This weekend I want to focus on decorating for Christmas. Planning on getting my tree and my train set all ready today. (Yes, I like having a train set under my Christmas tree... choo choo! 🚂) Kind of a busy weekend for me, but that's OK. I love decorating for Christmas so I'm sure to have a lot of fun.
As for what I'll be playing, here's what I picked.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day, I kind of took a break from it but I'll be sure to play this weekend. Maybe do a vacation home or two in the DLC.
Disney Illusion Island - Still chugging along in it. I made quite a bit of progress in it and I just acquired a new ability. Things have gotten a little tougher but I'm still enjoying it.
I might play one more game or two this weekend, but haven't decided yet. I hope you all have a great weekend. I had a nice Thanksgiving as well, we still have quite a bit of leftovers, lol.
Looks like a nice update... I've played Ninja Gaiden II on the Virtual Console years ago. I've been wanting to try out that Kid Icarus game for a good while now. I wanna try all those other games out sometime too.
@Kraven I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, car, and back. My condolences, and sending you my best wishes... I hope you can recover real soon.
@Tyranexx Anytime. Gotcha, I did play a little bit of the NES version of DQI and III when I was a kid. It has indeed been a very long time so I'm leaning towards starting a new game. I'll be sure to let you and the others know when I start it.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Love this game, and I'm still playing a little bit each day. I'm pretty much done with Happy Home Paradise... I did my last facility and I even upgraded another one.
Mario Kart World - Thinking of playing Free Roam, hoping that I can find more Peach Medallions and P-Switches, as well as Knockout Tour. Maybe some Time Trials as well.
Disney Illusion Island - Think I want that wonderful Disney magic this weekend... so I'll be continuing that game. ✨ I came back to it when the game trial was active.
I didn't pick it, but I'm also thinking of coming back to Tetris Effect: Connected as well. You all have a lovely weekend, and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. 🦃
@Tyranexx Congrats on finishing Pokemon Scarlet and Dragon Quest III! I've been thinking of coming back to Dragon Quest XI sometime, but I'm thinking of starting a new game since it's been a while since I last played it... I don't want to get stuck, lol. I didn't put too much time into it either, so nothing to worry about for me.
@Tyranexx They're still worth a try, I think, if you decide to get the expansion pack. I wouldn't mind revisiting Double Dash once that gets added to Nintendo Classics.
@Tyranexx Lol exactly. I do love both games personally. Yeah, I would imagine they would add more tracks with DLC. That happened with Mario Kart 8 and its Deluxe counterpart, after all. Yeah definitely, I'd say the newer ones have better controls in general. I sometimes come back to the older ones (I've played Super Mario Kart online with @Sunsy once or twice), but not super often. I will say that I do like the older games' battle modes though.
Oh look, there's that letter I wrote to you guys! June 10th is when it'll be announced, huh? Can't wait for that date, lol! I've been enjoying Mario Kart World as well... I think that game gets too much hate personally. I've actually been thinking of doing Time Trials of the tracks sometime, too. Would love to have updates for that game, as well.
@Tyranexx Hard to say really, I enjoy both games for different reasons. There's more things to do in World compared to most of the other Mario Kart games, there's this big open area to drive around in, there's all these character costumes you can get, and Knockout Tour is so much fun. Whereas 8 Deluxe has so many tracks in it, particularly with the DLC.
On a side note, I generally prefer playing the newer Mario Kart games over the older ones. While Mario Kart 64 was a big part of my childhood, it is a bit rough to come back to, IMO.
@Tyranexx Thanks! I hope I can get it later on too. I've been enjoying Disney Illusion Island, it's a nice relaxing Metroidvania that stars Mickey Mouse and his friends. There's a lot of collectible items based on all the Mickey cartoons as well.
And shifting gears a bit, I also played some Mario Kart World recently. Been a while since I played it and I did some Knockout Tour races.
@Tyranexx Thanks, and I will hang in there for sure. Glad I have them all cataloged, too... and I have so many bells in ACNH actually! But yeah, I really only spend them on stuff I want, lol. (Only thing I'm missing is the white conductor outfit!) If you're interested to know, I'm also thinking of playing Disney Illusion Island this weekend, as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day. Recently I got all the colors of the conductor hat, which I'm really happy about as someone who enjoys trains. I'll be sure to be a good conductor... no matter what color I wear! I'm still excited for the update too. And within New Horizons, I'll also be focusing on...
