pretty nice though (minus the download code).
I would love to buy these custom docks if they would give us the option to buy them individually.
@Silly_G it not like a warriors game its about killing demons like the last 2 diablo games on pc.
I Like the carrying case. For those Dock designs it would be nicer if they just sold removable stickers for the Dock so we can freely change the designs when we want.
@SmaggTheSmug, that would be a nice addition indeed.
Damn I like it … but I already have a Switch ;(
I was excited to buy this until they revealed a $60 price point. Even with all of the DLC it shouldn't be more than $40.
"this marks the first time that a third-party title has received its own custom Switch system"
No, it's really not.
"...this marks the first time that a third-party title has received its own custom Switch system..." I did not know that Fortnite was a first party game.
@Knuckles-Fajita Yeah Ryan, Monster Hunter got a branded Switch hardware release, albeit Japan only. But still it beat this Diablo version. @ryancraddock
@setezerocinco I don't think the Fortnite one had any designs on it, I think it was a standard grey Switch. But still, the Monster Hunter one I mentioned above beat out this Diablo one so yeah, it's not the first third-party special edition Switch.
@DarthFoxMcCloud @Knuckles-Fajita @Tsurii Yeah, I meant in the west rather than Japan but that admittedly wasn't clear. I've updated it now.
@setezerocinco Fortnite's had its own bundle release be revealed but it didn't get a customised system.
The design is so lazy, the only appealing thing is the case.
Underwhelming for me, wish they'd done special Joy-Cons and grip rather than the back and the dock...two parts I'm rarely looking at.
That being said the case is nice and some people here seem to love it so it's all good!
Cool designs and good marketing decision. Way to go Nintendo.
Download code ruins it.
Great idea, lazily executed. The mindset of Nintendo is right, they just need to execute better.... I hope it sells well however.
Just buy a custom skin off Decalgirl or Dbrand. They only cost a few dollars and you could have a far better design than this.
You know the lineup is thin when Diablo 3 is your Holiday 2018 3rd party bundle 🙄
I guess the case is OK at minimum. I still wish I had the Mario Bundle. Should have kept my pre-order and sold my launch Switch last Christmas.
If you told me during Wii U that Nintendo's next console would come with have a Diablo special edition bundle I would not have believed you.
Very cool
@iLikeUrAttitude Kind of reminds me of the Smash Bros Switch bundle. While the dock looks awesome, the Joy Con are just too plain.
Scalpers and collectors will snap these up faster than you can say "Switch".
I would love to have one for Doom (Eternal)
@RedMageLanakyn I believe it is the price that retails for the other platforms too
@SonOfVon If you live in the EU, use the manufacturer warranty.
Needs red joycons
I like the themed carry case but not the download code for the game. It annoys me when you get a whole themed console yet the game is still digital download, I must be getting old.... I mean you have a box for the console and carry case physically displaying the game but the game itself is digital. To me it's the most important part which should be physical the game itself.
@Balta666 Amazon shows the PS4 and X1 eternal editions sitting at $39.87, not a sale price. I understand that they had to spend money to port it to the Switch, and for everyone who doesn't own it already I'd say go for it. I already own it on PS4 and PC, so personally it's too much for me to triple dip.
Wow, almost speechless...
Nintendo going all-in on Diablo? Totally unexpected.
Even PlayStation didn't get a custom system or even a stick-on skin.
What's next, Switch remastered versions of D1 & D2 funded by Nintendo?
One missed opportunity though is the bland Joy-Con controllers...
Diablo is all about the Eternal Conflict (Angels vs. Demons).
They could have done something like Hellfire Red & Angelic Gold for Joy-Cons.
This thing needs more color, even the bag is kinda drab...
Oh, now that is awesome. If I didn't already own a Switch, this is the one I would get.
Still, nice to see Nintendo and Blizzard going all-in on this.
Looks OK. If I was a Diablo fan who wanted a Switch I would get it.
But I have a Switch and if I understood what Diablo was all about, I might buy the game. But the videos I watched show, but don't really explain the mechanics of it.
Without Crossplay, this game will only be worth it when they sell A LOT of units on the Switch. I learned my mistake with Titan Quest. There used to be like 7 people online at most lol.
