Re: Here Are Your Pokémon GO Team Leaders

@blaisedinsd @J-Manix98 Yeah, Blanche is male so whatever is meant by Instinct being "inherently superior" due to being the only male is wrong.

If anything, by that logic, Candela is inherently superior due to being the only female!

Re: Guide: Pokémon GO Monster Types And Where To Find Them

FriedSquid

I think this sounds incredibly made-up, and some may just be coincidental. I bet a good portion of these are fake or myths.

Dark types do not exist in Gen 1, so that is obviously a fake report. I'd say it damages the credibility of other reports coming from the same source.

But why should I expect anything more than misinformation from Damo?

Re: Pokémon GO Global Rollout Delayed While Niantic Fixes Server Woes

FriedSquid

I know it's mobile Pokemon, which is bound to have a strong reaction, but I think I feel their surprise too. So many friends and family of mine, who have never played Pokemon in their life, are enjoying this app. Guess they just didn't calculate the appeal of this app to those outside the Pokemon fan base.

Which was a mistake on their part, so they really should have those servers running like smooth butter if possible.

Re: Let Yacht Club Games Know What Game You'd Like Next

FriedSquid

I can't even really decide. I just want Yacht Club to make something unique instead of just using a well-known game as a template. I want to see how they can push Shovel Knight further, not make him like Link or Mario or Samus.

I would really be more interested to see if Yacht Club has something new to offer that isn't Shovel Knight. Much as I like him, I would love to see a new character come from YCG.

Re: Western Localisation Of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Features Costume And Age Changes

FriedSquid

Yeah guys it's totally NoA's fault. Atlus has never censored their own products in the West!

"Revelations: Persona was heavily changed when it was localized for a North American release. All characters were renamed and several of them had their appearance altered as well. Nearly all references to Japan or Japanese culture were cut, with the unusual exception being the shoe lockers and Shinto Shrines in the game. Many of the Personas were renamed rather than translated, and the town's name was changed to "Lunarvale". Yen was changed to dollars, and the overall difficulty of the game was reduced by lowering the enemy encounter rates and increasing the experience gained."

I know this was back in 90s, but can you think of a localized-by-Nintendo game that changed almost all references to Japan to be Westernized? And honestly I'm not sure if there is one. Atlus doesn't have a perfect track record so I wouldn't put it past them to be the ones responsible for the changes here. But my point is that these changes are really nothing compared to the way it could be. Think about what's really important to you with this game. Also, they are rumors, so go ahead and decide not to buy the game based on that by the way.

Stop being so self-centered! I can guarantee "Daddy Nintendo" is not trying to protect you or children from seeing a bikini. I bet what they are protecting is their own asses, in case an angry parent wanted to sue them for selling porn to their kids or some kind of exaggeration like that. Or maybe they're trying to protect themselves from those dreaded SJWs that hide under your beds at night! Whatever the case Nintendo still let you play Bayonetta and Senran Kagura, I'm sure there is a reason Atlus felt they needed to make these changes. And I can't believe some of you are going as far as linking Iwata's death to something as trivial as this.

Re: Toys-To-Life Newcomer Thinks We're Growing Bored Of Pieces Of Plastic

I've hit about 50 amiibos so far ever since their release... Still not tired of 'em. I even have 5 Marios (Smash Mario, Silver Mario, Classic 8Bit Mario, Dr. Mario, and Green Mario )

I buy them to collect, and their price, in my opinion, is cheap enough that I get a neat statue with some functionality to go with it. I don't understand people complaining about locked DLC. Despite how many I have I've never felt like I "needed" to use any of them to unlock something. They're just a nice bonus to have around for a game like HW or SMM.

Re: Art: If Nintendo Ever Took Zelda Into The Future, We'd Want Link To Look Like This

FriedSquid

I'm not against the idea of Link set in a technologically-advanced Hyrule, but something in particular about this designs doesn't sit well with me.

I think the addition of white and especially orange to Link's outfit is kinda ugly. But otherwise not a terrible design. The Master Sword however is a timeless weapon so I don't see why it would change, but the idea of a futuristic beam-shooting sword could be pretty cool...

Re: Popular Super Mario Maker Speedrunner and Streamer Has All His Levels Deleted by Nintendo

FriedSquid

@R_Champ I get what you're saying, and my intention isn't to glorify just anyone who gives to charity and put down those who don't. All I'm saying is, people can call him lazy, but he tried to put that money to a good cause. Should all charity live streams not get any money just because they sit and play video games?

I'm not saying this guy is the nicest guy ever, or that let's players are all good people. All I'm trying to say is people should stop acting so judgmental towards these people. People should focus more on themselves and what they can do better instead of judging others for doing harmless activities like let's plays.
