Re: Anniversary: n-Space & Nintendo's M-Rated GameCube Gem Is 20 Years Old

Eeros

Picked this game up from the $5 walmart bargain bin when walmart was selling gamecube games at the end of it's life. I remember being sucked into playing this game, even my sibling played the mutiplayer with me. Would love to see it remade, though I will probably be breaking out my copy of it before that time. Great sleeper title.

Re: "Don't Let Nintendo Ruin The Entire Industry" - Is $80 For Mario Kart World A Bridge Too Far?

Eeros

This makes the steam deck look damn affordable. I already have a huge library of games, and their sales are actually sales. Plus you don't have to run Elden Ring at potato level graphics.

The last switch game I bought was ToTK, games are just too expensive to buy for console these days. There are too many other extensive catalogs of games to play in the mean time, hard to justify. Now if you want to play the Latest and Greatest, again. Many folks have a decent PC these days....

Re: Poll: Which Starter Pokémon Will You Choose In Legends: Z-A?

Eeros

Totodile! Still love him from my original play through of Silver. I'm excited and nervous about this one haha. The battling/dodging looks awesome and is something I've always wanted to do in a game. But the rest of the video left me a little wary.

After such an open setting it will be harder to adjust to city life. Especially with the track record of these more recent games with having barren city environments.

Re: Soapbox: Square Enix's "Extraordinary Losses" And This Whole Xbox Mess Have Me Scared For The Future

Eeros

The other issue is economic time's are rough right now, or could be even rougher in the future. I'm sure this has caused lot's of folks to pair down on game releases they would like to get. All of these studios releasing $40-$60 games so rapidly just really becomes unsustainable. I've never really been too into Square Enix's library, but they didn't endear me to them by announcing NFT stuff.

Regardless I wish companies would remember that in order for folks to buy a game, it needs to have some sort of marketing attached to it. Some way of getting the name out. Otherwise their titles are just going to get lost in a sea of 30/40/50 other titles releasing in the same genre or time span. Heck even price range.

Re: Best Kirby Games Of All Time

Eeros

Kirby Air Ride 2 when?
Played tons of Air Ride and Amazing Mirror with friends as a kid, really the only way those games are meant to be played.

Re: Saber Interactive CEO Doesn't Think $70 Video Games Are Sustainable

Eeros

My last game purchase (Physical, Digital, Nintendo or otherwise) was ToTK........wow almost a year ago now. Usually I like to buy new games pretty often, there are plenty of titles out there I would like to play, but unfortunately my budget, (and free time) are small. I have been looking more at $30 and under purchases/only on sale purchases but haven't made any yet. Can't imagine trying to keep up with all of these titles as they come out, paying full price or more for special editions. fondly remembers the time where $20 could get you a GBA game Videogames are still entertainment and unfortunately food and shelter have to come first in the budget.

Re: Soapbox: 15 Years Ago, The Action Replay Ruined Pokémon For Me

Eeros

I loved using my action replay to make all the pokemon appearing in game be their shiny counterpart. It was a ton of fun to play my copy of Pearl in that way seeing all of the fun colors. Luckily all my time spent with the AR in Pokemon didn't end in corruptible failure, unlike my attempts with it in Phantom Hourglass in the later hours of the game.

Re: Talking Point: 20 Years Of The Best Game Boy Ever - How Did You Get Your GBA SP?

Eeros

I clearly remember getting my Blue Sp for my birthday after (no doubt) driving my parents crazy with begging for it. So so so many countless hours playing that thing on long car trips cross country, battling cousins in Pokemon when they came over for Holidays. SO many great times. I even remember fondly cracking it out during english class my senior year after replacing the rechargeable battery. I never had an original game boy advance, and I do want to get one to mod with a cool shell and backlighting, I think it would fit better in my now adult hands.

Wish Nintendo would release the SP games for purchase through the eshop instead of with their membership. I'm not interested in renting them when I have the carts stored away, i'd rather spend the money on BUYing them on new consoles.

Re: Pokémon Fans Vent Frustrations Online About Scarlet & Violet's Technical Issues

Eeros

Put it back in the oven, its not done yet.

