@rvcolem1 The regular version that takes place in America. I did see recently that they made a Switch version, thanks for telling me about it! Loving this game, too.
@Tyranexx Yeah, I wish I played it earlier too, but yes, better late than never. We played it tonight, and it's a lot of fun! I even went ahead and put on steam train ambiance on YouTube while we were playing. I did see the expansions they made, would love to get them too! I see that Europe one, and I did see they made an old west one, as well. Glad to hear you enjoyed DQII.
Happy Valentine's Day, everybody! Here's what I'll be playing this weekend.
Hollow Knight - Been playing the heck out of this game, lol. Just discovered a new area so I'll check it out pretty soon. This game is just so good. Hopefully I'll finally finish it this year so I'll be ready for Silksong.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - It's been a fair while since I played it, since I kept playing Hollow Knight during my free time, lol. Basically getting more stars.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Been a while since I played this one too, so I'll play it for a little bit for some cozy vibes.
And just for fun, I'll also mention a board game...
Ticket to Ride - I'm excited to give this game a try! It came in the mail a couple days ago, and it's been a hot minute since I played board games in general, too. So I'll be playing this with my family this weekend. Also, trains! 🚂
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Be good, and happy gaming!
@Tyranexx Congrats on finishing Dragon Quest II! I still would like to get to DQXI sometime, I just have to be in the mood for RPGs first, lol. Right now, been playing a whole lotta Hollow Knight... that game had me hooked, lol.
I don't know if I'll get this, actually. Aces didn't have a lot of longevity for me, plus its online got kind of bad for me at times. If Fever's online does indeed turn out to be better, then I might get it on sale. Otherwise, I'll skip it.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Once again, it's via SMG1+2 for the Switch. I'm getting the Green Stars right now... and hopefully I can do Grandmaster Galaxy as well. I do know it's mega-tough!
Hollow Knight - The Switch 2 Edition was enough to have me want to revisit it. We don't have to spend a penny on the upgrade pack, which is nice. I started a new game, since my original save file saw me getting stuck. Been having a great time with it! I do like a good Metroidvania and the atmosphere and art style is amazing. Hopefully I'll make more progress this time.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - With the Switch 2 Edition. Last night, I played with my cousin, and we made a Slumber Island together. We made it themed after trains, and we had a lot of fun! 🚂 I might touch it up a bit this weekend.
I hope you all have a fabulous and wonderful weekend. Be good, stay warm, and happy gaming, everyone. ☕ ❤️
I picked Splatoon Raiders, Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade pack, and Mina the Hollower. I have my eyes set on Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, but Crafted World was kind of a disappointment to me so I didn't pick that. I may or may not get Mario Tennis Fever... if I do get it, it would be on sale.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Via SMG1+2 on Switch. I'm at world 6 already, and this game has been keeping me real busy, lol. So I think I'll mostly play that this weekend.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - With the Switch 2 upgrade pack. Looks like I'm already done with the hotel, and I got all the Nintendo consoles! I might toy around with the Slumber Island since I haven't tried it out yet.
I might play one or two other games besides these, but I haven't decided yet. I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Today is the day that I have a cake that's dotted with candlelight... because it's my birthday! Hooray for me! 🎂⭐ I'll be playing quite a bit of Mario as a way to celebrate this wonderful day. Here's what I'll be playing...
Mario Kart World - I'll be playing my favorite tracks as a way to celebrate, and maybe some Knockout Tour races as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'll mainly continue doing more rooms for the hotel. I recently unlocked some stuff for the catalog, but I haven't unlocked the retro Nintendo consoles yet.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Via SMG1+2 for the Switch. I'll be starting this game as a way to celebrate my birthday... and my favorite Nintendo series of all time. It's been a while since I last played it on the Wii, as well!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Thanks for having me be a part of the Nintendo Life community! ❤️
Besides prepping for my birthday party and other stuff, I'll be playing...
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'm playing the new update and I'm enjoying it! My storage is fully upgraded now and I'm mainly focusing on the hotel stuff. I do want to get to making my Slumber Island later on. I do have a plan of how I want it themed set in stone.
Mario Kart World - Playing some more Knockout Tour races online. That mode is so good! Hopefully I'll find a Peach Medallion or two, as well. Recently, I did all the P-Switch missions!
Kirby Air Riders - Mainly focusing on the Road Trip mode. I finished about five stages as of this comment... and hopefully I'll be able to finish it before the day I have delicious cake!
