Re: Review: Star Fox Zero (Wii U)

Dave24

@Action51 I won't get it, because 3 hours.

Also, called it metacritic will go around 70 below 80. That means it will go down in price fast at retail. I hope that in 2 months it will be at least half that price, then it will be worth it.

Re: Rumour: NX Software Lineup Will "Blow Away" Wii U, Controller Streaming Gimmick "Was Made Up"

Dave24

Well, it was pretty obvious they moved some games from U to NX, however no amount of strategy will make Nintendo pump out the games faster, especially since they still learn about 1080p after all those years.
If this rumour would turn out true, then it could be bad time to be Nintendo gamer, because that strategy of pumping out the games faster could be release the game as barebones as possible in working state and patch in the content later, or make it "episodic" like SE does right now with Hitman. Or maybe early acess BS. Or going Souls series route, using the same engine and gameplay with little twist/change, so development time can be cut by half with as little budget as possible.
Although radical changes could mean DLC pay wall.

Re: Editorial: From Metroid: Other M to Star Fox Zero, the Awkward Experimentation With Beloved Franchises

Dave24

@Xenocity Sony is not about that. From where did you get that idea?
Demon's Souls and Until Dawn are opposite to what you said - expected to bomb even by them (Demon's Souls was predicted to sell around 100k copies), and yet they released those anyway.
Actually, I can't remember Sony focused on selling 5-10 mln as their main goal. Maybe with Uncharted 4 they expect to ship as many as possible, since it looks like they put a lot of money into that, but even with The Last of Us 5 mln wasn't their goal.

"I bet reviewers will lambaste Star Fox Zero for being too dependent on vehicles and featuring bright and color graphics with animals instead of being dark a gritty."
The game will also get slammed for it's lenght, probably.

Re: Editorial: From Metroid: Other M to Star Fox Zero, the Awkward Experimentation With Beloved Franchises

Dave24

@Yorumi "People are not looking for literal CoD style retreads and yearly releases"
Can't agree with that, since games that are playing it safe are most of the time bestsellers, either be it CoD, Far Cry, or even Dark Souls 3 being best seller in the entire franchise and not bringing that much new to the table and at times being downright rehash.

Anyway, back on topic, PG only did artwork/designs of characters, some producing and little directing (both with Nintendo main guys) and OST with other 3 or 4 companies, with programming done by Nintendo themselves, so it's not PG title that people expect, really.
Sadly, Star Fox Zero won't be that awesome title that you must own or reason to buy the U. Even though it was made probably as cheap as possible (with it rumored to started it's life as Wii prototype), it will still get shelved for years, blaming people for not buying game this bare bones and short.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Once Worked On A Game Boy Successor That Promised N64 Power In Your Pocket

Dave24

30 hrs battery life alone makes this rumour total BS, but on the other hand it's the same site that believed that crappy fake NX controller was real, among other things.

Even nowadays 30hrs battery life is hardly possible, also that photo of the console is the same "quality" as NX controller was.
Of course, there is also a small chance that it was written as whatevs without even thinking if it's possible or not, but still would be wasting money on something that was impossible.

Re: Feature: How One Man Saved Kyoto - And Video Games - From The Atomic Bomb

Dave24

@mystman12 SS saved Asians. There is no denying that and there is also nothing offensive, right?
With the second sentence, I don't know what is it's purpose actually. "Maybe not, but what's the fun in writing about only what we know for 100% certainty?"
Well, there is no room for interpretation of this article.

@OptometristLime what @Socar said is as plausible as this "article".

Re: Feature: How One Man Saved Kyoto - And Video Games - From The Atomic Bomb

Dave24

@mystman12 it's not well written. Like, at all.

It's offensive, poorly researched pile of sticks written by commie (which he himself confirmed by saying the only way of understanding this article is only his way and interpretation - it's borderline idiotic to even expect people to know "what author had in mind").

You must really be idiot to even claim something that this article tries to. There is not even one proof that he actually saved bideo games other than author implication, unless you really believe that Hiroshima is deserted to this day and not even one company came back to operation after bombing.

@Dave24 - please refrain from trying to circumvent the profanity filter. Thanks.

Re: Digital Foundry Puts the Star Fox Zero Resolution and Framerate to the Test

Dave24

@JaxonH and there are some running 60 looking good or even better than this. Don't know what's the point mentioning this.
Maybe gameplay will be saving grace on it, but even that is questionable when the game drops frames.
From first-party studio, I would expect something pushing boundries and hardware to the limit. You know, like the jump in graphics from launch to end of the console. Here it looks like it's not the case, which is a shame, because U supposedly is more powerful than PS3/360.

The comment form Miyamoto saying that they want it to be "cinematic experience" doesn't even sound comforting.
If it will be like 3 hours, then without Nintendo name slapped on it, it would be 10-20 bucks downloadable title tops.
Previous ones were not that long, but those were diffrent times.

Re: Digital Foundry Puts the Star Fox Zero Resolution and Framerate to the Test

Dave24

So it fails with constant 60fps, and not only that, but drops to 40? And it's 720p?
The game looks unimpressive to say the least - it actually looks like one of those games that just got put together to release something. You would think that with resolution this low they will take some AA into consideration, but nope, the jaggies are plenty. Looks like another unoptimized crap that will get discounted month after release at retail and will get around 75 on metacritic, so some people will bother, but not enough, so the series will get shelved again for something like a decade.
Especially that there is Dark Souls 3 and disastrous May around the corner, so the discount is unavoidable for retailers.

Re: Review: Yoshi's Story (Wii U eShop / N64)

Dave24

"Unfortunately the game is held back by oversimplified platforming, design that's clearly oriented towards young and inexperienced gamers, and an exceedingly short campaign."
Epic Yarn right there, but hey 10/10!!!!

