Ideally for me no need to fill the gap with a Zelda game, wait for BOTW2 in the spring. What I would like is a new AAA Mario or DK platform game for end of this year. I maybe wrong but apart from Mario Odyssey and the Bowser fury add on, that has been it for brand new AAA platform from Nintendo in house studios. Which is not great really after over five years.
@Bizzyb I would love a Switch 2 with some more power But don’t expect in my opinion Series X power.
I know what you mean the good old Switch is starting to buckle and look at bit old now in visuals and performance. The internet is talking Unreal Engine 5, graphics this and that and the Switch is looking even more weaker.
Also the Switch will start to become third party multiplat title irrelevant as well, sort of already is a bit.
@marandahir Picking up on your, some wanting a powerful Switch 2 like the PS5 etc. No good to Nintendo what so ever, they have not the amount of developers, experience to deliver games say of FH5 or HFW pure level and detail, texture quality and graphical scope in 4K with HDR etc etc.
Nintendo as they are now would never get the game out to the public, it would take them about ten years to create a Zelda the graphical greatness of HFW.
If there really was a true Switch 2 coming March 2023 they would need to start announcing, showing and building the hype soon. Else it would end up a soft launch in March 2023 and that’s no good.
If it was a Switch Pro, then maybe they could leave announcing until nearer March 2023 as that would be more of a soft launch compared to a true Switch 2.
@BTB20 I think Nintendo release schedule could be better that’s all. But then so could Sony and definitely Xbox. No fan wars here please. I’m a dedicated Nintendo man, and will have the Switch 2 day one.
And before anyone has a pop at me. It’s just pure facts. Had a Switch since day one and have upgraded to Switch OLED and Have family online membership and big Nintendo fan.
Also Xbox outsold Switch in the USA last week. Which is more news than this winning Europe in March. Nintendo have been mid carding the Switch on games for to long now. Maybe it’s starting to show just slightly.
I will go Wii / Ds currently. The Switch doesn’t take it for now. Needs a few more big AAA in house games. If we get BOTW2 and AAA Mario or DK 3d platformer then the Switch might edge it. Time will tell.
In the UK I would say relating to Nintendo. Words like Mario and Mario Kart and Zelda seem used more than Nintendo. Also Switch is another. We are coming round to play Switch We are coming round to play Mario Kart Anyway, Nintendo Nintendo Nintendo.
@Would_you_kindly True maybe just the Xbox studio games, that’s lots of studios if all purchases go through ok. Think it would be good to have that type of gamepass on Switch. If you want it you pay if you don’t you don’t pay. Switch only gamers win all round, a gamepass xbox studios if you want it. No gamer could argue that one, variety and options.
Can’t see the harm if Xbox game pass was available on Nintendo Switch through cloud of course. You either pay the subscription and play or don’t and don’t play. Surely more options for gamers and their relevant console of choice the better it is.
Let’s be honest it’s about time Nintendo gave us a new AAA platform game be it Mario Odyssey 2 or 2d Mario or Donkey King. 5 years this October 2022 since Mario Odyssey and we have had nothing new AAA since, not including re-releases, ok a 5 hour Bowers Fury, which was good in its own way. What happened to the statement, having one console hybrid instead of two separate consoles home and handheld will enable Nintendo to produce more first party big games. I think that has fallen by the way side Nintendo.
What was the I think Yoshi course with the massive waterfall on your left as you drove by. I think it was on the 3ds maybe? Liked that track hope it comes to MK8D.
@sixrings True that why I mentioned the higher end your TV normally the better job it does. I run my Switch docked on the top end 4K 65”Samsung tv and the up scalping is very good from 1080p to 4K. Less so from 720p to 4K. But that makes sense due to the poorer 720p starting point.
Your 4K tv does this for you as it has to fill the screen with pixels. It has to upscale to suit the 4K screen and size. Now obviously the more higher end your tv the better job it does of this. Your tv does the same for 1080p blu ray discs and tv programmes etc.