I'm enjoying the game, but the bugs do take me out of it. One thing i've been thinking about is the graphical style, Arceus, BOTW, and a lot of the games listed above have more....stylistic cartoony worlds. Can't help but to think if they had gone more that direction instead of the more realistic tone that folks wanted if some of these issues would have been less noticeable. Haven't we always said cel-shaded games age better?

Re: Atlus Celebrates 30 Years Of Shin Megami Tensei With Special Artwork

Eeros

I would love a port of the 3DS games to switch. I only just started playing SMT IV this year when it went on sale (I think it was on sale?) and somehow sunk 20+ hours into it the first week I had it. As someone who doesn't particularly like JRPG's nor have any ties to the franchise or spinoffs, 20+ hours is crazy talk. I do play on baby mode because I don't like it when games repeatedly kick you into the dirt, I know that's how this franchise is, but i'm still getting though it without it being too hard or too easy. Just right for me at the moment, still trying to learn mechanics. Like Digimon the classification system is a mystery for me.

I'd also love to see Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army, and its sequel re-released/available. I would love to play those without spending over $200 USD.

The artstyle is my favorite part of the SMT/Persona series. : )

Re: Find Out How Pokémon Cards Are Made In This Never-Before-Seen Internal Video

Eeros

What an amazing video, absolutely drooling. Loved being able to see the graphics end of the printing process, really interesting to get a tiny peak at how they layer their artwork and what their process is. Also how they do the foil designs! I've loved pouring over those beautifully textured foil cards.

As for printing, keep in mind they have 7 presses, each with UV and inline coating abilities. So if one press can do 26.62 Million in one day, imagine 7 doing 186.34 million cards running at max capacity!

The quality control/Dot gain/ink and color density checking process was awesome to see since we can see partially printed sheets. (The one on the foil with the white plate only was so cool)

This is truly a dream job as a designer/pre-press artist though i'm sure it's a extremely challenging and frustrating job. (Pre-Press is Person setting up imposition and layout before the printing/plating process starts)

Re: The New Fire Emblem Hero Was Created By A VTuber Designer

Eeros

I've only played part of Shadow Dragon, and am not really interested in tactical RPG's but the visual style for this game looks more appealing than the previous games for some reason. I do like the design despite being that sort of 'Mary Sue' look. I'm over it being cringe at this point. Down with cringe. Not a day one purchase but maybe at some point.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Eeros

@Geit_de A great explanation, thanks! I would have just assumed that your own connection effects only you, the person with the connection issue. Just making you drop the match leading to 3v4 matches. Not sure if they changed it at all between the two games, but Splatoon 2 seemed much more stable overall.

Whoever is playing Splatoon in handheld is a better man than I, can hardly see whats going on in all the action on the small screen. Thanks for the break down, I'm more apt to consider doing LAN in the future.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Eeros

@Geit_de I'm wondering if it was a connection issue on Nintendo's end because I got tons of disconnects, not something I ever really have an issue with in Splatoon 2. Wondering if it was overloading something on their end. Maybe my internet was just crap yesterday but I have been seeing a lot of connection issues overall.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think Of Tricolor Turf War In Splatoon 3?

Eeros

Defending in the tricolor splatfest was a nightmare. I probably ended up in 10-15 tricolor matches and only won 2 of them. That's pretty rough.

An idea would be to make the ultra beacon useable by any team and make it equidistant for everyone, or maybe make it more like a capture the flag type ability that attaches to your player so you can move it around the map. It would stick to you and create a spray of ink, and you can still use your normal weapon. Sort of like tower defense, but once the player running around with it dies it has a brief time where you can pick it up before it respawns back at the central location for someone else to pick it up.

Something has got to give, it's way too unbalanced against the defending team in a way that makes the game unfun and frustrating. Maybe a custom map that has some advantages for defense, or is more designed for defensive teams in mind instead of reusing a map designed for 2 team battle.

Re: Dev Delays 'A Space For The Unbound' After Feeling 'Exploited' By Publisher

Eeros

@jcboyer515 It sounds like we don't see quite eye to eye despite facing the same direction. I see their comments more of "Yeah BUT-" rather than. "I want to hear what the other side has to say before making my judgement." Just the vibes i'm getting. People can be wrong, people can be right. Corps can be good, corps can be bad. I myself am more apt to believe developers who said they are wronged vs the publisher, who from my view has more power in this dynamic. Everyone's free to develop their own opinions though.

