More Offline singleplayer content and new modes are needed IMO, the fact Splatoon 3 has no new modes besides tabletop is completely insane.
And by more offline singleplayer content, i mean some replayability and some sort of offline turf war with NPCs, and for the love of god the shops should have an offline catalogue too
Nintendo has always been an entertainment company, they just are now expanding to different mediums other then games, merchandise, (1990s) television, etc
I wonder if this opens a door for other random switch bundles, I’d love to see a light-gray switch lite/switch basic smash bundle with a potential design on the back of the 82–ish fighters (or more likely just the smash logo)
I have recently been playing New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe due to wonder, though I also am playing Celeste with nearly 110 hours in the game (had it since May)
I’ve also recently played Mario Party Superstars again, it may overthrow DS as my favorite mp at this point
@mlt yeah, the hate for NSMB is at its peak right now, one game shouldn’t be bought down just to lift the other up.
As for why NSMB2 is my favorite 2D mario? There’s a number of reasons: 1. Nostalgia, of course 2. The level design (I don’t know why, but the design just feels a lot better then the other NSMB games, the improved cannon also factors into this) 3. Visuals (I love the more approach this game takes by actually using a full color palette compared to other NSMB games, in 1-1 alone you can see numerous differently colored semi-solid blocks which is something you did not see in the other games) 4. Coin Rush (Genuinely a fun mode, and makes you strategize how to efficiently get coins fast off of a lot of levels) 5. Music (I know it’s mostly reused, but I actually like the inclusion of more “bah”s, it makes the music feel more alive
There’s more reasons why I think it’s the best but that’s the general gist of it
Why is it that every special edition has great detail put into them but when it comes to Mario, Nintendo always forgets how to add detail and goes “Ooh, red! It looks like the color of Mario”
Based off difficultly probably Celeste, but I don’t mean just a normal play through, I mean a complete max% playthrough, have fun getting 20 nearly impossible golden strawberries and 1 that is certainly impossible! (Farewell Deathless Strawberry)
The switch 2 will launch with Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Deluxe, featuring all the Booster Course Pass DLC included for SURE.
Nah, itll probably launch with a new 3D Mario (exclusive), Earthblade (indie), and Metroid Prime 4 (cross-gen) with a Switch Sports 2, and Mario Kart 9 later in the first 365 days
Since Nintendo loves gimmicks, I predict the Switch 2 will have 2 gimmicks, and those are 2 new modes:
1. VR Mode, basically just an expansion of Labo VR, but with an actually usable accessory that you can put your switch in and put in your head (kind of like the 2010s iPhone VR accessory craze)
2. Mobile Mode, which is basically just a limited phone mode where if you put the console on its side in handheld mode and make it look like a phone, you can play the Nintendo Mobile Games.
@bigpale the music reminds of Newer Super Mario Bros. Wii for some reason lol
though I don’t think it’s a remix of a past mario track, the instrument selection is similar to what we’ve had in the past, so maybe that’s what is making it feel familiar?
If you’re pre-ordering physically, I wouldn’t recommend GameStop. I preordered TotK there and their order status is awful. to this day it still says something like “processing” even though I’ve received and beaten the game. And if they have a pre order bonus, it’s not worth it anyway. as my GameStop started giving away the pre-order bonus before the games release :/
@Kang81 what do you mean? This artstyle is a really unique and fresh one and is nothing like the past 4 2D marios. sure it’s not pixel art but it’s still great, it’s like N64 promotional material!
It looks weird for sure, but that’s normal. new things almost always look weird, but give it a week or two and you’ll get used likely to get used to it. The only gripes I personally have with the artstyle is small mario looks like a squashed normal mario instead of a fine-tuned small mario and peach/daisy look a bit too small
I’m pretty excited for this! I have a feeling that this will be some sort of game that’ll give us depth to her character, aka an origin of some sorts.
iirc in the mario movie, Baby Peach has some sort of star-themed outfit or something, and the “particular spot” where peach stands on in the trailer, it’s shaped like a star/starbit
Also, does anybody else hear EARTH being emphasized in “What on earth is this?” in the trailer, or am I just hearing things? Hopefully we’ll find out more at a theoretical September direct!
Personally, I thinks it’s a very exciting evolution of the 2D Mario franchise. The wonder gimmick seems to be some “1 shocking twist per level” just like what Sonic Superstars is striving to do too, It’ll be interesting to see which game pulls it off better. The artstyle too, it reminds me of N64 promotional material, it looks so charming! I think this will be a breath of fresh air, the themes are a lot more dynamic (I think that’s the right term) since it seems every level has its own background, there are atleast 10 playable characters from what I’ve analyzed, this seems like it’s gonna be all-around a good time.

