In this completely silly run of bite-sized features, we're going to write a new version of '12 Days of Christmas' with a Nintendo twist that will, hopefully, be good enough to sing.
Ten Falcons Punching
Sometimes we stick to the conventions of the original lyrics, sometimes we don't — that's how we roll. On this occasion we thought a bit of love for the brilliant F-Zero series and a commemoration of Captain Falcon's continuing awesomeness in Super Smash Bros. was called for. It just about works in terms of the rhythm of the song, too, so that'll do for us.
So far, then, our song is as follows:
On the First day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
A big chair in a Pear Tree.On the Second day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Third day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Fourth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Fifth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Sixth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Seventh day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Eighth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear TreeOn the Ninth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear Tree
On the Tenth day of Christmas Nintendo sent to me,
Ten Falcons Punching
Nine Shantaes Dancing
Eight Malons Milking
Seven Cheep Cheeps Swimming
Six Yoshis Laying
FIVE SONIC RINGS
Four calling Chatots
Three angry cuccos
Two Koopa Troopas
and a big chair in a Pear Tree

Hehe this is brilliant
11 Metroids draining? I can't really think of anything to do with piping. Except for the Mario series, which has already been in this song twice...
This one killed it for me since it's no longer connected to the original lyrics in some way. The first 9 are okay to awesome. This one would have been acceptable aside from leaping if it's "sleeping", slipping, clipping, flipping, or maybe "10 loads of" something. Well it's the writer's call so be it.
Edit:
10 Toads-a-leaping doesn't sound bad.
Now my entire rationale of how the universe works has collapsed in on itself forming a dwarf star. Or in the spirit of the season, maybe an elf star?
I honestly can't think of anything for 11. Piper's piping could be warpers piping - a lose wording for Mario and co. goin down those warp pipes. That's about it. I guess you could do something with the 11 worlds in Mario 3D World?
10 Falcons Punching? I like Falcon too but that wasn't very good.
Well, I didn't expect this, but I'm still on for 11 (Warp) Whistles piping and 12 Bongos drumming
10 toads a leaping
11 metroids assembling
I still wonder why there were no "2 bananas shoved in my ears". Oh well, they can make 11 of them.
11 whistles warping?
11 Dekus Whistling
11 Pikmin Pushing, Pulling, Plucking, Posing? Kinda fits in with the Pipers Piping thing
11 Marios warp-piping? Though you have to add in an extra beat. And I'm pretty sure "to warp-pipe" is not in the dictionary. 11 Marios warping? 12 g'rillas bongo-ing? 11/12 rare amiibos? 11/12 epic fails 11/12 final smashes
11 kirbys sucking
What happened to "Ten Luigis leaping"?
Eleven Dekus piping? Because Deku Pipes.
@BensonUii Yeah, it's a bit disappointing that they didn't stick to the original lyrics for this line. How can 10 Captain Falcons be punching when there is only one? If they weren't going to stick to the original lines, than they could have done lines like '8 players smashing', which was very popular for being the 8th line. Really, they could have done something a lot better than this line :/
FALCON PUNCH!!!!!
Show me your moves!
Further proof Nintendo fans don't want 'new'. They just want old HD.
