I've never actually considered getting a Mario Party game until this one, when I saw the Bowser Party mode. Seeing that there are only a few games and it's really just Bowser trying to catch up and knock you out the whole time rather than actually competing, my interest is gone once again.
I doubt we'll get a Majora's Mask sequel, but it would be really awesome. Playing it again for the first time in years makes me realize how many mechanics (mostly in the form of masks) just didn't get used to their fullest. I'd like to see a game that uses basically the whole existing set--even if you've got to re-collect them or something--in new ways, and with many of them used for more than a single piece of heart.
Wasn't sure about it, bought it anyway. Only sat down with it once so far, put off by confusing map progression and a constant feeling that I was leaving a bunch of stuff behind. Nice to see that not only was the level-editor cancelled, but the creator himself admits he wasn't even making a game that interested him. Makes me feel real good about taking leaps of faith and supporting the little guys.
I'm pretty excited to play this. I loved Super Metroid, and Fusion was sort of fun but way too linear (and extremely hard!!!) So this looks right up my alley. I've always wanted to play the original, but I'm never very good at playing NES games, so I think this is a perfect way to experience it. That length is a bit of a bummer though.
Nice, take a super sought-after item and bundle it with $300 of other stuff so people have to buy the whole thing if they want the system. One reason I don't support Gamestop.
I remember the manager at my Best Buy tried these exact obligatory bundle shenanigans when the DS came out and I'm pretty sure he got fired.
This game is still so playable that I'd rather see a Metroid 2 remake. I'm expecting one of the two to be announced soon, though. Well, more than anything I'd rather have a new 2D adventure on 3DS, but with what Nintendo's been saying recently I expect a remake.
$20 for Tipping Stars? It's like they wanted to experiment with cross-buy but some grumpy exec didn't want them to lose money, so they doubled the price of the game to make up for it.
Tempted to pick up Tengami for that price, but I've already got more games to play than I can count.
If they're discontinuing Club Nintendo, why are they releasing this exclusively on the service, thus encouraging people to sign up even though it's being shut down?
They made a smartphone game and put it on the 3DS. So the result will be a game that not only angers and alienates its intended audience, but will also fail to make money. It's a perfect failure on both fronts.
I'm in love with clay-style games, so I wish this was something I was interested in. But I felt like Canvas Curse was only kind of fun, and for this price and length it just doesn't seem like a good deal to me. I guess I can still watch videos on it though.
I was actually eager to try this until you said that you use a heart regardless of whether or not you lose the level. That kills the whole thing for me. I've had lots of fun with similar mobile games, and I actually like being limited because it prevents me from playing it for hours. This is just too far though.
As cool as it would be, I just can't justify spending that much money on a system that plays the same games mine already does. Those minor improvements aren't worth losing $100+. I'm happy for everyone that's super into it though.
This is literally all I want. Old games uprezzed to 1080p at 60fps. But Nintendo refuses to do that. Either we get a huge, expensive, time-consuming remastering, or we get the original--end of story.
Why does everyone downplay this stuff by saying "All they're doing is uprezzing it"? So many Nintendo games already look so amazing that this is all they need!
As much as I'd like to see some of these turned into shows, realistically I don't know if they would be successful. Star Fox is probably the closest thing to something kids these days would actually like.
So much incredible content--so many hours and hours of pure fun--for just $10. Finding old copies of just Metroid Prime 1 for $5 already baffled me. But this...my mind can't even handle this concept. They're some of the best games I've ever played, and some of the few I would still gladly pay full price for--EACH.
It's a little crummy not to be able to swim around super fast for the sake of fun, but increasing maneuverability will actually make things a lot easier. It could be pretty dang hard to control sometimes.
Thank god, I thought this was going to be for a Wii U announcement, but it sounds like they're just planning on supporting New Leaf. At least I hope that's the case. I really have no idea why people are asking for AC on the Wii U when the 3DS is the perfect platform for the series. I'm fully convinced that it never needs to come to another home console.
@midnafanboy What's funny about that? There are a lot of fully-featured and deep games out there for $10 or $15, and at first Splatoon looked like it could be one of them. Then revealing further features made it seem like a higher value.
This game really is shaping up nicely. When it was revealed it looked like a $10 eShop game, but they've fleshed it out enough that now it looks like a full retail title. And I love how different the style is from the usual Nintendo fair. I think this will attract the "older-young" audience, which is something Nintendo has needed desperately for a while. Nintendo has been too cutesy lately, and it's probably scaring away a lot of preteens and teens.
Crap, they've got a Twitter now? It was bad enough before; now there are going to be rumor and speculation articles/threads blazing around the internet every single day!
It looks pretty cool, though unfortunately I could never justify spending the extra money on it, especially since I could probably only get half its cost for my current 3DS. At least the XL being the only available model makes it an easier decision for me; I hate that thing.
A game using the smartphone model...but not on a smartphone. Kids aren't the ones who buy extra hearts to play longer. This just isn't going to work.
I'm not one of the people who will go on about how Nintendo should make games for mobile, but if they're going to take the time to develop them anyway they might as well put them on the platform they'll actually matter on.
"Instead of tight, tried-and-true gameplay, how about completely touch screen controls? Instead of gorgeous 2D graphics, how about horrible 3D ones? Instead of a totally new concept and iteration of Hyrule, how about re-using an old one?"
The Oracle games and then Minish cap all set the standard for 2D Zeldas in my mind, and Nintendo has since yet lived up to it. LBW was getting there, but still can't hold a candle to Minish Cap. Fingers crossed for another Zelda like this one someday.
I'm honestly surprised it's taken so long. I remember it being quite a long time ago that I started to wonder when this would surface again. The technology has caught up to the idea.
When the most anticipated game is an old game you know you're not off to a great start. Anything can be announced and released between now and the end of the year however, so I'll keep my fingers crossed!
Also, people complaining about how long it took to make, you literally just saw the thing built from the ground up. I've waited longer for already-revealed nearly-finished games to be released than we've waited for this one to be made in its entirety.
Doesn't look terrible visually though I'll bet a lot of people backed it thinking it would be rendered in gorgeous 2D like in the concept art. I wasn't aware they intended to do it this way.
I'm still hoping for a game that sells so much it makes Capcom see how stupid they are.
The simple fact that he knows ANYTHING about what the programmers are doing is amazing. You'd be hard pressed to find upper-up execs from other companies that actually know about programming and game design versus just business.
@Turnip-Forest I know that nothing can ever replace a real vocal coach, but I think it could have applications beyond just warm-ups. It doesn't have to be the end-all teaching program. There's a lot of textbook-style info that could be taught, and being able to electronically monitor your pitch is pretty cool.
The vocal practice thing is pretty cool. Makes you wonder why there aren't any games centered around teaching/developing voice. It could be an extremely powerful tool.
Made 25 bucks when all was said and done. Not bad. When combined with discounted eShop cards it definitely swayed me to pick up a few games digitally.
They should have advertised this more. It was a major selling point, so at least near the end they should have been telling everyone how this was at least one reason not to wait on buying a Wii U.
Sun of a GUN! I've been sitting on a bunch of coins for ages now, and when they offered that poster set I went for it, thinking that I might as well spend them on SOMETHING even if I don't care that much for it. Then they give us this awesome shirt!

Re: Gone Home Console Versions Are "Not Actively in Development Any Longer"
I can't see it fitting well on consoles anyway--at least not Wii U. It's really more of an interactive story than anything, and that's pretty niche.
