Bandai Namco ended its two-day 'Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2022' event with the release date reveal of Android 21 (Lab Coat) for Dragon Ball FighterZ.
In case you missed it, she will arrive next week on February 24th. So what's planned for this Dragon Ball game now that this character is ready for launch? During the same broadcast, the game's producer, Tomoko Hiroki, shed some light on what might be next.
It seems Bandai Namco is "currently considering" events "inside" and "outside " of the game - to ensure fans will continue to enjoy DBFZ. Here's the full translation:
"We're currently considering a variety of events inside and outside of the game to ensure that everyone can continue to enjoy Dragon Ball FighterZ...Thank you for your continued support!"
While this may not be another FighterZ Pass or another solo character DLC announcement, it's at least something.
Prior to Android 21 (Lab Coat), the last update was Gogeta [SS4] in March 2021 - as the final character in FighterZ Pass 3. The title also got a rather significant patch last August.
Do you think we'll see anything else from DBFZ after Android 21 (Lab Coat) drops, or is this the end in terms of extra character content and updates? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.

I think the DLC is done. Android 21 is just a bonus fighter to hold people over for fighterz 2 (Maybe), if its happening.
I thought SSJ4 Gogeta was the perfect way to end it, even if we never got Raditz.
I figured this was the last one anyway… even though I wish we’d get just one more pack. I can dream right?
ngl I love Dragon Ball FighterZ, but everyone (with exceptions like the movie chars) we got in the DLC should've been in the base game as unlockable characters. Goku and Vegeta transformations should've been handled like the Shin Budokai games where they were alts of their base form or like Smash's echo fighters situation
DLC can't last forever, but we could have gotten more than what we got. regardless the game will stand the test of time and probably go down as the greatest Dragon Ball fighting game in terms of graphics/gameplay alone, no other has captured the spirit of the anime like FighterZ
@Snatcher Raditz would have been good to round things off. I wonder how they make this game different if they are going for a sequel. I mean, the DLC themselves were pretty much what a sequel would have done (like the Street Fighter II games, those were all technically DLC for the original Street Fighter II).
@Royalblues Yes. I would rather they move on from Dragon Ball and do One Piece.
wish namco give us more tales games for switch but they must be still butthurt over getting replace on prime 4 development even though it was their own fault it got restarted in the first place.
I would love for Raditz and Omega Shenron to be in before this is all over.
This game has the best cel shaded graphics I have ever seen. They really need to up other anime games' style!
So many DLC fighter packs but still hadn't surpass Budokai Tenkaichi 3's roster.
@Specter_of-the_OLED come on, let’s be honest, how the heck would they ever come close with this beautiful animation?
It would take to long, and waay to much money.
@Specter_of-the_OLED I think I can live without literal who picks like Cui, Appule, etc and literal fodder picks like Cell Jr, Saibaman, etc on top of way more transformation Clone character variations that bloated the roster.
Smaller higher quality roster >>>>>> character roster size as only selling point of the game
@nintendolife
Street Fighter 6 is a thing. No platforms announced yet.
Also another thing: Capcom Fighting Game Collection is also a thing and it is coming to Switch apparently

So in the end, how much money would you be spending full price on all this DLC?
@Yosher Around a good 40.
@Arawn93 More characters are not always a good thing, and I'm pretty sure that game showed us that.
Just like you said, I rather a smaller roster with different characters then a big one with a lot of clone ones.
@Snatcher Oh that's not nearly as bad as I thought, I thought it would be well over 60. Huh.
@Yosher You might be thinking of Xenoverse.
@ShadowofTwilight22 Why? Nappa for how minor he was ironically was the more important and threatening character then Raditz.
Nappa killed Piccolo, Tien, and Chaotzu for starters and terrorized Gohan/Krillin before Goku saved the day.
Raditz couldn’t kill anyone besides the farmer with a shotgun. He had the one actual fight with Goku/Piccolo, got beat up by toddler Gohan, and then loses to a full Nelson hold.
He was honestly a pretty unremarkable foot note character despite being the series protagonist’s brother and people mainly seem to care about him because he was the “first arc” of DBZ and “was in the other DBZ games” usually as the first/tutorial fight
@Snatcher I thought it was common practice for DBZ games in general with only very few exceptions.
@Yosher Fair.
@Arawn93 I just think raditz is such a cool character. You just never got to see any of this because he got killed early, I think if he got more screen time, he would be amazing! Though I do think nappa got the shine only because he was fighting 1v1's (Unless my memory just sucks) wile Raditz was a 2v1 dare I say a 3v1.
Another reason why he is really liked could be Raditz just never got a 2nd chance, in the manga or the anime, and was just kinda never brought up again, even tho they could have revived him, and he could have became a better person.
Edit: And i'm not saying he wasn't weak, because he sorta was. It just sucks how much he gets shafted, I mean the dude is goku's brother.
DBZ games really need an eventual consolidated 'Complete Edition' that comes with all the DLC that trickles out for years... but no matter how long after initial release, it never
comes smh. The cumulative amount and cost of the DLC at this point compared to the base game (which some of this DLC should have been in to begin with) is too grand.
As an aside, my personal favourite DBZ games are:
I hope one day they make another modern DB game with a massive, unique, complex, comprehensive roster including everyone from all the series and movies like MvC2... and the roster isn't littered with paid DLC to access them all (pipe dream at this point I know).
... Wun can only hope.
@ShadowofTwilight22
1. Yes he is Goku’s brother, but so what? Unlike Bardock who is Goku’s father who actually got notable moments to shine, Raditz was a foot note never mentioned again after his debut arc. Even in Super era where they seemed to bring almost everyone back Raditz still missed that boat.
2. No the conflicts in DBZ would have eventually happened anyway regardless if Raditz showed up or not. Not all the DBZ arcs depended on if Raditz showed up or not. Vegeta/Nappa was already aware of Earth the only thing they learned from Raditz was the Dragonballs which was the extra motivation for them to show up to earth that they eventually would have arrived for anyway since Frieza army sells planets.
3. He didn’t “trounce” them in the one actual fight they had. Raditz got surprised they were faster when they took off their weighted clothes and the tricks they had due to their teamwork. What is the good of “dominating them 1 vs 1” if he fights like an overconfident moron in the team fight? Raditz even got scared that Piccolo’s Special Beam Cannon is capable of killing him which is why he panicked when he couldn’t break out of a Full Nelson apparently. He was also least impressive DBZ arc antagonist body count wise since he only actually killed a power level 5 farmer on Earth before biting it.
4. Toddler Gohan knocked the wind out of Raditz and was making him panic seeing the rising power level . Nappa toyed with kid Gohan after he killed like half the Z fighters. Their situation is not even remotely comparable lol
He is lame because despite the potential of Goku’s brother he is pretty much a glorified tutorial fight for past DBZ games/serves as a stepping stone for DBZ cast to get ready for the alien stuff. Nappa is lame as well, but not Raditz levels of lame.
Where's Raditz?