Funky Kong all-the-way and forever.
My nostalgia levels are through the roof.

Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
That’s all I need to say.
Re: Unity To Charge Developers A Fee Each Time A Game Is Installed Next Year
Reject unity, Embrace godot!
We game developers need to make unity lose its monopoly.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 9th)
I’ve been playing Celeste, Dreams (PS4), Minecraft Java, NSMBU and Smash recently

Re: My Nintendo Store Adds Super Mario Shopping Bag (US)
@Sequel Damn, that’s unfortunate. I think the bag is supposed to be used for smaller things, probably holds like 10lb maximum
Re: My Nintendo Store Adds Super Mario Shopping Bag (US)
I got the Splatoon bag, I don’t think I need this but it looks cool!
Re: Talking Point: Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom DLC - What Would You Have Liked To See?
A Story DLC about the other 3 dragons and how they decided to swallow their tears would’ve been neat
Re: Feature: Nintendo eShop Selects - August 2023
There’s a game that released in august called Punch-A-Bunch, it’s a neat game!

Re: Video: Here's 20 Minutes Of Super Mario Bros. Wonder Gameplay From Nintendo Treehouse
This may end up overthrowing NSMB2/NSMBWII as my favorite 2D mario.
And on a side note, I cannot wait for the eventual SMM3 so we can get the wonder theme!
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct - All Announcements, Features, Power-Ups, Worlds
@theModestMouse according to rumors, this game is supposed to be as hard as 3
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Direct - All Announcements, Features, Power-Ups, Worlds
I WONDER if we’ll see nabbit being a thief like in NSMBU 🤔
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Showcases Trio Of Brand New Power-Ups
The drill power-up returning was quite a shock, can’t wait to see how it feels to play!
but now that we know what Elephant Peach looks like, deviantart is gonna go crazy 😭😭😭

Re: Poll: Mario & Sonic Face Off On Switch This October - Whose Corner Are You In?
Quite hilarious how only 5% of people want to play sonic superstars over SMBW
Re: Super Mario Bros. Wonder Nintendo Direct Announced For August 31st
Mentally preparing myself to see the chaos that ensues after we see the elephant peach render
Re: Best Nintendo Switch Soulslikes - Games To Play If You Like Dark Souls

Re: Best Nintendo Switch Graphics - The Most Beautiful Switch Games
Metroid Dread, Celeste, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Re: Nintendo Switch System Update 16.1.0 Is Now Live, Here Are The Full Patch Notes
@TheBigK you can actually change the keyboard language to a different alphabet with similar letters to English and get around this iirc
Re: Charles Martinet Will No Longer Be The Voice Of Mario
@CharlieGirl Nah, AI is not that advanced as the voice cloning still sounds robotic, i think a new voice actor is the most obvious choice.

Vancouver Velocity for sure, the music is a bop and I can’t wait to play it for the first time!
Re: Minecraft's Switch Version Earns More Revenue Than Xbox And PlayStation
If it’s the most popular on the switch, then they should really be focusing some level of effort and making the switch version stable
It doesn’t really feel good to play right now, it just lacks the sturdiness of other versions
Re: Shuntaro Furukawa: Switch Successor Will Utilise The 'Nintendo Account' System
This better have backwards compatibility, at the very least for digital purchases, preferably for both digital and physical
When the new switch comes, I wanna continue 100%’ing Celeste and (trying to) 100% TotK without having to play it on the previous generation system

A full-on remake with remade music. new graphics, etc deserves to be full-price alongside new releases.
