Even with the surprisingly low Famitsu score, I’m still picking this up on Friday. Snagged this, Mario vs Donkey Kong, and Princess Peach Showtime when Best Buy temporarily brought back its ‘Buy 2, Get 1’ deal back in December.
I might jump back in once Peacemaker releases, but Invasions mode is a grind, and you basically just unlock a color swap of an existing skin for each fighter, with the better costumes seemingly being locked behind micro transactions and DLC fighters receiving no new content.
I’m curious if there is actually going to be a physical edition. PlayAsia lists physical editions for multiple regions, including a USA release, but I haven’t seen it for sale anywhere else.
This game needs a patch. Currently my save file is unusable because aiming left or down causes the item wheel to pull up. This happens every time, even after changing controllers.
Ebenezer and the Invisible World followed by Cthulhu Saves Christmas. If there is time, The Grinch: Christmas Adventures. I’m going festive this weekend.
I am okay with not having kross-play at the moment. I appreciate the game actually functioning and performing fairly well after the latest update. It is a low bar compared to the other consoles, but it is one that they thankfully finally cleared.
@TYRANACLES With Hammerwatch 2, it seems like they wanted to make a game closer to Diablo, but struggled in the execution. I also don’t know why they felt the need to include a day/night cycle.
@TYRANACLES So far I would describe it as “meh.” I’m really having trouble getting into it, but hoping that it will finally win me over after I put a few more hours into it. It isn’t bad, but I definitely wish that I had waited for a sale.
I plan on jumping between Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!!, Hammerwatch 2, and the third season of invasions in Mortal Kombat 1.
@sanderev Larian Studios is releasing a physical edition that is for sale exclusively on their website. It includes the game (2 discs for the PS5 version) with all of the in-game DLC included on the discs, a world map, the soundtrack (3 discs), 32 stickers, a poster, two patches, and a deluxe edition box, all of this for $79.99 plus shipping (about $20).
Edit: That went over my head at first. I thought you were referring to the Asian import of the game that still required a download.
I can’t wait for my physical edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 to arrive. I have been wanting to play this game for months, but held off because I refuse to pay $50+ for a digital game.
I really want to like this game, but the grind can be real at times. You will be destroying all of the normal enemies easily, get to a boss fight, and die quite easily.
What did they expect? They released a very mid-level Sonic game the same week as Mario Wonder and Spider-Man 2. Sega needs to step up their game, if they want to compete against those kinds of titles.
If Mario Kart did something similar to Forza Horizon but with Nintendo IPs and characters from multiple franchises for the different open world sandboxes, they could have a terrifically refreshing Mario Kart game on their hands.
A 4/10 seems a bit harsh. Although a bit rough around the edges, my wife and I had an enjoyable enough time with this over the weekend. A 6 or a 7 seems a bit more accurate, in my opinion. Nothing revolutionary, nothing awful, just very mid-tier in almost every way. Overall, it was an okay experience.
@Truegamer79 I have only played Invasions mode since the update, but loading times are still pretty bad (30 - 45 seconds). It definitely does look and perform better, though.
GameMill was probably desperate to kick this game out the door before the Christmas season. It will probably somewhat work after a patch in December / January, at best.
@TYRANACLES I did. Knowing it was done by the same team is why I decided to preorder it. Otherwise, I would have been very wary of buying a Robocop game in 2023.
@TYRANACLES the new Robocop game is a lot of fun. Like Ghostbusters: The Video Game (2009), it feels like you are playing a sequel that never happened. It’s the game that I am mainly focusing on this weekend.
@GEKGanon I saw that Cyrax’s fatalities finally works, but it was extremely sluggish when I used it. So was Johnny Cage’s car fatality. Loading time is also worse. I was playing in Invasions mode, so maybe different modes now perform better. But I definitely saw an increase in loading times and sluggish fatalities.

Huh, unlike Postal 3, this game actually has good reviews on Steam. Now to wait for a Limited Run release.
Re: Mini Review: Shinorubi (Switch) - A Curious Shooter That's A No-Go In Docked Mode

I can’t wait for this game! If I had time, I would play through the previous Nintendo Switch version.
Re: Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2 Now Reportedly Has An "Actual Cartridge" Release
I don’t know why companies do this. Lego 2K Drive did the same thing for the Switch. It started out as Code-In-Box and then transitioned to cartridge.
