I'd like to pick it up someday when it goes on sale. It's definitely not a $60 purchase, though.

Sadly this is not substantial at all. Golden Sun could have been a long-running popular series, but Nintendo completely failed to capitalize on it (with the long-awaited sequel to the originals coming out something like 7 or 8 years after the originals and on a dying platform). They couldn't even give it proper Smash representation, time and time again. But sure add more KI characters, FE characters, and third party characters that have absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo. rolls eyes

I can't believe Ocarina of Time now has a higher percentage than people not purchasing the expansion. Imagine spending $50 to play a game that you have been able to play on pretty much every Nintendo system since it was released (including the 3DS).

This is not the worth the price. I will not be purchasing it.

Were there any actual hints in his images? I never heard of there being anything of significance. The fanbase needs to stop reading into his images.

Nah. Not my kind of game. I don't like violence, it takes a lot to make me play a more violent game (like Assassin's Creed representing beautiful recreated historical locations, that's how much it takes) and these games don't have anything like that.

@twztid13 I don't understand your argument. Certainly time has to be put into making different difficulties, but other than that, I don't see how it fundamentally alters the game. In my eyes, it just gives options.

A game like SMTV getting an easy mode is stated to give people who prefer more story than gameplay a way to play the game. You could tell these people to watch the game on YouTube or something, but that isn't the intended way of experiencing the story, and plus an easy mode allows for them to still have gameplay to enjoy in addition, which is a completely different experience from just watching the story, even if it is toned down.

TBH, when I see a game that is just super hard in difficulty, I am saddened. There is so much more to a video game than difficulty, there's so much more to enjoy about them. When a super hard difficulty gets in the way of that, it ruins the experience for no reason. That difficulty can still exist, it just doesn't have to be the only one.

@armondo36 Me, too! I don't understand why this is such a contentious subject in the gaming community. Like an easy mode somehow takes away from the rest of the game? Absurd. It's just an option, an option that makes it more accessible. Not everyone plays games to be frustrated.

I must applaud them for representing the female trainers. All of these specials in the past have only focused on the male trainers and that really rubbed me in the wrong way.

BTW, there seems to be a trend of every other generation representing each gender trainer. Since odd generations seem to focus on female trainers does this mean that Generation I will actually focus on Leaf instead of Red? OMG. Do it. I beg of you, do it.

I like that they added a lower difficulty option. =) But yeah DLC on day one is low. Although I never was inclined to buy any DLC for Persona 5, so I wonder if this DLC is equally as aesthetic.

I think the only one I'd give to Nintendo here is the most looking forward to section with BOTW2 or Pokemon Legends: Arceus.

I don't play a lot of games, though. So I can't vote on like 90% of these categories (even including Nintendo, I haven't been interested in anything released this year).

Persona 5 is hardly a mystery, if you ask me. Mainline Persona games have always been largely Sony exclusive with the only exception being some releases on the PC as well as the PS systems.

@Maximumbeans I believe the game is supposed to be set in the equivalent of the 19th century. It's not actually "ancient". Although a video camera is certainly off for that time, no doubt about it.

I have not had a stable income since around when Joker came out. Joker was the last one I have been able to purchase.

However, I would still be under five even if I had all of the money in the world to throw around - the vast majority of the DLC characters have been completely unappealing to me. (Minecraft character? Meh. More bulky fist fighting dudes? No thanks. ANOTHER FE character? For the love of god, please stop. A character from the not-so-successful one-off franchise ARMS? Meh.)

These are the three I plan on purchasing once I have money again: Sora, Sephiroth, and Banjo & Kazooie.

@sleepinglion How much do you want to bet that the AC DLC was tacked onto the service last moment because they realized that the price hike was going to be outrageous?

IMO, the AC DLC is fantastic, but I will not be getting it via subscription, I will be paying once to have it forever.

They deserve it. What a rip-off this service is. I'm so glad that HHP can be purchased separately. If it wasn't, I would be fuming.

I play everything in handheld mode. I don't like sitting in front of my TV much nowadays.

@KBuckley27 Yup, I'm super happy that they took it and implemented it in NH. That's the best-case-scenario, if you ask me. NH really needed this.

Well, I think these updates will make New Horizons my favorite Animal Crossing game. They addressed quite a few of my issues, it looks like. Really excited to get back into it!

They've done it. My god. Exceeded my expectations by 100 times with this lol

I was doubting they had a reason for an Animal Crossing Direct, but I was wrong. Very pleasantly surprised. Within like two to three minutes of this Direct they already vastly exceeded my expectations.

I loved HHD. This nearly made me cry, and the new decorating objects and abilities with it. This is what I wanted NH to be.

OMG they brought back Ace! ='D He was one of my very first villagers on AC GCN.

The one thing I would really love about Happy Home Designer being implemented in the main games is all of the community lots you got to design.

You see that regardless of if people notice it, they would adore this feature. NH towns people have built are very often full of faux community lots by using the alt houses or trying to build them outside. Imagine being able to have all of the different buildings, like in HHD?

Sadly, Nintendo has taken a very minimalist approach with buildings in NH. We see that direction continuing with Brewster being in the museum instead of being a separate building.

I don't understand why they're forcing Exp Share All on us. I just don't. It was optional before. That was perfect. The people who want it can turn it on, those who don't turn it off.

Taking away options like this is just bad game design.

Interesting - Duel Destinies is my least favorite of the mainline Ace Attorney games. I found Spirit of Justice more enjoyable myself.

If only we could get Roxas and Xion as echo fighters. Hey with the thousands of Fire Emblem characters we have, why not?

I'm not inclined to 100% interpret that this way, but I'm prepared for it being so. It is certainly disappointing if true, but not a complete hype crusher. The game looks like a big step forward for Pokemon either way, and even if the areas are not completely open they look really broad and full of plenty of running room like an open world game, so it'll still be great either way.

I have no plans to get one. I see no need when I already have a Switch.

No, Metroid isn't for me. Happy that Metroid fans get this, though.

Only going to buy Banjo, Sephiroth and Sora when I get money again. Between them and Joker (who I already have), those are the only SSB DLC characters of interest to me.

I doubt this deal will still be in effect when I have money again, though. D: Oh well.

I'm really curious why they decided to do a whole Direct for this update. I imagine it might have to do with the new series of Amiibo cards.

I was actually thinking of buy eventually (when I have money to throw around lol) to have the whole series handheld, but I don't know anything about cloud. I assume that means that they game can't even be played without internet.

I don't really understand why 1.5 and 2.5 couldn't be ported, but okay.

@Teksetter I mean the vast majority of the fighters pass has been third party. I would have rather saw much more focus on first party, but it's no surprise that they went out with a third party. The fact of the matter is that Sora was highly requested and also thematically fits perfectly alongside Nintendo characters.

Better we go out with Sora than some random third party bulky fighting dude that has little history with Nintendo at all. The fighter's pass unfortunately had characters like that.

I would have expected the retro character to be in the base game, not the final character from the DLC.

It was another solid Direct from Nintendo, as the rest of the Nintendo Directs this year have been.

I'm not happy with the new tier NSO, but I am really excited for the 3D Kirby. Early next year is going to be amazing with it and Pokemon Legends Arceus.

I do not like this guy. He'll probably be a decent voice actor in of itself. I hate it when jerks become beloved voice actors. Like James Woods as Disney's Hades. Absolutely perfect for the role, but he's a despicable human being.
