Re: Pokémon Pokopia Gets March 2026 Release Date, Brand New Trailer Coming This Week

Dizzymario

@JohnnyMind the game is depicted as a game key card in an official Nintendo advert. I’m sure Nintendo is fully aware of the implications that picture gave off and considering the multiple other ways “sample” can be interpreted and the negative connotation Nintendo gets for GKCs I have trouble believing that they would depict the game as a GKC just for this video but the not as an actual product

Re: Surprise! Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition Arrives Next Year

Dizzymario

Not huge on them just rehashing content from the previous PAID update for free now. Could they really not have just worked in a tortimer island type mode to the hotel instead of another decorating minigame? We’re already getting the dream island in this update which actually serves to add something new, so why more decorating again. Would’ve been nice to see some upgrade to the shops too considering how small the nook’s cranny is in this game.

Re: Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase July 2025: Every Announcement, Game Reveal, Trailer

Dizzymario

Awful direct imo. The games they showed were fine, but nothing exciting or really new either, the amount of time they spent on that campfire rubbish was genuinely embarrassing. They didn’t date either elden ring or FF7 even though they are supposedly coming this year, and of course the big looming factor of 99% of the games being on key cards which is a complete turn off. They couldn’t even date their Zelda game which is supposed to be coming this year.

Its pretty worrying that this was all they had to show with how slim the dated game list already was for this year, and to be honest I think it did a better job convincing me to buy a game like persona 3 reload for my PS5 with an actual physical edition for a fraction of the price. Let’s hope the Mario anniversary has something worthwhile to show…

Re: Rumour: A Switch 1 Direct Presentation May Take Place This Week

Dizzymario

I really doubt it tbh. Would have happened back in February considering it’s been silence in terms of new reveals and I don’t think they’d choose to break that now we are 1 week away from the big switch 2 reveal. The whole “ninspider” thing sounds more like a joke than something serious although I don’t have the context I guess

Re: Donkey Kong Country Returns HD Spotted In The Wild

Dizzymario

@Truegamer79 to be fair, I don’t think Nintendo cares if they can top Mario kart 8 or smash ultimate, there’s 0 chance they miss out on a new game for 2 of the 3 best selling switch games. Either way, they can definitely top ultimate considering how much that game skimped on the side content in favour of just focusing on characters and a fairly basic story mode. Just add some interesting side modes and new exciting characters and they’ll be fine even with character cuts. As for Mario kart they really just need an interesting gimmick like r/t tracks and something like the mission mode and they’re golden.

Re: Bandai Namco Unveils New Pac-Man Game, And It's Probably Not What You Expect

Dizzymario

People seem really mixed on this, but I feel like people also complain about pac man never doing anything new. Regardless of it being an “edgy reimagining” I think it’s nice to see them make something that isn’t just a port of the arcade game or a Mario esque title. So long as we keep getting regular pac man content I see no issue with this whatsoever and this it honestly looks pretty cool

Re: Talking Point: After A September No-Show, Will There Be An October Nintendo Direct?

Dizzymario

I do think we’ll see a switch 2 reveal this month tbh. You can pick away at the circumstances and specific wording Nintendo used but at the end of the day it was Nintendo who said they wouldn’t mind sacrificing switch 1 sales in order to ensure a smooth transition to the new console. I don’t think they have a strong enough line up going in to 2025 to not have a reveal coming soon to explain the lack of February games, and I don’t think they would’ve done a partner showcase in August if they had other switch 1 games to show as they would’ve just done a normal direct.

Re: Rumour: Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games "Finished"

Dizzymario

Honestly kind of a shame because I feel like this entry could have finally been the one to fully bring back dream events considering sega seems to finally be somewhat listening to feedback and people were so vocal that they were the best part.