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise - I finally started playing more of the DLC, and I've been enjoying it. Been slowly but surely chipping away at it, and I want to at least roll credits before the new year comes.
Kirby Air Riders - Since it's the last weekend the demo is playable, I'll be sure to play it this time as well.
I hope you're all doing well. Some slight depression on my end, but other than that, I'm OK. Be good, happy gaming, and have a lovely weekend.
Luigi's Mansion - I'm at area 4 now, so I wanna try to finish this game this weekend. I still really like this game, by the way... and I know it's a hot take, but I like it a lot more than Super Mario Sunshine.
Kirby Air Riders - They're having a demo playable this weekend and the next, so I'm excited to try the game out. It's been ages since I last played Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube, so I'll see how I'll fare.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Star-Crossed World - I wanna try to get all the Starries before going to the next area. I feel like I'm going through it quickly, lol. But I do still like it, and I think it's one of the better Switch 2 upgrade packs as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still plugging away at that game, and I'll try to find the time to play the DLC, too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event. I do still like it, though I feel like I'm getting a little burnt out from it.
You all have a lovely weekend. Be good, and happy gaming.
Hope you all are doing well. It's no longer spooky season, and I wanted to have a Rosalina profile picture this time. Here's what I'll be playing...
Luigi's Mansion - I made it through area 2 last time, and I'm enjoying the game, too. It's been ages since I last played it and I'm happy it's on Nintendo Classics now! And just for fun, I've also been playing it during nighttime and with the lights turned off, just for added immersion, lol.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Star-Crossed World - (Yes, I left out the "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" bit, lol.) I got the upgrade pack recently and while I didn't put too much progress in, I've been enjoying it from what I've played. It's more Kirby, and that's not a bad thing at all.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit every day. One of my cousins actually gave me a green conductor's hat, and as someone who likes trains, that made my day! I've already been having the green outfit, so I'm happy for sure. It was my most wanted color, and there's a green train to match, too! Been thinking of doing a photo shoot for Christmastime. I'm excited for the new update, as well. It'll come out on the same month as my birthday! Nintendo will be wishing me a happy birthday with that update, haha.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event. We unfortunately didn't make the goal in the last one, so hopefully we'll do better this time.
I'm also thinking of playing Mario Kart World, Disney Illusion Island, and maybe Mario Party Superstars. We'll see how it goes.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and happy gaming, everyone.
I'm not interested at all. I don't like Warriors games... I tried a couple of them (Hyrule Warriors on Wii U and the Age of Calamity demo) and they're too repetitive and button-mashy for me. They even made my thumb tired.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection - With Halloween coming up, I've been in a Castlevania mood lately, so I'll be playing the games on that. Not sure if I'll finish any of them considering their difficulty, but I still have fun with them. Good games to play before Luigi's Mansion comes out on Nintendo Classics, too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Playing a little bit each day. This time I've also been giving stuff to my animal friends in hopes that I get the conductor hat I want, in addition to checking Able Sisters. They just haven't been showing up at all, which kind of upsets me. Hopefully others can help me out.
Mario Kart World - Been a while since I played it. I'll at least do some collectable hunting in the free roam mode, and maybe the online as well.
And just for fun, I'll also mention that I'll be playing this on Halloween...
Luigi's Mansion - It's the perfect game to play on Halloween. Need I say more?
Maybe I'll play Mario Party Superstars on Halloween too, on the Horror Land board. I'll see how it goes. You all have a great weekend, everybody.
@KateGray Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day. 🎂 ❤️
I was hoping they would add this game to Nintendo Classics! That's awesome news for sure. I know what I'm gonna be playing this Halloween, lol... plus it's been ages since I last played it.
I don't find myself playing NES games too often these days, but if I do, I normally play them via NSO or game collections (I picked NSO). I've played a good chunk of them when I was a kid, thanks to a secondhand console we've had years ago, but I wasn't around during the 80s.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - Been replaying it and I'm at the last main dungeon. I'll be getting the last instrument and hopefully I'll find more bottles and pieces of heart before the final boss. I did the color dungeon too, and as much as I wanted the extra attack power, I ended up picking more defense instead.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event so I'll be playing in that.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day. Still no luck on the conductor hats appearing at my Able Sisters shop. Been wanting a green one with Christmastime coming in a couple months. Might play the DLC too but I'll see how I feel.
