Re: Delays With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Due to Physics Engine and Dual Release Decision

Dave24

@AcridSkull apex kek.
The dumbest thing you can say is something not related and go for "hur dur u dumb" and then go full ass with "It takes a long time to develop an engine before they can even begin working on a game". Yep, because without engine, they don't start writing, concept art, etc. For someone calling others "dumb", turns out you are the one.

@Syrek24 you say it like they are working for free or something.

Re: Delays With The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Due to Physics Engine and Dual Release Decision

Dave24

Reading this is painful. Not only it shows how behind the times Nintendo actually is, but also how stupid. Physics engine, really? Couldn't you ask some of the studios you own for help or something, instead of screwing around and "delaying" the game for another year?

But in the end, it's actually not delay, which is insult to injury and I absolutely love how Miyamoto is doing damage control with "while ago", like they thought of it year ago or something and then Aonuma over his effort by saying that they were planning to release new Zelda on both platforms from the beginning. From what I remember, we started hearing about the game in beginning of 2013 and if I remember right they said the progress was going pretty good and they had something already geared up for E3 but didn't show because they wanted to polish it more, so that means they were pretty sure back then about the NX itself. Which means the game didn't get the delay, they had it planned to be that way years ago.

This game shows what a mess Nintendo is.

@Dave24 Stop using profanity please.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo Did A Solid Job at E3 2016, But That Didn't Ease Long-Term Concerns

Dave24

Looks like some nindies got some horrible death. I would name a few, but can't remember names, but remember A.N.N.E and some others announced in 2014? Gone.
I would not have much hopes for nindies.

Also, it's obvious they are dumping U in 2016, what is stupid to me is that they didn't show off NX and instead just wait. I guess they did not learn their lesson with the U and hope for the hype to generate by itself.

Re: E3 2016: Hideki Kamiya Has "Spent A Lot Of Time" Thinking About Bayonetta 3

Dave24

Problem is, SEGA owns Bayonetta, so even if PG found publisher, said publisher would have to strike a deal with SEGA, and for a game that doesn't sell well, I don't see it hapenning unless Nintendo comes in again.

Which is sad, because the genre is pretty much dead - it died with a bang and one of the best games I played in my entire life (Bayonetta 2), but I would love to see game this excellent one more time.
God of War turned out to be huge dissapointment to me, so my only hope for a fix is another Bayonetta

Re: Talking Point: Revealing an Innovative Legend of Zelda at E3 Could Provide a Timely Boost for Nintendo

Dave24

@roboshort but they shouldn't learn about technical/engine things, though, because cdpr are one of the worst, up there with bugthesda.

Anyway, innovative zelda won't provide any boost. They pretty much killed Wii U and are behind times with many aspects.
Even if they will "innovate" zelda, like adding climbing, it's still nothing innovative as far as whole gaming is concerned.

Re: Talking Point: Five Years of eShop Progress Doesn't Mask Nintendo's Next-Gen Challenge

Dave24

"Nintendo has actually been a leader in the console space with game bundles, as the only one of the 'big three' to embrace the Humble Bundle, for example, with two separate examples on that service."
For EU it was only once - the first one was for US only.

Overall, though, it's hard to disagree with this article. How can Nintendo still be without unified account system? I could understand if it was some outlandish new technology, but it was done around the time Wii came around by the competition already. Wii U came in, and still nothing. They are taking babysteps towards it, but I suspect NX won't launch with this "feature", because they love too much being el presidente of your purchase.
It's clear Nintendo loves to be in control, but that's what drives people away from them.

Re: Yo-kai Watch Clings on in UK Charts as Fire Emblem Fates Tumbles Out of Top 40

Dave24

Called FE back when they announced the release for EU, so I'm not shocked.

"It's a rapid tumble for a dual-release that enjoyed impressive sales in the US earlier in the year, but evidently the UK audience hasn't picked it up with the same enthusiasm."
God, in February there were 2 (two) games that were worth checking out - Primal and Xcom 2, although Xcom is kinda niche genre, so mainstream had only one game. If they released it in EU at the same time, it would enjoy strong sales. Now, though?

You have Uncharted, Overwatch, Witcher witch are obvious GOTY material, and also you have other "smaller" releases like Doom and tommorow there will be Mirror's Edge which will probably also enjoy some beyond 70 metacritic. Also there is Kirby coming, which is a surprise we won't wait for it 2 years or don't get it at all. Like they knew FE will bomb, because it couldn't stand the competition.
So no sh#ts given about censored game cut in 3 with loads of DLC, released by company that does everything as backwards and unproffesional as possible is really no surprise.