UFO 50 - Think I'll mainly try out more games I haven't dusted off yet. I at least tried out almost half of them... not every game has clicked with me, but I did find a few favorites.
I hope you're all doing well. Have a lovely weekend, and happy gaming.
I've been wanting this on Switch for the longest time! I like both Nintendo and Disney so I'm happy to see this. As @Scapetti mentioned, I won't mind seeing the Magical Quest games get brought over, as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'm continuing to save up for the new update's storage upgrades. Is it January 15th yet?
Penny's Big Breakaway - I'm at the fifth world as of this comment. This is also the first I played in 2026 that happens to be brand new to me, and I like it.
Kirby Air Riders - I only dabbled in it while Super Mario Galaxy was my main game, so I want to dive deeper into this game. Last time, I played most of the tracks in the Air Ride mode.
Mario Kart World - Gonna play an online Knockout Tour race or three.
Hope you're all doing well. I do want to prep for my upcoming party - my birthday is coming up - so things might get busy for me this month, lol. Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
It's the month of January... and that means my birthday is coming up! Hooray! 🎂 And of course it's the New Year as well. I will need to prep for my cake day pretty soon... as well as my vacay that's coming in three months! 🌴 Here's what I'll be playing this weekend...
Super Mario Galaxy - Playing it via Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2. I want to finish the last dome before doing the last Bowser fight. On a side note, I do want to start Super Mario Galaxy 2 on my birthday as a way to celebrate. Since I'm a huge Mario fan and it's been a hot minute since I played it!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit every day and once again, I'll be saving up my bells for the storage upgrades.
Penny's Big Breakaway - I got this game on sale recently and I've been enjoying it. As of this comment, I did the first two worlds, so I'll be making more progress this weekend. It plays a lot like a Sonic game, which is no surprise since it's made by the same team that made Sonic Mania.
UFO 50 - Another game I got on sale. I'll be dabbling into a handful of games in this collection.
Mario Kart World - Think I'll play some online Knockout Tour races.
You all have a lovely weekend, and happy gaming, everybody.
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday! If you're curious, the games I got for Christmas were Super Mario Galaxy 1 + 2, Kirby Air Riders, and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond. I got quite a lot of eShop credit, too. I also heard on Christmas Eve that I'll be going on vacation on April, and I'm excited for it! Here's what I'll be playing this weekend...
Super Mario Galaxy - I'm playing it on SMG1+2, and I still love it. What an awesome game! It's still one of my favorite games of all time. ❤️ I finished the fountain dome last time I played so I'll work through the next dome.
Kirby Air Riders - I haven't started playing this game yet (not counting the online demo), but I will be sure to do so this weekend.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit every day, and I'm still saving my bells for the storage upgrades in the next update.
I'll definitely get to MP4 soon enough, and maybe I'll play a bit of Mario Kart World this weekend as well. Remember to stay warm and cozy, and I hope you all have a lovely weekend. ❤️
It's been a very busy and stressful week for me... so I'm doing my best to recover from it. I got all the Christmas presents I want to give at least, so that's good. I got a pretty terrible paper cut earlier, and it seriously hurt. Hopefully it will get better soon. So yeah... I'm not feeling too well right now.
As for what I'll be playing, I'm not really sure. As much as I like Super Mario Odyssey, I might have been getting a bit burnt out from it recently. I might play it this weekend, but I haven't decided. But here's what I picked in the poll.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - More saving up for the storage upgrades, and it's a nice game to relax with. I'm thinking of making a photo shoot for the holidays as well.
Mario Kart World - Probably play in the Free Roam mode as a way to relax and decompress, and maybe some online races, too.
Tetris 99 - Just playing a few online matches and maybe get some tickets if the bonus objectives are doable for me.
I hope you're all doing well. Merry Christmas to everyone who celebrates it, and happy holidays!
@Tyranexx That's cool, and that sounds like me before I started replaying SMO, lol. We're both revisiting a Super Mario game, haha. That Pokemon thing reminds me, been taking another break from Pokemon Legends: Arceus so I should come back to it later on.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - I'm still playing a little bit each day, and recently I finally got the white conductor outfit! Hooray! It came to my Able Sisters shop not too long ago, and I'm so happy I have all the variants of both the conductor outfit and hat. Next I'll save up my bells for the storage upgrades coming in the next update.
Super Mario Odyssey - I'm currently at the Luncheon Kingdom, and I've been getting quite a lot of moons... I tend to be explorative in games like this, lol. Still love this game after all these years.