I don’t really get why they didn’t just take the London party formula they used for 2012 and try and improve that for 2016 and 2020. Rival showdown and story mode were fun but London party was always the best “main” offering both for multiplayer and general enjoyment

Re: Splatoon 3 'Drizzle Season' Update Revealed - New Weapons, Stages, Gear And More

Dizzymario

@Deemo37 it’s only 8 kits though and you already know they’ll be straight back on the shooter love for the next season anyway, so I fail to see how it would ultimately save the game. The horrendous map design and poor balance decisions prior don’t exactly inspire confidence in this saving the game either. I’m fully willing to eat my words on this if they do, but I really think there’s no saving 3 now, there’s just too many fundamental issues with the game such as the boring map design which I just don’t think Nintendo will bother to fix tbh. Glad to see others enjoying the update though.

Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe's Sunset Wilds Is Missing One Key Thing

Dizzymario

@Brianst0rm unless I’m just being completely stupid and misremembering, splatoon never has a stage transition from day to night mid March, which is supposedly where the issue comes in as the sky boxes are fixed and cannot be swapped out without moving to a separate sky box which has a very janky animation. It’s the one they use for the tour version of sunset wilds apparently which to be fair does look janky, although I’d personally much prefer that to us just not having the sun set at all.

Re: Mario + Rabbids Sparks Of Hope "Should Have Waited" For Switch Successor, Says Ubisoft CEO

Dizzymario

Ubisoft fails to realise that the first game sold well because it was one of the first switch games to come out and only the second Mario game, so a lot of people bought it for that. The game also was on sale constantly for like £7.50, and it’s still very cheap to buy now. Sparks of hope is still expensive and came out at a time when lots of other tactics games were coming out. I also think it has to do with the fact a lot of those people who bought Mario and rabbids probably weren’t too sold on the tactics gameplay as it is generally an unpopular gameplay style and It’s rare to see a game even sell a quarter as much as kingdom battle sold, so I think a lot of those people just weren’t gonna buy a sequel anyway

Re: Movie Review: The Super Mario Bros. Movie - A Fun Ride That Substitutes Story For Spectacle

Dizzymario

I’m worried about the complaint of story because none of them really elaborate much on it. Is the story boring? Is it bad? Is it the typical illumination issue where there is like 10 minutes of story just scattered in randomly? The third answer sounds correct, but the trailers all seemed decently connected and no reviewer seems to have brought it up. Story is a much more important element for films than it is for video games, so while you can say that Mario doesn’t usually have much story then imo that simply means the franchise isn’t cut out for a movie if it can’t adapt for a little bit of added story. Gameplay is what masks the lack of a story in Mario’s games as it is typically incredible, but there is 0 of that in the movie.

Re: 'Hear Us Niantic' Trends On Social Media In Response To Pokémon GO Remote Raids Update

Dizzymario

Niantic has heard them just fine every other time they’ve done this, they just don’t care at all because they know that ultimately 99.9% of these people will be back on the game spending money within a couple of days. If they want niantic to notice, then I think they’ll just have to stop spending money on the game, which appears to be surprisingly difficult for GO players

Re: Review: Persona 3 Portable - A Fine Series Entry, Though One That's Tough To Return To

Dizzymario

Listen, I’m a big fan of persona 3 but people are kidding themselves about this review being unfair. It’s very much stripped down with its visual novel gameplay, and Tartarus being a bad dungeon is not exactly an incorrect take, especially when it is where you’ll spend a majority of the game. The reviewer reviewing both P3P and P4G looks bad until you remember these games are both more than 10 years old and have minimal changes in this version, the reviewer most likely has played the game to completion before and probably did again for this. I’d say a 7/10 for this game is very generous from a reviewer perspective especially when they need to be more objective with P3P’s many shortcomings compared to the rest of the series and even it’s other versions.

Re: Review: Pokémon Scarlet And Violet - An Open-World Poké Playground Full Of Promise (And Tech Issues)

Dizzymario

@steely_pete I massively agree on this. To give SWSH credit for one thing, I thought it had some incredible character designs like your rivals, the gym leaders, Leon, and even regular trainers whereas SV’s designs do absolutely nothing for me and all look mediocre. That’s not even to mention the fact you have to wear the horrible looking uniform throughout SV which is a massive step down from SWSH’s incredible customisation