Re: Dev Delays 'A Space For The Unbound' After Feeling 'Exploited' By Publisher

Eeros

@Ryu_Niiyama People do things on behalf of companies all the time. Yes Individuals make decisions, but that doesn't mean it isn't a decision that the company as a whole makes. Business moves are business moves. I'm not saying don't request further information. Information has been requested by NL staff and other games journalists already with no word. See what the publisher says and make your decisions based on that.

Re: Dev Delays 'A Space For The Unbound' After Feeling 'Exploited' By Publisher

Eeros

@jcboyer515 I'm not saying that you shouldn't be asking for the whole story before passing judgement on something. I'm just shaking my head that people think that companies are their friends and jumping immediately to their defense. That they and won't try every and any trick in the book to make a buck, right or wrong. Facts or not, corporations are not your friends, they aren't your buddy, pal, funny twitter user BFF. They won't give you anything for defending them on nintendolife or twitter.com. That's mostly what I'm getting at here. No need to grovel at their feet, just come out and say "Can we get more information from the publisher?"

Re: Dev Delays 'A Space For The Unbound' After Feeling 'Exploited' By Publisher

Eeros

@Sonos I mean, its their official statement...on twitter. Not just one of the Devs personal twitter account just making random comments with no word from the whole Dev team. Its a PR statement. Do you want them to mail you a personal signed letter to your house? Most all companies/projects have social media accounts where they post their PR notices.

Re: Dev Delays 'A Space For The Unbound' After Feeling 'Exploited' By Publisher

Eeros

Weird that the comments section is jumping to defend the publisher. I've seen this scenario plenty of times, especially with U.S COVID Paycheck Protection grants. Companies accept paycheck protection grant (Intended to keep employees on staff and paid 40 hrs) then lay folks off and/or cut their hours. Pocket the cash. Same with the other Business loans, accept the money and just pocket it, let it get written off. This story is totally believable, sure hearing what the publisher has to say is fine but dang, remove the boot. They aren't your friends.

Re: Pokémon Shuffle To Enter 'End Of Life' Service On 3DS In 2023

Eeros

Depressing. I loved this game. Some stages were wicked hard but still it was satisfying to clear a stage you were having trouble with. I guess this means we will have to go back to Trozei. I wish they would make a new trozei game, I really love the simplified icons and quick game play. Probably unlikely since the Switch doesn't particularly utilize the touch screen.

Re: Pokémon Unite Teases Familiar, Ferocious Legendary And Brand New Stage

Eeros

New map looks interesting, I wish that there were many new maps/battle modes. I know its a F2P game, but after a year I feel like there should be more than 1 main map and 2 main Mini/quick games to choose from at this point. I feel like even just different skins/music for the main battle map would be an improvement, for the sake of variety.

I've been on and off for this game, but it is quite fun. More fun than I was expecting.

Re: Deals: Still Haven't Played BioShock? It's Too Good To Miss At This Price (Europe)

Eeros

@sketchturner Infinite is the worst one, Bioshock 1 and 2 are great games with different shooter mechanics, (Plasmids/Upgrades are different and allow for more customization/fine tuning, you have a larger roster of weapons and you can hold more than two, health packs vs shield/recharging health) There's a lot of differences between them.

As far as the story goes I think it's a lot more interesting/compelling than with Booker and Elizabeth. Plus there are more side characters/NPC's that are interesting and dynamic. It keeps you moving along and feeding you story elements throughout plus the atmosphere of Rapture is a lot more fleshed out than Columbia. I could go on about how much they dropped the ball on Infinite but alas this is a comments section, there have been many a good youtube video discussing that if you were further interested.

Bioshock 1 and 2 are often on sale on Steam if you have a half way decent PC. Usually you can pick them up for $5-10 bucks not sure about the price on the remasters. I can't say how they would run on switch as I haven't played them there. But I mean... they probably run better than they did on my jank low powered PC back in the day? Hoping anyways.