Mario Kart World - Think I'll play the online and Free Roam modes. Those P-switches are getting much more difficult to find now, lol... but I did get one more in my last session. I found 393 P-switches as of writing this comment.
I hope you all have a great weekend. Happy gaming and remember to stay warm.
@Tyranexx I love that you're playing Super Mario 3D World, it's easily one of my favorite Mario games. Glad to hear you're enjoying it too!
@Tyranexx Anytime, and it looks cool for sure... I have a couple Mario holiday sweaters myself. Thanks! It is indeed train/locomotive-related, haha... shocking, I know! 🚂
Hope you all are doing well... here's what I'll be playing!
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day. I got a new animal villager recently, and her name is Tutu. I also decorated one of my home's rooms for Christmas... er, I mean Toy Day! I also got a new profile picture from it, with me with my conductor outfit, train, and sleigh with presents. All aboard the Toy Day train with me... D! 🚂🎄❤️
Mario Kart World - Think I want to play the online and Free Roam modes, and maybe some Time Trials as well.
Super Mario Odyssey - After finishing Disney Illusion Island, I thought I'd come back to a Switch classic. It's been a long time since I played it, and I heard it got a Switch 2 update, so I'm planning on giving it a replaythrough on my Switch 2.
Oh yeah, and I forgot to pick it, but I want to play Tetris 99 for the new theme.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and happy gaming.
@Tyranexx I like your new profile picture! 🎄 I'm getting into the festive mood as well, haha.
This weekend I want to focus on decorating for Christmas. Planning on getting my tree and my train set all ready today. (Yes, I like having a train set under my Christmas tree... choo choo! 🚂) Kind of a busy weekend for me, but that's OK. I love decorating for Christmas so I'm sure to have a lot of fun.
As for what I'll be playing, here's what I picked.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day, I kind of took a break from it but I'll be sure to play this weekend. Maybe do a vacation home or two in the DLC.
Disney Illusion Island - Still chugging along in it. I made quite a bit of progress in it and I just acquired a new ability. Things have gotten a little tougher but I'm still enjoying it.
I might play one more game or two this weekend, but haven't decided yet. I hope you all have a great weekend. I had a nice Thanksgiving as well, we still have quite a bit of leftovers, lol.
Looks like a nice update... I've played Ninja Gaiden II on the Virtual Console years ago. I've been wanting to try out that Kid Icarus game for a good while now. I wanna try all those other games out sometime too.
@Kraven I'm so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law, car, and back. My condolences, and sending you my best wishes... I hope you can recover real soon.
@Tyranexx Anytime. Gotcha, I did play a little bit of the NES version of DQI and III when I was a kid. It has indeed been a very long time so I'm leaning towards starting a new game. I'll be sure to let you and the others know when I start it.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Love this game, and I'm still playing a little bit each day. I'm pretty much done with Happy Home Paradise... I did my last facility and I even upgraded another one.
Mario Kart World - Thinking of playing Free Roam, hoping that I can find more Peach Medallions and P-Switches, as well as Knockout Tour. Maybe some Time Trials as well.
Disney Illusion Island - Think I want that wonderful Disney magic this weekend... so I'll be continuing that game. ✨ I came back to it when the game trial was active.
I didn't pick it, but I'm also thinking of coming back to Tetris Effect: Connected as well. You all have a lovely weekend, and Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it. 🦃
@Tyranexx Congrats on finishing Pokemon Scarlet and Dragon Quest III! I've been thinking of coming back to Dragon Quest XI sometime, but I'm thinking of starting a new game since it's been a while since I last played it... I don't want to get stuck, lol. I didn't put too much time into it either, so nothing to worry about for me.
@Tyranexx They're still worth a try, I think, if you decide to get the expansion pack. I wouldn't mind revisiting Double Dash once that gets added to Nintendo Classics.
@Tyranexx Lol exactly. I do love both games personally. Yeah, I would imagine they would add more tracks with DLC. That happened with Mario Kart 8 and its Deluxe counterpart, after all. Yeah definitely, I'd say the newer ones have better controls in general. I sometimes come back to the older ones (I've played Super Mario Kart online with @Sunsy once or twice), but not super often. I will say that I do like the older games' battle modes though.
Oh look, there's that letter I wrote to you guys! June 10th is when it'll be announced, huh? Can't wait for that date, lol! I've been enjoying Mario Kart World as well... I think that game gets too much hate personally. I've actually been thinking of doing Time Trials of the tracks sometime, too. Would love to have updates for that game, as well.