Have a lovely weekend and I hope you're all doing well.
Hee hee hee... been in the Halloween spirit with my new profile picture and banner! Don't worry guys, I won't cast any wicked spells on any of you, lol. Here's what I'm planning on playing...
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - The Switch remake to be more specific. I felt like replaying it, and I still love this game. I got the first three instruments as of this post. I'm also playing it on Switch 2, and I'm happy to say that the frame rate jittering is gone.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day, and continually checking the Able Sisters shop. Maybe the DLC too, we'll see.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event today.
I might play a few other games besides these, but haven't decided yet. You all have a lovely weekend.
@Yalloo Thanks! I placed 1st by the time we reached 100%, so that felt real good!
Still have a lot on my mind, but I'm doing the best I can. Here's what I'm planning on playing...
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit of this game each day. It's been a little while since I played Happy Home Paradise, so maybe I should come back to that. Really hope my Able Sisters shop will have the conductor hats... I do have two variants of it at least, and every variant of the outfit.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event, and hopefully we'll get 100% of our goal this time.
Klonoa: Empire of Dreams - This is actually a really good platformer. Been playing it on GBA - Nintendo Classics, and I made a decent amount of progress in it. I think I finished the first three worlds.
I might play one or two other games besides these, but not sure what I'd want to pick yet. You all have a great weekend.
@Jhena Thank you. Been going through a difficult time but I'm doing my best.
@Yalloo Sending my thanks to you too. That is strange we didn't meet the goal... every other event I played had us reach 100%, you could be right there just wasn't too many players this time. So no I've not seen that.
@Mana_Knight Thanks and you're very welcome. I hope so too.
@Mana_Knight Oh no! I'm sorry to hear. Yeah, I'm a little depressed now. But I'm doing the best I can. Really happy that stuff like Animal Crossing exists. Not only is it relaxing, but I love how cute it looks, too.
I'm not feeling too well mentally... I've got a lot on my mind now but I'll just leave it at that here. I hope I can feel better soon, but here's what I'll be playing.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Been still playing it, and I'm still checking the Able Sisters shop for my conductor hats. I've also been chipping away at Happy Home Paradise.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus - I came back to this game pretty recently, I'm at the Cobalt Coastlands now and I'm getting more stuff done for the Pokedex.
Mario Kart World - Likely gonna be playing online, depending on how I feel. Or I could go back to Free Roam mode.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event.
I hope you're all doing well. Happy gaming, everybody.
@Tyranexx You're very welcome. It's a great game to relax and blow off steam with, that's for sure... I did hear Silksong is mega challenging! I didn't make a huge amount of progress in the original Hollow Knight, so that game might be the end of me, lol.
Honestly, I'm having a little trouble thinking of what games I want to play besides my usual ones... I've finished Donkey Kong Bananza, and its postgame rehearsals and last level, and I'm trying to think of what backlog game I want to tackle next. I'm not super in the mood for RPGs at the moment though... those can take a long time. OK, here's what I'm planning on playing.
Mario Kart World - Gonna revisit the Free Roam mode and the online multiplayer.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I've finally caught my last bug! Hooray for me! I'll still keep playing in hopes that I get the rest of the variants for the conductor hat (for the train lover in me! 🚂), and I'll be playing the DLC too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event.
I'm also thinking of revisiting Disney Illusion Island, and possibly Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. The former shouldn't take too long, and it'll give me a little bit of Disney magic. ✨
You all have an awesome weekend, and happy gaming, everybody.
@Tyranexx I love Kirby's Epic Yarn! Such a cute, cozy game, and I hope you continue to enjoy it.
I can only pick one game again... anyway, here's what I'll be playing. (Edit: I'm MarioVillager92 in case you're not aware, I changed my username.)
Super Mario All-Stars - My way to celebrate Mario's 40th anniversary... it's a childhood favorite of mine. Might play through the entirety of Super Mario Bros. 1 tonight, and I'll likely play at least some of SMB2 and 3 this weekend as well. This is the game I picked on the poll.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Gonna try to look for that dang bug for my museum, and hopefully the Able Sisters will finally have my conductor hats. I might play the DLC too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Playing in today's ritual event.