Re: The Book Of Unwritten Tales 2 Will Be Opening On Wii U Next Week

Dave24

The first one was strong meh, with weak puzzles, dead horses and morronic ending. The prequel was better but was pathetically short (around 5hrs).
Sequel is better, with most jokes working, but on PC it was pretty crash prone. Most characters in the first were cringe worthy, but at times the cringe is 100 times bigger to the point of unbearable, like idiotic "depression" (or some really unoriginal "twists" or plot points). It's also pretty long, but that's because beginning is boredom. The ending is cancer, because there is no ending, it's setup for another one.

Re: Nintendo Steps Up Its 3DS Marketing for Young Gamers

Dave24

Isn't that too late for those commercial, though? MX or whatever it's called is on the way.

Anyway, the second commercial is weird - I understand they wanted to go "EXTREME!!!111oneoneone" way with all the mean spirit, but when there is no hot action showed, it loses that family Nintendo spirit and goes more into dark world.
That mom commercial thing looks kinda creepy in a way... Mom looks tired. Like she needs her fix or something.
And both are about Mario being one greedy bas...italian plumber.

Re: Fire Emblem Fates Drops Down UK Charts as Half Term Sales Boost Rivals

Dave24

@Dr_Lugae FE got released 20th of May, so that's 11 days, and there is no denying the drop is huge.
Also, there is serious importing going on from UK, so it's not like it's UK only to extent.
Either way, you say "only shooters or fifa" and very next deny your own claim with other games selling. Which is it?

@JuhaBacha Untitled
This picture sums it up perfectly what you said

Also, what's the trolling? That I called sales of FE dropping fast and not being as high as in US, because February had 2 games, unlike May which has few 90+ avg games on metacritic, which makes them pretty much GOTY material?
Well, turns out it's a fact.

Re: Weirdness: Fox Stole Footage Of NES Titles For Family Guy And Copyright-Claimed The Originals On YouTube

Dave24

Truth is, nobody cares for internet nobodies at the end of the day, and for Google, only big guns like FOX and turning youtube more into something like TV only on interwebz can salvage them in their minds. Youtube bleeds money since Google bought it, so they have to make money somehow. With making a deal with big companies, they had to be more pro-active about copyright etc.
Only thing youtube/google did wrong here is not writing the searcher for copyright violations to not search for infridgmenet BEFORE the supposedly violated content happened to be shown, but after.

But anyway, to all the kids here not even having to balls to make a statement and not use it (if it sucks so bad, then why even bother?) saying "ZOMG LEL2BE SUCKS WITH CAWPHY WHITE!", I will throw some numbers so you will better understand the situation.
There are 300 (three hundred) hours worth of bideos uploaded on youtube... PER MINUTE.
Now think about that - how the f#ck they can check every, single one of them for anything? That's a lot of crap to deal with, so OF COURSE THEY GONNA F-K UP!
To do legit check with lawyers if there is copywrite braking or not, lawyers can take something like 500 bucks per hour, and considering how much there is uploaded, there would be money involved to build hundreds if not thousands of death starts and it would probably take longer than we will all live on this sad world.

The goy bideo is back, so no harm done.

Re: Meet The Edgy And Mature Fan-Made Pokémon Game That Aims To "Fix" The Series

Dave24

They talk about tropes and whatever, and yet they did excatly what they are against - a trope. Of "mature". You can't get more generic with mature with things like horror and swearing. They even do topics that are already a dead horse in gaming ages ago.
That's what happens to franchises when tweens want to make them "betterer".

Imagine if companies were listening to twats like them. Craptastic games like Sanic 2006 would be major titles.
I hope Nintendo will slam it hard.

Re: Talking Point: Faith In Yo-kai Watch May Pay Off in the West, Though Overthrowing Pokémon is a Long Shot

Dave24

Truth is, if they didn't f-k around for whatever reason and released it in 2013, they could actually win with Pokemon, considering how meh people were about Black/White and it's sequel. People would pick it up out of dissapointment, but now? You have X/Y and now it's hyping time for Rehashed XY Lion/Awesome Moon and 3DS being one foot in the grave. They couldn't pick worse time.

Competition is healthy, but when it's slow as hell making Nintendo look competent and giving a single crap, I don't see them succeed.