@Tyranexx Hard to say really, I enjoy both games for different reasons. There's more things to do in World compared to most of the other Mario Kart games, there's this big open area to drive around in, there's all these character costumes you can get, and Knockout Tour is so much fun. Whereas 8 Deluxe has so many tracks in it, particularly with the DLC.
On a side note, I generally prefer playing the newer Mario Kart games over the older ones. While Mario Kart 64 was a big part of my childhood, it is a bit rough to come back to, IMO.
@Tyranexx Thanks! I hope I can get it later on too. I've been enjoying Disney Illusion Island, it's a nice relaxing Metroidvania that stars Mickey Mouse and his friends. There's a lot of collectible items based on all the Mickey cartoons as well.
And shifting gears a bit, I also played some Mario Kart World recently. Been a while since I played it and I did some Knockout Tour races.
@Tyranexx Thanks, and I will hang in there for sure. Glad I have them all cataloged, too... and I have so many bells in ACNH actually! But yeah, I really only spend them on stuff I want, lol. (Only thing I'm missing is the white conductor outfit!) If you're interested to know, I'm also thinking of playing Disney Illusion Island this weekend, as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit each day. Recently I got all the colors of the conductor hat, which I'm really happy about as someone who enjoys trains. I'll be sure to be a good conductor... no matter what color I wear! I'm still excited for the update too. And within New Horizons, I'll also be focusing on...
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise - I finally started playing more of the DLC, and I've been enjoying it. Been slowly but surely chipping away at it, and I want to at least roll credits before the new year comes.
Kirby Air Riders - Since it's the last weekend the demo is playable, I'll be sure to play it this time as well.
I hope you're all doing well. Some slight depression on my end, but other than that, I'm OK. Be good, happy gaming, and have a lovely weekend.
Luigi's Mansion - I'm at area 4 now, so I wanna try to finish this game this weekend. I still really like this game, by the way... and I know it's a hot take, but I like it a lot more than Super Mario Sunshine.
Kirby Air Riders - They're having a demo playable this weekend and the next, so I'm excited to try the game out. It's been ages since I last played Kirby Air Ride on the GameCube, so I'll see how I'll fare.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Star-Crossed World - I wanna try to get all the Starries before going to the next area. I feel like I'm going through it quickly, lol. But I do still like it, and I think it's one of the better Switch 2 upgrade packs as well.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still plugging away at that game, and I'll try to find the time to play the DLC, too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event. I do still like it, though I feel like I'm getting a little burnt out from it.
You all have a lovely weekend. Be good, and happy gaming.
Hope you all are doing well. It's no longer spooky season, and I wanted to have a Rosalina profile picture this time. Here's what I'll be playing...
Luigi's Mansion - I made it through area 2 last time, and I'm enjoying the game, too. It's been ages since I last played it and I'm happy it's on Nintendo Classics now! And just for fun, I've also been playing it during nighttime and with the lights turned off, just for added immersion, lol.
Kirby and the Forgotten Land: Star-Crossed World - (Yes, I left out the "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" bit, lol.) I got the upgrade pack recently and while I didn't put too much progress in, I've been enjoying it from what I've played. It's more Kirby, and that's not a bad thing at all.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Still playing a little bit every day. One of my cousins actually gave me a green conductor's hat, and as someone who likes trains, that made my day! I've already been having the green outfit, so I'm happy for sure. It was my most wanted color, and there's a green train to match, too! Been thinking of doing a photo shoot for Christmastime. I'm excited for the new update, as well. It'll come out on the same month as my birthday! Nintendo will be wishing me a happy birthday with that update, haha.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event. We unfortunately didn't make the goal in the last one, so hopefully we'll do better this time.
I'm also thinking of playing Mario Kart World, Disney Illusion Island, and maybe Mario Party Superstars. We'll see how it goes.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and happy gaming, everyone.
I'm not interested at all. I don't like Warriors games... I tried a couple of them (Hyrule Warriors on Wii U and the Age of Calamity demo) and they're too repetitive and button-mashy for me. They even made my thumb tired.
Castlevania Anniversary Collection - With Halloween coming up, I've been in a Castlevania mood lately, so I'll be playing the games on that. Not sure if I'll finish any of them considering their difficulty, but I still have fun with them. Good games to play before Luigi's Mansion comes out on Nintendo Classics, too.
