Re: UK Retail Survey Highlights the Challenges Facing Nintendo

Dave24

@CasuallyDressed "great" words of "wisdom" from a mod/some associated with the site. It shows what new low this site reaches.

Gee, I wonder why Nintendo is losing in UK. Constant delays for EU, idiotic marketing decisions, acting like they have no competition, archaic account system... Naaaah, that can't be it. In Europe, Nintendo is possibly the worst option, and yet the only thing that Nintendo with Iwata do is... complain. Great job.

Re: Video: The Top Ten Worst Designed Pokémon Ever

Dave24

Wow this list is so... bad. He takes the obvious ones, like gen V (which to me personally is a mixed bag - some of them are really awesome, others atrocious abominations) and at the same time complains like he started playing pokemon yesterday and tries to sound competent.

Like Tropius blows because he's not flying... Um... Hello? Is there any reason to actually even point it out? Or is there some hidden sense in Gyarados FLYING that I don't see? To me, Lugia looks atrociously bad with hands for wings. I personally can't stand it.

Exeggutor being bad, because he doesn't have anything to do with Exeggcute? Well, ok. So how do you explain fish turning into flying...non-fish/dragon I guess? Or what could you call basically water snake/eel turns into dragon? Or raccoon into... ferret? There are more, but I guess this one in particiular makes the less sense of them all for some reason.

Speaking of mega evolutions, the most idiotic one to me is Mega Slowbro. Don't get me wrong, I love Slowpoke and it's my favorite pokemon of all time (well, he and Seel and Dewgong), but mega slowbro, other than cute face on the artwork, doesn't make sense at all.

@Hitman1102 I agree.

Re: Review: Watch Dogs (Wii U)

Dave24

@mariovslink62 You know, AC3 worked like crap from the start pretty much everywhere.

Anyway, in my opinion the biggest problem of Watch Dogs is it's main feature and selling point - hacking. Most of the time it's just "press x button" or Bioshock hacking and that's it. Pretty stale and generic for a new IP that was forseen like second coming of Jesus for gaming. I still don't know why.

Re: Video: This Is What Watch Dogs Looks Like On Wii U

Dave24

@RudysaurusRex Are you from the future? Last I checked, it's a game from 2014, and, it is still 2014, unless I got warped into the future and I don't know it yet.
Ubisoft won't blame anyone, because they clearly stated long ago that Watch Dogs is their last (mature if I remember correctly) game for the U. It would sell bad even if they would release it on time in May, because there was nothing on other consoles.

Re: Feature: The Wii U is Two Years Old, But How's it Doing?

Dave24

A+ - best Nintendo games in years. I don't care about lack of 3rd party that much, because that's why I have other stations and boxes. It's great improvement over Wii.

People are not buying U, because there was no hype created around it, no marketing at all... now they started doing that, and the sales started slowly picking up. Hype is what makes the things going, look at PS4 - they created hype, payed people who needed to be payed, commercials, etc and they are happy. MS treated people like garbage (like Sony with PS3) and it backfired. Nintendo did nothing and just lived in their little world, hoping the name WiiU will drive the masses in, because Wii was a succes... But not for people who wanted to play the games or gamers per se.
Now they did it right, with GamePad being optional most of the time and having awesome pro controller. Problem is, it's too late.

Nintendo doesn't even need stronger machine than PS4 or PS5, they need to get with the times with technology. No BS calls to them to just change the system, just normal, simple account system that doesn't need THEM to do anything, unless it's something really important.
Also, COPY for save data. Not copy the whole game and save data.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Software Update and DLC Available Now

Dave24

@rferrari24 That's why I little hate online in this game - instead of "choose whatever the hell track you want from the list" it's limited to 3 chosen by the game and random... I played 6 matches in the row with no option to choose DLC tracks. On 7th round finally it appeared, only one... Wario Gold Mine.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Software Update and DLC Available Now

Dave24

@Finntendo Sometimes he makes triforce, so it's good. It always was "don't run with the swords/scissors", but they are DRIVING! So it must be safe

Random shortcut on Hyrule track sucks, but overall it's still pretty good and fun to play.

Least favorite:
Dragon Driftway (it's mediocre and the music is boooriiiing)
Wario Gold Mine (it sucks, probably one of the worst tracks in the whole game)
Rainbow Road (it's okay, but the "shortcut" near finish line blows)

Ice Ice Outpost is meh, but it's not as bad as others.
But Excitebike, Yoshi Circuit and Mute City are AWESOME! Still it is worth it's price.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Software Update and DLC Available Now

Dave24

Downloaded and man, Excitebike track is a lot of fun. Totally worth it.

@Tsurii897 I though I was the only one not liking Wario's Mine. Overall Wii tracks in MK8 suck.

@bouncer0304 try booting the game normally. For me it downloaded everything in game.

Re: Teaser Tweet Suggests Binding of Isaac on the 3DS

Dave24

Isaac action on the go? That would've been awesome. But all those shenanigans with the game earlier... I wonder if that's true at all. I mean, this game, in original form, barely worked even on powerhouse PCs and I actually wonder how could they even made the original work on the U.

After nearly 3 years there is a possibility of Isaac on the go - if it was two years ago, or even a year ago, I probably could be happiest person on the planet, but now... I'll probably stick to PC or PS4, after the price drops.

Re: Shovel Knight Now Available In Europe On The Wii U And 3DS eShops

Dave24

I don't care and I'm amazed that people still care. After delaying the game for 6 months they still have the balls to charge you the full price and give you nothing. I'm sorry for all those people who kickstarted it and got it now and didn't get anything for the long wait. 33% price cut for buying the same game - just wait for it to be on PS4, they won't charge you extra for PS3/Vita version. If they would give 50 or even 33% discount for first week or two, I would be all over it and buy it again, but now that's just pathetic.

Re: Region-Locking May Be a Thing of the Past Soon According to Nintendo

Dave24

I have no problem with WiiU being locked, because we are getting most of the games without much delay. 3DS on the other hand is pathetic with waiting 2 years for a game that is ready and yet after that much delay released with bug making the game unplayable is inexcusable. And it is a handheld, so you can get it everywhere.
So in short, Wii U without region lock - don't care, 3DS without it - absolutely yes

Re: Review: Mighty Final Fight (3DS eShop / NES)

Dave24

I've had it on cartrige back in the day. It was a cool game, but I remember it being hard as hell, and yet I was still coming back to it - that's a sign of a great game. Good memories.
Great it's released on eshop. I hope they will release it on U soon.

Re: Resident Evil Creator Shinji Mikami Is A Fan Of Strong Female Characters

Dave24

Oh, so this is news, because... um... Oh yeah, female protagonists is hot topic and, as we all know, there were no female characters in any game ever made, except objects like Laura Croft (as some high profile site renamed her) or plethora of 90s games and even nowadays... I just don't get it, it must be martyr thing.

Oh, and also "No The Evil Within for Wii U", that always sells. Best clickbait ever

Re: Atlus Discounts 3DS eShop Titles in North America

Dave24

@Starwolf_UK I should've been more clear about it I think, so my bad. I meant Atlus games, because that's what it is. Rarely they are on sale in EU and if they are, it's barely noticable.
Also, your math is pretty bad. 19,99 bucks in US vs 25 bucks EU price (that's the price in exchange euro to usd), so yeah, the price is higher. And with that sale and EU price I have a difference of 30% (if I had actually euro as currency, it would be 25%, so I get screwed little more). Delays from them are even more annoying, but I hope it will be better from now.
