It feels like Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash has been cruising under the radar, even as real-life tennis has lately grabbed even more attention than it tends to. The Nintendo UK Store, however, is starting to hype up the 20 November release of the game in Europe with a couple fine items for those who pre-order through them.
Going through the UK store for Ultra Smash will add a Mario soft toy and a branded tennis ball to the £39.99 deal. Certainly not a bad offer for those who've already committed themselves to picking this title up. There is currently no news of any offers accompanying the game elsewhere, let alone a firm release date for North America and Australia.

I don't think I'll be getting this game, but the Tennis Ball does look cool.
They've offered the same tatty looking Mario plush with a few other games, it's not much of an incentive.
I already have that Mario plush, so I'll pass on that.
Meh. Talk about a generic-looking plushie. The ball probably isn't very well-made either. I think I'll just give them away.
...Is what I'd say if I, y'know, actually lived in the UK.
I suppose this means Mario Tennis hasn't been delayed.
Yet.
That is the saddest looking Mario plushie I have ever seen...
I don't do Mario sports games. I'll pass on this one.
I'm tired of "hype" being used for every game being released lately. Mario Tennis is hardly worth hyping up for. That being said, the tennis ball is pretty cool!
@MasterBombad I will apply all hype to the tennis ball, then. Thank you!
Some terrible boxart there!
Still not too sure about this. I've always enjoyed Mario Tennis, but we know next to nothing about it and from the gameplay it seemed to just be Mario Tennis Open with mega mushrooms. If they drop the price and reveal a bit more on it then I'll be interested, but for now I'm just set on Xenoblade, Mario Maker, and Yoshi for this holiday season.
im with @wiggleronacid on this one we don't know nothing for this yet, to get me interested in this or Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival,
The plushy looks kind of ugly.
The 3DS Mario Tennis was the first and only Tennis game I've bought. I won't be buying another.
Also, I feel like I've seen that plushy before.
That's the most pathetic looking Mario plush I've ever seen.
So Nintendo just started promoting Mario on Nov 20 which up until last week was Starfox's date. Coincidence?
Kinda bummed that Nintendo does all this with Mario, but then games like beyonetta don't sell well.
@rjejr Depends on timing. Both titles were announced for the same date in the same release: https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/08/nintendo_confirms_super_mario_maker_console_bundle_and_key_release_dates_for_north_america_and_europe
It is so depressing that this is the second-biggest wii u game out soon.
@TimLatshaw Oh sorry, NA doesn't seem to have a date yet, didn't realize you guys did, I was going off of this:
Release Date:
Q4 2015 (USA)
Q4 2015 (UK/EU)
Give me a new Mario Strikers and then I'll consider adding a Mario sports game (or just a sports game in general) to my collection. Otherwise, I'll pass. Probably good games. Not for me.
Even though the plush looks meh, congrats for Nintendo UK to get video game incentives right (even if they suck) NoA look at them! But seriously.. is that the box art?
Eh, looks like fun, but I need more info. I like Power Tennis, Ope, and even Virtual Boy Mario's Tennis, so I hope it turns out good! =)
If there's no story mode why even make this. Please have a story mode. Or like any modes at all. ( looking at your mario tennis open)
@Ichiban: Indeed, I hope that's nog the final box art, because this looks really cheap.
Still not interested.
Q) Are you planning on picking up Ultra Smash, with or without fuzzy gifts?
A) I plan to pick it up without a fuzzy gift, as I've already pre-ordered it from my nearest Game store.
Whilst I am looking forward to Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash, we currently know little about it, so I'd rather be hearing more information about the game rather than what bonuses come with a pre-order.
Of course, my excitement for it is due to it being a console Mario Tennis game, and I absolutely love the N64 and Gamecube entries. It still would be appreciated to see more of the game, the character selection, and what modes it has.
We know virtually nothing about this game so until that changes I'm in the "not buying" view.
£39.99?! Hahaha, no.
Online play present? If yes, I'll get it. If not, pass.
Wish it was Mario Golf, can play that one with my old man.
Mario Tennis on the N64 was/is a superb game. It's perfect for local multi-player shenanigans and it's so much fun, more so than Mario Kart 64 IMO. However, this new iteration looks far to gimmicky with that mega mushroom thing; it breaks up the main game which would be so annoying. So this will be joining the likes of Mario Party 64 and Kirby as Nintendo Wii U games not joining my collection. Project Zero 5 and Xenoblade will be my winter treats, if I can stop playing Splatoon and SMM.
Hopefully they don't region lock the online like they did with Mario Tennis Open as that killed the mode, not sure I'm even buying as it looks like Open with mega mushrooms.
I really don't want that plush, yuck.
I want a meatier singeplayer than the bare bonus Mario Kart 8 has, if it doesn't I won't be getting it.
I preordered this, just to have it on order until Amazon inevitably undercuts them in price... and I received an email yesterday saying the plushie had been dispatched?!
Pretty sure Ninty know this game isn't going to sell.
Make a new exclusive first party horror franchise Nintendo! I'll buy that.
@MasterBombad
I'm actually pretty hyped, myself. Mario Tennis has always been my favorite Mario sports title, so I'm excited to pick this up.
I would have bought this game if it wasn't £40.00, if it was £35.00 it would be more tempting.
