@RupeeClock I appreciate sandbox but I need to see more purpose. Like if you made something that enabled you to get a heart piece or stamina piece or a Korok for a weapon slot. Making things just to help a little is not that great, it needs more purpose for me.
There is still just too much unknown for me to dive in day one at the moment. Hoping for a bit more information first. So far there definitely doesn’t seem to be 6.5 years worth of development there for sure.
@aaronsullivan Ok away from the main story we had Shrines and Korok to collect and seek out for a purpose. Heart and stamina and weapon slots. So massive exploration with good reason rather than going from point A to B. Do we have this in BOTW2? So far no information on that, just building things and fusing things.
It’s ok having to make things if it has a real purpose. But if I can swim across or beat an enemy with a normal weapon, why bother to construct or fuse items. It’s doing it just because you can. A bit slow and boring really with no big purpose overall.
@PinderSchloss A massive Nintendo and Zelda fan but I have to agree with you, so far totally underwhelming with no reasons given, like shrines etc to explore the world. Might as well play Lego and Minecraft combined in some weird way.
I loved BOTW but at the moment I’m not sure on this. They need tell me a bit more some of the details, like are there shrines what’s my purpose for exploring etc. At the moment there was some cool features but it is almost a weird Lego game construction set and construction playground. I’m not sold on this game at all now.
You can’t beat MK8D online so simple 1000 points of you go get more. Simple connection simple rules and easy to pick up and play. And MK8D drifting is top notch, all the MK wanna be games I’ve played never get the MK drifting right.
BOTW was my favourite Zelda in the end and after completing all shrines and dlc. My concerns are the shrines gave me very good reason to explore the land and of course gave us hearts and stamina as a reward. It worked perfectly for me.
If there are no shrines of short with good rewards or maybe also korok then my reason for full exploration and discovery of the world will have no point. Yes of course I could still roam around but with no real reason like the shrines and reward what’s the point.
Not that I care as always enjoying MK8 and MP remake. But it does show as I’ve said on here for the last two years. Nintendo in house AAA studios have been to quiet and not up to scratch and probably working on Switch 2 games for release mainly over probably the last three years at least and also their overall studios have nowhere near the numbers of say Sony or Activision etc.
Not sure why everyone goes on about 4K. If you look at the most graphical console games like HFW they don’t hit true native 4K on PS4 or even PS5. It’s the level of detail and wizardry that makes that game look stunning overall. Yes you need to hit a good 1080p, but 4K is not always needed.
Take say Mario Odyssey 2 on Switch 2. 1080p or 1440p with triple the level of detail, textures and amount on screen would look amazing.
@UltimateOtaku91 They have their thing now so switch 2,3,4 etc. what will be interesting is backward compatibility day one out the box. Also games like MK8 deluxe which I play a lot. Do we need another MK or just keeping adding more tracks etc as with dlc now. I seem happy with that as I can’t see another MK improving much anyway.
Easy worth £59.99 to me UK price digital. Physical can be picked up for £49.85 best price so far. Or £42 if purchased through e shop using the £84 for 2 game vouchers.
What is all the whining and winging for. Go live in a poor and terrible third world country or war torn country, then think.
So dying for a new Mario switch platform game Over 6 years and just one new one the amazing Mario Odyssey. I don’t like the remaster world much, but I would take super Mario Galaxy 2 remake right now for Switch over nothing at all.
Really hoping for a surprise for Nintendos big end of year game and it’s a new Mario platform game.
@JohnnyMind Yes I did enjoy Bowsers fury small but sweet little game add on. Maybe will we get a surprise, but with the Mario movie coming out and over 120 million Switches sold they could have the biggest selling Mario platform game ever made. The other option is they are using in house development for Switch 2 games, but who knows this is Nintendo we are chatting about 😂
@TheBigBlue Being fair we have only had one true new 3d Mario platform game this whole Switch generation, which was amazing. Also no new DK platform game either just lots of remakes from the Wii U. Now as I owned a WII U so this Switch generation has been low on these new in house AAA platform games. Which Nintendo are renowned for and the games greatness. It’s is a poor show really on Nintendos behalf.
@LikelySatan I know what you mean and the Switch does end up being my most played console. I just feel we could have had more from Nintendo in house studios AAA wise. we might get a nice surprise for the end of this year with a new AAA Mario or DK platform game.
I have had a switch since day one and the voting proves to me what I have said all along this swtich generation. Take out the 3rd and more importantly 2nd party studio games and the remakes etc. And Nintendo in-house AAA games have been few and far between and they should have stepped up more.
The vote so far goes to show that 2017 was the best year and Nintendo have not really lived up to that year since. However they could do it in 2023 MP Remastered Kirby BOTW 2 Pikmin 4 Now release a new 3d Mario or DK platform game for end of 2023 and then 2023 wins for me.
If we having chance of a new Mario platform game it will probably be towards end of this year. Probably when the movie goes onto blu ray and streaming services and sky cinema etc. Also maybe because the end of this year looks a bit sparse as well. Though DK could do with a new platform outing as well. We not had one NEW DK game on the Switch platform wise.
Six years is more than enough time. Now got on with it please. You have not done well on Switch for new Mario platform games or DK. Definitely slacking in that department for me.
Mario red and blue for me. But would not buy it as taking into account all the special editions. The best for me is the white and black OLED model, which I have.
I’m enjoying splatoon 3 but I think outside of Japan the game is not that massive. Mario of course with platform and Mario Kart is seriously massive. Not sure what is next maybe Zelda. Also about time DK had some gaming love Nintendo.
Just about right and nice to see a movie about 1 hour and 32 minutes. Getting fed up with these 2 and half to 3 hour movies. Now where’s my 3d Mario game 😂😂😂
Never played it on the Wii. Also there seems to be a lot added to the game compared to the Wii version. So that’s suits having never played it before. I get like the best full extra version. Also at UK £42.99 best price about physical, seems a good price for nowadays.
@neonpizza I get over a lot of things with my Switched dock. Using and LG C2 65” TV and have fine tuned settings on the TV for Switch. Resolution enhancements, motion settings etc. It does make a lot of difference, and of course doesn’t bring the Switch up to date but it improves and helps things a lot.
@Banjo- You are not to wrong there about the Switch in some way. If we also get Metroid prime 4 and another 3d Mario or DK platform game, that would definitely help.
Wow can’t believe the Wii is so low down. So enjoyed that console and the first party titles. Come on, SMG 1 & 2 within 3 years of each other, alone deserves massive kudos. Metroid 1,2 & 3 Zelda TP and SS Mario kart The list goes on. Crazy on here 😂😂😂
Playing docked on 65” LG C2. TV picture settings fine tuned for Switch. The game looks impressive for a Switch title and very smooth and not much blur. It’s a pleasure to play and a stand out title for the console. I will be honest my TV and settings does help with overall picture quality and smoothness. But it’s still a great looking game.
Of course there is special edition TOTK which OLED coming out. It’s their biggest game since the launch of the switch in some ways. It’s and easy sell.

Any one remember the N64 with Mario 64 UK advert, that end “Don’t by a Turkey this Christmas”
This was due to the N64 coming out after Christmas in the UK and basically Nintendo saying don’t buy a PS1 at Christmas wait next year for the N64.

Also Kirby demo.

Re: Retro Studios Wasn't The Only Dev Working On Metroid Prime Remastered
I think Metroid Prime 4 still might make a switch appearance, depends when switch 2 is released.
I can’t see Metroid Prime 4 being a new console system seller. Therefore it would shift more sales on the Switch with 120 million plus user base.