Re: Soapbox: Why Websites Don’t Need to Give a Game a Review Score (and Probably Shouldn’t)

Dave24

@buildz review can't be 100% objective, because diffrence of personality/tastes/experience (especially that).
I mean, I've heard few thousand metal albums, of old and new so I have diffrent perspective than average Joe who listens to couple of bands that are well known. So when I "objectively" say that X mainstream band is crap because some other did something like that years ago only much better, Joe will call bullcrap and impassibru (which happened in my reviewer years... just like trusty hatemail ). You have that happening with review scores, when, for example, IGN gives score lower/higher than everyone else and people that did not even play the game say it's too low/high based on scores of other sites.
Games can be scored objectively to a degree, being performance/graphics, but it can't be objective 100%, because it's written by human being and not machine.
"Think of it like an essay in school - did your teacher mark you lower because he/she didn't like the font you chose or the format you presented your work in?"
Yes. Many, many times yes. I mean, if you will chose to write your homework on toilet paper because reasons, you will get what you deserve (F).
Also, essey is not review. Also homework/task has a objective predetermined by the teacher (or rather programme, be it subject or didactics) in advance that student must meet. If you don't know how something works, then don't bring it up.

Re: Soapbox: Why Websites Don’t Need to Give a Game a Review Score (and Probably Shouldn’t)

Dave24

We need scores. I mean, let's be honest here, reviewers don't have journalistic degree but are some randoms from the web who make a living from it and nothing more. Sometimes showing their own lack of knowledge on the subject reviewed or just their own botomless stupidity as a human being.
This article is nothing more than a bunch of hot air and nothing more.
Exhibit A modern part is actually very own reviewers fault, giving 7s left and right and there are so many 7s, that 7 is actually AVERAGE.
What writer also forgot (probably unintentionaly, because nobody gives a sh#t about something so important) is the sole reason why 80s/90s/00s looks how it looks - nowadays, we have oversaturation of the market/how much games there are.
I mean, through whole life of the SNES and Genesis combined there were around 1500 games. Now compare it to today's standard of 700 games PER YEAR. So of course when there is MORE the final result/average will differ. The market changed in the last 30 years.
Metacritic gives the convinience of not reading every single review but average of all the scores and opinions. Not every game is Nintendo game where the plot doesn't matter and more often than not there are braindead idiots reviewing games who can't say anything about the gameplay/music/performance without f-ing spoiling the whole game.

Re: Some Unlucky Fire Emblem Fates Customer Have Their Special Edition Pre-Orders Cancelled

Dave24

Keep white knighting Nintendo, it will do good for everyone
Like justifying the extremely limited FE edition, to the point some retailers had 30 copies if they were lucky to even sell it.

Collector's Editions keep collecting dust at retail in many cases, because they print crazy amount of it.

What blind Nintendo fanbois do not see in situation like this (a game being made ebay exclusive like FE) is that there can be meeting the demand and having things being collector's/special if they want to feel like that one special snowflake, like with Witcher 3 CE, which had around 4k copies per country per platform (so 12k) and it showed that it still wasn't enough, so anyone wanting to feel like special snowflake can be one ("special edition" argument people).

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fans Petition the White House To Secure Visa Rights for eSports Competitors

Dave24

@Rob_mc_1 Wow. I mean wow. I don't know what to say actually, because what you just said and showed is so sad, something inside me died.
That's what happens when you skip school I guess.

@Senario try holding a rifle - it's not NES zapper, no kidding. Also, there are many types of shooting, like while skiing. Chess is not sport, it's competition/contest.
"And it is highly impossible to change the word for something once it has been coined"
Another one who skipped school. From where are you coming, people?
Through the ages, languages changed, just like meaning of the words and for those it didn't even take ages, but years.
Another earth shattering fact for you would be that there are many types of dictionaries, and yes, those have definitions of selfies etc.
Also, you can't even comprehend what you are reading or even writing.

Esport is more appropriate than sport, just like we call electronic mail email, but goddamn, let's not kid ourselves, gamer should not be called athlete, because it doesn't fit.

Re: Super Smash Bros. Fans Petition the White House To Secure Visa Rights for eSports Competitors

Dave24

"eSports and the continuing attention the field is earning"
Isn't it actually decreasing, considering that one of the biggest (StarCraft) just died?

Also, this guy should be happy that he only got deported, because for what he did they should ban him by law from getting another visa for at least 5 years.

This situation only shows what ignorant and total nolife this guy is and he should stay in mother's basement. And what sheep people are signing it.

I mean, it's obvious that he didn't tell his mom everything and what he will be doing in US (because I don't believe he applied himself for it nor he is that stupid to actually apply for the turist visa knowing he will go there to make money), and now for the whole situation he blames everyone else, except himself.
I mean, wow, what a responsible guy.