Donkey Kong Bananza - I've finished the game already, but there's still some stuff I wanna do in the game. I don't have the DLC as of now.
Be good, and have a wonderful weekend. Happy gaming, and happy 40th anniversary, Super Mario!
Donkey Kong Bananza - I think I'm pretty close to the end right now, so it'll be my main focus. I hope I can finish it this weekend, lol.
Wario Land 4 - I started playing it on NSO's expansion pack pretty recently, and I'm liking it. I wrapped up the Emerald Passage and did a bit of the Sapphire Passage last time I played.
Mario Kart World - Playing online and Free Roam, with my trusty Loco Moto, haha.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I think I know what to do to get the last bug, so I'll play a bit more of this game. And this might be an OCD thing, but I want all the colors of the conductor outfit and hat! I did get all the outfit variants, but the hats haven't been showing for me. I'll keep checking the Able Sisters shop daily though. One of these days.
Tetris Effect: Connected Another ritual event today.
I did hear Silksong is pretty good... I do want to play it as well, but I feel like I should revisit the original Hollow Knight and see how much progress I can make. I did get stuck in it last time. Maybe I'll start anew. To those who got Silksong, hope you're all enjoying it.
Have a wonderful weekend, be good, and happy gaming!
@dugan Lol! I can't blame him... but I already made this much progress so may as well try to get it all done. If the game would let me donate bugs without giving them to Blathers, I would, haha.
Donkey Kong Bananza - I just started my next area. I did recently explore the previous areas for banana gems and fossils. This game is definitely keeping me busy, lol.
Mario Kart World - Likely gonna play the online and Free Roam modes.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event to play in. And in a somewhat related note, maybe I'll play Tetris 99 as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Just one bug left for the museum... but if I can't find it, I'll play Happy Home Paradise instead.
I might play Super Mario Maker 2 as well, to play some NL folks' levels. It's been ages since I last played it. I don't remember if it's downloaded on my Switch 2, so if it isn't, I'll break out my Switch OLED and put the virtual game card in.
Have a lovely weekend, be good to yourselves, and happy gaming!
@Tyranexx You're welcome. That sounds like a lot of fun! I think you mentioned going on a roller coaster? (I'm still terrified of them, lol.) The concert sounds cool too.
Yeah, I do remember that the touch screen on my original DS got busted, I distinctly remember trying to recalibrate it... but to no avail. Plus the system itself hasn't worked in ages. The padding sounds a lot like the issue I had with Brothership, I didn't like the game because it just dragged on and on and on. It felt way longer than it needed to be. You're good on that review.
Ah yeah and a little update on me playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I caught the bugs I wanted to catch this month and took them all to my museum! I just have one left. I just had to move a lot slower than I'm used to so I wouldn't scare them away again.
@Tyranexx I hope you have a nice vacation. Nice job on finishing Dream Team! I did finish that game a decade ago so I don't remember too much of it, lol. I do remember how sluggish the giant battles were now that you mention it.
@HammerGalladeBro Happy birthday! I hope you have a fabulous day.
OK, here's what I'm playing this weekend. Same stuff, but with one new addition...
Mario Kart World - Still enjoying it and I'll likely play some more online races and the Free Roam. Maybe I'll play with a friend online if they're available.
Donkey Kong Bananza - Got this game yesterday and I'm really liking it. I made it through the first two worlds and I'll be checking out the next world.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event, plus I like Tetris.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll try to see if there's any bugs I haven't caught yet. If not, and when I get burnt out from that, I'll play the DLC.
I hope you all have a safe and wonderful weekend. Happy gaming, everybody.
Not this glitch again, I can only pick one game... -_- tagging @NintendoLife about this. Anyway, here's what I'll be playing.
Mario Kart World - Playing some more online races and the Free Roam mode. I think I want to do some Time Trials as well.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Playing in the next ritual event.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll try to see if I can get more bugs for the museum. I've also been wanting to finally get back to Happy Home Paradise, since I'm getting a bit burnt out from this awful luck I've been having, lol... these bugs keep flying away when I'm not even close to them!
I also want to get Donkey Kong Bananza, I have a coupon that's good until next Saturday, and I heard that game is amazing. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and happy gaming, everybody.
