Re: Talking Point: What Does Google's Stadia Mean For Nintendo And The Future Of Gaming?

Coxula

I'm pretty shure Stadia works perfectly in the Google sandbox. In open field it will struggle with things like Pings like some here already stated.
As some said: Google is all about Data Mining.
I see this project as a big beta test for Google. It's about
a) testing the acceptance in the gaming community
b) mining data of the internet structure worldwide (not only in terms of speed but also in terms of stability and reliability)
c) testing business models like the one-click-away from the gaming influencers (streamers)
Things like that. It's NOT about gaming - it's about data mining (at this point at least). They're not stupid. They know that today the internet infrastructure isn't ready. They arm for the future - it will be at some day. And they have the time and the money to invest to be prepared for this day. To be ahead of their competitors.
And even then they make their money with data mining. The gamers world is the frame around it.
You can earn a lot more money with data/advertising then with games. And nobody is better in it then Google.

Re: Talking Point: Nintendo And Microsoft Working Together Isn't As Crazy As You Think

Coxula

The article is an interesting read. Nevertheless it's completely from a gamers point of view. We, as gamers, have no downside.
Of course that kind of a deal would be a great benefit for Microsoft, but as I mentioned in a commentary in the past, I don't see why Nintendo should do this. What interest should Nintendo have in helping Microsoft spreading their software to an audience where they (MS) failed in the past?
I don't get it from the economic point of view. And this article doesn't help me because it's focused on the benefits for MS and the gamers.

Re: Nintendo Switch Firmware 7.0.0 Already Hacked Just Four Hours After Going Live

Coxula

I wouldn't hesitate hacking my console if I would be able to do savegame backups on SD card or wherever. I had problems with a corrupt save in the past and the online backup didn't help in any way.
The only reason I don't hack my switch is because I don't want to be banned.
I'm talking of savegame backups - not the so called "software backups" which I don't tolerate in any way.

Re: Review: Lightseekers - Switch's First Great Competitive Card Game Is Here

Coxula

Thanx for your tip. I never ever played games on my mobile (for playing mobile Nintento has a lot of nice consoles I can chose from ) so I'm not really familiar playing on touch screen.
Might be I was a bit overhasty not giving the game a chance. Maybe I'll try it again.
On the other side it's as I said: I'm playing in docked most of the time and if not I normally have no Internet connection.

As a former Duelyst player I was keen if I'll like the game. I've never heard from it before and installed it day one.
Then I realized there's no docked support which - for me - is kind of a disaster (because I'm playing docked about 80% of my playing time). Then I tried it in handheld mode. But the texts of the cards are nearly unreadable. I want to have fun and not an eye test.
Uninstalled it after about 45 minutes.
I think I'll give it a second chance when docked mode will be available. If not... I'll pass this one and hope for another CCG.

Re: Review: Diablo III: Eternal Collection - More Loot Than You Can Shake A Magical Pointy Stick At

Coxula

I'm playing Victor Vran currently and I love it. I know of Diablo over the last decades but never played it. A friend of mine played both VV and D3 and told me that I'll be disappointed when playing D3 because he thinks VV is - while not so polished - better in many ways.
Long story short:
I'll buy D3, maybe not day one but I'll give it a try. And I'm curious which game I like more. D3 has more hype, is more polished - no question about this. But is it the better game?
VV is great - D3 will have a hard time to beat it, that's for shure.

Re: Hand Of Fate 2's The Servant And The Beast DLC Is Headed To Switch "Soon"

Coxula

I like the idea of the game and the atmosphere in it. But when it comes to fights it's too hard for me with no difficulty level to chose.
If you read the steam board players just say "git gud". I tried but after 10 hours of playing I gave up.
If the patch gives me an easy mode I'll dive in again and buy the DLC also. If not... I have to accept that it's too hard for me.