Re: The Bunker Aims to Bring Live Action Psychological Horror to Consoles

Dave24

"The popularity of Her Story is testament to that."
Really? I though Cage games are testament to that.

I love adverts of "from the minds of [name succesfull game here] fame!" without any names, because they know it would turn out that there are industry nobodies or guys that were passing the drinks for a month and that wouldn't give them any attention.

Re: GAME Grabs UK Exclusivity of Fire Emblem Fates Special Edition

Dave24

@Andrzej777 Same with me. What is even more pathetic is that there were around 30 copies (AT BEST) of that for the whole country That's sad.
@blondeandy demand is "high", because the print is really, really low. In Essen (and some other close to it big cities in Germany) guys said there were like maybe 3-5 copies for pre-ordering that sold out within minutes or some not even getting it at all, because there was none.
Watch out for braindead white knights - they will call you names and say you're idiot for having life and not refreshing online retailers every second and it's your fault and not mighty and glorious Nintendo and to prove their point that it's your fault they will give you sites that sold out on it long ago, but they don't know, because they don't spreche Deutch or some other thing.

Re: Talking Point: Sony's PlayStation VR Launch Adds Pressure to Nintendo's Holiday - and Perhaps NX - Plans

Dave24

@XCWarrior well, that's nothing. Estimation of VR units sold this year is nearly 40 mln and by Q4 2017 they expect around 70-75 mln. Good luck

What peoples are forgetting about the price is that 399 euro is ONLY for headset ALONE. If you actually want to use it, you need PS cam, which is additional 50 euro, because without it you have piece of plastic you can't use. And although it will work with DS4, you're better off with PS move, so there's the price

Re: Talking Point: The Popularity of Nintendo Selects, Updates and DLC Expansions Can Change How We Buy Games

Dave24

@C-Olimar what's not to love? One of the BEST soundtracks and it's basically one of the best 2D platformers ever made and incredible improvment over Returns, with bigger stages and best underwater stages ever made.

Hitman won't pay off. Not only it's mpt a franchise with staying power anyomore and is only followed by die hard fans (6 years between Blood Money and Absolution was death sentence, and sales of Aboslution were not outstanding, because people already had nostalgia glasses imagining thing about Blood Money that were never there, like big sandbox stages), confusing release (at first it was supposed to be full game, and then episodic - they went back and forth with that at least twice) and the only content is that stupid live component, because they sorta killed replay value with ability of save spam.
Also, sheep are hyped now, but when you think about it, you're paying 60 bucks for 6 missions, and if that first ep is supposed to be any indication, you'll pay 60 bucks for 6 hours of gameplay, because 1st episode is around 1 hour long, 2 at best. You could use CoD line of defense, problem is there you have MP, here once you're done, you're done. Unless you want to make pointless havoc.

@NodesforNoids 60 mln... so? If you think everything goes to SE, think again.

Re: DLC Review: Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation

Dave24

Probably won't bother with Fates, because SE will get sold out faster than the page will load when the news about pre-order will come out. Scalpers and Nintendo FTW.

Good games released in May that will probably overshadow this one.

Re: Feature: Exciting Wii U and 3DS Games to Play in Spring and Summer 2016

Dave24

It will be interesting how scalpers will catch SE of Fates which will cause quick shortage on that, and how it will be on the sideline when most anticipated games of the year will get released like Uncharted 4, Doom, Mirror's Edge and some more.

FE in US is record-breaking only because there was barely anything worth mentioning, except maybe Primal which only got attention because setting. Other "competition" is either EE of Dying Light or X-com, which is PC only.

I can see Nintendo crying again in May "Y UR GMZ NO SELL" news.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates Finally Has a Release Date and Details for Europe

Dave24

May? Really? Are they serious?

Well, good luck getting slammed in nice ubersandwich between Uncharted 4, Doom, Homefront, Mirror's Edge, maybe TW3:Blood and Wine (although rumor has it will be april 23rd) and scalpers, so obviously they won't meet demand, because Nintendo.

Well, good luck. They seriously gonna need it.

Re: Editorial: Triple-A Third Party Games Will Need Creativity as Well as Marketing for NX Success

Dave24

@Marce2240 Both RE6 and TR2013 made profit - just didn't meet estimated sales as fast as they wanted.
You said this "8.5 million hardly means anything when you need to sell 7 million to make a profit" when in reality, they needed to sell 5 mln to cover it (8,5 mln - 9 mln is around double the budget). There is no missing the point in that.

There is of course scenario of breaking camel's back and going overboard with budget to the point of no return and losing the money, but as of now, they are planning budgets fine with few exceptions that still make some money.
Still the scenario of massive loses looks more like far future.

Re: Editorial: Triple-A Third Party Games Will Need Creativity as Well as Marketing for NX Success

Dave24

@TheLastLugia Dark Souls is a game barebones as it can be. If everyone was thinking like you, we would still be playing games like this
Untitled
Also probably horse with buggy etc.
Oh wait, you love some of those EVUL gamz. Sorry, my bad. Or you don't know what you want.
And you wonder about LEL, when you say lulzy things that can be summed up like "U TOTALLY FORCED TO BUY SEASON PASS OR PREORDER!1111oneoneone MUH H4T00Rzzz".
You are not forced to even look at it. It's that simple, and yet you act like tool "the evul publishers" use, like you MUST buy ANYTHING and everything. You can just ignore it. I know, sounds amazing and outlandish.
How SE and TR 2013 fits in your argument I don't know, because it made money back. It even spawned a sequel! So yeah... It turns out they planned out the budget fine.

I love your full of hypocrisy "Well then that ain't my problem, and it shouldn't be yours either". Well, if it's not your problem, then why you make a big deal out of it? Just buy what you want. Done.