@Tyranexx I played that Mina the Hollower demo as well! Though I played the Switch 2 version. It's pretty dang good, just be prepared for a challenge... though that shouldn't come as a surprise since it's from the same studio that brought us Shovel Knight.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land - I have finished the game a while back, but I wanna try to 100% it this time. Since the Switch 2 edition is coming out later this month. Too bad I have to deal with those "no damage" challenges in the boss fights though.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event this Saturday.
Mario Kart World - It's actually been a fair while since I last played it, so I'd like to come back to it. Maybe even play with a friend online.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll try to catch new bugs for my museum... provided that I get lucky of course. I might play a bit of the DLC as well.
Hope you're all doing well. Have a wonderful weekend, and happy gaming, everybody.
One of my favorite childhood games. I still love playing it every now and then, and I still have our old SNES copy from back when I was a tot. What an awesome game! Even though Baby Mario's hollering can be a bit of a nuisance, lol.
Mario Kart World - Been playing the heck out of Knockout Tour online recently so I'll likely be focusing on that, and the Free Roam mode. Yesterday I managed to take home a 1st place victory in the Spiny Rally online! It feels so good getting 1st in Knockout Tour.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Always a good one to casually play, and I do remember there's a ritual event today so I'll play in that.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll try my luck in getting the remaining bugs for my museum this month. They might be incredibly rare though... I think I have about five more to get. Been a while since I played it, too.

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles
@PeterTomlan86 I would think so. I didn't make too much progress in either of them though because of how difficult they are.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The New Kirby Air Riders amiibo?
I'm not really interested in amiibo anymore, so I'll pass on those. Plus they're expensive.

@Tyranexx They're still worth a try, I think, if you decide to get the expansion pack. I wouldn't mind revisiting Double Dash once that gets added to Nintendo Classics.

Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?
I'm not interested at all. I don't like Warriors games... I tried a couple of them (Hyrule Warriors on Wii U and the Age of Calamity demo) and they're too repetitive and button-mashy for me. They even made my thumb tired.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th October)
@KateGray Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day. 🎂 ❤️
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library Next Week With A Spooky Classic
I was hoping they would add this game to Nintendo Classics! That's awesome news for sure. I know what I'm gonna be playing this Halloween, lol... plus it's been ages since I last played it.
Re: Can You Name These NES Games From The Mangled Box Art?
A perfect score for me!
Re: Talking Point: How Do You Play NES Games These Days?
I don't find myself playing NES games too often these days, but if I do, I normally play them via NSO or game collections (I picked NSO). I've played a good chunk of them when I was a kid, thanks to a secondhand console we've had years ago, but I wasn't around during the 80s.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (18th October)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (11th October)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (4th October)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
@Tyranexx Thank you for the kind words. I truly appreciate it. While it won't be easy, I'll certainly do the best I can.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
@Mana_Knight Oh no! I'm sorry to hear. Yeah, I'm a little depressed now. But I'm doing the best I can. Really happy that stuff like Animal Crossing exists. Not only is it relaxing, but I love how cute it looks, too.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (27th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
@OctolingKing13 Thanks! Agreed, I had a very good time with it overall. Now all I have to do is wait for the next 3D Mario!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
@Tyranexx You're very welcome. It's a great game to relax and blow off steam with, that's for sure... I did hear Silksong is mega challenging! I didn't make a huge amount of progress in the original Hollow Knight, so that game might be the end of me, lol.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th September)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)
@dugan Thank you!
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)
@dugan Lol! I can't blame him... but I already made this much progress so may as well try to get it all done. If the game would let me donate bugs without giving them to Blathers, I would, haha.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (30th August)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd August)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd August)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (23rd August)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (16th August)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th August)
@Tyranexx I played that Mina the Hollower demo as well! Though I played the Switch 2 version. It's pretty dang good, just be prepared for a challenge... though that shouldn't come as a surprise since it's from the same studio that brought us Shovel Knight.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (9th August)
I'll be playing...
Re: Anniversary: No Way Is Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island 30 Years Old Already
One of my favorite childhood games. I still love playing it every now and then, and I still have our old SNES copy from back when I was a tot. What an awesome game! Even though Baby Mario's hollering can be a bit of a nuisance, lol.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (2nd August)
This weekend I'll be playing...
Have a fabulous weekend and happy gaming.
Re: Nintendo Highlights Multiple Switch 2 And Switch Games Launching In August 2025
Only thing I'm truly interested in is Kirby's Switch 2 edition.
