Don't really have enough games for this feature to be necessary for me. Or moreover I don't go back to enough games to make the list on my screen be arduous. Typically I just move on from one game, don't touch it again, get a new one and the process repeats.
Pokemon Legends Arceus and FFXIV. I haven't purchased the Mario Kart 8 DLC yet. As much as I know it would be fun, I'm playing too much else right now to get into that right now.
Got my Switch on Christmas 2017. It's doing just fine, aside from a little joy con drift. It's been played so sporadically throughout the years, it would be a shock if it had become too worn down. lol
I have Civ VI and almost all of its addon content on PC. It's really fun. The loyalty system added in the first EP is not my favorite though. (probably because I suck and can't handle it lol)
@Troll_Decimator I didn't say that Exp Share = Easy. I never have. I don't think it's an adequate "easy mode" in fact. Didn't help me much in Sun/Moon when I got mowed down anyway.
I brought up my concerns (about balance) based off of my experience in Shield where I took my time to enjoy the Wild Area and my Pokemon inevitably got overleveled (I know you can switch Pokemon out easily, but that wasn't enough, as I always kept at least one stronger Pokemon in my team for worst case scenarios where I'd black out otherwise. That Pokemon got overleveled beyond belief. Ridiculous) and then I breezed through the end of the game (which had some nice emotional movements...ruined by how overpowered I was).
It's one thing to have it in a game like BD/SP where capacity to explore is limited (although it should always be optional) but in an open world game I worry. I feel like I was 'punished' for taking my time to enjoy exploring and checking out the Wild Area. I fear that the same thing will happen here.
One thing I've always harped on the Switch for was having a dry game release schedule filled with mostly ports.
While I understand that these do seem really quick, I'm not going to complain too much. I'm ecstatic to have three exciting games confirmed in one year (Legends Arceus, Kirby, and now Pokemon Scarlet/Violet). My Switch will collect less dust this year. =)
Some people will complain about the frame rate or the graphic fidelity. I couldn't care less about any of that. These are ambitious enough of games going full open world. I'm just going to have fun.
I am pretty excited, with a slight bit of caution. That caution surrounding the almost guaranteed return of forced Exp Share and how it interacts with open world. (In Shield, it was a huge balance problem. Just give us the option to turn it off, gosh darn it).
The wording of this doesn't leave much debate up to if it is truly open world. They said that the towns and cities blend seamlessly without borders. This is true open world and I'm so happy! (Legends:Arceus was a great step, but this will be even better)
But I do have to say how cute the cat Pokemon is. And I don't generally care for cat Pokemon. This one is adorable, though. I fear it having an abomination of an evolution like Incineroar though.
Well at least let every Pokemon that is programmed on Switch games (save for Legends:Arceus perhaps, it's set way in the past) come over. There's a decent amount of Pokemon between Sword/Shield & DP/BP.
With more returning Pokemon here hopefully. But I see lots of Psyducks in the trailer and stuff just feels like more of the same of what we already have. =/
@deafdood The official Pokemon Twitter said this is an open-world game with the trailer. So it is definitely like Legends in that sense, if not true open world (hopefully it's full open world).
As for the gameplay style of Legends, I doubt that. I don't think we'll see action-oriented boss fights. But we might get seamless Pokemon battles in the overworld, hopefully.
I'm actually excited for this. It looks great. They have finally taken the traditional Pokemon games into TRUE 3D with movable camera and vast environments. Everything since X/Y has been baby steps toward this (which X/Y being straight-up 2.5D) and it looks fantastic.
Also, can't complain about a Spain-based region. The city with the medieval style gate and wall looks so gorgeous.
This means that 2022 is just straight-up great for the Switch. I did not see this coming at all. I only anticipated possibly hopefully getting BOTW2 at the end of the year, but now we get this. Is it too soon? Perhaps. But I don't even care because it looks great.
Might look into it somewhere down the line. Right now I just started my new job and have many other priorities first, including a new PC (my current is from 2014 lol)
Interesting that Animal Crossing New Leaf was everpresent but the 3DS Pokemon games were absent. That's strange. Are Pokemon games primarily a physical copy purchase over there or something?
All of the 3DS Pokemon games I own save for X are digital.
Ace Attorney Dual Destines actually has a release on at least one other platform - mobile. I know everyone's going to groan at me for bringing that up, but I daresay that the Ace Attorney ports on mobile are really good and the basic control scheme for the games fits mobile perfectly. I played the vast majority of the series on mobile. It allowed me to play them at work and other places out without having to bring a device I don't always have with me to begin with.
(I just looked it up and Spirit of Justice also has a mobile port, so both of these games are available elsewhere and will likely come to other platforms later)
