Re: Team17's Development Partners Aren't Happy About The Publisher's NFT Plans

If I had a job in a toxic industry I'll most probably defend it to the end. Because it's my job.
And from a technician point of view I'll most probably argue different then from a customer point of view.
Not everything that's interesting and exciting is for good. Technology is a tool and has to be there for the people - not vice versa.

Re: Tactical RPG 'Mercenaries Rebirth: Call Of The Wild Lynx' Launches On Switch This Week

Looks pretty much like more of Mercenaries Blaze. Not more, not less. Which seems ok for me. I liked Blaze so I will most likely like this one.
Fire Emblem for me is more of a kindergarten simulator then a tactics game. Day 1 with Season Pass and didn't play it more then 5 hours.
Mercenaries is pretty much very basic but I like it much more.
I'm waiting for a good price and then dive in.

Re: Triangle Strategy Gets A Snazzy New Trailer

Coxula

Graphics Engine was preventing me from buying Octopath. Now Triangle. I know I'm minority but I absolutely don't like these graphics. Everything looks kinda... blurred.
Am I the only one seeing this?
It's so sad because I'm all for TBS games.

Re: Empire of Angels IV

Does someone own this game?
I'm interested in it but I've read somewhere that you can't check movement and attack range of the opponents. This would be a dealbreaker for me.
But I hope they patched it in after the release. Does someone know?

Re: Mario + Rabbids Team Shares Special Artwork To Celebrate Kingdom Battle's Fourth Anniversary

I was waiting so much for the sequel and now I really fear they will destroy it with new battle system (grid has gone). We're talking about Ubi, right? So I have confidence they can desttroy it - even if they don't want to.
Grids are a must for predictability of the turns you do while fighting. There's a reason why every TBS title uses grid.
Prove me wrong and I will love it. Predecessor is one of the best Switch titles out there!

Re: Fort Triumph Blends Turn-Based Combat And World Exploration, Out On Switch Soon

Coxula

While they're OKisch I'm not absolutely convinced about the graphics. They look a bit cheap to me tbh.
But Couch-Coop-Multiplayer seems to be possible which is something rarely seen in TBS titles (I know - there's Wargroove). This alone catapults the game on my want-list.
If price tag is too high or not depends on the amount of content the game brings with.

Re: Review: Super Destronaut DX (Switch eShop)

Coxula

The 1st installment really nailed what I expected. A perfect Space Invaders experience with smooth controls and a price tag no one can complain about. So much fun to play!
But, yeah - what some previous speakers said: What could a 2nd installment add? And: Why?

Re: Shantae Developer WayForward Is Making Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp

@Ludovsky I think I get what you mean but I disagree to some point:
Getting rid of the grid has consequences not only for moving but also aiming. If implemented wrong (and we're talking about UBI, right?) you'll not have the safety if you're covering right, if you hit the opponents you want or close missing them - this could end being a bit more... random. Which might appeal when it comes to adress a bigger audience but is death for strategists.
Besides that: Good bye D-Pad. And that alone (it might just be me, I know) is the death for a strategic game. There are some turn based games out there on switch using analogue stick controls... and they're all crap. I've tried a lot.
So I'm happy games like WarGroove, Tiny Metal and Banner of the Maid hold the flag high. They can't do much wrong with Advance Wars and I'm looking forward to it. And stay sceptical with M&R - but it get's a chance or two of course.
And: No. Having no grid is no evolution. It's just... different.
