I'm liking the Sega Ages releases so far (I have Sonic 1, Thunder Force 4, and Out Run) so I might give this one a shot when it comes out. Daytona USA when?

Huh, Furukawa-san notes people are enjoying the NES Online app. I put a fair amount of time into it but that wasn't really the reason why I got the sub - I mainly got it for online play and the cloud saves.

Switch Online is okay as it is IMO, assuming the matches I play have low amounts of lag. But yeah... they gotta beef it up if they want me to keep subscribing. Let players send messages to friends, trash that useless app in favor of headsets, make more of these special offers like Tetris 99, among other stuff to make Switch Online better. I wonder how long Nintendo's gonna keep offering NSO for free, by the way... if they keep that up, they may as well have free online again, at least for their next console.

Oh goody, somebody made a headset! I will wait for a review for it though.

Like many of you, I'm okay with them not announcing a new version of the Switch. If they focus exclusively on upcoming Switch games, E3 should be good.

Haven't played Mario Kart 7 for a while, as I've been playing more of MK8. Maybe I'll jump into some online races for a nice nostalgia trip.

This is the Switch game I'm most excited for this year. Can't wait!

Just for fun, I removed "what-is-wiiu/" from the Wii U info address. I was taken to the Switch home page instead. Heaven forbid we even know one thing about the Wii U! XD

If the Switch Mini is going to be a thing, I could see it existing alongside Pokemon Sword and Shield when it comes out. Pokemon has been primarily on handhelds since day one, after all. I'm perfectly happy with my current Switch, but much like the 2DS it would be good for children and those on a budget to have.

Although I did exist in the OG Game Boy's heyday, I was a little too young back then (I was born in the early 90s and my dad, who was a big gamer back in the day, never got into handheld gaming. He did have a Super Game Boy and Donkey Kong '94, funnily enough). So my first handheld was actually the Game Boy Color. Had fond memories of Super Mario Land 1 and 2, the aforementioned Donkey Kong '94, and Pokemon Red. I didn't have too many games for it though - the Game Boy Advance was the first handheld that I truly dug! I still remember when every kid in school was playing Pokemon back when Red and Blue came out. You know, before Pokemon Go was a thing.

I have that same coin bank! I also have a similar heat-changing coffee mug that's square-shaped.

I have this on PC and I love it. I might just get the DLC from Steam, but the physical copy on Switch is tempting...

I just connected to Nintendo eShop to see if the maintenance is over, which it is. The update is still not downloading for me. It's gotta be the high traffic volumes... we may have to wait until tomorrow.

@MasterJay The only thing I found was updating the download progress in your user settings, then restarting if it didn't work. Try it out if you want to, but it sadly didn't work for me.

Tried updating the download progress at my profile page, and no dice. We may have to wait until maintenance is over, unfortunately.

@BoFiS You're literally zooming into the game screen by double-tapping the Home Button, even when you're at the Home Menu. You adjust the screen to where you want it, press the Home Button once, then you can control the game while it's zoomed in. That's the zoom feature in a nutshell, though I don't see myself using it that much.

@Heavyarms55 I agree with you on the profile icons. I kinda understand if they're only doing Nintendo IPs for the profile icons on the Switch, and if they're waiting for Pokemon Sword and Shield and Fire Emblem: Three Houses for icons for their respective franchises, but I'm surprised they haven't done it for Xenoblade Chronicles, especially since XC2 came out at the end of 2017!

My Switch is updating as I speak (err... type). Sorting your software sounds nifty! Still waiting for themes and folders, though. Let me know, Nintendo!

I didn't get into Animal Crossing until New Leaf came out. It's a great game for sure, being the mayor of your own town is fun and I enjoyed decorating my house with Mario stuff when I got them! I do wish it worked with in-game time rather than real time, though (i.e. Stardew Valley). I feel bad when I talk to my animal pals and they tell me "where the heck have you been? It's been so long!"

Well yesterday I played Xenoblade Chronicles 2, except I'm stuck right now. I hope I can get unstuck next time I play it. It's not this weekend, so I'm cheating a bit, but I finally beat Smash Ultimate's Classic Mode with every character around a week ago (not in one whole sitting, just to clarify).

Super Mario Land 2, Wario Land: SML3, and Donkey Kong 94 get my picks for my favorite OG Game Boy games. I have fond memories of SML2 and DK94 as a kid, as well. I like Link's Awakening too

Huh, looks like Nintendo spilled the beans after they barely mentioned the 3.0.0 update on the last Direct!

Anyway, pretty cool that it's making a comeback. Like many people here, my ideal solution is to have it like Brawl's stage builder and have the touch screen controls optional. Given that the Switch can be either docked or in handheld mode, I am sure that it will be like Brawl's. We won't know for sure until Nintendo talks about it, obviously, but that's my prediction.

Always cool to see how our favorite games looked during their development phase. I loved Super Mario 64 as a child and though it shows some signs of aging, I still love it today!

Really though, I only used it like 1 or 2 times. And that's solely to see my Splatoon 2 stats. Had to get rid of it on my phone because I rarely used the app and so I can save space. Not a very good app, honestly... though I never tried its voice chat.

It's a cool bonus, I guess, but it honestly doesn't excite me too much - it doesn't seem that much better than just playing SMO and BotW on a TV or in handheld mode to me. Plus from what I've seen, the way the VR goggles are held looks...uncomfortable. I'd hate to be all negative, but those are just my two cents.

@NotTelevision Yeah, it doesn't seem like Konami's NES games would be coming. I don't even think any Mega Man games would be available either, since Legacy Collection is a thing on Switch.

That would be a nice surprise if they did announce SNES games for Switch Online, not gonna lie. It may not necessarily take the world by storm, but it would certainly make the service a bit better. Wouldn't it be nice if they included SNES games alongside NES when Switch Online came out, though?

Not a bad selection of games this month, but it seems like they're slowly running out of NES games to throw into NSO. If I worked at Nintendo, I would've at least put in SNES, Game Boy, and GBA games to beef up NSO's retro game catalog. From my understanding, they shouldn't be too hard to emulate, especially when you take Virtual Console into consideration.

Awesome game IMO - it's just as good as the first one! I highly recommend both BMZ1 and 2. Inti Creates really knows how to make retro-styled games

As good as Super Mario Party is, I agree that it could use some more boards. There's only 4 of them and I wish they were a tad more imaginative. Boards and minigames from past Mario Parties would be great!

Not interested in the Stadia at all - I have plenty of consoles and my gaming laptop to keep me busy and I don't like the idea of streaming games. Plus, Google's really trying to cash in on every market imaginable, aren't they?

@jobvd You have to have Switch Online to play them, though.

Anyway, I would LOVE to play Celeste one of these days! I wanna try out Monster Boy, as well. Out of all the games being shown, Sonic Mania is my favorite, but NSMBU and Mega Man 11 are solid games too. DKC:TF is fantastic, as well.
