Re: Nintendo Is Making Female Characters Cover Up For The Western Version Of Xenoblade Chronicles X

EllenJMiller

Waiting to hear if the changes only affect Lyn, and not the other characters. If it's just for Lyn, fine, whatever.

Keep in mind that the outfits were designed for female characters, of which Lyn is one, and thus able to equip it. It's not like they went out of their way to design it for her specifically.

If I can still take my custom protagonist designed to look like me down to the beach with some beach fashion and my mech for a little Skells Illustrated. I'll be happy. I dress modestly in life and it's fun to muck about in games with outfits I wouldn't otherwise wear. Saints Row 3 and 4 were great fun for that.

Re: Poll: The Tricky Issue of Retail Games as Download-Only Releases

EllenJMiller

I only have two download games for my Wii U: Wii Fit U (Got the promo version, linked a Wii Fit Meter to it to unlock the full version) and Wii Party U (a free download after buying Mario Kart 8)

Aside from those exceptions, physical games are the choice for me. If I can't get a game as a physical copy, I'll get it digitally but I tend not to value them or treasure them as highly. The day when games stop getting physical retail releases is the day I stop and just focus on my back catalogue.

Re: Nintendo Direct Broadcasts Will Continue Despite Iwata's Passing

I didn't think they'd stop doing them, it'd be silly too. I think the format they'll return in will pretty much be the same as we've seen, with someone doing a lead in that is then picked up by a regional host (Morimoto for JP, Bill or Reggie for NA, Shibata for EU), with devs appearing as needed and Damon for Nindie stuff. Throw in the odd Treehouse appearance too.

Re: Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pair Of Hands In Changing Times

@dizzy_boy NoA gearing up Nintendo Software Technology would be interesting. Previously NST put out titles like Wave Race: Blue Storm, 1080 Avalanche, and Metroid Prime Hunters. Currently they've just been working on the Mario vs Donkey Kong titles, crossword games and Aura-Aura Climber.

NoE could make closer use of European developers like Shi'nen Multimedia and Image & Form, or staff up for their own NST analogue.

Re: Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pair Of Hands In Changing Times

@JamesCoote Why would they merge NoA and NoE? 3rd party devs would still have to submit games to ratings agencies in Europe, there'd still have to be translation done for the various languages, and there are different laws and regulations in both regions. Plus marketing companies, distribution companies, work with vendors... and there's likely financial reasons to consider too.
