I enjoyed watching a few shows on it, I guess because they were just kind of there. Dinosaur Office always looked pretty great in 3D. All of the content's on Youtube though, so it's not like I'm going to miss it. It's was a pretty dumb little novelty in this day and age, truth be told. Kids already know how to watch videos online.
I like that they're trying something new, but there's no way I'm buying new controllers for basically the same experience. If they're going to bring it back, why are they shooting themselves in the foot like this? People who already have the instruments are their install base, and they're throwing that away.
Darn, I was hoping for something to push me over the edge. But as it stands I've already got the ones I'm interested in on Steam, and can't justify paying ten bucks to be able to play them on my Nintendo systems. Well, maybe next time!
@Grafeaux So you're saying that a review score has nothing to do with personal opinion and should adhere to an overall consensus established by the general gaming public? How interesting.
I was going to buy it this morning...but I just hurt my finger and now have my whole hand in a brace for at least ten days. Tell me that's not a cruel fate.
Call me a jerk, but this trend of naming everything like Flappy Bird makes me want to ignore a game no matter how good it is. It's like, get an original idea and stop trying to capitalize on an already-popular game.
Almost no one has a Wii U compared to the other systems. There are a lot of reasons to hate Capcom, but if this is one of them for you, you know nothing about the business beyond your own personal allegiances.
@Peach64 I am completely with you there. I've always felt like Nintendo could use Star Fox to incredible effect and just doesn't know how. It could be a huge character-driven action-packed space epic. But I'm expecting pretty much just a slightly updated iteration of 64 with the new one.
Dang it, I want Puzzle and Dragons so bad but I just CAN'T spend that much on a screw-around-here-and-there puzzle game. Hopefully it goes down or goes on sale sometime.
I don't want to pop balloons. I want 4-on-4 system link. Remember how you could link two Xboxes up to each other and do that, two generations ago? Yeah, I do.
The gamepad is NOT required. Use a second stick instead of gyro aiming--one aspect of the gamepad fixed. When you die, it brings up a map menu where you can choose where to jump--done. Now we can have local multiplayer. Thanks Nintendo, please make it happen now.
Announce a proper Paper Mario 3 and an epic, AAA Metroid game and this gen will be redeemed for me. I'm not holding my breath for either though. And I'm certainly not trusting any dates or windows they give.
@faint Considering how large the market is and how hungry these people are for games, I still don't see how that's not something to jump on. Sure it's complicated, but that doesn't mean it's not worth pursuing with speed.
One of the biggest markets in the world can now buy games. The government is still concerned about appropriate content. Nintendo's content has always been as "appropriate" as you can get. I have absolutely no idea why they're not just bombarding the country with Wii U's, NOW.
@FragRed But it's one thing to say "We're working on our next console because we're ALWAYS working on our next console," and another to say, "It's codenamed the NX and we're revealing it in only a year." Now people who were on the fence are just going to wait because it seems much more real and a lot closer.
Every time Iwata uses NX in a sentence, the Wii U loses another million sales. Giving us a set reveal time for next year is a complete death sentence. Even if you're going to make a new system that quickly you can't tell everyone about it so early.
As a "color impaired" individual, I really wish more games did this. I've straight up had to pass on games because I couldn't tell the colors apart well enough to play well. Zuma's Revenge was one I was particularly bummed to pass over.
I played the demo over and over and over again. I really enjoy the gameplay and would love to have this game...but I just can't justify the price. And I don't buy the "but it's like getting two whole games" argument. It's like getting an otherwise free game and a lazy clone. I would put down $15 in a heartbeat, but even if it's the best match three game in the world, a match three game ain't worth $30.
I can understand a limited demo, but...seriously? I'll get an hour? How about a couple hours once or twice a week leading up to launch or something? Or a demo with bots and only one weapon that I can play whenever?
Dang. I was really hoping "free to start" meant purchasing permanent content in little packs. Even if it's well-priced, I absolutely refuse to spend any amount of money on something that gets used up. So yet again, it's a game I'll play and never give a single cent to Nintendo for. I want to support the game, but I can't support the model. Frustrating.
I'm staying in a hotel for a few weeks, and I've been getting these international hits like CRAZY, and had no idea why until just now! I'm getting puzzle pieces and achievements like crazy!
I try not to be so negative, but this comment section is just filled with immense amounts of stupid. This sort of subject always brings it to the surface, I guess. People love to vilify and dehumanize without knowing any real details.
I remember trying this out and being really underwhelmed.
Man, and this was a full retail title. I complain about game content/prices now, but the early days of DS were just filled with $30 games that offered about an hour of entertainment.
@BLPs I agree that there are tons of control problems. I don't understand how people can still think this game is so perfect but Ocarina of Time didn't age as well. I think it's the exact opposite. I play Super Mario 64 largely for nostalgia, and I still really like it, but I feel like it's showing its age.
I remember being floored by the graphics when this came out. McDonald's had free wifi at the time, so I got dropped off there once so I could play online, and I was all, "I'm going to come here and play all the time!" and then I saw that every single game was just me and seven other players snaking past me. Every last one. So I stopped trying.
Also, BRING BACK CHALLENGE MODE! It's the reason this was the last Mario Kart I've ever felt was worth buying.
@Quorthon It's happened before, but I just don't see it happening this time. They've already been developing it for so long and the next system is (from my perspective) still so far out. Since they announced that they were working on Twilight Princess in 2003, inevitably releasing so close to the Wii made the cross-gen jump a given.
I gave up on the Wii U long before the delay. This is just one more in a long line of blows. For the record though, I absolutely don't believe this has anything to do with putting it on the NX. That idea is completely absurd to me, and so is the idea that the NX will come out any time soon. End of 2017 at the earliest, and there's no way they would delay Zelda for two years just for that.
@Caryslan I did enjoy LBW overall, though I also don't understand all the love it gets. Being based on a pre-existing world made it bland and boring, it was way too easy, and as you said, the item rental thing sort of defeated a lot of the purpose. Progression is one of the things I love most in Zelda. It was mildly fun, but not the second coming of 2D Zelda a lot of people make it out to be.
I would be in the "better to get it right than to get it fast" camp if Skyward Sword wasn't a disappointment a half-decade in the making. Until I play it and see that it's the best Zelda game ever I'm going to be staring at my empty Wii U and thinking about how crappy this generation has been so far.
I think I might be the only person who answered: "After the Wii U, I'm not sure I'll be supporting Nintendo's domestic systems from this point forward." XD
Man, they spent a single year on that game and it's one of the best Zeldas there is. Why can't they give us another game using the same engine? Why did it take three times as long just to give us an upgraded version of this one?
I feel like Nintendo spends too much time reinventing the wheel on nearly every console iteration as far as graphics and engine go. I have complete confidence that they could release Zeldas twice as fast if not faster if they would just use the same style a couple times in a row and focus on giving us a new story and dungeons, as they did with MM.

@Kirby_Fan_DL3 I hear you. I don't like how everything is being simplified either, and I'm also not so into a lot of Wii U games.
