We don't take it for granted that nearly 100,000 people visit Nintendo Life every day, yet you probably know a lot more about us than we know about you. Therefore our partners at Gamer Network have put together a readership survey so we can get to know our audience a little better.
Nintendo Life is partners of Gamer Network - a network of leading video game websites and YouTube channels such as Eurogamer, VG247 and Outside Xbox - who are also responsible for handling our advertising.
The responses given to the survey will directly influence the site, and network's, direction. We would really appreciate it if you have a few spare moments.
Any information you submit is anonymous and used to help us build a picture of who we're talking to. This helps both the editorial team here at Nintendo Life make the site the best it can be, and it helps our friends in the ads team do their jobs, which helps us pay the bills (importantly). As well as telling us a bit about yourself, they've asked for some feedback on the games media in general, such as how you feel about reviews, video, and website subscriptions.
With the demise of Club Nintendo this year, we would be honoured if you transferred some of your survey completing patience credits to helping us out in this survey; it should only take a few minutes for experienced survey hunters such as yourselves.
Are you up for the challenge?

I've never missed a NL survey for the whole time I've been on the site, and I'm not missing this one
Doin' it.
Ok I think Its high time a lot of people understand Platform genres.
There is a HUGE difference between a platform game and an action-adventure game. Platform games rely on platforms to make progress whereas action-adventure games don't. Please fix this issue in future surveys because platform IS and always WILL be a different genre.
Meh. The thing froze on me on the 2nd page. Not doing all that again. -_-'
I filled it out. I'm not sure why you guys needed to know the times of day when I'm most vulnerable and a list of my fears, but whatever.
Oh and I already filled the survey.
Done. A pretty long survey by comparison, but at least it doesn't have CN's load times.
Done, lots of Nos in there.
No question oot: do youuse the nintendo network? I put it under other.
@Quorthon Did we take the same survey? I wasn't asked those questions at all.
Done. Wow, these guys ask a lot of questions.
Wow. Would you consider paying a mandatory subscription fee to read your favourite gaming site?
A bit long of a survey but there you go! Hope it helps.
Done. Hope it is useful for you, because I doubt it is useful for me
My brother has that ? Block lamp. I have the Triforce one!
Done!
I don't get it, for when you select which platforms you play, they have PS3 and PS4 and Xbox One and Xbox 360 but they only have Wii and not Wii U?
@ikki5
Probably because the Wii isn't officially still supported anymore; almost nothing (if anything) is still being released for Wii whereas PS3 and 360 are still seeing new releases alongside PS4 and Xbone. Just a guess, but it would make sense.
@Quorthon
Yeah, not to mention your address, and social security number.... Meh, its probably no big deal.
@ElkinFencer10
I guess you have a point.
The Club Nintendo joke at the end of the article is VERY misplaced, I'm sure I'm not the only one that with the closing of Club Nintendo had to fullfill a ton of surveys recently XD
(Anyway survey done )
I did the survey and now I feel I deserve a cookie~
@Artwark thanks for the feedback, but we didn't write this one
I just got done answering everything.
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to complete the survey... I know they can be a pain to complete. We really appreciate you taking the time!
COOKIES FOR EVERYONE!
Done
Why did you want to know what I was wearing? Doesn't really seem gaming related...
Done!
Done, quite long....
Done
Already filled it out from Pushsquare, Survey Monkey site won't let me fill it out again.
Anybody think having retail prices start at $45 was a swipe at the 3DS? Not to mention Captain Toad and Kirby both retailing for $40. Just seemed odd rigth after a question about ocnsole ownership including 3DS and 2DS.
There were some other odd questions but that one seemed the most glaring. They should have set the lower price limit at $30, there aren't too many indie or DL only games priced that high.
@Shworange that was just for personal interest...
Done it.
Done it too !
@Artwark I agree!
Maybe not for the exact reasons, but dang, why is Platformer not an option? I don't like a lot of Action/Adventure games, but I nearly like all Platformers (good ones anyway)
@Artwark That bugged me as well.
And I always die inside a little whenever I see that the very first genre listed in such a survey is "first person shooter".
I don't know why it asked me what hours of the day nobody is at my home, but I answered anyway because I love this site so much.
The survey was maybe 20 seconds longer than a regular Club Nintendo survey.
Froze on page 2, sorry not doing it again
Did the survey. I wonder if there is going to be a membership fee here? I would probably pay it. Nintendolife to me is like a realtime Nintendo Power. I do miss getting Nintendo Power but so thankful that There is a place like Nintendo life to come too and enjoy.
@Artwark: "Platform games rely on platforms to make progress whereas action-adventure games don't."
Who says? There are many action adventure platformers, Jak & Daxter for instance. Loads of platforms, loads of action and adventuring.
@Klimbatize Me too man. I look at this site like a realtime Nintendo Power. So glad its here
Done =) I hope that Nintendo Life don't get subscription fees because I love this website but don't have the money =( Gaming is already expensive enough without having to pay for information and reviews.
That one question about the mandatory membership fee is seriously scaring me. I can't afford to dish out any more of my money right now...
I expected it to have more to do with Nintendo Life. No...actually I guess I expected it to have ANYTHING to do with Nintendo Life.
I was sad that I wasn't able to say how I felt about Rock Paper Shotgun for their recent display of unprofessionalism.