@UsurperKing I get what you are saying But the bigger gaps in release was because there where big changes and also new hardware. Why I picked Galaxy 1 to 2 was because of same hardware and similar game design and assets. So Mario Odyssey 1 to 2 could be a similar reflection. Now Galaxy was 3 years, so I was thinking Odyssey being a bit more involved could be 5 years instead of Galaxy 3 years, so I allowed an additional 2 years, also it is same hardware both Switch. I think I have reasonable in my assessment.
@roboshort October 2017 Mario Odyssey released on Switch Will be 5 years this October 2022. Just for reference Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 have a 3 year gap from releasing. Come on Nintendo wake up.
We are badly needing a new Mario or DK 2d or 3d platform game from Nintendo in house AAA. It’s been like 5 years since Mario Odyssey. I’m not including ports and remasters. Bowers Fury was a nice little add on.
The delay seems longer than it is really. Let’s say they were about to release November 2022 then said sorry you have to wait until March 2023 I would not sound so bad a delay.
I don’t mind as long as we get another big AAA for near the end of year. I talking AAA in house, maybe. Mario Odyssey 2 or something a like. I mean I’m enjoying Kirby right now but it’s only March.
@Bret Just thought it might be something nice Nintendo could do to burden the BOTW delay.
Of course I would much rather prefer new AAA in house game maybe a Mario Odyssey 2 or DK platform game, but it all seems very go slow at Nintendo house at the moment.
I was just thinking the other day if they can’t give us new games then how about the 3 below all on one cartridge as remaster type release. Wind waker Super Mario Galaxy 2 Metroid Prime
@rjejr You have some extremely valid points there of which I can’t disagree. It’s like we haven’t had a new Mario or DK 2d or 3d platform game really since Mario odyssey 2017. I do wonder what their in house studios do all day as they take ages to make games on very low level hardware and only for one hardware.
They would never ever get a game out on a new generation device of the technical level of Forza Horizon 5 or Horizon Forbidden West and also on various console and pc hardware.
Their studios at NINTENDO in house must be tiny and have hardly anyone working there.
Had DD on my GameCube day one. Great game but prefer MK8 48 plus tracks now and online. More importantly are we going to get Super Mario Galaxy 2 port this year on Switch. It needs to happen, we have a lack of new 3D Mario platform or DK game and that would be the easy and cheap thing to do for this year 2022.
Online this, gamepass that. I had a group round last night. Local multiplayer MK8 you can’t beat that, all together competing and having a good fun and some food. PS, I didn’t play well 😂👻 When I want to play MK8 online I just start it up always gamers online and race online, it’s so simple what’s all the issues and fuss about.
Game pass or no game pass all that matters to me is new top quality games and some big AAA games that appeal to me. If Sony and Nintendo business model deliveries those games the way it does like now then that is great. As for Xbox they are not delivering nothing AAA and new this year or maybe just Starfield November, so gamepass is pointless to me and so is Xbox.
Games sell consoles that’s why Nintendo are top of the tree and Sony there as well. My local stores in the UK now all have Series X sitting on shelves and easily available to buy meaning the momentum of Xbox has now slowed, meaning Gamepass is not really selling consoles as it has no new exclusive AAA games and no buzz about it. Microsoft think gaming is about old games, making an appearance in June and having one big AAA in November 2022 and not managing their studios well. Which is why they will always struggle and sit in third place.
Have to agree with the number one spot The only Kirby game that has kept my attention and playing and looking forward to carrying on when I stop playing. Cleared the first area nearly 100% just 2 time trials to beat the target time. Then off to the next area. Great game, just misses the Mario 3d World and Bowsers Fury top spot but very good.
Well I preordered Kirby digital from Nintendo UK so loaded and ready to go tomorrow. Got 2 gifts with it as well. I did wait for the reviews just in case. But if we are talking BOTW2 or a Mario Odyssey 2 Then preorder straight away no reviews.
They should have the groups/folders on the front screen when the console turns on. What a stupid idea not have that happen. Some GUI designers have no dam sense.

March 2022 UK.
In the UK Xbox was first
Switch second
PS5 Third
Don’t get me wrong amazing console sales and games. Just needs some new big AAA from in house
To give it a push up or two.