I won't touch it before it sells at least 1 mil. Guess I won't be buying it.
Grey joycons are so bland. Should have used the same ones from the mario bundle.
@panthro yes I do. what's this warranty you speak of? I've sent a joycon while it was under the retailers warranty and didn't pay anything, later sent it again and had to pay
Regardless of what one thinks about Diablo, I think the fact that Nintendo is going all-in like this with a third party game is pretty significant. I like to see things like this being offered even if it doesn't appeal to me personally.
Not really much change, same color scheme with just the extra drawings basically. It amazes me they are still not releasing more color options for joycons and pro controllers.
@DarthFoxMcCloud To me the dock also looks plain, you could probably get the same result getting a custom job on your switch.
Pretty slick.
But wow. That's a pretty... old game. To do a bundle for, I mean.
@Medic_alert 👍
@LuciferOnReddit not a boring design, the demon on the left is the same one on the health globe and the angel on the right is the one on the mana globe, the globes are popular elements of the franchise's UI. the problem with this is they should have had a dark red joycon on the left and a dark blue on the right to match it.
i like it
Well I guess it's back to the blood bank!
@LuciferOnReddit It's not the fault of the USK. You, as a German, should know better.
I am not going to be able to resist this I hate myself
@zool I’ve played this game for prob a total of 600 hours between the other two versions now with this console I’m about to make it 900 I’m a sucker for themed consoles was trying to wait out for next years Pokémon theme but I was not expecting this
@Tsurii Looks like someone didn't read the whole sentence
this marks the first time that a third-party title has received its own custom Switch system in the west.
If I didn't own one already I would be so tempted to buy one now.
Tempting but I would rather have the SSMB version as my second Switch.
Eww, Gamestop
@ShikabaneHime13 Nintendo loves you
@BANJO 100% agree, I guess they are worried about the game getting into the wild early.
I'll never be convinced by digital over physical. Not the same for a collector.
Hybrid physical games is pudding me off too. Will not buy another of those.
There's something I never thought I'd se....
@Silly_G Diablo and Warriors are both ARPG hack and slash games, but the similarities really end there. Warriors is about map control with base areas, almost like a capture the flag or king of the kill/zone defense multiplayer game.
Diablo is a game driven by finding locations to advance forward/acquire mcguffins and mostly continue acquiring loot to sell and upgrade to keep fighting monsters. It has stats, skill trees, spells very more traditional RPG-like than Warriors that's all action and timer based map control.
@ICISAZEL Yes I agree. Many accept digital download. I do on Indie games but never on retail releases...
Just sell the dock. I've already got the Pokémon and Smash docks on order.
Those special editions are getting more and more boring. Would love to see a full case&dock paint job akin to the 3DS cover panels. Plus cool JoyCon colours to boot.
Those decals though... pretty meh, to be honest.
tried to get my diablo fix through victor vran but no go
@ICISAZEL LOL. I’m sure they do when I buy 4 children, myself, and my husband our own systems and games each. And that’s on top of my personal collection of variants when it comes to systems.
I’m agreeing with everyone about joy cons - it’s a big missed opportunity to not do some cool color combinations for these bundles. Smash Bros would’ve been hella cool with a matte white and glossy black combo or anything really.
Nintendo is really dropping the ball on these "limited edition bundles" First it was Smash Ultimate and now this. Both examples i just made could'ave been amazing, but no they were lazy with them. Sad when the damn case is more appealing than the console itself.
Kinda sucks when Bethesda and Rockstar put more effort in a limited edition console(Wolf 2 and La Noire) than Nintendo themselves. Come on now
I'm not really digging any of the designs on the dock so far. Just looks like a cheap print. Would be better if they added a bit of colour... I dunno.
@Silkyinsect_UK I agree, they are not that exciting....

And the joycon?? Simply grey??
If you live in Canada, EBGames will have it too for $450. I know a couple people that would be interested in this package, but personally I'll be just buying the game since I own a Switch already

There are no custom joycons and no physical game? Forget about it.
Given that you get a download code for the game, would D3 UEE even fit on the Switch's internal storage?
If not that's extremely lame...
