Re: Nintendo Has Now Sold More Than 750 Million Games Consoles Worldwide

D-Star92

I own all seven of Nintendo's home consoles, and I have some of the handhelds. (In particular, I have the original Game Boy Advance, an NES-themed GBA SP, and a red New 3DS XL.) I had a Game Boy Color and a DS Lite, but I lost them a long time ago. I do have the original DS, but it went bust. Oh, and I own the NES and SNES Classics too, as well as the Game & Watch Ball repro from Club Nintendo. Safe to say that I have no shortage of Nintendo stuff in my household. lol

Now all they have to do is reach a billion!

Re: Looks Like Nintendo Might Be Hiring Developers For A New 2D Mario Game

D-Star92

Can't wait to see what they are. I'll be especially excited if they make a 2D Mario game for Switch that's more unique compared to the NSMB games. After all, the Switch just got a port of NSMBU so it makes sense that they'd give 2D Mario a brand new direction!

As for 3D Mario, I enjoy all the 3D Mario games so I'll always be pumped for the next one, be it Galaxy 3, 3D World 2, Odyssey 2, or something else.

Re: Super Mario Odyssey's Pauline Makes Her Mario Kart Debut Tomorrow

D-Star92

@Grumblevolcano Yeah, I could already tell this is for Tour right off the bat. If you ask me, they would've had DLC for 8 Deluxe shortly after it came out on Switch, had they actually announced plans for it. But I don't think it will happen at all, honestly.

@TheFox I have a smartphone myself, but I very rarely play games on it. I much prefer playing games on consoles and PC so I'm not even sure when I'd give MKT a shot. Still waiting for the next console Mario Kart game, but you can bet that Pauline would be playable in that too.

Re: Review: F-Zero - The Game That Sold Us Mode 7

D-Star92

I still have a nostalgic soft spot for the original F-Zero, I play it from time to time. It's mega-tough for a Nintendo game and I love the sense of speed. There's not one track I truly dislike, as well. Oh yeah and major props to the awesome soundtrack too!

Re: Anniversary: The Original Super Mario Bros. Launched On NES 34 Years Ago Today

D-Star92

Believe it or not, I was introduced to the game (alongside SMB2 and 3) via Super Mario All-Stars! I didn't exist until the early 90s, and my dad had the SNES as his only console at the time. So I'm more nostalgic toward the All-Stars versions than the NES originals. I remember seeing the NES version of SMB1 for the first time years ago and thinking how it looked and sounded different compared to what I saw on SMAS.

Oh yeah, and SMB1 is surely one of the most important games ever made. Happy 34th anniversary, Super Mario Bros.!

Re: Hardware Review: The Genesis / Mega Drive Mini Finally Does Sega's History Justice

D-Star92

I still have my Genesis Mini on preorder, I can't wait for it to arrive. It's just too bad that Sonic 3 & Knuckles ain't here, but at least I still have it on Sonic Mega Collection and on the Wii Virtual Console. Aside from eBay, this will be the first time I buy a Sega console. (I never had any Sega console back in their heydays - I was a Nintendo-only kid until I got the PlayStation 2.)

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #5 - Super Mario Kart

D-Star92

All of them look good, but I picked the Japanese box art. I like the sunset and it has a slightly larger scale (you can see Koopa Beach in the background). Not to mention I like Mario's reaction to getting first place

I like how the US and EU covers show the use of items, but where's that banana peel being thrown from? It wasn't thrown by any of the racers, for goodness sake. lol

And yes, poor Toad bringing up the rear. He's my best character, too. At least he's still having a good time!

Re: Nintendo's North American Website Now Only Advertises The 2DS Line

D-Star92

@Aaronnnnn Yeah I agree, I've been having my red New 3DS XL since Christmas 2015 and I still love it. I have a ton of games for it so it's not going away. I'm thinking Nintendo's treating it as a budget system, so they ditched the models that have the 3D screen. It's a bit of a bummer, but alas...they gotta focus on the Switch.

Re: Reminder: The Hero From Dragon Quest Is Now Available In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

D-Star92

Just played as Hero for a bit. He has a solid moveset, my favorite move is the neutral special (the one where you charge/shoot the fireball). His side special is pretty good too. Not a fan of his down special though, it's a bit too complicated and luck-based for my liking. It does have its uses, though.

@rjejr Yes, you can get the DLC costumes with the gold coins. Same applies with anything with a price tag on the Switch eShop.

Re: Reminder: This Is Your Last Chance To Buy Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers (North America)

D-Star92

I have one game voucher left, I already used my first one on Super Mario Maker 2. Not sure what game I should use my last voucher on at the moment (maybe I'll use it on Animal Crossing: New Horizons since I can just hop into my island without having to change cartridges). I'm not sure if I want another pair, as I have too many games in my backlog and they cost quite a bit.

I think Nintendo should have the game vouchers available periodically. Like, maybe offer them yearly? This was a pretty good perk for those of us who have access to NSO.

Re: Nintendo Will Now Let You Upload 64 Courses In Super Mario Maker 2

D-Star92

Good update. Not sure if I will make that many, but I did upload 5 levels so far and I enjoy making my own.

More game styles would be great (I'm still hoping for an Odyssey game style). Online multiplayer needs some work, though. I would've made it work like Mario Kart's online where it doesn't lag and predicts where other players are. After all, you're racing toward the goal! If that means just passing through other players instead of picking them up, so be it.

Re: Doug Bowser Says Nintendo Will Continue To Support The 3DS Family Of Systems

D-Star92

I have no problem with Nintendo continuing to sell 3DS's, as there's a lot of great games for it (Virtual Console games included, plus SNES games for New 3DS owners) and it's very affordable. But yeah... sooner or later demand will decrease, especially since Switch Lite is now a thing.

@Anti-Matter I'm not sure if that will happen. Nintendo's been only giving the 3DS stability updates lately, so it probably won't happen. Same thing with the Wii U. I agree though, it would be great to have both 3DS and Wii U region-free.