Done (did it for but pushsquare and nintedolife but ticked the box for pushsquare, I hope that didn't matter, if so I might do it a second time.)
I'm surprised Gonintendo wasn't in the survey. Are they not a reputable site?
Hilarious because I've been reading this site regularly since 2008 (when it was named vc.reviews) and have just now joined. Weird that I can now talk to all the users with comments that I see at the bottom of these articles everyday.
Done
I didn't reveal my annual income though!
Done~
Finished it up - interesting questions.
I took the survey! Hope it helps out!
Done. Oh Club Nintendo how we will miss your surveys. But yeah, I would consider spending up to $3 for a site subscription to NintendoLife though I'm not sure if myself and others would beat out what ad support dollars this site already gets. I used to search Google News for Nintendo gaming articles before I was referred to this site by a commenter on the Motley Fool. Motley Fool man, that is one site that goes for sensational over the top "journalism". I'm not sure they can even call it that because most of the pieces seem more like opinion journalism.
Seeing as Nintendo Life is my go-to site I suppose taking a survey isn't much to ask for the quality stuff that gets put on here.
I'd pay for more or better content even if that doesn't really eliminate ads (as long as they are non-obtrusive, I'll live) or for a more dynamic, multi layered community and communications with readers and writers.
So, yeah, there's that. Also, that survey wasn't 1080p60fps so only 5 stars.
Aaaaaand done.
I'm feeling very stereotypical, filling this out.
Done
I had to guess for a lot of the questions, or just put in arbitrary numbers. I tend to be a binge gamer, (will play excessively for one week, then won't play at all or rarely for two weeks). So trying to answer questions like "how many hours do you play a week?" is nearly impossible.
By answering the survey, I just realised I've been on NL since late 2009... dear god...
@antdickens
NOMNOMNOM!!!
@Iggly I usually fly through most CN surveys. If I have nothing of of import to say I just keep the answers short and sweet:
@MasterWario if it makes you feel any better, the fighting genre wasn't represented and to be fair, there was an other option that asked you to specify.
NLife could come up with statistics of most of these data... Would be fun to know what's the profile of these gamers, although I'm quite sure if you asked only NLife readers, the profile would be a bit different than, say, Pushsquare readers. =)
I took the survey, but man... subscription stuff scares me a little. I agree with you, @TeeJay.
Just finished the survey. How many coins did I earn?
Took it. Wouldn't be interested in paying for subscription access. Gaming information is readily available (online), though the accuracy, journalism standards, & social interaction w/ other site members, varies from site, to site. For the record, NLife meets all those criteria excellently for me.
Yay, that's satisfied my survey addiction for this week.
@Klimbatize
Yeah, and they asked me for my credit card number, but I'm sure it was nothing.
done! wooooo <3 nintendo life
I took the survey, but there was no place to write "don't make SJW Outrage Click Bait Articles".
Just finished the survey! I hope you guys never do a subscription thing. Maybe something like "pay 3 bucks and have ads turn off every mouth" but not at right force you to pay.
All done! So, where do I collect my cookies?
I'd pay for a (optional) subscription fee if you guys would cut it out with stolen Kotaku articles.
I read NintendoLife, not Kotaku.
@TeeJay We didn't write the survey as I (think) Anthony said, so it's been written with a more multi-platform / broader network focus. When we ran our own NL-specific survey last year we listed a whole load of Ninty-focused sites
Dang, that was long. I finished it though.
@TeeJay
They don't feature these sites by how reputable they are, otherwise IGN and Gamespot wouldn't be there. 😝
I know the exact date I started visiting NintendoLife because it was the day that the giveaway sweepstakes of Groovin' Blocks was announced. I've been visiting the site several times a day ever since (4&1/2 years).
BTW, I love surveys...
Consider it done Nintendo Life, you guys get 100,000 hits a day that's really good. I like this site,lots.
That was pretty interesting. I like long surveys like this.
That was "fun."
Anything to help out Nintendo Life!
Ughh, survey monkey reminds of my job, since I fill surveys out near daily at it. I almost stopped when I saw it was them, but NL is awesome so I muddled through. The survey reminded me I should play some games, especially since I selected 25+ game on both questions, and no video game system has been booted up to actually play a game since last August.
I think they really just wanted the answer to 'Would you consider paying a mandatory subscription fee to read your favourite gaming site?' and I'd like to think the answer is 'No' for nearly everybody. Mandatory? Seriously? How about you pay me to keep visiting your site.
Mandatory subscription fee? Hahahaha, those GamerGate boycotts and advertisers pulling out must really be killing those other sites.
Done. I like surveys. And anything to help Nintendo Life.
Done diddily done. That question about paying a subscription fee was a little alarming, Cripes, I'd rather not have to look elsewhere for nintendo news.
Bit of a shame there wasn't a sound off box at the end as I would have liked to share my thoughts about why I dislike using the word game as a verb or adverb.
survey questions seem a bit stupid to me and im a survey taker on another website but yeah also seemed to be only targeted at those who live in the UK and im in the US but yeah 4 pages not bad
but who would even pay a fee for gaming news that is free basically on other websites? e.O
@Luigifan141
Uh oh.
I didn't know you folks were part of the same network as USGamer (EuroGamer). Such vastly different CMS... anyway, I took the survey already when prompted by USGamer. Keep up the great work!
I wasn't sure why it asked for the contents of my underwear drawer but if it will help improve the site...