Tetris Effect: Connected - Another ritual event.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Playing a little bit each day. This time I've also been giving stuff to my animal friends in hopes that I get the conductor hat I want, in addition to checking Able Sisters. They just haven't been showing up at all, which kind of upsets me. Hopefully others can help me out.
Mario Kart World - Been a while since I played it. I'll at least do some collectable hunting in the free roam mode, and maybe the online as well.
And just for fun, I'll also mention that I'll be playing this on Halloween...
Luigi's Mansion - It's the perfect game to play on Halloween. Need I say more?
Maybe I'll play Mario Party Superstars on Halloween too, on the Horror Land board. I'll see how it goes. You all have a great weekend, everybody.
@KateGray Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day. 🎂 ❤️

Re: Disney Dreamlight Valley Will Be Part Of Your Switch 2 World This March
That's awesome! I haven't played the game in a while so this will be a great time to jump back in. Happy to see it's totally free, too.
Re: Poll: What Nintendo Switch 2 Games Are You Most Excited For In 2026?
I picked Splatoon Raiders, Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Switch 2 upgrade pack, and Mina the Hollower. I may or may not get Mario Tennis Fever... if I do get it, it would be on sale.

Re: How Well Do You Remember 2025? Nintendo Life's Gaming Quiz Of The Year
15 out of 17 for me. A couple of those questions were lucky guesses for me, lol. Only questions I got wrong were 5 and 12.
Re: Editorial: Happy Holidays From Everyone At Nintendo Life
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from yours truly! I hope you all have a wonderful day. 🎄❤️
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (20th December)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th December)
@Tyranexx That's cool, and that sounds like me before I started replaying SMO, lol. We're both revisiting a Super Mario game, haha. That Pokemon thing reminds me, been taking another break from Pokemon Legends: Arceus so I should come back to it later on.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (13th December)
I'll be playing...
Re: Your Nintendo Switch 'Year In Review 2025' Won't Arrive Until Next Month
I'm also OK with this. It makes perfect sense to have the year in review on January, and I didn't like how December wasn't counted in the last one.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)
@Tyranexx Anytime, and it looks cool for sure... I have a couple Mario holiday sweaters myself. Thanks! It is indeed train/locomotive-related, haha... shocking, I know! 🚂
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)
@Jhena Thanks! And me too... Christmastime always gets me happy.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th December)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th November)
@Zaruboggan Sorry to hear you got sick. I hope you feel better real soon.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (29th November)
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles
@PeterTomlan86 I would think so. I didn't make too much progress in either of them though because of how difficult they are.
Re: Nintendo Expands Switch Online's NES And Game Boy Library With Four More Titles
Looks like a nice update... I've played Ninja Gaiden II on the Virtual Console years ago. I've been wanting to try out that Kid Icarus game for a good while now. I wanna try all those other games out sometime too.
Re: Nintendo Music Update Adds Super Mario Party Jamboree + Jamboree TV Album
I love Jamboree, and I enjoy its music as well... so I'm happy to see the soundtrack get added to Nintendo Music.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd November)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (22nd November)
OK. Here's what I'll be playing this weekend...
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting The New Kirby Air Riders amiibo?
I'm not really interested in amiibo anymore, so I'll pass on those. Plus they're expensive.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
@Tyranexx They're still worth a try, I think, if you decide to get the expansion pack. I wouldn't mind revisiting Double Dash once that gets added to Nintendo Classics.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
@Yalloo You're welcome. I got a bit burnt out from Tetris Effect so I wanted a break from it. On my depression, thanks a lot! That means a lot to me.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
Re: Mailbox: 3D Mario Predictions, Gaming Redemptions, Grammar Talk - Nintendo Life Letters
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
@Yalloo Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (15th November)
Re: Video: 13 Exciting New Games Coming To Switch 1 & 2 In November 2025
Kirby Air Riders is what I'm most interested in.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (6th November)
Re: Site News: Nintendo Life Turns 20 Today!
Hooray for you, Nintendo Life! Happy birthday! 🎂 Thanks for being a great website and community. I hope you all have a wonderful day! ❤️
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (1st November)
Re: Poll: So, Will You Be Getting Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment?
I'm not interested at all. I don't like Warriors games... I tried a couple of them (Hyrule Warriors on Wii U and the Age of Calamity demo) and they're too repetitive and button-mashy for me. They even made my thumb tired.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (25th October)
@KateGray Happy birthday! I hope you have a wonderful day. 🎂 ❤️