@PokemonDMG Just got the game, so I haven't gotten to far into it but if it's not something that can only be pulled off with Arceus (don't spoil me, please), I'd love to see more Legends games set in historical Pokemon locations, even new regions based off of historical civilizations like ancient Greece and Egypt would be super cool.
I bought it on VC for the Wii U when it came out. I was never able to really get into it. Perhaps it's silly, but the text based battles were weird to me and I couldn't get past that.
@sanderev They shouldn't have to be ordered from a foreign website. I remember wanting something from there a very long time ago and getting my card rejected because my bank doesn't allow for me to order from such places.
I don't know why they can't do this with Pokemon games of much lower value like BD/SP or LG/PE. (not that I would buy the latter at even a low price, but that's me)
I believe it's possible this could become its own separate "series", like the remake series. I'd be very open to the idea, it'd be neat to see other regions in the past, or perhaps even invent new regions based off of ancient civilizations like ancient Greece, Egypt, Mesopotamia.
I haven't played the game (obviously) or paid attention to the leaks, though. It's entirely possible this is just a sole idea for a game based off of Arceus. IDK.
If the series does continue, I fear for the quality of the remake series from here on out. Seeing the poor job that was done on the D/P remakes makes me really sad.
@Salnax Well, yeah. Reviews generally have to be taken with a grain of salt. I would take X/Y over Emerald any day, though. In fact I didn't even get Emerald because Ruby was such a letdown. Not a fan of the Gen III Hoenn games.
I'm happy to see it rated so highly! I knew this game had potential to be something really special and evolutionary for the Pokemon series (something it desperately needed, I'm sure many of us can attest).
I look forward to purchasing it once I get my first paycheck after I get my new job. (which is funny, because I bought Pokemon Black with my first paycheck in my very first job). It gives me something to look forward to.
I was happy for the starters choices, and even more happy because Samurott is my favorite final evolution starter. So regional evolutions is not my favorite news (although not like I'm disowning the game, not at all! lol). I also don't really understand it logically. The other Pokemon that are regional are the way they are because they are adapted to the region, but the starters were very recently brought over to the region by the professor. That's...not how evolution (not Pokemon evolution, real life evolution) works.
Regardless, I'm happy to see that Samurott is still quadrupedal and seems to keep a lot of its original design in place.
EDIT: Do not spoil me, please. I have avoided the leaks.
@Muddy_4_Ever Most of what I see is about the frame rate and graphics. I'm yet to see a valid complaint against the game aside from concerns about it turning out good because of it being GF (and that's just speculation at the end of the day).
Don't know that I'm too excited to hear about increased difficulty. The difficulty was already fine. If they wanted to make something harder, they need to go with difficulty options.
Also, only Gen I Pokemon? yawns Guess limiting it to those boring old overused Pokemon at least keeps the majority of Pokemon out of the range of fire, though. lol
@LunarFlame17 Well, I can see the value of your viewpoint. I still would prefer that we get those for-sure presentations once a year. Do other companies (aside from Sony) even do Nintendo Direct type presentations? Or do they shadow drop stuff?
@LunarFlame17 Certainly the pandemic effected Nintendo's 2020 hard. I doubt we'll see another year like that without Directs, but perhaps I shouldn't have brought up 2020. It's kind of aside from my point what caused Nintendo to never give us a full Direct then.
What I mean is that E3 gives us a solid release for information. Not just from Nintendo, but from all kinds of companies. Unless all companies decide to simultaneously release their conferences like a spiritual E3, it's just not the same. We no longer have that reassurance of "they haven't shown much of anything this year, but at least we know that they will have to at E3."
I disagree with those who say it has no value in the digital world. Perhaps I am just being old-fashioned here, IDK.
@LunarFlame17 Yeah, but E3 gives us a concrete date. Otherwise we're all up in the air on when the next conference will happen. We all remember 2020 where it never happened ever. =(
That sounds like speculation as opposed to a rumor.
Persona 4 Golden on the Switch would be amazing, though. I haven't been able to play it but have been wanting to forever. My PC is so old and runs on Windows 7 so even though it came out on Steam, I can't get it at this moment.
A Switch release would be perfect! But I'm not convinced from this.

FFXIV and Legends Arceus. I decided to hold off on Kirby for now because I don't want to take attention away from Arceus.

@Mauzuri They show bits and pieces of the map in the trailer and it looks distinctly like the Iberian Peninsula. I'd bet money on it being Spain.

TBH, I don't even have any expectations at this point, aside from maybe seeing BOTW2, but even that I'm not getting my hopes up too much for.
Of course, an Okami sequel and new Ace Attorney would be fantastic.
Oh... forget about the rumored Persona 3 port. It's been a long time since we heard that rumor, so I'm not getting my hopes up too much.
