I like the simplicity of the graphics and the art style.
But, really: I'm out because of the timers. Stupid design decision for a console. I wanna play when I wanna play.
I passed Octopath and I will pass this even it's the genre I like most. The graphics engine seems not to be able to produce only one sharp and crisp picture.
I'm too old hurting my eyes this way. They always try to focus until the picture is sharp. But it's not possible...
So sad, really. I'd love to love the games. Both.
I tried to buy eShop cards here but the system doesn't want my login credentials (triple checked if they're right).
Is it possible you don't sell to Germany?
(It's a bit strange anyways because I'm already logged in when asked to log in again...)
If I had a job in a toxic industry I'll most probably defend it to the end. Because it's my job. And from a technician point of view I'll most probably argue different then from a customer point of view. Not everything that's interesting and exciting is for good. Technology is a tool and has to be there for the people - not vice versa.
Looks pretty much like more of Mercenaries Blaze. Not more, not less. Which seems ok for me. I liked Blaze so I will most likely like this one. Fire Emblem for me is more of a kindergarten simulator then a tactics game. Day 1 with Season Pass and didn't play it more then 5 hours. Mercenaries is pretty much very basic but I like it much more. I'm waiting for a good price and then dive in.
Graphics Engine was preventing me from buying Octopath. Now Triangle. I know I'm minority but I absolutely don't like these graphics. Everything looks kinda... blurred. Am I the only one seeing this? It's so sad because I'm all for TBS games.
Not interested. If they would pack GTA 1 and 2 in the compilation it would've been a no-brainer for me... but I didn't like the switch to 3D graphics and gameplay.
Two questions remaining:
What's the "lite" in roguelite? (So: What do you keep for the next run?) and:
Does the Focus Gauge decrease even if you don't press any button? (Would make the game a real time game for me and not a "true" turn based.)
The concept sounds wonderful.
If it's to switch plastic graphics for nice ones it's ok. (Look at Tiny Metal, Nintendo!) I don't have hope this happens tbh and it doesn't read so. But I can't stress this enough. What a fail! I'm so disappointed about it...
As much as I love Nintendo - Euroconsumers are absolutely right. Nintendo not caring about Joycon Drift is disrespect to their customers at it's highest.
Can't hate Nintendo but they deserve it. It's heartbreaking behavior.
What i'd like to know: I want to have my Switch OLED as let's say "my primary Switch" and my old one as my secondary (for travelling with it). Is this possible? Or can I just have one Switch at a time?
I can imagine many have a Switch at home and use a Swich Lite for travelling. (If it's possible of course...)
Day 1. Not shure if I'll be playing it tbh. But an easy decision to buy. Just to support the Devs for their fantastic work. HCT - for me - is 2nd best racer on switch. Right behind Mario Kart.
Does the game still have the time component or do we have the chance to turn it off in the options? This stupid concept still holds me off from buying the game.
My expectations are pretty low: I just want to hear an excuse why they gave Advance Wars this lifeless plastic graphic and that it needs some more time to convert it to something lovely.
Does someone own this game? I'm interested in it but I've read somewhere that you can't check movement and attack range of the opponents. This would be a dealbreaker for me. But I hope they patched it in after the release. Does someone know?
I was waiting so much for the sequel and now I really fear they will destroy it with new battle system (grid has gone). We're talking about Ubi, right? So I have confidence they can desttroy it - even if they don't want to.
Grids are a must for predictability of the turns you do while fighting. There's a reason why every TBS title uses grid.
Prove me wrong and I will love it. Predecessor is one of the best Switch titles out there!
I'd say: poor. But the game has it's fans. It brings good ideas but technically it's a mess. I might be too severe but I don't have fun playing a game that's not running smooth and stuttering all the time. I'd recommend Torchlight 2 (not 3) if you want a solid ARPG experience.
While they're OKisch I'm not absolutely convinced about the graphics. They look a bit cheap to me tbh.
But Couch-Coop-Multiplayer seems to be possible which is something rarely seen in TBS titles (I know - there's Wargroove). This alone catapults the game on my want-list.
If price tag is too high or not depends on the amount of content the game brings with.
How is this possible? You can't play a game that's not running smooth in a competetive way. My opinion. And I own the game so I know what I'm talking about...
The 1st installment really nailed what I expected. A perfect Space Invaders experience with smooth controls and a price tag no one can complain about. So much fun to play!
But, yeah - what some previous speakers said: What could a 2nd installment add? And: Why?
@Ludovsky I think I get what you mean but I disagree to some point:
Getting rid of the grid has consequences not only for moving but also aiming. If implemented wrong (and we're talking about UBI, right?) you'll not have the safety if you're covering right, if you hit the opponents you want or close missing them - this could end being a bit more... random. Which might appeal when it comes to adress a bigger audience but is death for strategists.
Besides that: Good bye D-Pad. And that alone (it might just be me, I know) is the death for a strategic game. There are some turn based games out there on switch using analogue stick controls... and they're all crap. I've tried a lot.
So I'm happy games like WarGroove, Tiny Metal and Banner of the Maid hold the flag high. They can't do much wrong with Advance Wars and I'm looking forward to it. And stay sceptical with M&R - but it get's a chance or two of course.
And: No. Having no grid is no evolution. It's just... different.
