I've got nothing against sexy women in video games (or sexy men, but they are never sexualized the same way women are) but there's a difference between "being sexy" and "only there to be sexy".

DoA just uses needlessly bouncy women to appeal to young male gamers and give them an object of sexual fantasy. No "cultural barrier" involved, just that Hayashi can't admit that his games prey on sexually confused men.

Just a nitpick but I think the title meant to say, "Chikorita, Cyndaquil, and Totodile"

Not sure why but James Montagna's idea sounds the most captivating to me. That sounds like a great idea that could potentially work, and sounds like something Nintendo would try.

That last part is exactly what I'd expect from Paul Robertson!

I definitely don't like PewDiePie, or agree with him 100% but he's actually making a good decision with this.

The point is that Nintendo videos now give him significantly less money in ad revenue (of which is part of his living, all cash he already has aside), so of course those games would be at the bottom of his list to play. You have no place to judge the people or the quality of the content in this issue — fact is that people like him, watch his videos, and he gets money from ads. The content does not matter, simply the fact of its monetization. People do make livings on this type of thing, and just because they need the money doesn't mean they don't care about the games. (of course this is not true of every LPer, but it's an unfair assumption)

Nintendo's program is very harmful to YouTubers who want to show anything of theirs. They should drop this program quickly as they clearly just don't know how to deal with the issue.

@Damo Okay, my issue is why, if you felt that, to not put that explanation in the article. I was just very confused to see a seemingly unrelated video with no apparent reason for it to be there, that's all.

How exactly is the quality of Sonic Boom relevant to any of this? Why is your video about it at the end of the article @Damo? It has absolutely nothing to do with any of this news.

Nice! My biggest problems with 8-Player Smash was the lack of stages available. Hopefully they'll continue to add more.

@Chrizzel28 He said that they were stereotypical and uncomfortable to see, and that Nintendo is better than that. No implication of wrongdoing there, only that he thinks it was unnecessary to use stereotypes.

At no point did I ever get the impression "he took offense", or is "clearly" attempting to accuse Nintendo of being racist. You're jumping to conclusions.

You're also overreacting when you say, "this is how the word racist is losing its meaning." when the word was never used at all.

@Chrizzel28 Except nobody, in the original video or the article, said that it's racist or is calling Nintendo racist. I don't know where you're getting that word from.

OK, so once again, the guy in the original video not once used the words "offended"or "racist". The accusations most of you are making about the guy are really out of line. No a need to mock him and call him an idiot or hypocrite just because he said it was "weird".

And I agree with you on that last part, @Damo. My first thought and main issue was how odd it was to make Mario's skin darker. Just felt totally unneeded , like if someone cosplays a character but painted their skin darker to be recognizable. Changing the skin tone as if it's part of the costume feels just slightly insulting.

@Damo I just don't get it. In a very short period of the whole video, he expresses his discomfort with the game, and says, "Come on Nintendo. You're better than this." and you deem it worthy of an article.

I appreciate that you're trying to point out the differences in what's been accepted in gaming over time — honestly, I really do and I'm not being sarcastic. I also think some of the commenters are overreacting... But if you care about the issue, then why not just make your own soapbox article on the issue instead of using some of his own words? Maybe you could talk about other examples, like Punch Out. Was it really necessary to give that little part of the video its own article?

I'm sorry but the fact he tipped you off makes it look more like clickbait and a way for him to get more views on his video, when the majority of it doesn't even focus on the issue at hand.

And for the record guys, in the video he didn't even say, "I'm offended." or "It's offensive." Nothing like that. So quit trying to act all smart cause you think someone is too sensitive — not that any of you haven't overreacted, by the way.

Well, I'm already getting the Smash CDs, and I already have the soundtracks to Kid Icarus Uprising, Fire Emblem Awakening, and Hyrule Warriors (with the last being my favorite).

I suppose I'd go with Xenoblade Chronicles, as from what I've heard from Smash it has a good variety. SM3DW, ALBW, and MK8 have very great tracks, too. I don't know much about Luigi's Mansion or DKCRTF music.

But this is all very interesting stuff. The fact that Suicune is playable means that basically any 'Mon could be too — it's not just restricted to Fighting-types or bipedals. I'm hoping that Sceptile, Mewtwo, or Garchomp could be playable, but there's many possibilities.

Wish I could see one of Kirby and Dedede.

Did they try to add as much bloom as they possibly could in this? I mean the last image just looks horribly bright.

I think when NL made the first article about this code when it was announced for Japan, they said the code could be used multiple times for one person, giving you unlimited Serperiors. I'm wondering if that's still possible or not.

@TobaisAmaranth People shouldn't have to be direct with you if they feel you've violated their right to personal space. You shouldn't be so direct with them in the first place — just because you think you can tell how comfortable someone is with it doesn't mean you should anyway. That person likely wont want to interact with you anymore after that, which is why they're not going to be direct with you about it.

I also simply don't understand your part about furry conventions. Just because it's accepted there does not mean it should be acceptable for everyone, nor should you assume the same for anyone at those cons either. Everyone has different personal boundaries, and those boundaries shouldn't be invaded in the first place, no matter where you are.

And just because some of us believe those actions aren't okay means we're "touch-phobic"? You mean people can't be uncomfortable with strangers touching them, and if they do they're paranoid? And again about your furry con bit — what do you mean by "most people" and "most things aren't sexual"? I'm not making any judgments about furries but I would not be comfortable in such an environment, if you describe it like that.

For a developer named TreeFall studios they sure aren't very good at drawing trees... Or anything else really.

I wonder what exactly he means by "more Nintendo characters". Obviously it would be odd to feature Link or Pikachu when the title is Super Mario Edition.

Maybe by that he could mean characters that have their own separate series and fit under the catch-all 'Nintendo' umbrella, but are still prominent Mario characters. I'm thinking Donkey Kong, Wario, and Yoshi (obviously as he's on the box art).

I'm definitely excited to hear Miyamoto-san even consider an F-Zero title — but no matter how bad the GamePad could be for it, that shouldn't keep it from happening.

After all, if they can make an F-Zero for the N64 and its controller, why can't they make one with the GamePad in mind?
