@Poodlestargenerica Yeah, but im saying that this games’ creation was likely due to Cody making a fanmade 3D version of Celeste with the same asthetics first, it’s pretty cool
I desperately hope for a mix of Subspace Emissary and that opening to WoL
Interesting story with all the characters, but with actual dialogue between the characters too
Honestly, the concept of TSE should just be its own game
Imagine a game called “Nintendoverse” or something where all Nintendo IPs merge together into 1 giant 3d world and must defeat a looming threat together, with actual cutscenes and dialogue, boss battles, etc mixed in
As a dude who doesn’t care for old paper mario, I unironically think Bug Fables is one of the greatest games ever made (in my opinion)
It’s so charming.
The writing is funny and good, the story is quite solid, the character dynamics are perfection, the music is amazing, the gameplay is spectacular, the visuals are alright, everything is great!
I can understand why some people may not dig this game, it has a slow start and is an RPG after all, but I don’t think it’s a “paper mario ripoff” as some people put it, it has its own soul and identity from it. And unlike what some people in this thread said, it DOES innovate on the paper mario.
For writing, it’s pretty great. For this part being done all by one person (meaning every little corner, every minus button press in an area was done by a normal dude), somehow manages to work.
It’s funny, the story was crafted well with a solid twist and fun characters, but also manages to craft a perfect character dynamic between the 3 characters.
Arlo put it best. “At the end, many games like this try to say “Look at how far we’ve grown!” but that statement has no weight to it, because we don’t actually see the growth. But in Bug Fables, you can see the characters gradually becoming stronger and bonding together to where when they say that in the end, it feels earned.”
The gameplay is amazing too, the TBC truly shines as (in my opinion) possibly the best combat system a TBC format can have. 3 characters with their own abilities, team relay, medals, team moves, items, spying, and yielding all combine together perfectly.
I ain’t turning this into a review, that ain’t my job, so I’ll end this here.
I just love this game lol
@Truegamer79 “Yeah they've already started in with the daily switch 2 articles like calling it that and talking about it everyday is gonna make Nintendo suddenly announce the successor”
Are we on the same website? They’ve only published like a singular article on Switch 2 leaks this year, and only made like 2 articles about it in regards to predicting Nintendos’ 2024.
“Company reset” Hey unity, if you wanna fix your company to be competent, why not fire the higherups inside the company causing issues instead of a bunch of random employees?
@tseliot the whole ordeal is a lot more complicated then “guy made his own bed, feel no empathy” iirc, he was not really responsible for most of what team executer did, he just worked there and when team executer was being investigated he was the scapegoat/fall guy.
I know a channel named something like “Moon Channel” on YouTube did a really good analysis on the whole ordeal if you want the entire story beyond my compressed in-a-nutshell one.
Personally, I think Bug Fables should’ve made this list Perfectly scratches that specific paper mario itch and is just an amazing game in its own right.
Honestly, I think the best hidden gem this year is a game called “Punch a Bunch” It’s a really fun physics-based boxing game that has literally no discourse surrounding it
@Key19 "No, the problem was that his response video was complete insincere trash that was written by his defense attorneys and read from a teleprompter." Honestly, wouldn't that just make Jirard seem better in this situation? If his lawyers wrote it and told him to say everything in it, that would probably mean he wasn't the one who decided to threaten Karl and Muta
Not defending him at all, but that statement just kinda works in his favor which it doesn't want too
Suprisingly, I played very little games in the later half of this year, with me being about 8 hours in november, 13 hours in October, and probably like 3 this month
I’ll try the demo, to see if I like it Last time I played a game like this, it became my favorite game of all time (Bug Fables) so this could be worth a shot despite its bugs I would probably wait a few months for a patch before I buy this though
Ah yes, the 4 hour advertisement with some trophies given out in-between and developers trying to say something before being pushed aside to shove more ads. Ads, lack of announcement variety, and disrespect to the hard-working developers who spend YEARS making the game you play just make this shoe utterly abysmal.
Some changes need to be made, like please get Geoff away from the hosting position and get someone else who actually cares, a petition for that should be started
Celeste:
— Having to beat every single A, B and C side + chapter 9 all the way through without dying in order to 100% the game
Literal textbook bad game design.
Bug Fables:
— Metal Island feels a bit too small
Super Mario Galaxy:
256 stars to 100% the game, meanwhile 128 of the stars are literally just playing the same level again but with slightly different character physics
Dreams:
— Media Molecule dropped support too soon with no communication with the community, promises of optional Online Multiplayer implementations support for the games made in dreams, 3D model exporting, and more went unpromised.
Still a top 5 game for me, but the empty promises suck.
Super Mario Maker 2:
— World Maker feels underutilized and too many “ReFrEsHinG” levels.
Metroid Dread:
— could’ve used an extra world or one of the latter worlds could’ve been extended in length a little.
@Vexx234 I think you missed the word “eventually” Even with delaying a game, it can still turn out bad and we know that, but delaying strategically and being passionate about what your working with will make the product eventually be good.
Anger: TEAM CHERRY! WHY DENY US SILKSONG?! GIVE IT TO US!!
Bargaining: Please Team Cherry, if you announce it today I will eat my shorts! Please!!
Depression: It’s never coming… is it? It was truly all in my head…
Acceptance: Silksong isn’t ever gonna come, it was all a group hallucination. And that’s okay. I’ve moved onto begging Moonsprout Games for Bug Fables 2 to release now!
@PinderSchloss that’s just overreacting at that point. The koroks won’t be “minionified”, and the fact this is live action helps that case against the idea (in addition to this being made at Sony Pictures) There is a way to do a Zelda movie justice and make it good, it just has to be done correctly with its direction.

I 100% gurantee this was inspired by CodyCantEatThis
Re: Celeste Devs Making "Something Small But Cool" For 6th Anniversary
@jake1421 It’d be really cool if they added PICO-8 Celeste 2 to the main big game itself
Re: Celeste Devs Making "Something Small But Cool" For 6th Anniversary
Celeste is my second favorite game of all time, so any new news regarding it is hype to me lol
Re: 'PJ Masks Power Heroes: Mighty Alliance' Saves The Day On Switch This March
It looks like just an utterly random and cheap licensed kid game honestly, nothing remarkable here.
Re: Peach's Voice Actor Confirms She Is Still The Princess In New Switch Game
Best game ever?
Nah, you can’t beat Bug Fables.
Re: It's Official, 3DS And Wii U Online Play Ends 8th April 2024

The perfect finale will exist.

Damn, that kinda sucks in a way, but it's to be expected and deserved.
Jirard really messed up with the OHF, what he did was scummy and he should be ATLEAST taking accountability instead of trying to sue karl and muta.

Hopefully with the merger, they stop the yearly releases, and just take a few years to actually make a genuinely great one again.
